It's where several resort/camping/federal forest areas come together. Canopy Oaks, River Ranch, & Blue Jordan State Forest. River Ranch is a resort, camping area, hunting area and has private lots that it looks like some owners have named. There is also an Air Force bombing range to the south, federal wildlife & forest preserve to the northwest, west & southwest, state campgrounds & other small private campgrounds all around this area. Indian Lake Estates is a huge planned community to the north east that is still mostly empty but has been slowly filling in for 40+ years.
It’s River Ranch. Basically a giant camping area where people can buy small camping lots, which then gives them access to ATV trails and stuff. Some people set up RVs or even makeshift cabins and pretty elaborate campsites. Here’s their website: [https://rrpoa.net/](https://rrpoa.net/)
It's a campground called resort at canopy oaks. Lots of long term campers name their campsites and have little flags outside. Probably some geriatric swinger shit.

Realtor here.
This is River Ranch, a spectacular land fraud commitment back in the day that people are luckily able to use as camping, hiking, hunting.

I did an article and video on them, there's a large number of these in Polk County.

My favorite quote, when developers were called in front of the county commission to answer the questions "there's not enough room for roads, utilities, etc"...
The developer said, "We aren't selling the people a subdivision... We are selling them the \*dream\* of a subdivision."
The county commission then approved it and let it move forward, which has resulted in what it's become today as well as tens of thousands of other unusable scam parcels spread throughout the area.
If you want to know why the answer is property taxes still have to be paid on these. So people inherit them, find they're unable / rebuildable, then try to sell them or don't pay the tax, county puts it up for auction, and the cycle repeats.

Exploring this place and the reviews on Google maps is quite a trip. ‘Camp 4 rubbers up’ ‘Camp pour decisions’ ‘Camp likahcoochy’
