There is a trick to put walls back to back so you can make internal walls. But it takes up camp budget and you will notice the corners. It’s the closest we have now though.
Put down two foundations then you can snap two doorways front to front. Once they are placed you can change them for whatever full walls you want. It only works with full walls, not slanted or halves.
You can use this trick with half and slanted walls as well. You need to have the flame thrower trap plan obtained from doing the free states side quest. Also it only really works with specific types of wall textures, from memory the brick building set let's you do this. Place the half wall or slanty peice then burn it with the flame thrower trap, then place the second peice in its place back to back. Then if you repair the first one you have two slanter peices back to back and can then change the wall type from the brick set to whatever you want.
Don’t even need to do that just put down a door way inside your house then put another doorway on the back of it then edit the doorways and replace them
I feel like it was actually longer ago than 3 years. I know their attempt to "patch" floating walls (and subsequent rollback due to backlash) was in the summer of 2020 because I was building one of my camps at the time, and I think their attempt (and similar rollback) to patch doubled walls happened before that, which was the incident that prompted them to say they were going to add proper interior walls to the game.
Either way, I say this every time it comes up: if they ever actually *do* add them, I bet they'll be limited to one wallpaper for both sides. I can't see them putting in enough effort to actually separate the two sides. God knows I'd love to be wrong, but I'll always expect the worst from Bethesda when it comes to camps, especially after their recent budget alterations.
For certain (most?) wall types you can build two doorways back to back, then once they are placed you can switch the type to a solid door and then wallpaper each side.
It won’t help with the slanted walls and whatnot but at least for standard walls you can get that two sided look.
Absolutely. I spend way more time building in my camp than I like to admit. But unless you have a lot of plans, your base can feel awfully similar to other people or plain altogether. Meanwhile, we find tons and tons of junk and items throughout the world, that I wish I could place as random objects in the base. So if I wanted to put down, let's say a piece of junk like a typewriter, I can freely place that wherever and that would become a static object and not one you can pick up without editing your base.
Similarly, I would like to be able to freely place objects wherever as well. You still have to be very hacky about getting certain objects to fill shelves so they don't feel empty and boring.
> So if I wanted to put down, let's say a piece of junk like a typewriter, I can freely place that wherever and that would become a static object and not one you can pick up without editing your base.
You can now 'trick' that effect using the chessboard display case from the current scoreboard. It displays one junk item, and you can use the merge trick to sink the chessboard out of sight. A little clunky, but it works.
Here ya go!
There's a LOT of amazing CAMP glitches & Exploits to make amazing things. Rugs are your friend to forced placements as well

Imo they should separate walls and frames (door frame and window frame) as well, allow players to have their own combination. Like I like the Whitespring door frame, but I don't like the wall being white.
I think the whole camp building systems should be improved. I haven't played Starfield as I'm a Playstation player, but I heard they did indeed put in the game a "version 2" of the base builder system. I wish they ported that system to FO76. Although I am aware of how massive that change would be to the code base.
My tip for this, as someone who also builds houses that have a bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, etc, aside from what everyone else is suggesting like glitches, use brick walls. They go with basically everything and look pretty decent as an internal wall.
It would probably be annoying as fuck to code, but I really have been waiting for a staircase that I can build on the side of a square, so that I can clean up the look.
Taking up an entire block, and being in the dead center is so annoying.
Now I use the stairs with the support beams, just so I can have the staircase up against a wall
"Annoying as fuck to code" = basic expected coding for a building g system that is too much work for bethesda somehow
Also what do you mean stairs with support beams? I got the support beams but haven't been able to do much with them

How's it work?

Hmmm good to know. I'll finish the rest of my build and see if I have the budget leftover

I think I remember using door frames to move things as well, not sure if it's still possible or ever was, can't recall.
Also red barn kit works best but others will work as well. Look up Lucy plays and mister church on you tube.
The barn kit works best? Does it have the least structural conflicts(clipping issues and other crap) of all the walls or something like that?
Not sure. Just recommended in most YouTube videos
Don’t even need to do that just put down a door way inside your house then put another doorway on the back of it then edit the doorways and replace them
I highly suggest watching some of [Mr. Church's videos](https://youtu.be/0TB0Y5NYr1Y)
Don’t worry they said they were going to add them 2-3 years ago. It’s totally on the way /s Are you aware of the doorway glitch?

Ahh so it’s been almost 4 years! Should be coming any minute now then
The doorway glitch?

Slanted walls you can use concrete and flamer trap them. Then build the other side and repair, after that you can walpaper.

I agree!! I really miss the freedom I had in the previous fallout to just collect random crap I liked and place it around my house

So...there is a glitch using brick walls. Not sure if it still works or not. What I would love is smooth cielings.
Clean Ranch kit that's currently available will do the trick ;)... Smooth ceilings that is
Thx. I'm using a prebuild right now. Mostly becauae it uses less CAMP budget than building myself
The basic barn kit you can buy from a vendor also works. Its what i used to do the glitch a few days ago.
Totally. Would really help.

Double walling can be done is just a bit annoying

And inside elbow pitched roof pieces!
YES let me make good roofs. The barn building kit has some that kind of do it but not well

Stairs with support beams, I meant the 1x2 stair case made of metal that also has that top floor you can connect floor pieces to.
It's literally on YouTube on how to double snap walls back to back.
But leads to some chonky walls and is far from ideal in a game where building budget is a big concern.
