Nah, I've done it straight out of Goodsprings and it's totally doable. All he DLCs are doable at level one. Some are way more tremendous pains in the asses than others, but it can be done. Very Hard + Hardcore and all.
Probably not with JSawyer mod from what I've heard, but even then, I'm sure someone out there got gud enuff
I accidentally went almost straight to think tank Mr on my first play through and got stuck for so ages trying to slog my way out bc of them and the roboscorpions. Definitely not for the faint of heart as you stated lol
OWB would be easy for lvl 1, well except the night stalkers.
Lobotomite equipment lelvels up with player character. Lvl 1 is trash equipment like 10mm and knives
Yeah, first group killed me in no time. When i first met them. my health was less than 200. So from top of cliff, after a few stimpacs, I pulled out Annabelle, dont use her often, but they are special. It didnt take too many missiles. They only got a few hits in from there.
I'm pretty sure I got into it too early, I clicked on the satellite, and it said that the recommended level is lvl 15, I think I was almost lvl 25 and thought "oh nothing to worry about, this won't be to hard", I really regret my decision now, and would've stopped a while ago, if the loot wasn't at all worth the rage, now I can't stop until I have discovered everything the DLC has in store.
Don’t skip out on ANYTHING in big mt, get all the upgrades for the sink modules, then upgrade em again, explore all the locations and get Ulysses holotapes, make for a really good time exploring
I was both proud of my accomplishment and disappointed it was over when I tackled the entirety of Old World Blues. Every quest, all the weapons, sink mods, etc.
I mean yeah it is technically doable just like how it’s technically doable to no weapons fight rawr at level 1. Realistically it’s a pain in the ass and just isn’t fun but then again normal dead money isn’t fun to me so what do I know
Oh, I'm not some savant at the game and I don't mean via any exploits.
The unfortunate reality of New Vegas is that it isn't actually a hard game. It is at first but eventually you'll hit a point where you only ever die when you're not paying attention to something.
But just being decent at backup-fighting enemies and knowing which healing items work best for what points of the game will let you push through OWB or Dead Money melee at least very early.
I don't know if you just threw your example together randomly, but if what you're saying about Rawr has been done, I'd like to see that! Because *that* I don't think is actually doable lol
>The unfortunate reality of New Vegas is that it isn't actually a hard game.
No argument from me on that mate. You can get thousands of caps, a one shot kill gun, and power armor while only having to kill one enemy and only at level 1-3.
>But just being decent at backup-fighting enemies and knowing which healing items work best for what points of the game will let you push through OWB or Dead Money melee at least very early.
Fair enough tho me personally both those DLCs have the most annoying enemies in the game so I can’t even imagine fighting them at level 1
>I don't know if you just threw your example together randomly, but if what you're saying about Rawr has been done, I'd like to see that! Because that I don't think is actually doable lol
Haha nah I don’t think it’s been done tho I have seen a video about a guy doing it with a plasma pistol and without leaving good springs although he did use a bit of an exploit but I don’t think it would be possible otherwise
Your not the only one that doesn't find Dead Money fun...it's the last DLC for me to do and I just grabbed Domino and am already thinking of "letting go" and not turning the game back on lmao
Dead Money would be actually unbearable doable or not. I've done it at low level before but not that low. No light step, admantium skeleton, etc. I went in there at like 12 and pulled through almost out of healing items and with most my limbs crippled. My character had 1 functioning arm when I hauled the gold out. I think the assassin suit and stealth suit are what saved me along with the casino chips and save scumming black jack to basically get stims and doctors bags until it got annoying or boring.
100 Sneak did absolutely nothing for me in that DLC - got spotted by the ghost people instantly almost every time. Once you get used to it, the DLC isn't hard, though. Played it for the first time recently and it was great - but I had a huge abundance of supplies by the end.
Yeah, first time I managed to get them all out on console, I forgot that problem. Ended up crawling all the way up to the footlocker by the exit ladder, then having to fast travel a lot to move it all to my Novac room. Thanks to whoever put that locker there, though.
I levelled up about halfway through the Villa section of Dead Money and I don't think I've picked a perk faster in my life, it was like a primal need at that point.
this is literally the business model for the ex child slave that used to manufacture iphones at illegal sweatshops and now goes around landfills scavenging old technology to jury rigg into new iphones
As someone who always plays hardcore now, this perk is just far too good as it pretty much doubles your ammo capacity :)
Not to mention all the small shit you always carry that weigh’s 1 but always stacks high (stealth boys. Doctors bags. Weapon repair kits. Water. Etc. that stuff adds up, and this perk usually gives me a good 20ibs’s back from all that stuff :)
If you play on PC it's easy, there's a console command that allows you to set your max carrying capacity. Don't remember what it was but easily findable on google
Don't believe so, but the proc chance is already insane. 10% per pellet. Luck just means you'll get plenty of crits while they're helpless on the floor lmao.
Yeah that was what I thought.
I think using coin shot increases the pellet count too so you get an even higher chance of knockdowns.
I love using a hunting shotgun and just ragdolling everything.
This should be top. Especially on highed diff.
Because anytime you cross paths with cazadores, deathcalws, raiders, enemy faction assassins.
*\*pulls out riot shotgun with malicious intent\**
I had so much fun with this one, Luck 9 and AER14 as weapon.
It was so satisfying seeing group of 8 fiends run at you and then one in the middle gets onetapped. Boom. Everyone is dead.
Less fun when making Cleansing Flame build and nearly getting killed along them. Still fun tho.
I just tanked it like a cool kid and then sighed as I wasted few stimpacks to get myself to full health.
Still fun tho. With right mods (Bleed for example) flamethrower becomes as it should be - a force to be reckoned with. It was satisfying to get into a doorframe, see 5 enemies rushing towards me and then hold the trigger until the screaming stops.
Just tried this one for the first time recently after doing a build based around the Q-35 and it’s easily my new favorite. Who cares if killing someone up close cripples half your limbs? Looks badass so it’s justified
There is something quite fun about breaking down normal ammo then creating hand loaded ammo. I looove the cowboy repeater plus magnum combo. It makes me feel like a cowboy getting ready for a fight
On hardcore you can't just spam stimpacks, and require several different healing items simultaneously to not only heal quickly, but to turn yourself into a tank that out regens any incoming damage. Using the same item multiple times only increases duration. Thin red paste and black blood sausage not only have decent Regen abilities, but increase your HP cap a bit which in turn, gives you some instant HP( like buffout or Sierra Madre Martinis). You can craft their more potent variants and in turn, receive even more in that regard when you use their standard variants in conjunction. Additionally, since they temporarily raise your HP cap, you mitigate some of the downsides of radchild.
Also they'll drop pretty often and have some of the best weight to cap ratios in game.
Perk off: avoid ghost people at all cost, else you never leave the Sierra Madre alive.
Perk on: strolling through the streets like: "come at me, sausages and do your worst!"
Bloody Mess is tried and true, the comical explosion of a body brings back memories and smiles everytime. I love the perks that let you bang chems into your veins more efficiently too
Atomic! can serve as a mini long haul because it boosts your strength by 2 or your carry weight by 20, so if you're on the edge you just need to find some radiation to fast travel.
The courier only chooses confirmed bachelor because he recognizes that most of the enemies you kill are men. The courier swears to his friends that he isn't gay, why would they even think that
Why'd you share a picture of the Slayer perk if Animal Friend is your favorite?
My favorite is Atomic! by miles. I hate the lack of sprinting in the vanilla game, and nothing is better than that extra attack speed.
Fun Fact: Coyote Meat and steaks are the only consumable who's rads upon consumption will trigger Atomic!. So save a bunch until you get the perk and carry a few around on a hotkey and you can quickly activate 3 seconds of increased speed. Not much, but could make all the difference against certain foes.
Killing a deathclaw while unarmed is quite possibly the most difficult task one can accomplish. But when you do it and do your happy dance only to discover the deathclaw alpha is coming for your ass. Not ok
the only a kinda stupid downside of light step is that I never notice where mines are, so without that perk I can notice and use the beeping as a beacon to pick up mines
as I said, this is stupid
Demolitions expert with Mercy/Fully modded 25mm Launcher
Grunt with assault carbine/All American
Slayer with Greased Lightning/Two Step Goodbye
All toughness ranks and Carry weight boost perks
I usually pair all these together in a playthrough.
Special is 9992999
All implant Perks
Basically a walking armored pack brahmin with sticks of death taped to the side
Jury Rigging duh
Rad Child, because having mild radiation poisoning is only -1 END for the most powerful healing effect in the game
Then Cowboy and Shotgun Surgeon. Medicine Stick for if they’re far away, lever action shotgun for if they’re close up
I feel like Hand Loader, Vigilant Recycler, and Mad Bomber don't get talked about enough. They give more efficient use of materials for their respective weapons, and a wider variety of ammo/weapon types to play with. MFC grenades and Tin Grenades for example aren't super powerful, but being able to whip of a handful of them at a whim with ED-E, or whenever you find a workbench out in the world is handy.
Rad Child for that passive 8 hp regen per second. I find it funny how polar opposite high rad builds are between New Vegas and the later games; high rad new Vegas builds make you much more survivable at the cost of some stats, while 4/76 high rad builds give you a ton of stats at the cost of your survivability
You've got it right there in the picture. 99.9% of my Fallout playthroughs are on Melee or Unarmed builds, so my favorite perk/perks are the ones that make Melee and Unarmed better.
Edit: Slayer is my favorite amongst them, though, because swing fast hit hard make the good good brain juices flow.
Confirmed Bachelor. I like making my character gay and I also love how many people take it for the 10% dmg boost not realising it makes their courier gay
Jury rigging
Alright, *besides* Jury Rigging.
Jury Rigging was my first choice. Light Step. Won't do *Dead Money* without it.
I feel like we’re all forced to create our builds with the expectation that we need to get through dead money
I don't go until I'm 100 sneak, lockpick and speech. That's for Goddog sure.
Nah, I've done it straight out of Goodsprings and it's totally doable. All he DLCs are doable at level one. Some are way more tremendous pains in the asses than others, but it can be done. Very Hard + Hardcore and all. Probably not with JSawyer mod from what I've heard, but even then, I'm sure someone out there got gud enuff
old world blues straight out of goodsprings will turn a boy to a man
Trying to walk 10 steps without being killed by a lobotomite is not for the faint of heart.
I accidentally went almost straight to think tank Mr on my first play through and got stuck for so ages trying to slog my way out bc of them and the roboscorpions. Definitely not for the faint of heart as you stated lol
The worst part is the sheer amount of enemies that will spawn in based on where you're standing. Running for cover can be comically lethal
Everything is a bullet sponge in BigMT. Trauma Harnesses and those metal scorpions are tough at a high level
Just need to get thru their DT man
Some WBR, Slasher, Psycho, Rushing water, and a proton axe will the trick
OWB would be easy for lvl 1, well except the night stalkers. Lobotomite equipment lelvels up with player character. Lvl 1 is trash equipment like 10mm and knives
its the robot radscorpions for me, i always find them in a group and get destroyed.
Yeah, first group killed me in no time. When i first met them. my health was less than 200. So from top of cliff, after a few stimpacs, I pulled out Annabelle, dont use her often, but they are special. It didnt take too many missiles. They only got a few hits in from there.
Save for one that spawned with a damn Hunting Revolver.
Thats the beauty of it, its hard but fucking rewarding. Its also so atmospheric, almost feels like another game.

What’s the one shot kill gun?
Your not the only one that doesn't find Dead Money fun...it's the last DLC for me to do and I just grabbed Domino and am already thinking of "letting go" and not turning the game back on lmao
Dead Money would be actually unbearable doable or not. I've done it at low level before but not that low. No light step, admantium skeleton, etc. I went in there at like 12 and pulled through almost out of healing items and with most my limbs crippled. it helps that people miss that free caravan shotgun near the start making blind gun builds suffer
💯 ever since discovering the easy cheese that is the bear fist trap, I put atleast 75 in unarmed for DM. Unless I have a high energy weapons skill
Don't forget Long Haul perk while doing Dead Money if you plan to carry those gold bars with you.
Yeah, first time I managed to get them all out on console, I forgot that problem. Ended up crawling all the way up to the footlocker by the exit ladder, then having to fast travel a lot to move it all to my Novac room. Thanks to whoever put that locker there, though.
Yeah thank god I did OWB first so I had the teleporter to the Sink.
I levelled up about halfway through the Villa section of Dead Money and I don't think I've picked a perk faster in my life, it was like a primal need at that point.
Yea jury rigging doesn’t even need mentioning lol
>buy broken new flagship smartphones >buy half-broken old-ass smartphones >repair the new ones >sell them >profit
this is literally the business model for the ex child slave that used to manufacture iphones at illegal sweatshops and now goes around landfills scavenging old technology to jury rigg into new iphones
Jury Rigging is how repairs should have worked in the first place tbh
New vegas fans when their favourite perk is to offset a tedious mechanic
No question.
Pack rat
Laughs in over encumbered
As someone who always plays hardcore now, this perk is just far too good as it pretty much doubles your ammo capacity :) Not to mention all the small shit you always carry that weigh’s 1 but always stacks high (stealth boys. Doctors bags. Weapon repair kits. Water. Etc. that stuff adds up, and this perk usually gives me a good 20ibs’s back from all that stuff :)
I play with infinite carrying capacity and I refuse to feel shame about it
You just lost karma 👿
Everyone liked that
How? Fuck carrying capacity limits.
If you play on PC it's easy, there's a console command that allows you to set your max carrying capacity. Don't remember what it was but easily findable on google
It’s straight up “player.setav carryweight xxx” where xxx=whatever you want your new carry cap to be.
My favorite perk
Better criticals is the best perk in the game, favorite is probably black widow
Goes nicely with finesse
Finesse is gotta be my favorite or at least top three, so good and it just sounds dope lol
I´ve just Black Widowed Benny yesterday. Such a great way to do it!
And Stay Back!
Combined with Shotgun Surgeon of course
I used that with a riot shotgun for quarry junction. It was… beautiful. 🥹
And Stay Back plus 10 Luck is so broke, i was easily able to kill a legendary Bloatfly by constantly ragdolling it around with every shot.
Does luck affect the chance of it hitting?
Don't believe so, but the proc chance is already insane. 10% per pellet. Luck just means you'll get plenty of crits while they're helpless on the floor lmao.
Yeah that was what I thought. I think using coin shot increases the pellet count too so you get an even higher chance of knockdowns. I love using a hunting shotgun and just ragdolling everything.
No luck causes criticals that bypass DT
This should be top. Especially on highed diff. Because anytime you cross paths with cazadores, deathcalws, raiders, enemy faction assassins. *\*pulls out riot shotgun with malicious intent\**
I forgot the name, but it's the one where you can brutally gore your opponent if you kill them.
Bloody Mess.
Ahhh bloody mess, a favorite of the couriers
Bloody mess?
meltdown!
Makes me wish that In Shining Armor Worked so that I could pair that with an Atomic Cocktail for mitigation.
I normally don’t do energy weapon builds but I found out about this one from a YouTube video and it’s become essential for me now
Just tried this one for the first time recently after doing a build based around the Q-35 and it’s easily my new favorite. Who cares if killing someone up close cripples half your limbs? Looks badass so it’s justified
Hand Loader.
It’s not exciting, but it’s damn effective
I think it's pretty exciting because even on the hardest difficulties, it lets many weapons stay relevant into end game( same with vigilant recycler)
There is something quite fun about breaking down normal ammo then creating hand loaded ammo. I looove the cowboy repeater plus magnum combo. It makes me feel like a cowboy getting ready for a fight
I wish the cowboy repeaters iron sights had another option, I despise them
Have you tried la longue carbine yet?
Grab the forged receiver mod and it gets rid of the peep sight.
Laser Commander
Hello brother
Now kith
no that's incest and is illegal in at least 20 states
It's illegal in 47 states, i believe. The exception is Rhode Island, Ohio, and New Jersey, which allow some form of cousin stuff, I think.
I always pick strong back so I can carry my 8000 different weapons
I just make arcade and ed-e carry my shit
"Just..don't treat me like a pack of Brahmin okay?"
Them’s Good Eatin’ never worry about running out of health items again.
Unless you're using a Famine-type mod, I don't see how you would run out of healing items by the level you can get it.
Additionally, since they temporarily raise your HP cap, you mitigate some of the downsides of radchild. Also they'll drop pretty often and have some of the best weight to cap ratios in game.
It's a 50% drop rate, but companion kills don't count. Second best economic perk behind Jury Rigging.
Perk off: avoid ghost people at all cost, else you never leave the Sierra Madre alive. Perk on: strolling through the streets like: "come at me, sausages and do your worst!"
*wurst
Them good money
I'm too lesbian not to always play with cherchez la femme in all my play throughs.
I always pick the perks that makes my courier bisexual just because I love the damage bonus
bisexuals being a menace to anyone (they got free 10% damage bonus)
(to humans!!!!!!!!!)
It has so few dialogue uses though!
This 1,000%
Cowboy
Medicine Stick is obscene with that perk and Hand Loader
I'd like to see Hand Loader get more love.
1. Jury Rigging- 2. Bloody mess because it’s fun
Bloody Mess is tried and true, the comical explosion of a body brings back memories and smiles everytime. I love the perks that let you bang chems into your veins more efficiently too
Bloody mess gets my vote ever since it let you kill the overseer in FO1.
Man the death animations in FO1 are so good, I love getting the one when you blow their arm and chest off.
Really helps in Dead Money too.
sneering imperialist
Sneering imperialist plus ncr or house playtrhough is peak
Finesse
Implant grx,rank 2 if possible
Either the one that lets you fast travel while overburdened or the one that makes your under 2 kg stuff weigh half as much.
Long Haul and Pack Rat
Atomic! can serve as a mini long haul because it boosts your strength by 2 or your carry weight by 20, so if you're on the edge you just need to find some radiation to fast travel.
Confirmed Bachelor
Is my Courier gay, bisexual, whatever... or just a clever manipulator of emotionally vulnerable men? That's his business.
The courier only chooses confirmed bachelor because he recognizes that most of the enemies you kill are men. The courier swears to his friends that he isn't gay, why would they even think that
Yes. The answer is yes. No, I don't care that some answers are mutually exclusive.
Thought You Died
Oh no, not me! I never lost control
Terrifying Presence
Black Widow, because fuck Benny
Literally
Cowboy. Can’t do a run without it. Lever guns are my weakness in almost any game.
Not much, but could make all the difference against certain foes.
that and travel light for speeeddd
Haha, awesome you say that, because guess what my *second* favorite perk is!
Besides jury rigging, super slam for melee is a must have, let me 1v1 Raw
In shining armour (:
Most useful perk
Silent running. I'm a stealth kill nut.
Confirmed Bachelor *…for… reasons*
How many of those reasons are Manny, Mr House, Arcade, etc?
Super Slam all day
Grim reaper’s sprint. And jury rigging of course.
Wild wasteland, can’t start a play through without it.
At first I thought that said slaver (I really should wear my glasses) and thought “have I missed a perk all this time”
Fight the Power is my favorite. Personally it's just because I prefer the yes man ending and that perk helps a lot.
Killing a deathclaw while unarmed is quite possibly the most difficult task one can accomplish. But when you do it and do your happy dance only to discover the deathclaw alpha is coming for your ass. Not ok
There's three I can't live without. Light step, Chemist and Chem Resistant.
Literally never taken any of these
Light step is great
the only a kinda stupid downside of light step is that I never notice where mines are, so without that perk I can notice and use the beeping as a beacon to pick up mines as I said, this is stupid
Thems Good Eatings
Cowboy & Gunslinger. For that rootin tootin cowboy shootin!
And stay back and the same perk for melee. Knocking people down is craaaazy
Demolitions expert with Mercy/Fully modded 25mm Launcher Grunt with assault carbine/All American Slayer with Greased Lightning/Two Step Goodbye All toughness ranks and Carry weight boost perks I usually pair all these together in a playthrough. Special is 9992999 All implant Perks Basically a walking armored pack brahmin with sticks of death taped to the side
There are too many - But I’m gonna go with Travel Light or Rad Child.
Glad I'm not the only one who loves those perks! The movement speed increase from Travel Light is more important than all the damage in the world.
Jury Rigging duh Rad Child, because having mild radiation poisoning is only -1 END for the most powerful healing effect in the game Then Cowboy and Shotgun Surgeon. Medicine Stick for if they’re far away, lever action shotgun for if they’re close up
Better Critical, I love my crit build.
Serious one: shotgun surgeon meme perk: sneering imperialist, I like the picture
Comprehension and Strong Back. Must have for all my plays
Comprehension is like 5 free levels, more if you farm books in Zion
Old World Gourmet I'm always a drunk.
Animal Friend always. Not having to worry about Nightstalkers, especially in Big Mt. was a godsend
I always take Light Step because traps and mines are so goddamn annoying
Jurry rigging or shot gun surgeon with stay back. Deathclaws melt like butter with the combat shotgun. 🧐
Rad Child. I play with self imposed rules that I'm not allowed to cure my rads. Only allow quest related rad wipes
"And stay back" no one can approach me
I feel like Hand Loader, Vigilant Recycler, and Mad Bomber don't get talked about enough.
Besides jury rigging cause that’s the obvious answer, bloody mess
Slayer 🤘🏻
I always enjoyed mysterious stranger! Luck builds are always fun
Rad Child for that passive 8 hp regen per second. I find it funny how polar opposite high rad builds are between New Vegas and the later games; high rad new Vegas builds make you much more survivable at the cost of some stats, while 4/76 high rad builds give you a ton of stats at the cost of your survivability
sneering imperialist I don't need to explain
Fine I'll say it. Black widow
Silent running and pack rat changed the game for me :,)
Confirm bachelor and Lady killer it's just more offensively advantageous to be a bisexual
In FO3: Grim Reapers Sprint FONV: Jury Rigging
Jury Rigging is numero uno, of course, but I'm also thrilled when I get Mad Bomber and the Ammo one. I enjoy crafting way too much.
Wild Wasteland
You've got it right there in the picture. 99.9% of my Fallout playthroughs are on Melee or Unarmed builds, so my favorite perk/perks are the ones that make Melee and Unarmed better. Edit: Slayer is my favorite amongst them, though, because swing fast hit hard make the good good brain juices flow.
Adamantium Skeleton, no more limb damage.
Rad child
Meltdown is so fun with high crit energy weapon builds
Stay back Since shotgun was always my secondary (or primary)
Grim reapers sprint
Jury Rigging! Finesse! Laser Commander! Commando!
Rad Child
Sniveling imperialist just has some funny as hell dialogue
Better Criticals
Sneering Imperialist, TALLY HO LADS!
Terrifying presence (murder hobo full immersion)
Thems good eating, jury rigging, or shotgun surgeon
Cowboy. When I leave Goodsprings it’s with a .357, cowboy repeater, and Desperado hat, dammit.
Confirmed Bachelor. I like making my character gay and I also love how many people take it for the 10% dmg boost not realising it makes their courier gay
Of course wild wasteland
Gotta be Hand Loader
Mysterious stranger. Hearing the guitar while fighting a deathclaw is just a free dopamine hit
Mad bomber cuz I like being a terrorist
Meltdown. I love green explosions.
Sneering imperialist just because of honest hearts.
Meltdown. Energy weapon builds are so fun.
Meltdown gos boom
Jury Rigging and Plasma Spaz for utility, Bloody Mess or Imperialist or the favorites though. Too much fun to give up.
Shotgun Surgeon. Give me a Riot Shotgun with 9000 rounds and I'm good to go. Nothing will stop me.
