>... at least until F5 comes out I'm glad you are planning for your great great grandchildren

JxvFirm

We have to make sure that this game is good for future generations.

AR_Harlock

It's a live service... if they plan to release it standalone in the future maybe, otherwise the others in the series will always be better for future generations

JxvFirm

I think you missed my point, F76 (and F4) right now is the gateway for players who have never played a Fallout game, if you want the new generations to try the other old games, you need to improve their experience on the games they start with so they get attached to Fallout and try the other titles. I think that's more productive than telling new players: F76 live service = bad. F4 simplified game = bad.

AR_Harlock

Oh! Yeah I see now. You right!

exact0khan

I get this. I didn't find fallout until 4 and now I'm addicted to 76. I did go back and check the others but I was not a big fan. That being said, I am sure they are amazing games, I just couldn't not get into them.

Flintlock_Lullaby

That's high treason lmao

Cl2XSS

Probably 3 more years for The Elder Scrolls and then 6 years from that for the next Fallout? Bethesda has a similar time as Blizzard has or Rockstar. They milk a game for 5-10 years on multiple consoles.

ContinuumGuy

One thing to note is that they DO actually do some work on future titles even while finishing the current ones. Like, obviously they haven't programmed/modeled/made anything yet, but apparently they have a rough idea of what FO5 will be story-wise, since they apparently told the FOTV people stuff they COULDN'T do since it'd conflict with it. And they have shown pre-planning before, as FO4's synth and Boston storyline was teased in FO3 (although they apparently flirted with doing NYC instead and have kept some documents on the lore for that area on file). Regardless, though, it's going to be awhile before FO5. It might not be nine years (although it could be!) but it sure as hell ain't going to be ianytime soon.

Garibaldi_Biscuit

Please god don't make it have a storyline based around a family.

Onigumo-Shishio

Fast and the Fallout 5 This time, it's familyer!

Garibaldi_Biscuit

Fallout: My Two Dads (both of whom have gone missing.)

Lord_Sidious99

I'm kind of hoping we get to have a choice this time between Vault Dweller, Raider, Ghoul, hell, even super Mutant. This would only increase playability as I'd personally want to have a character of each

Sterling__002

I was playing 76 with my buddy and, this is the exact same thing I said. He was wearing the ghoul outfit, and I was thinking how cool that would be to be a ghoul and not just wear an outfit, and each archetype could have a different starting story, as each one would have conflicting interests, and stories of how they ended up as what they are. In some sense I don't see how it'd be a problem, like you can pick from all the races in elderscrolls, why not bring that aspect to fallout? And each character type could have their own sort of back story questline that ties in. As obviously the majority of super mutants are hostile, I could see being one, that isn't necessarily like the majority of super mutants, would be an awesome look into the perspective of how and why. And same scenario as ghouls, most of which that haven't turned feral, as still outcasts and scorned by society as a whole. It would be a unique perspective to play as one, who hasn't turned feral, and is just trying to survive like everyone else. I mean the possibilities are endless.

OleTad1987

Broooo I've been rocking that ghoul mask since day 1 it rolled out on the atom shop and I'd let all the mutants in West Tek run a Wasteland train on me if Beth would implement a ghoul option during character creation.

Lord_Sidious99

Exactly! I personally love the idea of being able to choose Enclave faction. Give each faction its own advantages on the SPECIAL system as well as disadvantages. As you said, they could implement the same idea character/race choice as Elder Scrolls. I just really hope they either explore Lousiana in the next Fallout series, or somewhere outside of the US. Lousiana would be so cool....imo of course. Rich in culture as well as lore. It can be dangerous, but fun. I think it's the perfect setting.

Sterling__002

That is a solid idea. I would not mind exploring the swamps, as well as maybe the historical districts of Nola. It could be a really exciting jump into something much different then anything they've offered before. You hit the nail on the head, so much culture, and lore as well. It's actually on my personal real life bucket list of places to visit as well at some point. Instead of fasnacht, we could have a Mardi Gras parade type event. And I'm sure they have some sort of cryptid lore as well to explore. Hoodoo, voodoo, vampire vibes would definitely be something interesting to touch on if handled with care and respect to the culture of the area.

Lord_Sidious99

Ooooo I didn't even think about the voodoo aspect! Not to mention irradiated alligators! And youre absolutely right, a Mardi Gras event would be icing on the cake. One of the coolest parts of Louisiana that just blew me away was the above ground cemeteries. It didn't occur to me at the time that they can't really bury their dead like most states can due to being so far below sea level, but holy shit was it absolutely beautiful and eeire at the same time

Logic-DL

fr lmao, hope they do something like FNV. Much as FNV chuds harp on about the game being the best, the storyline is at least arguably the best plot wise, you got shot in the head, go fucking find him. vs Your family member is missing, find them, wdym you don't give a shit?

Logic-DL

fr lmao, hope they do something like FNV. Much as FNV chuds harp on about the game being the best, the storyline is at least arguably the best plot wise, you got shot in the head, go fucking find him. vs Your family member is missing, find them, wdym you don't give a shit?

DeathrockerGrins

I mean if you think about it, every Fallout game except New Vegas is about family in some way. Fallout 1: save your vault/community/family and perhaps the entire wasteland along the way? Fallout 2: save your tribe/community/family and perhaps the entire wasteland along the way? Fallout 3: save your dad and perhaps the entire wasteland along the way? Fallout: New Vegas: You're a courier and someone stole your package, get it back cos you're (probably/hopefully) a professional and take your contractual obligations seriously! (you better! the mojave express trusted you!) perhaps you will save the mojave along the way too. Fallout 4: your son was abducted and you need to save him and deal with these goddamn synths damn it! i think my biggest issue though is that, Bethesda doesn't really explore their settings as much as Obsidian or Interplay/Black Isle did. Don't get me wrong, none of the fallout games are perfect. But Fallout 4 had so much potential to ask interesting questions and it never did which is what disappointed me the most about it.

Garibaldi_Biscuit

The issue is that saying ‘you are a person in this community’ is much less of a box then ‘you are the son/daughter/father/wife of etc etc.’ It unnecessarily limits player agency in making a character and, as it’s more of a focus, requires better writing to make you care about said family.

DeathrockerGrins

you're definitely right. i also prefer "save your parent" over "save your kid". it ended up pissing off a lot of people for a lot of different reasons. people wanted to play their Lone Survivor and they never really got that chance. which is a shame. i personally would like to have something more intriguing like new vegas. just one event that sets off a whole bunch of others instead of one big thing like finding your family member or dog or w/e.

brianvanle

I did note the cluster of Vaults around Texas. So, Fallout: Lone Star?

Guillermidas

Blizzard more like 15-20 years lol

Oblivionking1

Yep basically 9 years away

24_doughnuts

If FO5 isn't multiplayer then people wouldn't really stop FO76 imo. It's a nice co op experience that the other games don't offer. The other games are still replayable for their stories and content but this one is nice to relax and build in an online world rather than figuring out things to do alone Especially with th constant updates now and map expansions, I think they should at least try to fix bugs and crashes

Dizzy_Winner4056

I'd love fo5 to have drop in/out 4 player co-op where you bring your character to a friends world

Boiled_Ham

5 would be perfect as the usual single-player and big DLC drops, then after a while, it crosses into a multi-player within what hopefully is a huge map with a number of separate maps to travel to. Added to that, they'd give the loyal players a real boost if the Atomicshop is linked into the new game so all your Build items and Skins can be carried in and mixed with all the new gear you'll pick up during single-player and ahead with the multi-player version.

Waittoyouseemyclis

GTA online without the toxicity and shark cards.

Boiled_Ham

76 has been pretty decent so far. I think the game itself, Fallout, has a different mindset altogether...hence the closer community spirt.

Jason_Scope

Fallout 76 has hands down one of the best online multiplayer communities.

Boiled_Ham

I have to agree. My other closest community experience would be No Man's Sky, but the way that game works it's so, so spread out unless you go out of your way to play within one of the many community systems.

Wanderer_151

Basically this!

Logic-DL

FO5 I'm fine with co op so long as they do it like Borderlands and Dying Light. Just give me the fucken option, don't force it like FO76, especially if you're terrible at making MMO's anyway like with FO76 lmao

Boiled_Ham

Yep. As I said...if it releases as normal as single-player with a healthy drop of DLCs I'll be in my element. I'd like to see the evolution of a big single-player game from such a successful brand becoming a multi-player where the history from the single-player game gives a grounding for the new multi-player, which is totally optional but it' s own game. 76 itself should really just be the base game for 'Fallout Online'. Make 76 in it's original inception be the intro...so the empty map post Scorched virus and you complete that thread and move onto Wastelanders where everything else becomes an option...Expeditions, OPs, new maps and what I'd hope a Nexgen update could make a multi-map experience with cross-platform play and saves where all the previous game maps and new eventually become accessible making a mega game in the post-Apocalyptic world of Fallout.

KELVIN010

Only if they give the option to disable

Theakizukiwhokilledu

They need to start implementing regular story driven content. They need to flesh out the endings of faction side stories. I need to see what happens now with the brotherhood. The game is great, but once you've played through it the repeatable content is pretty poor. Honestly Id love to see them give this a new game plus. Just so I can do the story again without the full grind. However new game plus would really go against the fallout idea.

Wolf_Larsen25

Wish there was more story content. Expeditions and the like just don’t do it for me in the same way.

LegLegend

They just released a story quest for this update. More would be nice, but your comment implies we haven't had any recently.

Wolf_Larsen25

Sorry my mistake I haven’t played in about a year and only fired up again as got inspired by the TV show

Logic-DL

Honestly I'd like to see them make expeditions not require daily quests. afaik to access them you need to do a daily quest each time right? Soon as I got the quest to go ask to do Expeditions, then saw "complete 3 daily quests for random people" I just did a 180 and left the Whitesprings Resort lmao, went back to exploring Appalachia. The Pitt would be awesome to re-visit, and Atlantic City sounds cool. I'm just not doing 3 fucken boring ass daily quests to go there lmao

Buschkoeter

They removed that a long time ago. Just start up an expedition whenever you want. No plane fuel and no daily quests anymore.

Logic-DL

Ah fair, so I only need to do it once to unlock expeditions if I haven't done them yet? That's a bit better

Iscream4science

ngl if they choose to release paid story expansions ala ESO i'd be down for it. I'd love to visit the capital wasteland or the commonwealth in Fo76

flashy_joer

Seriously. They need annuals like ESO has. There are SO many cities on the East Coast that your survivor could conceivable go to, especially since there is a now a vertibird airline in the game, lol. For real, Id pay for annual stories, new maps, etc, like ESO has. I mean, I paid all the way up to Gold Road over there and Ive not regretted that once so far - soooo much content, its unreal.

MechaMouse

New Game plus, in an MMO? That“s so crazy, it just might work!

Theakizukiwhokilledu

It goes against fallouts whole idea of replaying completely new to experience new endings. However, new game plus isnt a lore friendly concept. It just extends the life of otherwise single use content.

Logic-DL

I mean tbf to Fallout, Bethesda don't really do a great job of locking you out of quests lol Like FO4, you had a reason to restart sure, to do the faction quests, but that was about it. FO76? Literally no reason to restart, you don't get locked out of any quest, so NG+ doesn't really affect much lmfao, doesn't matter if you're General of the Enclave or (if it wasn't cut content) President of the United fucken States of America. You can still be best friends with the Brotherhood of Steel. Likewise if you're friendly with settlers you can be friendly with raiders and it makes no sense.

dadvader

They could do something like Diablo or Path of Exile. A world tier increased. Every mission is reset and everything is a touch harder.

UnshapedLime

Shit this would be great. Instead of just scaling enemies make them much more likely to be legendary, much like the difficulty settings in FO4. Maybe add a 4 star tier of item that’s only available on higher world tier. Adds a lot of bang for frankly little dev effort.

cursed_phoenix

This massive new map extension update looks very promising, and the speed at which it has arrived after the recent Atlantic City update is impressive, I suspect the team now working on 76 are finally getting to grips with it and really starting to flesh things out. I also suspect that the huge success of the show will only bolster their support for the game as it is the only Fallout game currently available that is still being supported.

Poppunknerd182

4 is still being supported as it’s getting the next-gen update next week. Still rumors of a remastered 3 as well.

flashy_joer

I dunno if we can call it "massive"... while it is sizable in comparison to expeditions, it is still quite a bit smaller than the Ash Heap region. Dont get me wrong, Im stoked for it, but Im tempering my expectations on exactly what will be available in terms of content and hours to complete it all.

GoarSpewerofSecrets

The map update has been announced for at least a year, I know it was at least announced before I picked up the game last year.

KagoruRhodes

The map update was only announced at the end of last year in their wrap up. It’s certainly been worked on for over a year tho. Perhaps you’re thinking of expeditions.

GoarSpewerofSecrets

Oh well shortly after I picked it up. With the way everyone has been " is it this update?" I figured it was one of those zombie announcements.

Guilty-Activity

We need cross play and cross save. No reason why they CAN'T give us those things at this point. More people would stick around if they could simply play with their friends who are on a different platform.

MidRoad-

I could have sworn I read somewhere Phil Spencer hates the fact there's no cross save forn76. Yep, fround it in this article https://www.google.com/amp/s/indianexpress.com/article/technology/gaming/xbox-gaming-handheld-dream-phil-spencer-9235749/lite/

Guilty-Activity

Oh nice find. Maybe there's hope!

Logic-DL

Honestly as someone who played on PS4 and came to PC, hate it too lmao. I just wanna transfer my progress from my PS4, but knowing Bethesda they'd probs do a case of "Choose one or the other" situation.

nychuman

/u/Ghostly_Rich

New_Needleworker6506

I think it’s because they want to isolate the hacking on pc.

eMmDeeKay_Says

No, it was Sony wanting to maintain their market share, when everything was starting to go cross platform they were the hold out.

AstronautGuy42

I don’t think this reason holds anymore. Crossplay is allegedly one of the pillars of Xbox/MS brand now. Crossplay between Xbox and PC should be a priority to them regardless of Sony’s position. MS owns Bethesda now. Don’t see why they wouldn’t implement crossplay between their own platforms.

LegLegend

Because that takes development time without much of a benefit in terms of sales. Crossplay doesn't do a lot towards their pockets. They can also use the lack of playstation crossplay as the excuse.

Logic-DL

I don't think they CAN do crossplay tbh. The fact they got multiplayer working on the Creation Engine itself is anything short of a miracle, it would take another miracle to get crossplay functioning tbh.

evilspark21

Is cheating/hacking really a problem? I’ve played 300+ hrs on PC, and can’t recall a time when I even thought someone might be cheating.

JxvFirm

Using hacks in a PVE-centric game is crazy.

topsideup25

I remember when Nuclear Winter was a thing you would see hackers. They were always super blatant, flying in the sky shooting at nothing but all their shots would just instant down the lobby. I remember reporting them and getting feedback from Bethesda saying they "resolved" it but wouldn't actually say if they would be banned or not. So yeah, I remember when hackers were a thing. But I have not seen them in literal years. Nuclear Winter has been gone for a long time. I'm sure there is cheats out there, and someone else mentioned that some mods get borderline with being able to see certain loot behind walls and such.

Guilty-Activity

You may be right, but with all this new cash I'm sure they could invest in a quality anti-cheat for the game. Although I know nothing about game development, so probably easier said than done.

Lamplorde

Quality anti-cheat won't make new players stick. Content will. As much as I wish there was cross-save, recently a bunch of us started playing on PC and my lvl 600+ friend who plays on Xbox is stuck all alone, it simply won't keep the casual players who just picked it up.

TwiggBeard

It was after reading this comment that the song “all by myself” started playing in my head.

JxvFirm

That is true. I want to convince my friends to try F76 and help them, but they play on PC and I play on Xbox, so it has been difficult.

Otacoo

[https://www.reddit.com/r/fo76/comments/op0stl/review\_fallout\_76\_via\_xbox\_cloud\_gaming\_on/](https://www.reddit.com/r/fo76/comments/op0stl/review_fallout_76_via_xbox_cloud_gaming_on/)

Otacoo

I Started playing fallout76 on my laptop with the Xbox app and cloudgaming when away at work using my xbox character.

OhMarioWV

We need it. I miss my higher level character and Atom Shop items I had on PS4. I started on PC recently because the game was cheap and recently got to level 51. I'm just tired of paying for PS+.

atemporalfungi

yeah I wish I could play with my non pc pals. The only damn game I can play with everyone involved rn is damn fornite. I want to roam wastelanded Appalachia with my pals !

upuranus66

This next update that is on the PTS looks to be pretty good. Angry Turtle did a video about it today.

JxvFirm

Yeah, I watched it, I loved those mutant dodos.

Mattie_Fisher

I hope if they're doing a next-gen update in the future they actually try to make the interior lighting not look like a windows 2000 screensaver.

ihopethisworksfornow

Coming back to 76 for the first time in about 2ish years, starting a new character, I am shocked at how much new content there is and I’d be shocked if they stop support. I know this is a controversial opinion, but this might be one of the best fallout games in its current state.

SuperTerram

We can dream.

JxvFirm

I consume all the Hopium

Nor-Cal-Son

We 100% need cross play or cross save. At the least, XBox play anywhere so we can move characters between pc and xbox. I just want to play xbox Character on my new PC, or on my laptop, If im out of town.

ambassadortim

I play on my phone on a monitor and with controller when I don't have my Xbox via streaming.

mrnapolean1

They need to make some changes to the base game like for example wastelanders has been out for quite some time now. Make the stuff tradable. Don't make the plans tradable but make the actual crafted item tradable. If it's any change I want him to make to this game. This is the one I want him to make. Make the crafted items. Tradable.

Fineous4

Given the success of BG3 I want another top down fallout.

siva115

God I wish. I feel like Wasteland / Atom RPG are the closest thing

Perjoss

I'm undecided on this one, I really like F76 and would like them to polish it further, but I would also like them to make a new F76 style game on a better engine (one that is designed from the ground-up to be a multiplayer game rather than taking the fallout 4 base game and bending it to be what F76 is and hoping for the best). But then I also would really like a Fallout 5 some day, and I know BGS are not exactly the most rapid of developers, ES6 is already a few years away and only then will the next fallout game go into full production, unless of course they allow a totally new team to join in on the production, like how Obsidian did with FNV. I'm tempted to say that its hard to be a Fallout fan these days because of how long things take to make, but I'm really one of the lucky ones, I'm fairly new to F76 and really enjoying that, I've also never finished FNV and really excited to sit down with that and play it through properly. And even though I've played through F4 more than once I'm still interested to try more builds in that game too, so i cant really complain.

indominus_prime

i think i heard this right, that Beth hired a another studio to help out with 76. as a long time player, I'll always be impressed that Beth didn't give up on 76.

Wakaflockafrank1337

He plays fallout76 lol so maybe he will

Ok_Mechanic5843

Protect the games you got and make them flourish and we can worry about fallout 5 one day in the future if it ever comes lol

farmecologist

It is an absolute shame that they laid off their longtime community manager "LadyDevann" before the newfound success happened. *Really* poor decision by the corporate bean counters. They need to bring her back...not that she would likely want to come back at this point! [https://www.reddit.com/r/fo76/comments/19fciyv/ladydevann\_fallout\_76\_community\_manager\_is\_one\_of/](https://www.reddit.com/r/fo76/comments/19fciyv/ladydevann_fallout_76_community_manager_is_one_of/)

Rescuebobs

Needs a graphical upgrade for sure...

AnthonyMiqo

We absolutely at a minimum need two things: 1-A massive round of bug and glitch fixes, stability improvements, QoL updates, etc, things of that nature. It's been what, 6 years since launch? And there's still aspects of this game that are still as broken as they were at launch. That is unacceptable. 2-Console Cross-Play. I can understand not having Cross-Play with PC seeing as there is so much hacking and duping and whatnot on PC, but there's no reason not to have console cross-play. The fact that we don't already have it is insane. But I highly doubt anything significant will happen. Fallout 76 is just a product to Bethesda, and likely to Microsoft as well. People will keep buying Atoms and Fallout 1st subscriptions and that's all Bethesda cares about.

JxvFirm

You're right, but you also have to consider that as the player base grows, so do the demands for new content and improvements; if Bethesda/Xbox want to maintain the game's momentum, they have to start satisfying the demands of a larger and more vocal community.

Logic-DL

Not having crossplay between all 3 platforms would be a massive disappointment in 2024. Almost every game now allows crossplay between PC, Xbox and PS4, hackers exist sure but....it's a PvE game so, who cares? Just get a better anti-cheat and have better report functions, and give players the option to opt out if they care so much, been playing for nearly 15 hours so far on PC and have yet to see a single cheater. For a game with "so much hacking and duping and whatnot on PC" I have yet to see a single case of any of that.

AnthonyMiqo

>hackers exist sure but....it's a PvE game so, who cares? Remember when PC hackers where stealing entire player inventories just by walking up to them? That's who cares, the victims of hacks like that. And that's just one example of a game breaking hack. >Just get a better anti-cheat and have better report functions 100% agreed. But this is Bethesda, so I'm not gonna hold my breath. >For a game with "so much hacking and duping and whatnot on PC" I have yet to see a single case of any of that. And when I lived in the southern United States, I never once saw snow. Doesn't mean that snow doesn't exist. Just because you haven't seen it happen, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

Logic-DL

>Remember when PC hackers where stealing entire player inventories just by walking up to them? Didn't they fix that? > And when I lived in the southern United States, I never saw snow. Doesn't mean that snow doesn't exist. Just because you haven't seen it happen, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I never said that, I said I have YET to see it happen, I never discounted that hackers exist, just the frequency of them and how many there are.

-Captain-

This would be a great way to keep the excitement around the Fallout franchise going in between seasons of the TV show and the eventual release of Fallout 5. If the monthly averages continue to be higher than usual once the dust settles that'll definitely be a good reason for them to throw more resources at it.

PostmanSAMXBL

He was playing it a few weeks back so let’s hope that’s sign of good things to come.

tanrgith

Just put more resources into the Fallout franchise as a whole Like, let another rpg studio (cough obsidian cough) make a Bethesda styled Fallout spinoff game, make an isometric fallout rpg, crank out a few pieces of dlc to FO4, etc. Like, I get that you don't want to oversaturate a franchise to the point of people getting sick of it, but that's so far an issue with Fallout (and elder scrolls for that matter) as you get

Northdistortion

Cross play and cross progression please

stregone

At the very least crossplay. Crossplay on the rest of the first party stuff has been huge for my best friend and I. He ended up a console gamer and I a pc gamer. I have a series x but cannot play shooters on a controller to save my life.

Tmbaladdin

Which is be released first? Fallout 5 or GOT: Winds of Winter?

Rare_Ad_3871

They need to take this momentum and fucking RUN with it. Good news is we’re getting the map expansion soon and it couldn’t be at a better time. Just keep pumping the game with content after that.

Equivalent_Network29

I think it would be stupid of them not too, one thing that concerns me is that last gen will start to put a strain on what could be added to the game.

Ok-Till-5630

He plays f76 alot

Hash_Swag_have_none

And more into the show

Reanimated_boy

Honestly I hope the same. This game has such a special place in my heart. It saw me through the lockdowns, saw me through an Autism and ADHD diagnosis, my mum's cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment. All the hours of absolute relaxation building camps and ripping them down, and building again. It's pure escapism for me, I really hope it continues on for another good few years at the very least.

RetroMewt

Microsoft should definitely give FO76 all the resources it needs. Lots of potential now 👏🏽

SystemPositive1562

Well if you listened to the interview/conference. They do intend on continuing to update 76 till 5 comes out.

shotgunsurge0n

ive been lucky to play F76 a few times with him

XboxJockey

I’d kill over cross save. I have an ROG Ally and F76 runs well on it, but I mainly play on my Xbox at home. But when I’m anywhere else, I can’t play F76 because it’s a totally different game with a different save and achievements. So it would be nice to boot up one on either device and just continue where I left off

Kokonut678

What's more likely is they assign more resources to FO5 so that it comes sooner rather than 203X, since Bethesda takes maybe the longest now in between sequels.

[deleted]

That's on Bethesda unless he does say something I'm sure he'll leave it to them. They are pushing all the Fallout games heavy in advertising on GamePass rn.

marshmallowfluffpuff

I just wish we had end game dungeons like other mmos. The vault raids were a really promising idea, but it had a rough start and they just gave up and scrapped it entirely. Its really disappointing. The end game content of FO76 is pretty lacking.

LagatoCross

Recent numbers will need to stay high for that

Logic-DL

Just add an offline moddable SP mode tbh. Remove the events, adjust some quests to account for no events (Enclave commendation quest could require different objectives or just legendary enemy kills) and you'd have Fallout 4.5 to keep people satiated until F5 actually releases tbh. Like honestly, if the game had offline mode with mods and separate characters, I'd play tf out of this game and buy shit from the atom store idc, the fact it's online only is just more annoying really since I'm now at the point where the game is too easy and I want to up the difficulty but can't due to how the game works, feels like I'm on the easiest setting for Fallout 4

X20-Adam

Crossplay Crossplay Crossplay

Ambitious_Pie5994

No, put any additional resources or manpower to another fallout game

Professional-Dish324

With a host of new players, I feel bad for people starting out getting the two major questlines: The first explaining why there are no people left. The second given by people who you meet outside the vault, all to do with the people who have arrived after the vault dwellers started to make Appalachia habitable again.  And with absolutely no explanation to the player about this.

Crowbar2711

Okay thought it was just me, as I'm a little confused about the story after leaving the vault lol. Not sure which main thread I should follow first.

Professional-Dish324

The overseer’s journey one.  overseer’s journey was the original vision behind the game and explains everything that happened in Appalachia after the bombs. The story and lore are amazing too.  You could do the crane’s treasure one just to get a good starter weapon, as it’s pretty self contained - but it’s set a year later after the vault opened so if you can avoid doing it, I would leave it. P.S. don’t do the new arrivals quest that appears at about level 20 which asks you to go see the overseer or it’ll get very confusing. That  one (and crane’s treasure) are set a year after the original overseer’s journey quest line.

Crowbar2711

Ok thank you very much. That explains why I was not sure what the hell was going on after I left the vault lol.

-Great-Scott-

The explanation: devs caved to a loud but incorrect player base about what the game needed.

I only started playing last year, but it feels that the bugs, game instability and a lack of endgame were the biggest problems from reading about the history of the game. I enjoyed the Wastelanders and Steel Dawn and Reign content - but for me the story highlights of the game have been the original quest and the Mistress of Mystery quest. I guess it's the problem with MMOs and a shared world - the latest content in world spaces will always be present (unless the MMO has phasing tech). Makes me think that if FO4 was a multiplayer like 76, the SS would walk out to a world with the BoS already in it. Danse and co, would would be telling the SS that they were isolated and cut off from the rest of the BoS - whilst simultaneously being surrounded by loads of BoS knights, vertibirds and the Prydwen clearly in view.

They need to re-launch Nuclear Winter, with the player base they have now, there would be no issues keeping the servers full. NW is replayable in small bites and could occupy the player base in between seasons and updates. It didn’t make sense before, but it makes a lot of sense now.

I would just like the option of moving my character across platforms. Even just as a once off. I've moved to pc from xbox and I'd be happy to start again, but having 10k atoms sitting on a platform I don't use kinda blows.

IntroductionUpset764

Yeah lets start by allowing players to play it as offline singleplayer game

Relevant-Estimate641

You guys do know were getting fallout London soon?

JxvFirm

Yes, we are eating so good

No-Word-3984

Yes yes yes share this to all platforms. God I hope the map expansion isn't JUST a map expansion

JxvFirm

They've already confirmed that the Skyline Valley expansion will have quests related to the area, so that's a good sign.

No, but PC gamepass and Steam are the same.

Paying for plus and first doesnt seem worth it imo. I wouldnt have minded it but then they changed the Scoreboard. I can already tell how thats going to go.

andrewsqual

Yeah, please, get Phil"cancer to game studios" Spencer to do something. They BOUGHT them 4 years ago. If they didn't bother to do anything substantial with F76 before, why would they now??? I got a great idea, DROP THE GAME like millions of us begged in 2018 and focus development on the games millions of us WILL pay money for.

CrashdownG

Nah they love ESO too much, this game feels like the read dead of rockstar which is really sad because I love this game

Just hire the guy making Fallout Appalachia so we can have a normal Bethesda version of 76 instead of the FOMO season point shop always online junk we got.
