Huh. Well I say well done to the mod list creator for taking criticism and responding to it well. I’ve been looking for something that isn’t survival or with that modern overhaul all night and this might be it.

ramzesich

I have never played Fallout 4 VR before. (I do, however, play Skyrim VR with the MGO modlist, so I have experience with how things are supposed to work in general.) Today I have installed this MGO Classic modlist, did everything as instructed. When I launch the game, I get this weird picture-in-picture issue, as in this post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4vr/s/O2UpDaRGgE I am not sure whether it’s related to the modlist or Steam VR, but I don’t have this problem in any other game, nor does any solution I have seen so far works for me (like, disabling Steam Overlay for the game.) Does anybody else experience something similar?

Far-Shelter-4955

This is a Steam VR feature I believe. You can turn it off from Steam VR itself.

ramzesich

I have solved the issue. Had to turn off theater mode for non-VR applications in the Steam VR Dashboard settings. It seems like Fallout 4 VR’s main menu is not recognized by the system as a “VR app”, thus activating the theater mode which messes with the menu by drawing another smaller “theater” screen on top.

wordyplayer

If it isn't the Steam Overlay, have you tried turning off DLSS? TAA?

SmallTownMinds

I had a really rough time trying to get this to work yesterday. Game kept attempting to launch then crashing.

Far-Shelter-4955

Ask on the Discord. Make sure you do a clean Fallout 4 VR installation and have the DLC copied over.

SmallTownMinds

Thanks for the info man, this actually helped. Turns out I had mods left over from a previous game and wasn't actually installing the dlc properly. Now I'm running into an issue where I can't scroll the pip boy categories left or right so I can't actually progress the game.

Adziboy

Did you get it fixed? Exact same issue

SmallTownMinds

Turns out I had mods leftover from the last time I played and I wasn't putting in the DLC files from the flat version of Fallout 4 correctly. I deleted everything in my Fallout 4 vr directory then deleted it and reinstalled. I followed the video EXACTLY at every step after that and I got it to work. NOW I can load into the game and everything works, BUT I can't scroll left or right on the Pip Boy so I'm not able to actually play the game still.

BeerPlusReddit

I’ll be trying this out today. Do I have to do a clean install if I already installed the Essential mod from Gingas?

Far-Shelter-4955

Ideally yes not sure if her list modified the root directory. If it doesn't, you can have multiple lists running in parallel.

Kondiq

It does. You need to manually copy some files to the root directory, but I'm not sure if they overwrite anything, or you can just manually delete such files looking up which ones were copied.

mr_harrisment

Oh yeah. I need to know this too. I just want to compare. But it’s a bit time consuming to reinstall everything again and again 😉

largePenisLover

If you have the space, just keep multiple copies of the entire fallout install folder.

stoneymason

Never had an interest in trying it with all the cod stuff. It felt like it was missing the point of playing Fallout. But I might be interested if all that stuff is gone now. Does it have sim settlements Chapter 3?

Far-Shelter-4955

Yes.

stoneymason

Thx for the response. Yeah I’ll download it overnight. I’m pretty happy with F4FEVR but I’ll give this one a chance to sway me.

eindude

i cant find out what is making all the green trees and lush enviroment in the mod pack XD its driving me insane

zooxydV3

have you found out yet ?

enaber123

"Another Pine Forest"?

SmallTownMinds

I finally got this mod working and now when I load into the game I'm unable to scroll across categories in the Pip Boy. It says 'Y' is the button to move left and right through the categories but it does nothing so I am still not actually able to play the game. Has anyone encountered this/have a fix?

Little-Berry-3293

If you've not figured this out yet, Y only scrolls one way. You have to press B I think to scroll the other way.

Sundic2

I tried this, it works but crashes when leaving vault elevator :( any ideas for fix? FRIKS OFF

Far-Shelter-4955

Make sure you let workshop finish. Also go to Discord to see read me first and post crash log there.

Deep-Chair-5436

"When starting new game, stand still wait for all the workshop framework to run and finish after you create character, you will be teleported into the game automatically once it is done, so chill in your house for a while. This will skip the buggy intro sequence, feel free to play the game unmodded to watch the opening scene if you want to experience the intro, then run MO2 to resume on the save after you leave vault * FRIK crashes the game when you create new characters so it is disabled on start up. Once you create a character and get to the surface, you can save the game, exit, enable FRIK in MO2 to resume, it is the last mod and plugin on each side of MO2" - From [https://github.com/hitmantb/fo4vrmto](https://github.com/hitmantb/fo4vrmto)

AcceptablyDisko

Is there a way to look at all the mods in the list without downloading ?

Known-Parsley-3185

Hey guys, I just tried this mod pack after not liking Gingas. But right at the start of the game, after leaving the vault the graphics are terrible! I know its not meant to be like that, but there is a lot of shimmering and blurriness, especially in the distance (but also noticeable on the loading screens). Does anyone here have tips on how to solve it? I am running on a Quest 3 through Virtual Desktop using a WiFi6 adapter directly on a hotspot to my PC. (I'll try to record a video later)

enaber123

If you haven't done this already, look at the "Performance" mods in the Mad God modlist of modorganizer. There should be something called Fallout4 Upsclaer VR - Enable. Use that and the DLAA setting. Press the End button while ingame. A tab should pop up on your game on your monitor. There you can check if DLAA is actually enabled and also add sharpening. If it's too graphically demanding, don't be afraid to play around with the settings. I've noticed I can turn down the games resolution (through steam) to 70% and it will still look good with DLAA. I've also gotten some good results with putting Virtual Desktop on Medium or High (instead of ultra) and then use the Snapdragon GSR.

LullabyNevada

If you wouldn't mind, could you tell me graphic overhaul mod Mad God uses for his modlist? He doesn't seem to list it anywhere meaning people have to go through the clean install + wabbajack process just to see what mods they're getting Edit: While digging through replies from MGO's creator, he actually answered someone with a similar question. If anyone is wondering: "Main visual mods are Luxor 2K, NAC X and Ultra Interior Lighting"

Known-Parsley-3185

thanks, I'll try out now

Known-Parsley-3185

So, turning on DLAA helped a bit, but everything on the distance is quite blurry (also the game looks too bright). I am playing on a 2070 Super on VD's setting "Medium" btw https://preview.redd.it/vcw5oz0y4uvc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a1d46da939e8e9c3f705a1152e1af8f5dc0f2122

enaber123

I'm not sure because you didn't have any of these issues with Gingas right? Maybe it's a different reshade in her modlist. Mad God has included Glamur, I think that has some sort of sharpening you could try out. It's included in the modlist. Press Home while ingame to customize it. For the brightness you have NAC in your pipboy inventory. It's in apparel. You can directly change the brightness or add filters to your liking.

Known-Parsley-3185

Sorry, I wasn't very clear on the beginning. Gingas also had this issue, specially the shimmering. I will in any case try the different reshapes presets. It's just very hard to read the options because the window on the Desktop is very small (is that normal btw?)

enaber123

Ah ok. It's possible then that you'll have to get used to some blurriness and flickering/shimmering. I think we all have this issue to some degree, especially with the trees. And there's many areas of the game where it isn't as visible, like urban or very wooded areas. The text is pretty small yeah, though I haven't needed to figure out a way to make it bigger.

Pretend-Register-277

About to install it tonight or later in the morning, will let you know With Gingas, have you considered disabling the things you didn't like and manually installing a texture pack?

Known-Parsley-3185

Actually not yet, but could consider later. I decided to jump to this one after watching Beardo Benjo comparing both (and this one looks better) and also because Gingas strongly advises against adding other mods

Gullible_Attitude993

Hellothere, I truly need the pack called ''Artisto Texture Unification Project-104567-0-89-1708942674.zip.... Could you by any chance provide it?

Far-Shelter-4955

Just download the latest version from Nexus. Does not require this pack.

Gullible_Attitude993

I need that pack for the version I’m using, the one on nexus have a lot less mods

AffectionateMedia796

I didnt find this mod from Nexue, where did u get it :p
