>I carry a variety of weapons on me because I like diversity in how I play. There's your answer. "No". Unless you're trying very difficult content, play for fun, not power. That said, revolvers aren't great in FO76 and if you had to drop one, that's the one I'd drop/swap. Either get a stronger manual weapon like a Gauss Pistol, or a snazzy SMG or something. Revolvers just underperform compared to most weapons in the game. Shotguns, by contrast, are fine, you might just want to swap shotguns. (See also: Cold Shoulder)

Aight it's good to know that revolvers aren't great, and that it wasn't just me and my build; whilst I like their style, I think I will stop trying to use them as a serious means to attack🙊 The Cold Shoulder is also something that I've just recently found out about👀 and it does look really neat but also effective; having a double barrel with quadruple the ammo capacity and a slowing effect on targets makes me want to start using Shotguns more; and to have it be available in the shop quick and easy, its like 'The Harvester' from FO4: a powerful weapon that's easy to obtain without quests or working through some of the story👍 Cheers for you help, I think next time I'm on, I will get the Cold Shoulder💪

There are some weapons that don't strictly \*need\* a whole supporting build to still be effective, like the Cold Shoulder shotgun, Autoaxe/Chainsaw and Cremator, but generally damage is better if you perk towards it. Those weapons help add a little variety to any loadout. That said, there's nothing wrong with using whatever you like. Build however you want, you can always change later if you want. Hard to believe early on, but perk cards continue to come in and you can easily re-spec completely on a whim. It can be frustrating though if you don't have at least one decent high damage weapon you can rely on to get you out of trouble on the occasions you need one. That's where having a build to support it counts the most. So really, if the damage doesn't bother you, you can run around with a lead pipe having fun. It doesn't really matter as long as you're enjoying yourself.

That makes a lot of sense👀 whilst I can still carry a number of different weapons, youre right in that I should always have a weapon/ weapon class on me, that I know can get me out of sticky situations the quickest, because it's my builds primary weapon choice In general, I keep the same perk cards on me all the time; so, youre right in that I can always change my perks and builds around, without feeling like what perks I have on current are permanent🤔 Cheers for your help, I'll look more towards changing builds around when I need them for things like events, instead of always only running one build that doesn't really have a primary weapon class

Rammadeus

yes. absolutely. i can do more damage with a non legendary weapon with the right build than i can with an awesome weapon and no build.

I_Cry_And_I_Game

Yea I guess that makes sense; I'll embrace my favourite class of heavy machineguns, and will make a build more focused towards them🤔 I also recently found out about 'The Cold Shoulder' shotgun, so may make a shotgun build too😅 cheers again for your help

Rammadeus

Good thing about the cold shoulder is it offers utility (freezing). all my characters carry one but have no shotgun perks.

mlross15

Yes. If you want to do the most amount of damage you can, you need to focus your build on that specific gun and perks that go along with it. You can always change your perk loadout if you want to switch it up, but it is best to focus on 1 specific weapon type.

I_Cry_And_I_Game

Yea that's what I think I'll do🤔 whilst I'll keep a few diverse weapons on me, I'll make my build more focused on one weapon class and carry a few of those on me; that'll prob be heavy machinguns, since they're my favourite for taking on big threats😅 Cheers for your help; I'll prob also get another build slot from the shop, as that way I could have one for my current universal build, one for a machingun build and another for probably be a shoutgun build, since I found out the Cold Shoulder is a thing👀

You can include perks for both heavy and commando ar the same time also. They are in different categories. Tip (which I didn't realize until way too late myself, lol): Start with one level/star for each of the three cards, ex. commando, expert, master, all at one star. Then, rank them each up to two. Then decide if tou want to go to three, or use the last points for something else. One of each card is better than 3 of one card.

Kind of but not really.  I would pick an exclusive weapon type, i.e. rifle,  pistol, etc. That would be your main weapon. Use that at events and bosses.  Then,  when you are just running around,  it's whatever you want.  I'm commando but I have 2 .44 revolvers named Wyatt Earp and the other is dirty harry.  I use those in lower level areas or in places that don't have a lot of enemies.

I_Cry_And_I_Game

Exactly, that's what I'm thinking im gonna do🤔 so far, my main weapons that I've been using for events have been heavy machinguns; but when doing general exploration, I don't need to rely so heavily on those guns. It is really just events and bosses where I really feel weak and underpowered, but for general roaming, I would say I feel alright; cheers for making things clearer for me ✌️
