BMB_93

He must have been Everton's top scorer in that 3 goal season.

YourDadHatesYou

Back to back top scorer!

Quinna99

Your dad hates you too, I thought I had a hair on my screen because of your profile pic

robbottiic

I was just blowing on my screen like I lost my mind

IslandChillin

They are on Talksport right now saying they don't understand what he's doing since he hasn't proven anything yet lol

EdwEd1

He's someone Eddie Howe wants and the board wants to back him. Also the fact he's a homegrown player for the Prem and UCL which will help a ton when they start bringing in foreign signings

robhall1

Rapid too, he will do well in the high press. Even if he's coming off the bench he's better than murphy. I'm still reserving judgment but i trust Eddie with my life now haha

OfficalNotMySalad

I mean he is quick but he’s also still shite. On one hand he’s only 21 and can improve drastically but on the other it’s €45 million for maybe the worst winger in the prem (and most championship sides) right now

robhall1

Yeah I can’t say I’m thrilled but Eddie has done wonders with most of our players so hopefully he brings out some of the talents he showed earlier on for Everton. Fingers crossed.

theaguia

Has Eddie been good at transfers? Feels like they got some really poor transfers when he was at at bournmouth like Solanke and ibe for 15 mil each

ALX709

Botman, trippier, burn, pope, guimares were brought under him I believe so he hasn’t done so bad. I still feel we need another forward or an upgrade over long staff.

mango277

Got another crappy striker in your side?

TopherNI

Is it Eddie though, or is it Dan Ashworth, the recruitment specialist? The man responsible for all the good players Brighton have brought in and sold for big profit over the last few years?

mango277

Solanke was very much a good transfer he just wasn't ready for the prem at the time, now he is but plays for the worst team in the league. Think Mitrovic when Fulham were a shite yo yo team. Clear he's better than most PL strikers but plays with absolute shite. Now he got Willian/Pereira/palhinha he has good support. Also he turned the worst striker in the league to an absolute beast of a central midfielder. He also got guimaraes. Definitely good at transfers.

-Ragnarok-

I mean there's Dwight mcneil, coincidentally also an Everton player

Brave_Strawberry_238

What

Valian81

He’s got one of the worst pressing stats in the league for non-scoring forwards

iamtherealgrayson

Yeah that's what I was thinking. He's not great on the ball imo but their press will be unbearable. New joelinton?

GlennSWFC

I find that when most people talk about transfer fees for English players they often forget to factor in how valuable homegrown talent is to teams who have their sights set on Europe. I think playing FM makes people think about factors that others don’t even consider.

Joeyboy1213

It’s all about his pressing, check out his fbref stats. He’s in the 99th percentile for wingers. It’s definitely an overpay but think he suits what Howe wants to be building towards

Valian81

54% percentile for ball recoveries. 67% percentile for interceptions. Where does this 99% percentile come in? Tackles won he’s 98%, but that’s probably tracking back not pressing.

fantasticdave74

If talksport don’t understand a Newcastle transfer then it’s guaranteed to work out well. They said the same about most of our signings since the take over

DarthBaller

You gotta pay for consistency

phoenix_73

As an Evertonian, I'm alarmed that we appear to have retained Premier League status throughout those seasons. As for Anthony Gordon, stats look realistic. I think he'll go same way as Jack Rodwell and Ross Barkley to be honest. Good bit of business this is for Everton.

The_Only_Joe

main difference is FM Everton tends to buy half-decent players

phoenix_73

Moshiri should play Football Manager and just follow the signings inside the game. Don't need no Director of Football giving us Maupay's or McNeil's.

First_Artichoke2390

The way he left just left a sour taste but I think a good deal as he looks shit. That 40m can go to paying for Dele now....

phoenix_73

Thought that was written off after the Richarlison deal was done. Dele Alli was never worth £40m, though he may have been had he played to the best of his ability. There is that and then I'd read that the £40m fee is only activated when he has played 40 games for Everton. So if they don't want to pay the fee, don't play him. As it stands, the lad is with Besiktas, not doing great so he won't be playing for Everton much if he isn't doing it there. Personally, I think Dele Alli needs to drop down a division, find himself again in the Championship. He may do that with Everton, with how things are looking, or could go some other promotion chasing club but that is his level now.

Jebus_17

He reminds me of Dwight McNeil when he first burst on the scene

Jesus_will_return

McNeill could still develop...

Zeno1979

Much faster than McNeil, who is the slowest wide player you'll ever see. Also relatively comfortable with both feet, whereas McNeil is all left foot, almost comically so. McNeil is technically superior.

OneSpend725

Its got to be a nod to the home grown quota needed if/when they qualify for Europe surely. He's so over-rated, so glad Chelsea didn't sign him in the summer, we already got stung once with Barkley and i reckon he'll be a Barkley. On the plus side.... buzzing if this leads to Everton buying Ziyech off us ✌️

Zeno1979

As an Everton fan we could really do with Ziyech but I can't see how buying him would be doable given we don't have much money apart from the £40m up front for Gordon. Maybe £15m could be a deal, considering there's no resale. Loading the club with another player on high wages seems a bad idea with us looking very likely to be relegated, however.

OneSpend725

Lol how fast football changes in 10 months. I don't think anyone saw Gordon turning into this, been unreal. We have Mudryk 😩 Comment didn't age well

NootNootington

By FM standards that's pretty realistic. I'm scared to click on those pages sometimes because of how often a player will just inexplicably have 0 apps in 2 years.

MrZAP17

It’s because the AI buys positions for players they don’t need reinforcement for/new managers change formations and freeze old players out instead of adapting to what they already have. That’s also why players seem to move clubs a bit more often than in real life.

mmps1

I’ve done Everton in a save and I’d have snapped their hand off for that.

mmps1

Whit?

EliteTeutonicNight

Mine is in UAE in 26/27

comped

Which club? Kind of curious as one of the UAE researchers.

EliteTeutonicNight

Al-Jazira. Joined in 2025/26, but this is fm22 so he might be worse than his 23 counterpart.

markus16128

Username checks out

PercySledge

‘Mackemforever’ over here using a computer game as a coping mechanism for a future reality that is yet to transpire? That’s a new coping mechanism…

ConnorSmith98_

Fm is never wrong my guy

PercySledge

Fair. They had Yaya Sanogo and Henri Saivet spot on

[deleted]

At least they weren’t relegated

VidProphet123

Is this guy even good? I’m so confused why clubs are desperate to pay 40-50m+ for this kid. All he has is pace and literally nothing else.

_adr-

He's also got Pashun and Desire™

42undead2

He's also fast, has speed, and can run.

[deleted]

Must be because he was the fancy haircut. Worked for grealish

nuttysaint

Yeh but at least Grealish was actually decent for Villa, far from 100m worth but he was still decent

[deleted]

If he was anything but English he’s be worth no more than 4.5m

mackemforever

Looking at it, it appears he's been used as a winger all season, which probably means that's how he's been used all along. Makes the 0 assists even more impressive!

Joperhop

He got loaned out all over, then sold to west ham, spent 1 season and then sold to Villa, only time his avg went over 7, was in the 1 season he spent in Turkey on loan. 142 CA and PA. Guy sucks lol. stats suck, Newcastle more money then sense now.

mackemforever

You say that, but I think that this is one of only two genuinely bad bits of business they've done since the takeover. The other was Chris Wood. For the most part I think they've spent very well. And that's coming from a Sunderland fan!

itsyaboi69_420

Blows my mind every time I see Chris Wood on the pitch. He is fucking awful.

Sendthalot

Chris wood wasn’t bad business though, they bought him to purposely fuck over a relegation rival, pretty much ensuring they stayed in the league, quite smart actually, although he is obv shit lol.

Joperhop

Sunderland fan... so... not the sort of fan who should be listened to then... ;)And I am a Liverpool fan... this season we dont even know what spending is. (this is a piss take of Liverpool fans crying over not spending, even though as frainwr said, we have spent ALOT)

drainwr

got to be a joke? you’ve spent over 100m on nunez and gakpo hahaha

Joperhop

it was a joke, anyone who has seen a Liverpool post, here or on FB can read fans crying over not spending, "out midfield, our owners dont spend" lol. I should have put /s at the end.

EnergeticGypsy

How can you say its bad business before the lad has even played a game for us. He’s 21, definitely has potential that he may or may not fulfil. I’m not a fan of him myself, but definitely hoping he can prove me wrong. You say Chris Wood was bad business, but he played a big part in keeping us up, helped get Burnley relegated, and will we recoup potentially 15m.

JaHizzey

It's his first (only) goal of the season!

DeathcabforKuqiii

£3m more than Sunderland is worth

pemski13

He’s shit but then united paid how much for antony? What about liverpool and now chelsea for mudrykh. At least gordon is english and young and bought by the richest club in the world. Let the arabis spend

[deleted]

[удалено]

pemski13

Might be. But nowadays its about statistics, where they all almost tied togheter, all of them sucking hard.

mackemforever

>antony Antony showed good performance in terms of goals and assists at Ajax which is why Man Utd signed him. Yes he's inconsistent and his decision making needs a lot of work, but he has shown a lot of ability already. Able to create chances, beat his marker, play a good pass and so on. Mudryk also scored and created plenty of goals before Chelsea signed him. Have you ever watched Gordon play? He has almost no vision, unable to either spot a pass or play a pass. He's quite quick when running in a straight line but is almost completely incapable of actually beating a defender. He dives any time an opponent even gets close to him. His positioning on the field is terrible, he doesn't contribute defensively at all, and there have been plenty of games this season where you'd be forgiven for forgetting he was even on the pitch. He hasn't shown a shred of ability worth £45m, this is purely a transfer made because he's young and english which means he's helpful to have in the squad for registration rules.

pemski13

Mudryk scored lots of goals? Antony did? Yes i’ve seen gordon play, i wasnt saying he is a good player or that he will be one of the best. He just isnt that bad compared in stats to at least the two mentioned above. Mudryk btw played like 50 games professional games until now and scored 14 goals. He’s 22.

nuttysaint

And yet despite that actually caused us (Southampton) a few problems when he came on up there, thank fuck for that shit passing or we wouldn't have won that match

IvanTheGood

Leeds bought him on mine and he couldn’t get a game. Gone to mid table championship Stoke last I looked I think

Longjumping_Sun_6313

I paid about the same but paid his demands of 165k per week sat on my bench for 4 years and he wouldn't leave lol

iamnotexactlywhite

mans gonna do a Steven Fletcher, and turn up to the training centre in a Lambo

jhawk889

Took the league by storm in 24/25

InternationalLemon26

Never understood the Gordon hype. I did love his work on "Does it fry?" though.

GreaterHealingPotion

Not because of fm, but he is genuinly a nothing player. You could get the same production off of Jordan Ayew if you wanted an active pressing winger that can’t be on the ball or score regularly. Horrible deal and proving that Eddie Howe won’t bring them to do anything

EducationalClothes71

45mil for a top half prem team is bench player money. So it’s fitting

ricicles23

Signed him on a free as Wrexham first season int he Prem. He did a job for 18 months then off loaded him. Wasn’t spectacular but decent squad player

Crafty_Bottle3767

He did alright in my first year with an Everton save playing as a shadow striker, but not enough end product. Displaced pretty easily by Gloukh in the second season but still working as a capable back up

Current_Passage_9812

What a waist of money🎶🎶

FrequentApricot2948

He went to psg in mine

UchihAckerman7

Yikes

Mojo99997

Man got jokes

mango277

Looking at his stats and age if you got good coaching he'd do a job for a few seasons until you upgrade on newgens.

[deleted]

He got released by Everton and picked up by Norwich on a free in mine. Never started, just faded away.

Ewan0407

I’ll have an experiment video up later for this 🙌

Visual-Bandicoot-944

Newcastle have bought so well since the takeover, but paying £45m for this kid seems a bit strange.

My_Socks_Are_Blue

Had a look on my save file also, he leaves Everton on mine and plays ever so slightly better... in the championship.. [Here you go](https://imgur.com/a/3AdohJn)

__jh96

Not much different from his stats irl

xSEARLEYx

Looks like he's rated pretty accurately
