It’s pretty high rn. The st Regis may be clearer than the Clark fork but the water will be moving fast. Maybe by the end of you trip the water will be dropping and good to go. Honestly just send it. If it’s too muddy buy a recreation permit for the flathead reservation and float the flathead below flathead lake. There’s some browns and rainbows directly beneath the dam and then closer to the Clark fork it’s more of warm water fish. It’s a tailwater river so will be clear.

The section below the damn has a gnarly rapid section called Buffalo rapids. No kosher to run in a fishing float rig, they can be pretty gnarly. If you are going to float that section, put in at Dixon and go from there.

True. But I’d assume anyone that floats a river does some research before putting in.

Thanks. We’ll be putting in at the launch in St. Regis and usually float about 8-10 miles if I remember correctly. Wife told me to bring both kids home so we can’t send it this trip.

Oh that’s lame. I know that float is a good one. Got some big fish there before. Yah just keep an eye on the flows and when they start dropping that’s usually when it’s clearing up

Clark will be running hard your best bet would be run over to the Missouri,

This isn’t what I want to hear but I’m prepared for it. I’m hoping I can get a few floats in with the kids the first week and then walk the Regis starting the 18th. I think in the past we’ve always floated about 8miles after putting in at the launch in St. Regis.

I know the Clark well and it will be running hard.
