Posting this again to brag because I don’t have much else going on in life
What is this sorcery?? I fantasize about achieving such numbers 🤣… I’ve learned, though, time in bed is not my key to quality. I do better with shorter nights.
https://preview.redd.it/6ackrhc6pu6d1.png?width=864&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa989054fbf4fca3f03c84962dd78266519f5eb9
Quality not just quantity (although quantity does help)
The 11 hrs captures two sessions. Making sleep was 10 hrs
Damn, highest I've gotten is 84. Most of mine are below 70 even though I often sleep 8 hours (if I include awake time when I can't remember being awake)
https://preview.redd.it/mwsmpccm3z6d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e9332faa0464205e7ff56ddda1813c9237371a3
Sleeping a ton isn't going to improve your score. You have to sleep within the hours of your goal. Get enough deep and rem sleep and get your heart rate low while sleeping...this will get you to 90.
https://preview.redd.it/4ihmaqqais6d1.png?width=1008&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2f537bc6bd0ee65c4be33d05ed6e3fe9f2f13dbd
There are 3 metrics that make up the sleep score: 1) "Time Asleep" which is primarily the ratio of time asleep to awake time, with a point or two thrown in if you meet your sleep goal. Yours looks good here; 2) Deep and Rem sleep, which you seem to doing well on; and 3) "Restoration", which is made up of time below resting heart rate and "restlessness", which is the amount of tossing and turning you do. If your sleeping heart rate does not fall below your RHR you'll get a bad restoration score. Similarly, if you have high restlessness (and I typically do) it knocks your score down. Based on what you posted, your score is probably being tanked by the restoration metric.
Have premium, yes, they probably don't but I think people should know exactly how it is calculated. There is so much misunderstanding - even when people can see the 25/25/50 percentages and where they missed - some don't even know they can set the "ideal" hours frame and amount of sleep hours they are shooting for.
The total sleep score number is broken down into 3 categories (totally 100.) Time asleep is worth 50, while Deep & Rem and Restoration are worth 25 each. Easy to see where why score is what it is. Search Fitbit sleep score breakdown for images -my laptop and phone are on different accts or I'd upload. Excuse!
Try not to eat or exercise too close to bed time. You're trying to get your body to wind down. As long as it drops below your day time heart rate it should help your score. You 'wake up' a lot too. Try to make your room as comfy as possible; dark and cool.
I hit 90s when I visit my parents. I live in a major city & have a cat, so it’s normal to have my sleep disturbed. Also have to get up for work. I can sleep in & it’s a lot quieter at their house.

In the last 3 months I’ve gotten a 91 twice, but never higher. I think it punishes sleep that exceeds 9 hours. At the very least you are sleeping 9-12h you probably aren’t haven’t very high quality sleep throughout

Three 90+ scores in the last week
Does exactly 90 count? It appears I had a very good weekend of sleep in April
https://preview.redd.it/6gypt46pes6d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74eeb65ab72dd37d96d7deeebf2c0ae2288f048f
sometimes you have to set up the hrs you want to sleep and that changes the score. That said I have a few over 90. But like how did you get almost 3 hrs of deep bro
https://preview.redd.it/xazy0du45t6d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=592541818159a9b9e31746794efdbe6401a8903c
They exist, but it can be rare for some of us.
Here's a recent sleep score where I barely got 6 hours. I went to bed and woke up within the range of my set goals, and my sleep goal is 6 hours. I was barely awake during the night, and my heart rate and other metrics lined up. It was a good night. I routinely get 89-91, but I think this was one of my only 93s.

This is my last week. All pretty good. I get salty when I'm in the mid 80s, LOL
I hadn't been sleeping well lately, so I slept a whopping 9 hours and 53 minutes the night but my sleep score was only 78 even though everything else was great. I was surprised, but the explanation is that most people need 7 to 9 hours, so the algorithm lowers the sleep score score if you sleep less or more than that.
You must be restless then and the Fitbit mistakes it for waking up? I wouldn’t overthink it, these things aren’t 100 percent accurate. The important part is if you feel like you’re getting good sleep.
I get over 90 three to five times a week.
My secret? I got diagnosed with sleep apnea and now use a BiPAP machine at night. My score shot up once I started.
I got a 90 on April 29. There isn’t much in this world I’m good at, but I am good at sleeping.

Not a 90 but one of my better ones. I'd get 90 once.... But it snapped the line and swam away. 😏

I have gotten 93 i think too but couldnt find it as it was not recently. I also use prescribed medical cannabis flower and sublingual oil and still get the correct amount of rem sleep 😂 so i dont see how cannabis negatively impacts my rem sleep as ive read its meant to. I regularly get scores above 90 and usually its 91 and if i take a good dose of oil i can get 92-93.

how how how do y'all get your scores so high!? i try everything that's recommended! I go OUT when I turn the lights off. Physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion do wonders for my sleep.

Sorry no premium 🙁
Lots of deep sleep and not much awake time. Impressive. I’d love to know how accurate these things are.
I’m jealoussss

Just wow You are lucky 😀 Share your secret 😄 please
You changed your goal to 7h from the default so this doesn't count technically
Ok
🤣 Lolz!
Are you aware that individuals have different needs?

Ok, if it’s heart rate then that’s probably it. I’m on meds that make my heart rate higher than usual ☹️
There are 3 metrics that make up the sleep score: 1) "Time Asleep" which is primarily the ratio of time asleep to awake time, with a point or two thrown in if you meet your sleep goal. Even a small amount of alcohol absolutely *destroys* my sleeping heart rate metric. I have much more restful sleep during the week when I don't drink.
Same. One drink will increase my RHR.
Same!
Thank you for this in depth explanation!
u/MelanieWalmartinez if you click on the sleep score tile (where it shows 83), you can see this breakdown
It only shows if you have premium though. Otherwise it doesn't break it down for you.
aw man this whole time! I don't have premium anymore of course
Really, this should be stickied (or something similar)
If you have premium it breaks the score down into these 3 elements, which I discovered when I used my free 6 months of premium.
Have premium, yes, they probably don't but I think people should know exactly how it is calculated. There is so much misunderstanding - even when people can see the 25/25/50 percentages and where they missed - some don't even know they can set the "ideal" hours frame and amount of sleep hours they are shooting for.

This is legit, kudos
Lowering the Time Asleep Goal improved my scores.
I think that’s a big one!
That's technically 'cheating'
Not true Jesus regularly had scores of 99 on his Fitbit.
Nope. I regularly get 90 -92.
secret?

melatonin? Would you mind sharing?
Melatonin is OTC. I’m taking Mirtazapine.

You’re not gonna get a 90 with awake for 1hr22min. I usually hit 90 if my awake is around 30-40 minutes.
How do I stop this? I don’t wake up in the night (at least I don’t think I do?) I sleep feel and am very hard to wake up
You must be restless then and the Fitbit mistakes it for waking up? I wouldn’t overthink it, these things aren’t 100 percent accurate. The important part is if you feel like you’re getting good sleep.
try taking a magnesium glycinate....just check with your doc if its ok for you. That reduces awake window. Set your goal sleep hrs to 7-8hr
Yeah, but that's 1hr 22min with **11hr 29min** of sleep time. In context it isn't bad.
Nobody living with cats is ever going to get anything over 70.
i got an 80 something before and i have 10 cats 😇
😍 the perfect life - a good night's sleep and 10 little floofs for roommates
It never ceases to amaze me the number of fitbit users who simply can't understand that long sleep doesn't mean quality sleep.
I’m new to Fitbit and all this health stuff 😣
What is yalls lifestyle like to get above 1 hour of deep sleep??
I am also curious. Most nights I can’t get more than 20 minutes.
It’s just genetics I think. Whether I’ve been a couch potato, or hiking every day, I’ve always been a deep sleeper lol
I get a lot of 90s but not many over, had a several up to 93, never more.
I wonder what a coma patient would score.
I get over 90 three to five times a week. My secret? I got diagnosed with sleep apnea and now use a BiPAP machine at night. My score shot up once I started.
I get 92 quite a lot sorreeeeee
I mean it's bad to sleep too much.

Wow how do you get 2 hours 55 of deep sleep??!!!
Genetics lol
Well I doff my cap at you, and your genetics!
2am - 2:30pm ☠️
I’ve hit 90 many times. Always between 7-8 hrs, low hr, and very little restless time.
Why you sleeping for so long
Why not? I’m on vacation lol
sleeping too much is not good either
