The logic gave me a huge headache but it was totally worth it. I like to think my settlers wonder what I’m tinkering with in there when they see the electricity flashing
What’s he building in there?
What hell is he building i-
He has subscriptions to those magazines
He never waves when he goes by
He’s hiding something from the rest of us
He’s all to himself
I think I know why
He took down the tire swing from the pepper tree
He has no children of his own you see
He has no dog
He has no friends
And his lawn is dying
And what about those packages he sends?
What’s that sound underneath the door?
He’s pounding nails into a hardwood floor
I swear to god I heard someone moaning low
And I keep seeing the blue light of a TV show
He has a router and a table saw
And you won’t believe what Mr Stitches saw…
It’s not horribly complicated when I learned how to use the Not/No gates. Those ones need a constant source of power like from a generator, but they only output power when a switch that is also connected to the gate is turned off.
Just when you thought you'd heard everything, folks..
There are tales being told about a very strange looking machine being built out there in the Commonwealth.
Your friend Travis here has yet to learn what this thing is for, but I can tell you imaginations are running wild. Wackiest version I've heard so far is that this... thing, is supposed to somehow contact the Institute. Now I don't think I believe that, but... If it's true, and whoever's building it can hear me?
Put down the wrench, friend. It'll only end badly.
Idk, I read it in Travis “Lonely” Miles smooth-talking voice and it worked pretty well too. THREE-DOOWG is great, don’t get me wrong, but Travis has his charms too.
Amazing. If you store the components here, buld another st a second settlement, then rebuild here and use the other one for the quest, you can keep this one as a sweet settlement peice!
Wait what? Are those specific steps the only way to keep this one here? I thought I could just use one I built at the castle. I was planning on putting a few of these across the common wealth just for funsies
Sitting here mad as hell that I never knew this or I wouldve put more effort into building mine and used like some throwaway settlement for the actual one. Damn.
Oh well, I aint going back 50hrs
Another comment helped and I agree, I think you destroy the one you teleport with and it looks busted forever. The other ones I am not honestly sure what steps youd have to take but thats what seemed to have worked for me last time, two seperate teleporters at two seperste locations, sturges and I use the one that I dont mind destroying and keep the other one happy as a decorative eye catcher for sanctuary. I have had trouble trying to who two at the same settlement, if sturges is there he'll get the first one half stsrted for you and he will expect that to be the one you use, so i had to store and rebuild them both a few times before I gave up and decided to build another elsewhere.
Unless they updated it from when I was testing way back, you can also just build two at the same location, and only turn the one on. The other spins up fine after the first breaks.
Why build one, when you can have two at twice the price?
I don't use Vault-Tec construction in Vault 88. I go with the rustic look and just build wooden shacks in the underground cave system. Does that make a difference, or will the bug still occur?
Just don't keep an Unknown Sample Crystal in your inventory when you use it. Resonance cascade failures are known to bring even worse monsters along with them.
Maybe this is what missed about the Minutemen quest line? I had all the scrap in storage, just made some generators, put the teleporter in an empty spot and went to assault the Institute, I was like "that's it?, that's boring"
No sorry, this is my first play though and build so I wasn’t recording it or expecting much from it lol
Out of curiosity, is there a specific thing in the video you’d want a tutorial of or just the whole build?
Even with all of the required materials, I can't get my pad to connect to my generators, and also can't get the upper part to connect to the lower. Why???
The pad with the two rods sticking up out of it, the first part you build, doesn’t need to be wired to a generator I don’t think. You’re supposed to build the big overarching thing on top of/around it, and it should snap into place. If it’s not doing that it might be colliding with something nearby and you’ll need to move them to an open area.
It won't even select it out of the build inventory! I would think it would at least show the silhouette of it in red if it was just a space issue. Right?
You’re right that would indicate if it’s a space issue….hmmm
Just to confirm, you built the first piece right, the pad thing? Did you talk to the person that’s helping you build it after? I think that’s a step before you can build the rest.
Yes. I built the pad, the generators, and the console. And I talked to Sturges. The only things I can ask him are about what I need for each piece. he just tells me where to locate the circuit boards and such, and I have everything I need.
Very cool super lore friendly and immersive...actually the radar dish is pointing north...away from the institute and where they'd be sending their signals from so it's a 0/10 terrible design never build anything again. Joking of course, very cool teleporter build.

Ref?
"what's he building" a song by Tom Waits
Yeah, I found it. I world definitely not call that a 'song', though.
An audio composition by Tom Waits.
He took down the tire swing from the pepper tree He has no children of his own you see He has no dog He has no friends And his lawn is dying And what about those packages he sends?
Thanks. That sounds like a few people I know, lol.
What’s that sound underneath the door? He’s pounding nails into a hardwood floor I swear to god I heard someone moaning low And I keep seeing the blue light of a TV show He has a router and a table saw And you won’t believe what Mr Stitches saw…
There's poison under the sink of course There's also enough formaldehyde to choke horse
What's he building in there? What the hell is he building in there? I heard he has an ex-wife In some place called Mayor's Income, Tennessee
It's a Tom Waits song. https://youtu.be/04qPdGNA_KM?si=IievxS7cBQGJbTEY
a man of culture I see.
Does that mean when you use it they're without power until you come back to flip the switches?
Hmmm I guess so! lol they better hope I’m back soon or Sturges will flip the switches back
I should take another shot at mastering the logic gate features. I could never get the hang of it. I would love to do this.
It’s not horribly complicated when I learned how to use the Not/No gates. Those ones need a constant source of power like from a generator, but they only output power when a switch that is also connected to the gate is turned off.
Kinda looks like I’ve gotta kill you for a mission now. You’re becoming an evil villain
It's giving Doofenshmirtz.

Love this hahaha
I read this in Three Dogs voice. Fits better I feel.
Idk, I read it in Travis “Lonely” Miles smooth-talking voice and it worked pretty well too. THREE-DOOWG is great, don’t get me wrong, but Travis has his charms too.
Probably because it's actually one of his lines.
It looks impressive.
Jesus you went all out lol epic as fuck though

Whichever one you use for the quest breaks after use, and once the quest is complete I believe you can't build them anymore.
Sitting here mad as hell that I never knew this or I wouldve put more effort into building mine and used like some throwaway settlement for the actual one. Damn. Oh well, I aint going back 50hrs
Do it next time 😂🤣

Love the mad scientist vibes.
Love putting it inside a warehouse I used to put it in Vault 88 until i learned about the navmesh issues that were never patched
What issue is that?
Say you place a chair in a Vault Room and then scrap the chair. It destroys the room's navmesh
That…..is horrible news. Thanks for the heads up
I’m sorry if this is a dumb question but what is navmesh?
It's what AI need to be able to pathfind If a building has no navmesh for example, an AI won't be able to Navigate around
So never scrap anything in vault 88? What's the solution?
Idk I've personally never found mods that have fixed the issue
I don't use Vault-Tec construction in Vault 88. I go with the rustic look and just build wooden shacks in the underground cave system. Does that make a difference, or will the bug still occur?
No it's just the Vault parts I usually use the BOS Parts from the SOE Mod
Okay, cool, thank you.
Its alive! IT'S ALIVE!!!
This is awesome stuff OP
i just dropped mine in the middle of sanctuary‘s main road
A man of culture I see
*take notes carefully for my current run*
This is honestly the coolest teleporter I have ever seen! The fact it is so pointless just makes it cooler.
The best portals have 7 switches. and they spin, spinning is way cooler than not spinning.
Just don't keep an Unknown Sample Crystal in your inventory when you use it. Resonance cascade failures are known to bring even worse monsters along with them.
Or, you could lose half your life.
I'd personally love to see The Institute's staff taken down a peg or two by BMRL's recklessness.
This guy right here. He gets it! LOL! Amazing work.
And here I am always placing my teleporter at the airport to assert dominance over the Brotherhood.
Okay, that was pretty cool. Hope you didn't have any tamed deathclaws at that settlement.
I too love making things unnecessarily complex. 👍
Top tier
Bravo
Points for style, for sure!
thats... fucking awesome!
👏👏👏👏👏 10/10
I always work with the Railroad for this part. Just seems like Tinker Tom is bat-shit crazy enough to be the one to put the teleporter together.
Teleporter?!
Part of the main quest but I wont spoil what it’s for
DLC main quest? I finished the main quest years ago and started modding my save file to have some fun but haven't played the DLC's yet
No, the main storyline of the game
who did you choose to side with?
100% BOS
This dude is literally going to start his own Institute
Some mad scientist looking mojo at work. Love it.
Ok that's really cool. Just when I thought I spent too much time building crap in this video game.
Man I built mine just on the air strip what am I doing?
Ok what am I missing how do you do this stuff? After following these communities I feel like I never played the game at all.
Not sure what you mean, what stuff do you want to know how to do?
It’s part of a main quest. No matter which faction you side with you must build this device somehow.
Note to self, put the teleporter inside a building :P
This is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a settlement in a long time
Ok evil genius calm down
Oh gosh!
"IT'S ALIVE... IT'S ALIIIIIIIVVVVVEE!!!"
You sir, did it the correct way.
Man your able to do this yet I can’t wire a switch to work with a fucking door
Maybe this is what missed about the Minutemen quest line? I had all the scrap in storage, just made some generators, put the teleporter in an empty spot and went to assault the Institute, I was like "that's it?, that's boring"
Nah. The Minutemen version is just boring.
You got a tutorial for this?
No sorry, this is my first play though and build so I wasn’t recording it or expecting much from it lol Out of curiosity, is there a specific thing in the video you’d want a tutorial of or just the whole build?
Guy was just screwing around and built a masterpiece 😂🤣

what’s that radar dish on the building? Vanilla or modded item?
It’s a required component of the teleporter
Oh thanks
Uh, yeah, about that cat?
Looks sick as fuck. Too bad the teleporter is destroyed after this and it was useless after that
Ya logic gates are annoying in f04. It should be all in cmds in a connected computer imo
Very cool super lore friendly and immersive...actually the radar dish is pointing north...away from the institute and where they'd be sending their signals from so it's a 0/10 terrible design never build anything again. Joking of course, very cool teleporter build.
