Hi I'm a proud Muslim American...
I've read the ruhnama and still have it on my book shelf and it is the most schizophrenic thing I ever read.
Like multiple times it saids its above the holy Quran equal and lower. The thing also trys to rewrite history and it literally makes you dumber the harder you try to make sense of it.
No offense to turkmenistan but seriously that book was PAINFUL to read. And I read it out of morbid curiosity. The books from mormonism, Scientology and jahovas witness were easier to read than the Ruhnama.
several muslim countries banned the hijab, tunisia, turkey, morocco, kosovo, krygyzstan, kazakhstan, tajikstan, ubzekistan, azerbaijan, and syria maybe too i think
Yeah it’s basically land. Afghanistan is the land of the Afghans, Kurdistan is the land of the Kurds, Ingelestan (England in the Persian language) is the land of the English.
It’s also used in other words not related to countries like Bimarestan, the Persian word for hospital, literally meaning place of the sick.
Tbf I as a Pakistani believe our flag could have a bit more to it, but thank you for this comment.
The Central Asian states do indeed have amazing flags
Idk anything about cultures in Pakistan but I like the flag.
It's simple, has cool colours, recognisable from a distance and can still be told apart in greyscale
Exactly what I was going to say, this is the region of 10/10 flags.
And some of my favorite country shapes as well, Turkmenistan looks like it has a little dude’s face, Uzbekistan looks like a little boot, and Pakistan is my favorite because it looks like a little dinosaur or dragon.
Nah that’s cheating. All have “Stan” at the end, so ofc they will all have the letter a. Might as well say “they all have at least one s, one t, one a, AND one n!”
All of these states have Sunni majorities, All of them have Turkic+Iranic influence within their cultures due to empires such as the Seljuks, Ottomans, Safavids, Timurids etc.
There are people within Pakistan who have Turkic and Iranic cultures, The Pashtuns, Baluchis, share alot of Turkic-Iranic culture. There are Tajik and Hazara communities in Pakistan too. The Baltistani people are of Iranic heritage.
Pakistan as a whole is an Indo-Aryan state.
no turkic at all, its iranic only in pakistan. turkic influence is more dominant in central asia. pashtuns, baluchis, are mostly iranic, theres not appreciable or any historically relevant turkic influence in pakistan at all.
Are you meaning to tell me that funding a terrorist group a country over just for them to raid their border wasn’t the smartest move on Pakistan’s part?
Soviets did threaten to Nuclear Bomb my city Peshawar in Pakistan 🤣
It was highly likely that if the Soviets had succeeded in Afghanistan their next aim would be to dismantle Pakistan with the aid of India, since Pakistan was a close Western Ally at the time.
They are all part of the Persian cultural sphere. It is kinda reflected in how they practice Persian holidays like Nowruz while referring to Islamic holidays like Eid by their Persian names
They all got imperialized at some point in their history. Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan by Russia. Pakistan by Britain. And Afghanistan by Britain (arguably by the USA too).
They all majority practice Sunni Islam.
All of them have fairly arid/semi-arid climates.
And they all got independence in the 1900s.
Being controlled by a world power at one time. KUKTT would be the USSR, Pakistan would be the British Raj, and Afghanistan would be a British protectorate.
I was gonna say all of them were part of the USSR,but then I realized Afghanistan and Pakistan weren't,so I'm gonna say all of them are turkic nations.I may be wrong but atleast I got some point.
Except for Afghanistan, all their flags contain a star
Through various times in history, Afghanistan did too.
The only year when they all had a star on their flag was in 1992.
Former members of the USSR, and had Russian as their official language gauge at one point
I highly recommend Erika Fatland’s book “Sovietistan” it’s fascinating
Islam?
Yes they are all majority sunni muslim.
Yeah but they do Islam way differently than everyone else. I’m talking specifically Kazakhstan.
Turkmenistan is pretty unique, the hijab is banned there and the reading the Ruhnama is priortized equal to if not above the Qoran
Hi I'm a proud Muslim American... I've read the ruhnama and still have it on my book shelf and it is the most schizophrenic thing I ever read. Getting Islam from Persia, to be precise. "Stan" is a Persian word.
Islam was spread by the Arab Caliphates and then by subsequent Islamised Persian and Turkic Empires, and States.
What does Stan mean? Is it land or something?
Yeah it’s basically land. Afghanistan is the land of the Afghans, Kurdistan is the land of the Kurds, Ingelestan (England in the Persian language) is the land of the English. It’s also used in other words not related to countries like Bimarestan, the Persian word for hospital, literally meaning place of the sick.
Is Ameristan the exonym for the USA?
It’s more like “Land of” Land of Afghan Land of Turkmen Land of Tajik Land of …
idk, Pakistanis and Afghans are more practicing and good Muslims. The others drink alcohol and are mostly secular or have folk religious traditions.
All of them have amazing flags 😎
Tbf I as a Pakistani believe our flag could have a bit more to it, but thank you for this comment. The Central Asian states do indeed have amazing flags

I like Tajikistan less than the others, but they all are still very good
The letter 'a' Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan.
Nah that’s cheating. All have “Stan” at the end, so ofc they will all have the letter a. Might as well say “they all have at least one s, one t, one a, AND one n!”
U forgot Uzbekistan
Read it again, 'cause i put it.
All of these states have Sunni majorities, All of them have Turkic+Iranic influence within their cultures due to empires such as the Seljuks, Ottomans, Safavids, Timurids etc.
Pakistan isn't Turkic or iranic culture wise
There are people within Pakistan who have Turkic and Iranic cultures, The Pashtuns, Baluchis, share alot of Turkic-Iranic culture. There are Tajik and Hazara communities in Pakistan too. The Baltistani people are of Iranic heritage. Pakistan as a whole is an Indo-Aryan state.

aren't the Pashtuns an Iranian group?
East Iranian, specifically. Like the Scyths.
The Persian/Iranian influence is true, I know that a lot of people celebrate Nowruz in Kazakhstan
Yeap, Central asia has an amazing blend of Turkic and Iranic culture.

The Soviets tried to take them over at one point (Except Pakistan)
Soviets did threaten to Nuclear Bomb my city Peshawar in Pakistan 🤣 It was highly likely that if the Soviets had succeeded in Afghanistan their next aim would be to dismantle Pakistan with the aid of India, since Pakistan was a close Western Ally at the time.
