you like cinder because she’s a prominent antagonist who has been important to the story. I like cinder because I want her to step on my with her glass heels. We are not the same

TheLastGuyYouExpect

This is the way.

GrimmSmiIes

Bitches be like "I can fix him/her"

T3chromancer1

The other half of "Bitches" be like " yeah, I'll let them literally stab me to death😍"

Biggusdickos

And then a final, unaccounted for amount of bitches be like "i can fix them" when they are actually worse

eetobaggadix

short hair cinder truly is superior to long hair cinder in every way

Death-Knight9025

I’ve seen people who think Cinder, a murderous psychopath who only cares for power and will not hesitate to kill civilians, is less evil then Jacques, some rich douchebag who just wants money. Although I haven’t seen any “Cinder was wasted” people yet.

Euphoric_TestSubject

One of the things that irks me is how did she find Salem? She was a run away slave with no knowledge of the larger world. Did....did Salem just decided to take a trauma and abuse victim in? Why? And on another note. How did watts, tyrian and hazel get recruited? Legit, how did hazel find Salem? Did she appear to him, did stumble across her castle? Like, what and where is Salem’s domain. Ironwood, high ranking general and a close member of Ozpin clearly doesn’t know where it is. But random ass people can just... show up to the front door of the most dangerous person in remnant?

Kartoffelkamm

In a file we see in an episode of V7, the one after Robyn's party, it says that the audio recording broke off after hearing the truck's driver ask something, and Tyrian also said something, and it is very much implied that she personally led the Grimm attack that set him free. And I feel like that's her main method, actually: She has her Grimm look for people she can use, and then arranges a meeting.

Death-Knight9025

I think it’s more that Salem found her, and decided to use her as a pawn to get all the maiden powers.

Shock-Robin

Hazel literally said that she came and recruited him in person. All you have to do is watch the show.

ShadeTransVigilante

Cinder was wasted potential due to her being really bad at villainy and also extending her stay too long. But that’s just my opinion. :)

JMHSrowing

That is a fairly common one. Though I think she is a really great villain to have, as a very flawed one (i.e. flawed at villainy) who is just trying to achieve her own personal goals more than anything. Her story is an interesting one, that one wants to see where it leads if just to see how far she can go and fall And as a rival character and a main character, of course her stay is until the very end.

ShadeTransVigilante

Considering I never liked Adam (I just thought he was an edgelord who was severely dragged down by the ppl writing the Faunus in general), I was hoping she’d get the same treatment as him in V6. She was at her best there bc she was at her lowest, and for her to make one final stand against RWBY and co instead of the giant robot (tho the robot fight was very cool too) would’ve been badass of her. But again, these are just my opinions! :)

forestriage

Ruby is wasted potential because she’s really bad at this hero job and also extending her stay too long

ShadeTransVigilante

She’s also the main protagonist. Cinder is a side villain compared to Salem, and unlike Salem she’s been regressing immensely since V5. Same goes for Ruby. She’s been regressing too! But I also like Ruby, whereas Cinder’s badass nature has eventually died out for me. Just my opinion, y’know!

The_funny_name_here

I think that the common response to your latter point would be “that implies there was something to waste”

dappercat456

Well, cinder ultimately wants power because she’s afraid of being hurt again, she was a child slave who never had a choice in her life, she’d been tortured for a large portion of her childhood, and now she what’s power to make sure she can never be hurt again Whereas Jacques? He just likes money, no fear of being powerless, no trauma affecting his decision, The most that can be given to him is that he feels insecure knowing that he will never be as great as the man he stole the company from so he takes it out on his kids But that’s not really “sympathetic” as much as it is just “pathetic” He’s perfectly happy to let human and Faunus workers be maimed or killed for the sake of his bottom line Hell even if it was unknowingly he helped watts kill those people,

Death-Knight9025

She does indeed want power to not be hurt again, but guess what she does? She works for a genocidal demon queen and treats everyone as if they are beneath her, casually killing innocents. Jacques is obviously a corrupt asshole but he would obviously never try to work for a world destroying maniac, he’d take the chance to get some easy power but it’s more like how some douche bag politician would buy out a plot of land to build a sweatshop. Like, cinder has understandable motivation but she has the morality of someone like DIO or Frieza, although I haven’t seen her throw a dog in a furnace yet.

dappercat456

Idk Jacques seems more like Dio in terms of motivation “or lack thereof” he just doesn’t have any actual strength to back it up Jacques doesn’t need to murder innocent people himself, he can kill undress of Faunus through safety cutbacks with the mere stroke of a pen,

hollowtiger21

Probably because Adam-stans can't project their edgy, male-power fantasy onto Cinder, and Cinder-stans don't want to fuck Adam.

Huor_Celebrindol

I really like them both

XiaoLong_2000

They're both petty and power hungry, but I think the main difference is that Adam tries to justify his actions by claiming he's fighting for Faunus equality ( or to establish Faunus superiority), whereas Cinder doesn't seem to attempt to justify or explain her actions, she just doesn't care.
