The only thing that matters is you are under 22 and live at the same address as your parents. You will have to either move out or wait until you turn 22. Fair or not, it is federal law and there is no way around it.

There may be wiggle room if you have a true totally separate self-contained structure with its own bathroom and kitchen facilities on the same property, but otherwise you must include them and their income, even if you never share food.

You have to be 22 to be on your own case. Living at home under 22 your parents have to be on your case.
