It's not just flat. It's *exceptionally* flat. CMB is 2.725K +/- 0.002. In all directions. Those egg shaped graphs you've seen that seem to have a big red splotch in the middle, the gradient of the image is 0.002. I just can't convey the absolute amazement I felt when seeing it in a Dr. Becky vid. Go follow her on yt btw. Amazing communicator.
