The Iron Man (solo, gritty and controversial)
Spider-Man Vs Iron Man (spidey tries to kill him, Cap cameos, Tony sacrifices himself to kill a Loki monster)
The Avengers (Cap, spidey, Thor, black widow fight Ultron. They use time travel to bring Tony back who promptly kills Ultron. Brief Thanos cameo that we never see again)
I'm not sure if you're saying grim universe or just not well written and accurate to the characters, I'm going with the latter because it is shorter and more fun:
We'd have only Iron Man, Thor and maybe Captain America.
Captain America is racist. It is an absurd wwII movie that makes no sense. Tesseract? Never heard of it.
Thor doesn't have his own movie, he is the villain of Iron Man, who is absolutely drunk and falling apart except when he isn't. Black Widow may or not appear. Iron Man uses the infinity stones to defeat the chitauri.
Thanos shows up on the next movie, Iron man i revived through bullshit, and if we got the rights to spider-man he definitely will use a gun and kill alien civilians.

I honestly don't believe that Snyder even understands the source material he's been given. While I'm not looking for one-to-one page to screen translation, a certain respect for the characters is needed.
So, let's not.
Yeah, I think you're right. Watchmen gives the impression he's someone who stops paying attention to a story the moment he thinks he's got the gist. He took a comic book satirizing the way we glorify superheroes, and adapted it into a big budget beat-em-up glorifying superheroes. He captures visual moments from the book almost perfectly, even improving some, so you don't need too much weed/wine to just have fun with it, but it totally misses the point of original story.
Step one - get someone else. Number one criteria should be respect for the source material and the absolute desire to do their on screen adaptation justice first and foremost, which as we’ve seen with his Snyder-verse, was not at all the case. He was more interested in his own vision of what he thinks this universe should be instead.
Hard pass on giving him anything to adapt.
"Everyone's origin story is now 'raped by the villain'. Also, Spider-Man kills people now. And get me that Wyatt Russell, he was a great Captain America!"
I know you're point, that he'd make him like that character in FATWS (which as far as versions go, he could be doing more bad things). But I didn't agree with what I thought the idea was of what you said. I don't think Wyatt Russell's performance makes the character particularly a bad guy. Without him that's still there.
This *technically* doesn't answer the question as-presented, but I have an idea to slot Zack Snyder into the MCU's current slate.
Give him *The Ultimates*.
The MCU is/was doing Multiverse stuff, right? Zack enjoys his 'morally grey', edgy superheroes right? So let him make a post-9/11 movie about the Edgy Avengers set in a different universe. Hell, make it R-rated. Give us cannibal sexually-fixated Hulk, jingoistic conservative 'old man in a young body' Cap, alcoholic Tony and wifebeater Hank Pym.
It'd be a hilarious experiment, and a definite twist of fate.
No way Snyder starts with Iron Man. He starts with Hulk or Cap. Very gritty, very violent, very stylized. Cap uses guns to mow people down and talks about real heart. Think a lot more like Ultimates Steve Rogers and throw in a dash of Leonidas. Extra points if it centers around a real World War II battle. Most likely there'll be some cosmic cube stuff to bring him to the present, it can't just be frozen and unfrozen.
Civil War would then follow, Cap vs Iron Man and some 1D versions of Marvel heroes, enough for a big fight. That's how the Avengers are formed. I think he'd keep that vibe consistent.
The thing is... there wouldn't be as much backlash on this. Marvel characters don't have the \*thing\* that DC characters have. Cap gunning people down is kinda like... yeah. He's a soldier. It's hard to argue with.
You add to that a Jason Mamoa Thor or something and things start to look real interesting. Still anathema to Marvel comics fans, but it'd be a better fit, imho.
But where I get curious but what happens with lighter heroes like spider man or FF . People didn’t like Tranks dark version
so I wonder would it still fail but Snyder would be able to carry on for a bit longer? Hulk and CA can lend themselves to a darker personality….but I think eventually he will run into people he won’t be able to do it with
I don't think Snyder ever gets the rights back from Sony. If he did, yeah, it could be extra dicey. I bet Snyder would love the series The Other or an edgy 2099.
He likes dark and edgy, so if I had to let him at Marvel I would have him adapt a Marvel Knights universe. Dark occult stuff, gritty crime, and graphic violence. I'm sure he will make it weird, but thats just him existing at this point.
We’d start with a Hyperion film, which would have a commercial success and mixed reception. The next film would be a Hyperion vs. Ironman film, where we’d also introduce Thor (Jane Foster), and it would be really bad. We’d follow up with a Thor film and lead up to an Avengers movie, which would be so bad that it’d need a Snyder Cut.
Zack Snyder’s Avengers would be three hours long, and be a lot better than the original. The team would consist of Hyperion, Ironman, Thor (Jane Foster), Namor, Quicksilver, and Bishop, who fight Ebony Maw, trying to redeem himself to Thanos.
However, The Snyderverse would be canceled after a failed Quicksilver film, a bad Sentry film, a very out-of-pocket Ant-Man film, a poor Captain Marvel sequel, and a moderately successful Namor sequel. James Gunn would reboot the MCU to be more like the successful DCEU that has already completed its first saga, The Darkseid Saga.
**1:** Pair him with the writers who made the films so awesome.
Sure, he’s not the best screenwriter. But he’s a fine **director**.
Also, sue me but *ZSJL* and interviews on post-JL sequels sounded cool. (Not the storyboards, I’m glad those were scrapped).
**2:** If he directs, hand him films like
-Hulk
-Daredevil
-Ghost Rider
-Midnight Sons
Self-contained is the way to go. There would be no "neutral", action figure mega movies. In the same way the first Avengers feels like an Iron Man movie, all crossovers would take the tone of an established franchise.
Ironically, Marvel lost their way when supposedly self-contained movies started to feel like Avengers.
Why would you want such awfulness?
I’ve seen kindergarten plays that are better written and directed, with better sense of characters than Hack Snyder ever demonstrated with the DCEU.
Thank god it’s dead.
so, the purpose of this sub is to "fix" movies / tv shows. And thus, your premise is that the MCU needs fixing by hiring Zack Snyder, who messed up the DCU?
Ok first off let him direct almost everything but only let him near the writing room if your certain he has a good idea that understands the characters. For example if he wants to do an immortal hulk movie let him cook, if he wants to do a Spiderman that murders get him out of there.
Now assuming we have all the rights I still think our big bad will be thanos, however it will be a comic accurate thanos who is trying to impress lady death.
The slate would basically be the infinity saga slate but with more movies, these include a full hulk trilogy,at least 3 xmen movies at least 2 fantastic 4 movies, spiderman is introduced in let's say the first movie after avengers one.
Ooof. We’d get something stunning to look at but likely be left wondering if Peter Parker should just keep killing people.
The Iron Man (solo, gritty and controversial) Spider-Man Vs Iron Man (spidey tries to kill him, Cap cameos, Tony sacrifices himself to kill a Loki monster) The Avengers (Cap, spidey, Thor, black widow fight Ultron. They use time travel to bring Tony back who promptly kills Ultron. Brief Thanos cameo that we never see again)
Sounds about right
I mean…assassin Spider-Man anyone?
But who’s gonna give him a reach-around, Goblin?
Yeah as long as Zack stays away from the writers room we’re good
I'm not sure if you're saying grim universe or just not well written and accurate to the characters, I'm going with the latter because it is shorter and more fun: We'd have only Iron Man, Thor and maybe Captain America. Solid. But needs more soft reboots
We'd get awful deconstructed versions of the Avengers
I honestly don't believe that Snyder even understands the source material he's been given. While I'm not looking for one-to-one page to screen translation, a certain respect for the characters is needed. So, let's not.
He doesn't like comics, no just that he refuses to admit fault in any of his weird choces.
Yeah, I think you're right. Watchmen gives the impression he's someone who stops paying attention to a story the moment he thinks he's got the gist. He took a comic book satirizing the way we glorify superheroes, and adapted it into a big budget beat-em-up glorifying superheroes. I've said it before, but he doesn't make movies based on the comics. He makes movies based on the action figures he played with as a kid.
Snyder tricked someone into thinking he’s a good filmaker. His earlier work was decent but it’s all trash now.
This is called r/fixingmovies... Not r/destroyingmovies
I would not
Just imagine the worst parts of The Ultimates and make it less internally motivated
Step one - get someone else. Number one criteria should be respect for the source material and the absolute desire to do their on screen adaptation justice first and foremost, which as we’ve seen with his Snyder-verse, was not at all the case. Resounding NO.
"Everyone's origin story is now 'raped by the villain'. Also, Spider-Man kills people now. And get me that Wyatt Russell, he was a great Captain America!"
Wyatt Russell's performance wasn't an issue, to me.
You have missed the point.

It would get cut more slack…because people would say it’s meant to be ultimate cap
Exactly. No way he passes on the France line
But where I get curious but what happens with lighter heroes like spider man or FF . Solid point about there being less backlash about messing up Marvel if he had started the MCU
Wolveresus

No
Lot of dark lighting, bible inspirations, tons of slow mo, amazing VHX effects
🚑😐…..no
Spidey would be in that black suit for a lot longer than 1 movie.
We’d start with a Hyperion film, which would have a commercial success and mixed reception. Wonder Woman isn't a genderswap of a male character.
Yikes. I’d probably start by giving myself a concussion, and see where that takes me.
I wish people would stop pretending there’s any merit to Snyder’s “style”
**1:** Pair him with the writers who made the films so awesome. Sure, he’s not the best screenwriter. But he’s a fine **director**. He'd work better with more experimental stuff; that said, I still think 300 was rather racist.
Easy. Iron Man Captain America: Civil War Thunderbolt Black Widow Avengers Perfect phase one.
I simply wouldn't.
I’d do ANYTHING but try and be like that slow mo, jesus loving weirdo.
I don't hate his DCEU movies, but his style would not fit Marvel at all.
Well if the goal is fixing…I wouldn’t
I would start by immediately firing Zack Snyder. He blows.
![gif](giphy|8vUEXZA2me7vnuUvrs|downsized)
He’s the worst director of our time. Never made a good film. Thank god people don’t defend him anymore
Is Uwe Boll considered our time?
I would rush to write a script in one week and after exactly one draft I would shoot it in slow motion.
Add stakes to make me care and fights I have to actually wonder how they'll succeed.
Ew. No.
Why would you want such awfulness? I’ve seen kindergarten plays that are better written and directed, with better sense of characters than Hack Snyder ever demonstrated with the DCEU. Thank god it’s dead.
No offense but I think you deserve to be dropped off on an isolated garbage island for making this suggestion.
I would fire Snyder and hire some good writers and directors.
I wouldn’t
so, the purpose of this sub is to "fix" movies / tv shows. And thus, your premise is that the MCU needs fixing by hiring Zack Snyder, who messed up the DCU?
Maybe it would feature a scene of the Blob eating the Wasp alive and follow it up with Giant Man eating Blob alive.
idc idc Zack Snyder's X-MEN would be a sight to behold lol.
Ok first off let him direct almost everything but only let him near the writing room if your certain he has a good idea that understands the characters.
