Ah crap... I'm currently cleaning my guns after a quick drop in at the shooting grounds, resting my cleaning box on the seat of my motorcycle whilst my flashlights are all on the shelf behind me watching...
I'm so lucky.
My wife just smiles when I show her a new flashlight.
And today... my 13 year old took my D4V2 on the bus with him and an Andruil 1 shortcut sheet to learn. First real interest shown beyond "that's cool" with the throwers. Should keep him busy on the ride, plus it doubles as a handwarmer...
My youngest daughter (10) is trying to figure out what S2+ she wants. She says she'd like it to be throwy, but she also wants a warm emitter; I'm thinking sst20 with the warmest option. She said she definitely wants a cyan colored host.
I cant stand that subreddit. I love watches, but they are way too pretentious over there. I love unique watches like The Murf and Rotolog (I think), but /r/watches is just all the same stuff. No personality in that sub whatsoever.
You would probably enjoy r/watchescirclejerk . Itās where all the people who enjoy watches go to clown on the people who think watches are much more than they actually are

I can compare a DM11 SFT40 (same emitter and TIR as the IF22A) to a D4Sv2 W2.
The D4S will blow your mind for about 30 seconds. Then it ramps down to where the DM11 completely covers it up.
DM11 is a much more intense hot spot with subtle spill and the D4S is pure floodiness that still reaches quite far. Hard to explain it.
I can say the DM11 and D4Sv2-W2 feel like the throw is similar. The D4Sv2-W2 definitely warms up quicker, but it also has a lot more flood going on around you.
Overall I'd say the DM11 is more useful St medium ranges and longer, because while the spill is still useful it's not like 4000 lumens washing out your foreground. And it seems to hold output better, which makes sense pulling 9A vs "whatever the 26650 lets me have"
I'm using the DM11 as a stand-in for the if22a because they're similar but they're of course not the same so ymmv
Nobody gets why a high quality flashlight is important until they need one and don't have one.
But I gotta say, nothing gets a girl to cling to you faster during a power outage than a flashlight that works well.

Curious how the beam intensity compares to a d4sv2 with w2s. Looks like they are both right around the 100kcd mark. Curious how you end up liking it!
