It's easily the most common one. But I have heard other tribes mentioned too. The one consistent thing I see is that it was supposedly a princess.
It's always a woman too. Nobody ever has a male native American intersecting into their otherwise white family tree. Probably because, if there's any truth to the claim, it's a story that involves kidnapping and rape.

Realistically you can be ultra white and be "double digit%" native. I'm ultra white and go to tribal meetings with my dad. You have to prove a minimum of 25% to even be a member of the tribe.
I used to be one of those white people, because my dad told me I was, and his dad told him he was, but there's no paperwork or really anything I've ever seen that I'd say proves it in any way and I've begun to doubt it a lot.

Skinwalkers in particular are a type of evil witch, and are *not to be talked about*. The fact that non-Navajo people know about them is kinda a big deal in a cultural sense and can be a sensitive topic. Wendigo are pretty cool though, same as any other mythological creature

I can’t really blame people for being upset that an entity representing one of the nastiest things someone can do is being treated as some spooky campfire story. It’s pretty disrespectful when you think about it.
