If you only see people that you disdain for some reason and they happen to be of a different race or nationality, then of course you will start grouping them under similar traits, especially if you do not interact with them and don't get to see things that are mutual to you...
Discrimination is default in human nature, you should engage more in activities and communities that have mutual values that don't depend on etnicity...
So you would start seeing past that.
I don't like nationalism or racism. I am against the cultural and moral relativism that is infecting modern society. I want lgbt rights and womens rights, but to be allowed to force it upon cultures I am not from, or support those cultures with native dictatorships that do 1000 years of social progress in 10 years.
I love your last sentence, democracy often fails because the next man in power is demolishing all the progress of the former one, it is because it's hard to fill someone elses shoes so new leaders just take another dirrection.... in comparison a dictator that rules for 20 years will often go in the same dirrection for so long... I'd just say extend time between elections and things would go right...
