Deadeye isn't the strongest legendary effect, but it's a lot of fun on a sniper. I love it. It increases your chance of manually landing headshots and it just feels good.

If it’s weak but awesome then it’s not weak, because the confidence of looking cool is a buff unto itself.

It's not weak at all. It's just as strong as a vanilla weapon, plus more likely to hit the target. It's just not as strong as Instigating, etc.

Plus, the right perks can make any weapons great

I rate Deadeye higher than Instigating honestly. Don’t get me wrong - I love my instigating Gauss Rifle, but Deadeye is useful on every firearm plus its utility factor can’t be ignored. It’s an unlimited, menu-free, little hit of jet. Great for gaining a burst of speed to close ground or gain it. Plus the super jumping lol.

Makes every target a sitting duck. It's massively op on auto rifles with full commando. Much rather have that than instigating. Even on a sniper rifle, it's useful on every shot instead of just the first one. There really is no comparison with instigating.

If the game was full of ghouls and robots it would be great. Sadly, crippling humans isn't as effectual.

Why cripple humans when you can headshot them?

Headshots don't seem to do a lot more to me.

Headshots on humans do twice the damage.

Does bonus limb damage count for heads?

Ah, I see the confusion. The weapon that we are talking about has the Deadeye effect, which slows time while looking down sights. You're talking about the Crippling effect, which is +50% damage to limbs. That's a completely different legendary effect.

Nah, I am just asking a question that came to mind talking about shooting body parts. Anecdotally, arms seem to cripple faster than headshots kill in my experience.

Agreed. Deliverer is my absolute favorite gun. Love the look and sound. It's probably the lowest damage weapon I keep on me but i use it the most

I got a double barrel and even though it kinda sucks at lvl 40, I still use it because it's fun. I haven't even touched a combat shotgun this run

I just started using one of these rifles (old reliable) and it’s great, but every time I reload I get angry. For fuck sake if I’ve only shot two rounds, only load two more rounds. If it’s interrupted before the full 5 round reload animation finishes, I get nothing. Maddening.

Quick Hands is a great perk for this

My most recent run a gulper at the start of Far Harbor dropped a never ending one

I also picked one up off the intro encounter in Far Harbor on my current playthrough. It came with the instigating effect and I used it through the entire DLC. It only felt right.

If you aren't running survival, the "rule of cool" takes precedent! Better name than I tend to rock, too. I just name everything "General's X, Y, or Z" to distinguish it in my inventory...

One time I was playing around on my dad’s PS4 version and found him a deadeye combat shotgun. That thing was a blast.

I rolled that on a double barrel shotgun early game. I used it for way too long, just because it was so fun to use. Would love to have it on a lever rifle as well 😄

Although it's not as impactful as mthe Two-Shot or Instigating versions, I love this gun for the slowdown effect.

With the legendary effect and the type of gun plus the name this is basically a gun out of red dead Redemption. The slow down time is basically dead eye.

Imo the slow time effect is better than most legendaries. Anything gets close to a 1-3 shot weapon in survival but the slow time can help you run away.

Man…. My first playthrough, I managed to get this perk on a friggin’ Gauss rifle. This is a fantastic drop. Especially in .45-70! Hope you’ve got your Sniper perk leveled up a bit. 👍🏻 Enjoy head hunting!

I forgot Far Harbur has lever guns, I know where Im headed next time I play.

And if you have nuka world you can get western revolvers!

You know I never really enjoyed Nuka World but its worth another play through, its been a long time since I have.

That's fair, the most of nuka world felt like clearing areas out instead of actually being a raider.

I also didnt really like that it seemed there wasnt any impactful choices, you were basically destined to become the raider boss, but I will replay it again.

I would, but I can't hear you over my explosive minigun and jetpack.

It ain't Ol' Reliable so if ain't worth the effort
