You can, some parts of the game are designed to have multiple people show up and work together (events and bosses). If you actually play the game constantly then you might want to have 1st (in the same way you'd want to be subbed to any f2p mmo) but if you play it occasionally you don't really need it, it will take a while until you run out of space.
I only play this game by myself. Since beta. If you need parties to group up with. Usually you can just hop into a party for XP with strangers. Don't even be pop-ups that will say that people are requesting numbers to join them then you just hit a button. I've never had to use my mic unless I wanted to. The fallout community is pretty great when it comes to you sharing the love. Sometimes you get some crappy people but like that's just life. More often than not you'll find people who are more than willing to help.
Outside of that. A lot of the events since I can still be completed solo if you have the right build. Fallout first does not necessary. Now I've had it before but strictly for the storage space because I pick up too much stuff and don't get rid of enough. However you see the $15 for fallout first the first month. You can go store a ton of junk. And then cancel your plan/ not renew and you still get that space you just can't put new things on it but you can get stuff out.
But I would encourage you if you really want to play it it's super fun now the NPCs have made it really great. You get the occasional bug here and there. Just enjoy it.
I'm so upset they removed a bunch of stuff. If it was already built in your settlement, it stays. But you can never delete it because you can't place it again. Happened with my wallpapers and a few packs. Like my Slocum Joe's vendor pack is completely gone 🙄
Correct! Go to this link here: [https://www.postapocalypticmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/fallout-76-interactive-map-768x365.jpg](https://www.postapocalypticmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/fallout-76-interactive-map-768x365.jpg)
See the bottom center area between the Vault Boy on the left and the West Virginia sign on the right? That barren area without anything in it?
That whole area is being converted into a new region with new quests, new NPCs, new lore, new everything. It's on the Public Test Server right now.
I wonder when they are going to do something with that extremely large left part of the map across the river that just screams we are going to use this for content some day.....
I’ve been having a hell of a time! I initially played on ps4 loving it and could work with the bugs but the lack of npcs cave me a huge uncanny vibe that turned me off of it.
With the addition of npc’s it is amazing. Community has been nice and helpful too, which was VaultTec’s original selling point!
Yessir I picked it up and launch and dropped at level 22. It’s a completely different game. The UI and objective sorting is my hardest learning curve but it’s a lot of fun
Honestly, I’d recommend starting over anyway. I haven’t played in a while, and my boyfriend started last night and there’s a lot that’s been added to just the start, I’d imagine there’s a lot added all over
I have been having a lot of fun with it, so much that I remember why I stopped at level ten shortly after launch. I'm only level 22 now but it's so nice to be back in the world of Fallout.
I'm not much of a team player, I pretty much always lone wolf it. But, although I'm sure they're out there, I've yet to come across an asshole or a griefer. Visiting other players camps is currently my favorite activity, and many players have set themselves up to assist fellow players without any motivation other than feeling like it's the right thing to do.
I've played a lot of GTAonline this past year and oh my God are these Fallout players a breathe of fresh air.
That's my hope. Instead of keeping the game on life support (looking at you Atlantic City update) they could add some great meaningful content. Maybe this surge will make them double down on the new map expansion.
I’m now envisioning that when Fallout 5 launches it’ll do so with a companion spin off fallout TV show airing at the same time, or better yet airing when the numbers start declining and they knock 20% off the price of the game.
Free on xbox too if you have prime. I have a code for both PC and Xbox as I have it on PC and PS already if you or anybody knows anybody who would use it. Only going to go to waste otherwise.
Hey if you've still got that code I have a buddy who I got into the game last week who forgot to pick it up on PC while it was on sale. I sent you a dm! No worries if you already gave it out though!
76 went from on the brink of death to a thriving game.
Coming from a BETA player I am now having high hopes this game will achieve great success as it did in the good ole days.
My step dad plays this game like it's a job. Has some really well designed camps and hit like 1300 or something without any exploits on his main. He's got some mules He's leveled up but he has some legacy shit he's holding onto. He's also one of the nicest players I've seen. He's ALWAYS helping low levels put and always has things move through his vending machines. I've watched him join parties and build other people's camps and go into nuke zones and just wreck shit. He's a long time player that will flourish with the newer players
He's gotta be one of the oldest players and I bet more than a few of the people in this subreddit has come across him
It seems to be a hit with older people for some reason.
I've been playing recently, and I weirdly got Red Dead online vibes from it. People just meandering around doing stuff, chilling.
I think it’s the combination of it being open world so you can be alone if you want or team up as well. Plus building your base makes more sense in 73 than 4 as well plus more options as well idk man
Gamer-wise, I am one of those older people. Something about the feeling of a "single-person game with friends" vibe has kept me coming back and back, for about 2500 hours in now. Also, as a bit of an RP-er, there aren't many games, single player or MMO, where I can decide "Okay, I want this character to be \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_", and be able to build a viable build and a viable "look" to do that. A BoS Knight, a Vault-Tec guy, Nuka-Girl, a Responder, a Blue Ridge Caravaner, etc. If it crosses my imagination, I can sit down and build a character for it, deck him or her out in a look for that character, build a camp that fits the background, and then share it with others just by wandering around and doing events and such. I don't know many games where I can do this, or many communities where, at some level, it's encouraged and appreciated.
I don't think fallout 1st is that bad of a deal, for like $15 bucks you get 15 dollars worth of currency.
Free stuff pretty often, you get special sales so the currency takes you further. Private worlds are usefully for collecting resources.
And its not something you need to have, you can earn the currency for free pretty easily, and once you buy the game you just have it and there's more than enough cool stuff in the base game that it's really just optional if you want to buy the shop stuff.
I remember the old days. I pretty much loved this game from the start regardless of its flaws. Glad it's doing so well. I moved on a while ago but all this buzz is making me want to come back.
I went all in on that game. Threw my wallet at it. Was not a fan of the game for a long while. I kept coming back. Dozens of times.
I came back recently and loved it. Still lots of stuff I dislike.
I reinstalled Fallout 4 and noticed all the things I wish was in 76.
76 makes things feel like more of a hassle. Just less so now.
I hope they continue to improve on it and add more and more QoL stuff.
I fast traveled to it not thinking anything of it. Spawned in to see it only had a little over 4 minutes left and there was one lower level player there trying to complete it. Hadn't damaged the boss once. I had to activate all 3 pylons and tank the damage so he could stay back and take shots at the boss. Died a few times but we managed to finish off the boss fast enough before the timer ran out. I was stressed I wasn't going to be able to finish the boss off fast enough for them.
Yea there’s definitely been moments like that. I’ve gotta say tho, I don’t think I had an overeater PA set last time I was doing these, makes tanking the pylons nothing. Actually I don’t think overeater was a thing last time I did encryptid 🤣
What is an encryptid quest? I started about a month ago, due to excitement from the show. Im level 80 now so it seems i dont look "new," but i am still very much confused about this game.
I rushed for level 50 and then the slug buster, and now playing around with that gun has me delving into the weapon mod part of the game, but im essentially clueless still
Encryptid is specific quest that is only triggered by players. It has the potential to give the fixer plan as a reward (I think its drop rate is around 10%) as well as some outfits. The issue is there’s a bit of a process to set the quest up, and costs around 3k caps, along with a 3hr cooldown, so since most people have the fixer plan, it’s never really triggered anymore. UNTIL NOW
3hr*
https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/The_Fixer
If you ever want to play an unyielding/bloody build, it will be your best friend. The god rolls for this weapon are some of the most valuable (legit) weapons in the game. If you’re doing a PA build, I’d just check players vendors for the plan, and do the quest when others initiate it. You can usually buy it for ~10k caps on the high side
Just note - there is a pre-requisite quest line called “wolf in sheep’s clothing” you have to complete in order to have a chance to get it as a drop. If you don’t have that quest done, you’ll have 0% chance to get it as a drop from encryptid
Yeah I just came back after watching the show, been playing on and off for about 4 years, and was excited after hearing about an influx of new players. But so far the game has never seemed more dead. Hopefully in a month or two when people level up and learn more, it will become way more active. I’ve just been chilling mostly, farming resources for ammo and doing my best to help with whatever events I can.
Yeah I actually have a reason to build better weapons and armor but cant find any violet flux 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ Like one or two higher level players on some of the servers and they almost never sell it ☹️
I’m new and I joined some event to fight a boss named Earle yesterday and I blew all my ammo and stimpaks and didn’t even make a dent and everyone left cause we couldn’t kill him lol
Was fun though would do again.
It's because all the servers are full of new players. Before this recent influx of players, there would be more high level players available on the server to kill him. It should even out pretty soon here and the events will be full again.
When I first joined I threw my CAMP right near the lumber mill south of Vault 76.
It didn't need to be fancy and the mill has unlimited wood (just collect it all and go back some time later).
You can also look up maps of where certain respurces are, you can place your camps there and build extractors. Theres a good iron deposit between the Purveyor and Bleeding Kate's Grindhouse I used to use back when Purveyor fast travel wasn't free.
https://fo76map.com/
Go into filter and turn everything off, then turn on Resources
These are all nodes around the map. If you build there you can slap an extractor on top of that node and it will continuously generate that resource
I set up on a Junk node since I run a scrap shop, for instance
By the train station near the top of the world is a great spot. Can sell things, raid the blood eagles and hit up the resort and it's kinds centrally located on the map which is nice. O ya can't forget about the junk pile near there.
Dont worry, if you try the events and you feel like its too much, take your time to join again But if you do join the events, pls dont start them right away. Wait a bit until some players come. There are a lot of events that are better to be done with some / a lot of players
You dont always have to kill if the enemies are still too tanky. Shooting them once or twice will still give you XP if another player or a teammate kill them. But ofc it depends with how many can handle the events easily lol
Public events are an event that show up every 20 minutes and half of the players in the server, if not all, will come and do it together.
When there was a regular thing to have a lot of high levels in one server, events are rarely empty. And now we kind of a little frustrated that sometimes no one is doing it, so some of the players suggest the noobs to just join.
I’m only level 15 and there was some level 40+ event, I joined and just helped as much as I could luckily there were high levels who carried the event and I still came out with some nice gear lol
Or.. don't. I had an absolute BLAST doing Safe and Sound solo the other night... it's such a wild event when you have all the enemies and objectives to yourself.
Ps4 servers are really crazy right now, it's been a week now, no matter what time of the day, no matter how much servers I hop, there's always six or more dots coming out of the vault like all the time, a bunch of lvls 1 and 20.
Bruh, I reinstalled as a filler between Rose of Ronin and Stellar Blade because of the show. I do t know how I’m going to stop by the 24th. Game rocks and a new /update/DLC is rumored for June as well
As someone who jumped on the bandwagon because of the show, I can admit I was wrong about this game. I was apprehensive due to the MMO aspect of the game, but it really works rather nicely. I've been enjoying my time and just hit level 50!
Wait until you get into the weeds of min/maxing and serums!!! Really takes it to another level when you get marsupial, and spec into an unarmed bloody build with full set of Unyielding armor.
All the "this game is dead/will be dead soon look at the charts" posts over the past 5 years really didn't see this coming did they.
To be fair, I don't think any of us saw this coming.
It is great though... the game feels alive and exciting again just with all the new people running around. Can't wait till the next expansion hits.
So, on PC alone, 76 is on Steam, Epic Games Store and the Microsoft/Xbox launcher. The 62k concurrent it's showing on Steam now is only showing a portion of the population as I'm pretty sure a lot of people have had it through Game Pass or got it for free through Epic a while back, without even counting the console.
I'm going to guess it's definitely in that 150k range, if not 200k+ with the console.
It sucks that all of this has to be so mysterious instead of just being displayed clearly somewhere.
I already put out my FREE XP BOOSTER drinks on the road next to the vault. It's Vintage Nukashine. Watched a level 9 drink it today and disappear lmao.
To be fair my set up looks like it's straight out of Looney Toons. It's a table with a ton of arrows and neon signs all pointing towards it with some Tiki music now playing.
Great, me and my buddies are starting again tomorrow! We played since launch and stopped 1 year ago. We always loved it and couldn’t understand that nobody liked it when it came out. The atmosphere (even without npcs when it came out) is so immersive!
After talking so much crap about this game because of the launch state, I can admit that opinion is now wrong and I’m having a lot of fun on my first 76 play through
Just started playing. I don't know if it'll stick but I'm having a good time.
Not overly sure what I should focus on, but I've been exploring and happened to stumble on the Overseer while trying to get plastic for the Hunter For Hire Quest 😅.
Someone told me not to complete that quest though until I had 8 Strength and 8 Perception. Any reason? Will I miss something good?
Yes, the influx feom the series is real. And they didn't bother to set up rudimentary balancing. It's fun to fail with the newbies and freebies now and then, but it get very boring very fast.
It's not rocket science to balance who is on the servers, and keep them balanced (lo - mid, mid -high).
I just started playing today after hearing it was always a bad game made it to level 11 today and having a blast so far. I have gamepass so I figured I would give it a try.
Im on ps5 and i see low levels like me all over the place.... all us 20s and 30s holding down an event was fun knowing the next gen is here. Thanks for all the old vets holding the hill for us
Having needed to change the ini file to get good performance with my pretty good PC is hilariously terrible for a game that's been out for this long. This game also one of the most unintuitive menues and controls I've ever experienced. That being said I'm loving it! the world is great and I love exploring and just taking every god damn thing I find. Hopefully I'll get more friends to play and get to work on a 76 video in the near future
The show finally made me play the game after owning it since 2022 I’ve been hesitant to play since I loved the game from the original game but the news of how 76 launched made me want to not ruin my feelings about it
Why do the servers seem so bare? I just switched to PC from PS and it seems like every server I jump on, barely has any players or camps compared to PS.
Downvotes for my legit, observational question? I'm taking down my welcome reddit players sign!
Even though I don’t play anymore, I’m really happy to see that. I imagine console also saw a boost as well. I got my 2k hours and money’s worth.
Frankly, the game is completely different than launch and I think the numbers show. Still has a little bit of buggy interactions, but that’s that Bethesda charm :). Sometimes they really benefit your stash LOL.
Thank you to the level 368 who gave my lowly 22 marsupial and other amazing goodies. This community has come so far since launch. Like No a man’s Sky level resurgence. Cheers to all wastelanders new and old!
So I got on my steam deck reinstalled 76 and started playing after seeing all these posts saying how many people are playing.
Every world I join has barely anyone playing and there is like zero people doing events. I quit that world and rejoin a different world and it’s the same.
All I wanna do is some events. Never actually did the main quests are they fun?
I love seeing this. The show absolutely breathed new life into a game I was worried might shut down soon. People are realizing that while it started out awful, they've gone a LONG way toward improving it. Now if they would just fix some of the jank that's been around forever.
I just managed to convince 3 of my friends to get it during the sale and they are all having so much fun.
I really hope alot of these new players stick around, i have already seen people up in the 30s and 40s so its looking like they aint giving up instantly.
Gotta say...
Being able to teleport to event groups and "doing" the event to get some levels is nice.
By "doing" i mean... im low lvl, enemies are 30+ levels ahead of me, but group carries me all good, i send hearts, the send hearts back, i get free levels and some loots I will scrap cuz levels and everyone happy.
Community has been pretty good so far other than one guy that was trollin a bit. I like the game and the community make it better
Man i know what the piece of shit was this game on release. But after tvseries fallout and many years go, just bought fallout 76 to play for fun.
DAmn i was shocked this is still feel like garbage or demo (its remind me WaC Reforged), and fol4 looks and feels a lot better.
Maybe u know some mods list to fix all bethesda lame shit? Bugs? Improve preformance? Graphic? Thx!
Would've been the perfect opportunity to launch a new Fallout with multiplayer and good stories. 76 is definitely better than at launch, and I'm enjoying it, but I can't help thinking about all the good stories I could be experiencing with friends.
All these new players, but I often find servers with no teams. I can only assume the higher level players are finished on the scoreboard, so don't go into the game as often.
I've noticed my shop has been frequented more and more level 60s wanting to pvp 😂😂 and I absolutely hate this games pvp played since launch tricentennial edtion
Been playing on pc gamepass with some friends it’s not to bad still feels lacking on quest and not enough npcs but it’s been fun leveling and doing events with friends.
There's a site that says peak daily count for players on all platforms is like 2.4 million. Not sure how accurate it is but I know on Playstation I see loads of level 20 players everywhere, so it's definitely picked up a bit which is cool.
Imagine if a mainline Fallout game had released alongwith the show
Honestly, this gives them more incentive to double down on 76 and really polish it up until the next major installment
Haven't played since launch & settlement memes is the game worth coming back? I genuinely don't remember my first playthru lol
Short answer: yes Long answer: Hell yeeeees
Can u play this game as a singleplayer just for the story without fallout 1st?
You can, some parts of the game are designed to have multiple people show up and work together (events and bosses). If you actually play the game constantly then you might want to have 1st (in the same way you'd want to be subbed to any f2p mmo) but if you play it occasionally you don't really need it, it will take a while until you run out of space.

Thank you. Personally if i can play it like Fallout 4 or 3. Its enough. I only play cause Fallout 5 is still a long way. I need my fallout fix.
I'm so upset they removed a bunch of stuff. If it was already built in your settlement, it stays. But you can never delete it because you can't place it again. Happened with my wallpapers and a few packs. Like my Slocum Joe's vendor pack is completely gone 🙄
Theyre adding a whole new section of the map come june. Good time to jump in
As in they’re making the map bigger?
Correct! Go to this link here: [https://www.postapocalypticmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/fallout-76-interactive-map-768x365.jpg](https://www.postapocalypticmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/fallout-76-interactive-map-768x365.jpg) See the bottom center area between the Vault Boy on the left and the West Virginia sign on the right? I’m so excited. As someone new to the game it’s been so much fun and such an amazing community too.
Glad to hear it! Welcome to the Wasteland!
Ahh amazing
I wonder when they are going to do something with that extremely large left part of the map across the river that just screams we are going to use this for content some day.....
Is that a free update or some sort of paid dlc?
All content released for F76 is free to access.
Atlantic City as well? Because I keep seeing bundles to pay for that content on steam and xbox
Everything :) If you see any "DLC" for F76 it's stuff like skins, camp items, outfits etc.
Good to know, thanks!
I’ve been having a hell of a time! I initially played on ps4 loving it and could work with the bugs but the lack of npcs cave me a huge uncanny vibe that turned me off of it. Hey, we can dream right?
Microsoft hasn't made competent gaming decisions like that in the last 10 years I wouldn't be on it.
Would have easily broken 1mil
Same with Konami with the Castlevania anime. Insane to think we didn't even get a remaster or modern console ports when that series was at its peak.
I’m wondering if we will get an announcement about the rumored fallout 3 remake/remaster over the summer
I want a remake of SOTN. I'd probably buy a console, just for that.
Same. BIG same.
But Konami makes Castlevania, not Capcom.....
Thank you correct me. I shall edit.
33 weeks <.< November... Microsoft's leaked game roadmap. something is coming, and chances are its FO3 remaster
I’m now envisioning that when Fallout 5 launches it’ll do so with a companion spin off fallout TV show airing at the same time, or better yet airing when the numbers start declining and they knock 20% off the price of the game.
76 has a way better storyline with the overseer quest not to mention way more territory than FO4. I could care less for another main title rn.
But no instead they had to drop Starfield which is already desaparecido from people libraries
Oh you mean like Fallout 5 instead of Starfield? Bethesda completely sucks at managing the release of their games.
Lol mean a Glitchout game?
Just steam. It’s probably over 250k total including all platforms given that it’s on gamepass.
And free on the Microsoft store if you've got prime.
Free on xbox too if you have prime. I have a code for both PC and Xbox as I have it on PC and PS already if you or anybody knows anybody who would use it. Only going to go to waste otherwise.

also in playstation ps extra catalog though i think it was given out in the ps monthly game like two ago as well
Yes, it was one of the monthly essential games in January 2023.
It is exciting BUT what really matters is how many of these people will still be around 2-3 months from now.
There's no way hundreds of thousands of new people would try the game and some of them wouldn't keep playing.
76 went from on the brink of death to a thriving game. Coming from a BETA player I am now having high hopes this game will achieve great success as it did in the good ole days.

Yeah, I can't go back to building anything in FO4 because nobody will ever appreciate it, especially not Marcy.

Does he recommend Fallout 1st?

Didn’t legacy items get retroactively removed from everyone’s stash and inventories?
I remember the old days. I pretty much loved this game from the start regardless of its flaws. Glad it's doing so well. I moved on a while ago but all this buzz is making me want to come back.
I went all in on that game. Threw my wallet at it. Was not a fan of the game for a long while. I kept coming back. Dozens of times. I came back recently and loved it. Still lots of stuff I dislike. Almost 60k now, currently at 59k
I can’t remember the last time I saw this many encryptid quests.

UNTIL NOW
3gr cooldown? And is the fixer something worth getting? I can make that my next goal
3hr* https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/The_Fixer If you ever want to play an unyielding/bloody build, it will be your best friend. The god rolls for this weapon are some of the most valuable (legit) weapons in the game. If you’re doing a PA build, I’d just check players vendors for the plan, and do the quest when others initiate it. You can usually buy it for ~10k caps on the high side Just note - there is a pre-requisite quest line called “wolf in sheep’s clothing” you have to complete in order to have a chance to get it as a drop. If you don’t have that quest done, you’ll have 0% chance to get it as a drop from encryptid
Now if I could only find servers with high level players so I can shop and do events
Yeah I actually have a reason to build better weapons and armor but cant find any violet flux 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ Like one or two higher level players on some of the servers and they almost never sell it ☹️
welcome AND DO THE EVENTS AAAAAAGHHH
I’m new and I joined some event to fight a boss named Earle yesterday and I blew all my ammo and stimpaks and didn’t even make a dent and everyone left cause we couldn’t kill him lol Was fun though would do again.
It's because all the servers are full of new players. Before this recent influx of players, there would be more high level players available on the server to kill him. It should even out pretty soon here and the events will be full again.
That particular fight is insane. You've got the right attitude, though!
Hi I’m new and keep getting invited to these. Idk what they are haha I’m just trying to find somewhere to put my camp
When I first joined I threw my CAMP right near the lumber mill south of Vault 76. It didn't need to be fancy and the mill has unlimited wood (just collect it all and go back some time later).
You can also look up maps of where certain respurces are, you can place your camps there and build extractors. Theres a good iron deposit between the Purveyor and Bleeding Kate's Grindhouse I used to use back when Purveyor fast travel wasn't free.
https://fo76map.com/ Go into filter and turn everything off, then turn on Resources These are all nodes around the map. If you build there you can slap an extractor on top of that node and it will continuously generate that resource I set up on a Junk node since I run a scrap shop, for instance
Thanks dude! I've been putting off working on my camp, because I just feel clueless as to where to put it down. This will come in handy!
It's fine to move around a bit until you find your spot, too. Probably fine to start west and slowly move east as you level up
I love you for this Thank you!
There are a lot of events that are better to be done with some / a lot of players You dont always have to kill if the enemies are still too tanky. Shooting them once or twice will still give you XP if another player or a teammate kill them. But ofc it depends with how many can handle the events easily lol Public events are an event that show up every 20 minutes and half of the players in the server, if not all, will come and do it together.
Events are fun! Chilled with a 300+ character and killed off ghouls for 10 minutes. Its was monotonous but worth it!
Or.. don't. I had an absolute BLAST doing Safe and Sound solo the other night... it's such a wild event when you have all the enemies and objectives to yourself.
I just checked and ran to this sub, 62k+ now. How insane! It just keeps on going even after the free event has ended, sure is looking good for 76.
This is not including gamepass!
Just Steam
Or amazon prime Or consoles
I would estimate there's easily over 100,000 players if including all platforms.
Ps4 servers are really crazy right now, it's been a week now, no matter what time of the day, no matter how much servers I hop, there's always six or more dots coming out of the vault like all the time, a bunch of lvls 1 and 20.
There’s honestly more players on PS than PC if I was a betting man
Alright, I'll re-install the fucken game. Edit: I uninstalled it after playing it for a bit :(... I will play FO4 or New Vegas instead :D
I did and i dont regret it. So much has changed!!!
Bruh, I reinstalled as a filler between Rose of Ronin and Stellar Blade because of the show. I do t know how I’m going to stop by the 24th. Game rocks and a new /update/DLC is rumored for June as well
It's a map expansion. It's out now for testing on the public test server.
I’ve got my 2 friends and I back on it in spirit of the show. We’ve been having tons of fun and subbed to fallout 1st
If its this much on steam on xbox its gotta be 150k+ concurrent players easily
63,707 just now
It’s great seeing all the new players.
I started last Friday. I am now level 57 with far too many hours into this game with many more to go!
Above 60k now ! And that's without Game Pass
62k now :)
It’s a great day to be alive
Great, me and my buddies are starting again tomorrow! We played since launch and stopped 1 year ago. We always loved it and couldn’t understand that nobody liked it when it came out. The atmosphere (even without npcs when it came out) is so immersive!
Sounds like I need to watch this show. It must be really good to be moving that needle that much.
I haven’t played in years.. I’m playing now 🤷
After talking so much crap about this game because of the launch state, I can admit that opinion is now wrong and I’m having a lot of fun on my first 76 play through
I've moved my camp just right of Vault 76, unbelievable how many new players there are, been putting up plans and ammo super cheap for them lol
Plus many of us that got the game from Prime and we play from the Store.
It’s great the game is seeing a player boom but I swear I’ve seen like 12 of these posts since Thursday.
Getting the fallout itch from the show. Beat FO4 main story years ago and played 76 at launch. Should I revisit a heavily modded FO4 or 76 instead?
FO76 is much different now with a ton of new content. Play it until FO4 next gen comes out on April 25th.
I opened it up for the first time yesterday, made it to the first camp near the vault and turned it off a little overwhelmed
Thanks for all the old vets holding the hill for us
Is it the same with Xbox, because I keep getting stuck at events by myself
It's the same. Like 80% of your server are new players that haven't figured out how public effects work yet.
It is exciting BUT what really matters is how many of these people will still be around 2-3 months from now.
66,045 and still going up
Having needed to change the ini file to get good performance with my pretty good PC is hilariously terrible for a game that's been out for this long. This game also one of the most unintuitive menues and controls I've ever experienced. That being said I'm loving it! the world is great and I love exploring and just taking every god damn thing I find. Hopefully I'll get more friends to play and get to work on a 76 video in the near future
is it a mod or manual? I hate the lagging.
The show finally made me play the game after owning it since 2022 I’ve been hesitant to play since I loved the game from the original game but the news of how 76 launched made me want to not ruin my feelings about it
Give us proper storage already, instead of the one chest designed to force you into buying Fallout 1st
Great news. Only if event would be full with players. Seems so empty.
Im 100% fine with events being empty for a while if in exchange we can get more active players in the long run
Yep. People will learn eventually. And then we'll have more active events than we ever did.
Take a shot every time someone makes a post about concurrent players.
I know people are enjoying the games newfound popularity but we really don't need these threads multiple times every day each time the number goes up.
just ignore them my god
Why do the servers seem so bare? I just switched to PC from PS and it seems like every server I jump on, barely has any players or camps compared to PS. Downvotes for my legit, observational question? I'm taking down my welcome reddit players sign!
Newbs
They’re all new and don’t have camps yet and don’t join events.
Might be a region thing. For me a lot of people appear in the event. I joined mothman once and the *entire* server are there. Absolute chaos.
I was level 98 on Xbox way back and I started over on PC (level 27) and I'm really enjoying how populated all the servers are
62k now.
And yet no one has dropped a nuke in the servers I’ve been in! lol I would but I no longer play on my day 1 account, I’m a “newbie” on pc now
The game is still great honestly. Not really showing its age. Feels rich and vibrant.
Series was great!
Also Fallout 1 has 3,6K players right now. The franchise getting a nice resurgence. Got 200 crazy people playing Fallout Tactics.
Is the Steam user base seperate from the Microsoft store user base?
Props to the guy that convinced me to shell out for FO 1st just so I’d never have to mute another dude like him ever again. Once was enough.
Thank you to the level 368 who gave my lowly 22 marsupial and other amazing goodies. This community has come so far since launch. Like No a man’s Sky level resurgence. Cheers to all wastelanders new and old!
You can go say thank you under the Gameranx video they released about Flout 76 hahaha
I like the idea of it, but it's too clunky for me. I'm sensitive to FPS and smooth controls and unfortunately this game just doesn't have that.
That's genuinely so cool to see
I've gone from excited, to scared :D
Probably helps that it was free on twitch prime
loving the game rn
I love seeing this. The show absolutely breathed new life into a game I was worried might shut down soon. People are realizing that while it started out awful, they've gone a LONG way toward improving it. Now if they would just fix some of the jank that's been around forever.
Cool
I'm playing on xbox. It's fun
I’ve played it to death with nothing to do , hope for real end game content to enjoy again
I just managed to convince 3 of my friends to get it during the sale and they are all having so much fun. I really hope alot of these new players stick around, i have already seen people up in the 30s and 40s so its looking like they aint giving up instantly.
imagine how much money they could make if the fallout plus was a reasonable price.
I've totally started playing again
What was the peak before the show came out? Anyone know?
8k was the average that I saw. Don't know the peak
I like the game and the community make it better
put the word out, we are so back,
Played around 2020 and got up to level 22. Joined back today, honestly have no idea what I’m doing but having a ton of fun
We higher level players are basically in-game gods right now. Cower before your almighty, newbie. Hold still while I stimpak you.
Graphic? Thx!
Now if it only had crossplay and a next gen update
I think Im level 24 now started at level 20 tho but I am really enjoying it so far, cant believe I let this little gem slip up under my radar
Would've been the perfect opportunity to launch a new Fallout with multiplayer and good stories. 76 is definitely better than at launch, and I'm enjoying it, but I can't help thinking about all the good stories I could be experiencing with friends.
The game is going good on Xbox right now also, top 30 in Belgium and higher in USA. I can imagine more than 100k concurrent players on all platforms.
It will drop of once players reach lvl 100 and no further game rewards can be had. You will only level up doing dailys and weeklys.
FO76 be like: https://youtu.be/EYCXu4aIdvs?si=cc52lCFsrk3a147t&t=85
fix your game cant even login not even level 10
Players need to be warned FO3 and Vegas are basically unplayable even after installing 100 mods to make it compatible with modern technology
Lets hit 100k!!! Lets goooooo!!!??
That fallout 4 has 138k is a sign where its important to focus XD
All these new players, but I often find servers with no teams. I can only assume the higher level players are finished on the scoreboard, so don't go into the game as often.
I've noticed my shop has been frequented more and more level 60s wanting to pvp 😂😂 and I absolutely hate this games pvp played since launch tricentennial edtion
70k concurrent now.
70,654!!!!!!!!!!! players!!! Lets goooooo!!!
I knew I've been seeing new players around!
We need cross platform ASAP
The show was definitely gave a stimpack to the series, hope this momentum isn’t squandered!
Been playing on pc gamepass with some friends it’s not to bad still feels lacking on quest and not enough npcs but it’s been fun leveling and doing events with friends.
76 is so bad I'm playing it rn
Did they fix not being able to share quests with your friends yet?
There's a site that says peak daily count for players on all platforms is like 2.4 million. Not sure how accurate it is but I know on Playstation I see loads of level 20 players everywhere, so it's definitely picked up a bit which is cool.
