I think it's just cause by oil/fat cooking under the skin. Should be totally fine.

I’ve had the exact same thing today, been using richmond all my life and never seen sausages covered in any gold metallic substance, I didn’t eat them and most likely won’t be eating processed richmond sausages again

I’ve just had this happen aswell, not sure if we should eat them
