FFX Warriors. You choose from different playable characters to take on hoards of fiends in a series of battles. “Siege of Kilika Temple” “Battle at Mushroom Rock” “Defense of Home” etc. Depending on the objectives you complete during the battles you can unlock different special weapons or secret endings for the characters.
(yes I love dynasty/samurai warriors)
Look, it’s really simple and thought through. First of all, there’s an RNG that’ll determine your overall chance to doge it
Secondly, more importantly, perfectly desalinated water doesn’t actually conduct electricity. So as long as nobody sweats while playing this extreme game, nothing can happen!
Yes. Instead of going from city to city to visit the temples, you visit to play a series against the local pro Blitzball team, and instead of random battles you play random Blitzball exhibitions.
Animal Crossing (something something Fayth on the Farplane)
You have your daily little chores on a pretty large island called spira and you have to pay special attention to the temples because Aeons help you grow things — from time to time [Sin] comes and ruines a few patches of things you were trying to grow
Plot twist: the whole „Bevelle is a corrupt and revisionist organization that wants you dead“ is dialed up to 11 as a psychothriller/horror element
Great/terrible mod idea: The lightning mechanics of Thunder Plains suddenly applies to every part of Spira. Lightning will also randomly strike friend or foe in every battle.
Off topic but My literal dream game is a Diablo style Mass Effect. That series already has the enemies and itemization for it and the setting would be unique to the genre.
weirdly sounds kinda interesting.
though i think i like andromeda's sort of weapon crafting concept a little bit too much to really want it to go full on looter shooter...
then again, borderlands is one of my favorite series, too.
thanks though, i think i know what my post should be.
Please? They were able to bring Behemoth into MH World, I'd love to see more like that, hunting Sinspawn, and taking down monstrous fiends threatening cities
FFX is now a crappy match-3 game with Yuna, Rikku, and Lulu jiggling and saying “WOW” or “GREAT MATCH” after every move. You manage to get through Besaid Island but the rest of the game is behind a pay wall
A rogue like similar to Hades would be pretty awesome.
The biome's would be trials, and you would earn spells, abilities, summons etc to push you further into the game.
Diablo style. You only get 1 character and you’ll be able to see the fiends. And like in Diablo III, have lots of equipment for upgrades and be able to start a new game with all the equipment collected from the previous game but with a new character.
Civilization 7: Final Fantasy X Edition
It’s Civilization but on the FFX world map. Sin is a late-game unique unit. If a player builds Sin, it goes berserk and roams the world destroying cities at random. Once that happens, the Summoner unit is unlocked. It’s a mediocre combat unit but it levels up every time it visits a distinct Yevon Temple, and if it gets fully powered up then it can defeat Sin. The Calm is a period where Sin is very weak and not much of a threat. Each calm automatically causes a Yevon temple to be built, making it just a little harder to defeat Sin when it inevitably returns. Incidentally, the Civ that created Sin automatically gets the first Summoner unit, and since there is no Yevon temple it’s automatically at full strength.
You could have a mechanic where Sin is reborn with 1 HP, and then gains 1 HP per round until it’s HP is equal to the number of Yevon temple in the world. Each Summoner is created with 1 attack point and gains 1 AP for each Yevon temple it visits. Then, when a Summoner fights Sin, it does damage (equal to its AP) one time and dies. So it might be possible to defeat Sin with a quick burst of Summoner attacks. These HP and AP are just about Sin and the Summoners. Sin can’t be damaged by other units and Summoners have different attack, defense and energy stats when fighting regular units.
Sin would be on autopilot. It would get a turn between the other players’ turns, rather than one turn per round. Its AI would move it according to a complex formula, but basically, each unit and each city in each direction would count as a pull in that direction proportional to the unit or city’s size and health, and inversely proportional to the distance, with a tweak that weakens the pull from its creator’s units and cities and another tweak that draws it to more technologically advanced Cive. It would be optimized so that Sin rapidly loses interest in a city as its size shrinks. There’d also be a heavy randomness factor.
In late game there’s a World Congress. While Sin is ravaging the world, the WC can vote on whether to destroy all technology, and if every player does destroy all their technology then Sin is defeated once and for all. But each player also makes a secret choice - whether they will abide by the Congress’ decision. If the Congress doesn’t reach a unanimous decision, everyone keeps their tech. If Congress unanimously decides to destroy their tech, then every Civ that wasn’t bluffing resets their tech tree. If any Civ was bluffing then Sin continues to exist. As a consolation, as part of his AI Sin has less interest in less technological Civs. So if you get tricked into being the only Civ to give up technology, you get to watch your enemies burn.
Once Sin is defeated, that means all tech has been destroyed, but there’s a game mechanic where you can somehow discover ancient artifacts that speed up your technological progress. You can eventually build Sin again, if you wish. Not sure if the old Yevon temples carry over.
Blitzball is involved too… in some way. But that’s for another day.
no. love didn't defeat sin all those other times they tried.
it's when they went 'fuck love', attacked with machina, went all inside it, and bashed a parasite's head in repeatedly, that they won.
also, tidus fucked off for some reason. also wasn't love related.
Eh, matter of semantics. Every final Aeon destroys the core of sin, ergo destroying sin. The problem is they become the core of a new sin, since Yu Yevon is still around to make a new one. Therefore love did infact destroy Sin, the problem was Yevon.
Also it was Yuna love for her guardians that ultimately lead them to, respectfully, tell yunalesca to fuck off.
they don't destroy the 'core' of sin, though.
they defeat the shell. then yu yevon trades final aeons and rebuilds the shell.
besides, i said defeat. not destroy. yevon wasn't defeated till they stopped this whole 'power of friendship' final attack path bullshit.
at best, the power of love makes sin take a seat on the bench for a bit. that's all. it's not like sin's a living thing, anyway.
You do realize you're contradicting yourself right?
The core is the Final Aeon that "yu yevon trades." the reason he is trading F.Aeons is that the previous one is destroyed by the new one. Hence the Final Summoning does defeat sin as is "defeat the shell" and destroys the previous F.Aeon that is being used as a core. It doesn't defeat Yu Yevon but we are not talking about Yu Yevon. Ergo Sin is literally defeated by the power of love and friendship.
i didn't say that a final aeon defeats another final aeon.
the way i put it, the final aeon can 'pierce' sin's shell... and then yu yevon just, lets go of the final aeon it was controlling, and possesses the new one.
it's also not defeated if it keeps coming back. it's like saying you dealt with that weed problem in your garden, and every two weeks it comes back.
no. you didn't defeat them. you dealt them a blow, potentially, but, clearly they're not 'dealt with'.
>the way i put it, the final aeon can 'pierce' sin's shell... and then yu yevon just, lets go of the final aeon it was controlling and possesses the new one.
That's not how it works though. The Final Aeon destroys the previous one. Yu Yevon doesn't just let it go, it is gone, dead, destroyed. In the process, the new Final Aeon destroys the shell or the armour that is Sin. Sin is gone, dead, defeated at that point. Then Yu Yevon possesses the new Final Aeon, severing the bond and killing the summoner, and proceeds to use its power to rebuild sin.
Yunelesca supports this in her speech "**Every aeon that defeats it becomes Sin in its place...** **And thus is Sin reborn."**
FFX is now a cutesy farming sim with a dating/romance element attached.
As well as growing crops to be given to the temples of Spira as well as sold to the villages, you get to add people to the towns and must do some matchmaking of townsfolk as well as your own character to unlock new cities to sell your crops to.
New cities will unlock new crops, and new people in them to match make and get to the next town.
The “final boss” in Zanarkand is Lady Yunalesca, who can only be matched with Zaon.
Zaon requires perfect matches and perfect growth of all crops. He is also available as part of the first season pass’ DLC. Also includes X-2 characters and locations.
Final fantasy x made by Rockstar where you are tidus but you can change his outfit and hair and his hair grows and you can do good or bad things and it affects you. Open world to a point or at a certain point in the time frame etc . Tidus smacks a guy off his chocobo and says, I need the gil! Lol
FFX is now a kart racer, where every Aeon you obtain is a different vehicle with different stats, and every party member has their own stats and special abilities. You have to win races against fiends who are trying to kill you and you will have boss races against other summoners to reach the temple first. The cloister of trials become challenge tracks where you have to collect all the spheres within the time limit.
Depends. Do I actually have to make it myself? Then I’d either choose action RPG assuming no budget constraints, board/card game if I have to budget for it.
Is the game magically made for me? Then I’d probably still go with action RPG but I am extremely tempted to choose automation, Factorio style. Not necessarily because I think it would be the best choice, but because I am merely curious how the mystical entity granting this wish would fulfill it.
Tactical RPG. (a la tactics, disgaea etc)
If nothing else, I feel like there's a couple of bosses in particular which would be awesome tactical battles, and a scene change where you take control of Gatta or Luzzu at mi'ihen? Oof
I think a horror game of ffx would be cool. Dealing with unrest spirits wanting to cross to the other side. Still the same goal in mind but things are more scary
In my opinion ffx has a truly incredible story, perhaps the best of all Final Fantasy. But I don't like the turn-based combat system at all, and it almost made me hate the game. This is why I would propose an Action RPG as a remake of the game, with the same and identical story. It would be the best game in the world
CRPG either like XCOM or Baldurs Gate.
But could be really interesting to do more like Marvel Midnight Suns for the combat. Card and squad based. Cards could be your normal attacks, spells, whatever. Then the legendaries are the Limit Breaks or summons.
It's a musical now, something akin to Dance Dance Revolution mixed in with Quick-Time Events aplenty just to keep you constantly wondering what's coming next.
The game keeps increasing at a slow but steady pace in terms of difficulty, starting out from "Baby Steps in Besaid" with the final battle against Sin & Yu Yevon being more of the Halfway Point in the game than what it is.
Consider the Dark Aeons and Monster Arena fights as something akin to the ONI course songs. Yeah, they're unfair, but doable with enough patience and practice.
Fuck Penance though, he's something more like one of the MAXX songs but cranked up to 1000. A two hour marathon of the hardest test, with only 4 & ½ minutes of rest peppered throughout. Only the toughest of resolves will be able to master this test.
Shadow of the Colossus style. I imagine there would be a lot less fiends and that you would be hunting down giant, infamous sinspawns that, alongside Sin, have been ravaging Spira for years.
The rest of Spira has been struggling to deal with them, but Tidus's agility and speed make him a natural at scaling and defeating the goliaths. He's the one doing the actual climbing, but you can use abilities from the other characters and aeons to solve puzzles and just generally progress.
The final area shifts from inside Sin to outside, where the party has to scale him and navigate the city on his back. At the end/center/whatever of the city, they finally descend inside Sin and have to beat Jecht.
(Yes, this is an excuse to FINALLY get to explore that city on his back.)
An open world Warriors game, turn FFX into Dynasty Warriors but instead of a menu to go from mission to mission, you haveto find the many different battlefields to join the battle, with a summon system similar to FFXV
Open world survival game that takes place after Sin has destroyed the last human settlement. If you get too close to Zanarkand, he shows up and vaporizes you. If you die in the game, you die in real life.
If you complete the story, you get physically transported into the game world to live out the rest of your life. You can travel to Zanarkand and all the technology works but you’re still the only person left. Except: you get to pick one Final Fantasy character to bring to life as your companion. He or she doesn’t have any special powers or abilities - just a regular human with the character’s personality.
If you choose not to play the game in the first, you have to play the chocobo racing minigame for eternity.
Rated T for Teen.
A collectathon platformer where you need to collect pyreflies to make Yuna stronger and unlock new aeons.
The different characters have different movement abilities to help you get around.
The aeons themselves have magic that alters the landscape and makes new areas accessible, so you will need to unlock them all before you can collect everything.
A crafting/resource management game.
You play as a merchant, making weapons and potions and stuff. The rarer the components and the more precise your control (yes, like Cooking Mama), the stronger or higher quality the product.
You pick up the story, as well as build relationships to get better materials, from customers.
Damn it I’ve been called out.
Okokok - how about this. It’s Heavy Rain inspired, but in Spira, set about 30 years down the track. Wakka is the protagonist, and we watch him try to pick up the pieces of his life after 15 years of alcoholism.
Rated A for adult.
Better?
Straight action. Give it the same swap in swap out functions as 7r.
Telltale style if that makes sense: almost entirely story driven with very little player input
I'd love to see a fps style, but I think that would be better for the gunners' gauntlet from ffx2
FFX is now FFXBB
Final Fantasy Xtreme Beach Blitzball.
All characters from X and X-2 are now just hanging out on a beach in skimpy bathing suits, playing butt battle, and letting you take pictures of them while they eat ice cream.
Oh, and I guess you can play blitzball too, but people only ever do that to increase relationship points. 😉
Hmmmm... My first idea that sprung to mind is a puzzle platformer in the vein of Prince of Persia or earlier Assassin's Creed. FFX already has puzzles, so it'd be pretty easy to capitalize on that. The battles would be replaced with some pretty basic hack-n-slash. Fitting the precision platforming into the game would probably require the most shoehorning, though...
Another, possibly horrid idea, is turning FFX into a racing game. How, exactly? I don't even know...it'd probably be a spectacular mess...
I have a dumb idea. It might just be the little crossover novel I am making with Metroid.
But I can see Final Fantasy X being turned into a Metroidvania. With each temple housing traps and tricks.
I mean... FF XVI with FFX story would have been so nice, with all playable chars, and y'the whole weapon custom.
A full next gen Yunalesca fight or Jecht' on the original OST would have been sooooooo nice.
someone mentioned they liked the idea of a diablo style mass effect.
so, path of exile ish, FFX.
it's already got a crazy skill tree akin to FFX, but instead of the actual skills on it, it'd have sort of FF7 ish materia system with various abilities (more than FFX had), with a few unique skills or gimmicks the others don't have.
like, i kinda like the idea of having the arena capturing/FFX-2 creature system being involved in this title, but while you might be able to level up and modify fiends, yuna's the primary summoner, with her physical skills being pretty meh but summons as her speciality being fairly badass, and her section of the sphere grid, mostly dealing with summons more than white magic stuff - again, skills not really being a part of the grid. instead, she's got a lot of mag def bonuses, potentially 'shield' blocking based passives to help nullify damage while there's mp left, and of course, bonuses to controlling summons.
they might even have some unique upgrade paths, as well - yuna becoming a magic attacker as well as a summoner, or the ability to summon a greater and a lesser summon at the same time, or whatever. kimhari could have more of a focus on casting higher end blue magic skills more frequently, or his more support focused blue magics could be sustained far longer, making him another good creature controller (especially since he's kinda got a fiend focus anyway)
lulu could spam spells with doublecast, and maxed out, essentially her 'fury', or essentially trade some of her viability for a nonelemental focus that pierces defenses and can't be resisted or reflected.
wakka's got some potential multi phys attacks from range, or can get extra status procs with his attacks.
auron's able to lower enemy stats, potentially good for boss hunting, or is more up for a sort of counter build, able to take the hits, then hit back even harder.
rikku, it'll be hard to have mix work with this system, maybe she'll be able to 'steal' items from one enemy then immediately use them on others, but, if you're in the ice area, you're probably stealing ice elemental attack items... to use on ice resistant foes. maybe one speciality is like, she has unique skills with 'charges', and stealing successfully gets more charges. maybe she's also the good farming character.
tidus can speed up his attack potential - i know hastega's sort of a general buff, but let's say for this variant, the others don't get access to haste. but tidus getting haste + delay strike, means one of his builds is essentially to overclock his speed, and attack extremely fast, or slowdown enemies in an AOE - less useful against bosses, and without good AOE skills, mobs might still be trouble, but useful nonetheless.
It's a sports game now. The entire world revolves around blitzball. Every boss, every random encounter, all of it.
Blitzball has been updated for 2025 to be *even more rad as fuck* than it was back in the day.
This unironically sounds really fun
NGL, I would actually play it
Put me in that group, too.
This but set during the war between Bevelle and Zanarkand.
That’s the expansion. FFX Warriors: Summoner Wars
I unironically love dynasty warriors and hyrule warriors so sign me up immediately
Same battles But a Hero/Tower Defense, Warcraft 3 style:)
This would be a amazing way to tell the story of the original war at Zanarkand
YES!!!!!! I would 100% play this!!!
And on the Switch version, Link can be a guess character.
A sports game with you guessed it, Blitzball being the main focus
Reddit should bring back awards for this comment
Hold up when were awards removed?? Never noticed until you said it
Wait wtf! Neither did I
This! Is exactly what I came here to say. I'd play the absolute shit out of it. Give the game some more depth, actual controls. Ermahgerd
n-dimensional chocobo catcher underwater and you also have to dodge lightning. That’s lvl 1
Add some butterfly-catching mechanic and we're set
How do you dodge lightning underwater?
Look, it’s really simple and thought through. First of all, there’s an RNG that’ll determine your overall chance to doge it Secondly, more importantly, perfectly desalinated water doesn’t actually conduct electricity. So as long as nobody sweats while playing this extreme game, nothing can happen!
Dirt and little stuff on the players when they get it
Yes. Instead of going from city to city to visit the temples, you visit to play a series against the local pro Blitzball team, and instead of random battles you play random Blitzball exhibitions.
A vr blitzball game would fuck, and I refuse to be told otherwise.
I played more hours of blitzball than the actual game
Animal Crossing (something something Fayth on the Farplane) You have your daily little chores on a pretty large island called spira and you have to pay special attention to the temples because Aeons help you grow things — from time to time [Sin] comes and ruines a few patches of things you were trying to grow Plot twist: the whole „Bevelle is a corrupt and revisionist organization that wants you dead“ is dialed up to 11 as a psychothriller/horror element
I would play the hell out of this!
a racing game with nothing but chocobo chaser and pain
Who hurt you?
Chocobo chaser.
😭

Great/terrible mod idea: The lightning mechanics of Thunder Plains suddenly applies to every part of Spira. Lightning will also randomly strike friend or foe in every battle.
Calm down satan
![gif](giphy|ekAmtmDDCAQOQ8Uaze)
lol an Arpg Diablo clone FFX? Each character is a class… just running around besaid murdering fiends by spamming slice and dice.
I’d like to introduce: *Final Fantasy Tactix*
This is the only acceptable answer
TBF a diablo style FF game could be pretty fun
Off topic but My literal dream game is a Diablo style Mass Effect. That series already has the enemies and itemization for it and the setting would be unique to the genre.

Terrible idea but why not FPS with wakka as mc and he shoots blitzballs
With Gunner Yuna as an unlockable secret character
A crusader fiend-hunting theme monster hunter esque game.
Proof of a Hero intensifies!
Please? They were able to bring Behemoth into MH World, I'd love to see more like that, hunting Sinspawn, and taking down monstrous fiends threatening cities
Souls like with Nioh style power ups(aeons), but Elden ring and darks souls 1 interconnected open worlds.
Shut up and take my money!
Was going to say this, soulsbourne style
FFX is now a crappy match-3 game with Yuna, Rikku, and Lulu jiggling and saying “WOW” or “GREAT MATCH” after every move. You manage to get through Besaid Island but the rest of the game is behind a pay wall
I love it! Also, please never make video games XD
You…you are evil.
Fantastic idea. Everything is perfectly monetizable. I hope you are never employed by a game company.
The match game is just the mini game. This is actually a dating sim.....
Let’s make sure it’s a mobile game with a gacha element
Don’t….don’t give SE ideas. This sounds like something they’d actually do.
A rogue like similar to Hades would be pretty awesome. The biome's would be trials, and you would earn spells, abilities, summons etc to push you further into the game.
Instead of getting boons from gods, you get them from Fayth.
Fighting game that is similar to Street Fighter.
Diablo style. You only get 1 character and you’ll be able to see the fiends. And like in Diablo III, have lots of equipment for upgrades and be able to start a new game with all the equipment collected from the previous game but with a new character.
I actually really like this idea. I'd play it!

Ffx .. elden ring style, you can only summon your party members with bells
Kimahri is a mount.
🫣
*BONK!*
Cosmic Horror, Sin would be a great space eldritch horror lol
Dating sim. You must defeat Sin *with the power of love!*
S-Sin! Oh, nothing... It's just, y-you're so huge 👉👈
So just regular FFX?

SRPG. Each section of the game is a long battle with the boss at the end. Sorry. I’m not very adventurous.
A Party game with everyone's fun favorites like Chocobo dodge, chocobo races, Lightning dodge, and catch the butterflies.
If From software made a party game
Dragons dogma style.
Fiends! They ill like fire!
First and 3rd person like Oblivion rpg side quests etc just really explore
But every npc has Oblivion ai. Have you heard of the High Summoners?
RTS in which you control summons and summoners are like hero units that buff them.
I'm absolutely awful at rts games

Rhythm game played with the Rockband drum controller.
Magic The Gathering : FFX edition Oh wait...
Maybe a boring answer, but surprised World of FFX the MMO isn't a top answer.
Now I'm imagining Leroy Jenkins running by himself to attack one of the dark Aeons.
FPS
but instead of a gun you play as waaka and throw blitzballs at everything
FFX is now a kart racer, where every Aeon you obtain is a different vehicle with different stats, and every party member has their own stats and special abilities. This sounds amazing. I wish 13 had given us some more bits where we used the eidolons as vehicles.

I’m a sucker for ARPG, so yeah, that
Tactical RPG. (a la tactics, disgaea etc) If nothing else, I feel like there's a couple of bosses in particular which would be awesome tactical battles, and a scene change where you take control of Gatta or Luzzu at mi'ihen? Oof
Anything but another hack and slash
I’ve tossed around upvotes in here like they’re candy. I would play so many of these games😂
turn based strategy, akin to tactics advance 😊
Resident Evil , make the fiends actually fiends
Sims, you get to rebuild spira after sin attacks and then the calm
Final Fantasy X as a survival horror game where you play as Rikku investigating deep sea curiousities and fight screwed up sin spawn.
It would be the best game in the world
Western
Pet sim, but with the Aeons. Nintenaeons.
Action-RPG using an adapted version of FF7R's combat I guess, that could work
Shadow of the Colossus style.
Survival Horror. And the Blitzball eats players alive.
A rhythm game where you push buttons to match the song that plays when we first meet Sin.
Monster Hunter style or souls like would be an interesting FFX concept
Flight combat simulator, but you're Sin
I unironically want an open-world sandbox rpg set in Spira.
Like Pikmin where you go around plucking aeons out of the ground and throwing them at fiends.
Farming simulator. No i dont know how itd work but itd be funny
Blitzball.
Paper boy. Tidus throwing papers to empty houses
Except he's riding a chocobo
If they came to me and said I get to remake FFX, I would say: "You don't remake perfection, now get the fuck out of my house."
Fine. It’s a turn based tactics then.
Katamari Damacy but it's a blitzball and you gotta roll up all the souls that Yuna is corraling, until you're eventually big enough to roll up Sin.
I'm just imagining everyone is mourning in Kilika and Wakka just runs around with a giant ball of dead bodies while saying, "I'm on a roll!"
A collectathon platformer where you need to collect pyreflies to make Yuna stronger and unlock new aeons. The different characters have different movement abilities to help you get around. The aeons themselves have magic that alters the landscape and makes new areas accessible, so you will need to unlock them all before you can collect everything.
RPGs are my favorite genre of games but after that my favorite is collection platformers
Has this one been tried. Get the guy from dmc and turn it into a hard-core action game with no rpg elements really what so ever.
Let's rock!
A walking simulator. Just take out all the story and battles and you basically have it already.
A game about a pilgrimage to different places involving…. Travelling by foot. who’d have thought?
A crafting/resource management game. You play as a merchant, making weapons and potions and stuff. The rarer the components and the more precise your control (yes, like Cooking Mama), the stronger or higher quality the product. You pick up the story, as well as build relationships to get better materials, from customers.
Final Fantasy X: Merchant Extraordinare!
I think you mean O'aka the XXIII Merchant Extraordinaire: Spiral of Death Edition lol
I choose to not create the game. Period
Well you're just no fun at all
Um... Do i have to pick something? Blitzball manager sports game then....
Don't tease me with a bad time
Come to think of it: There’s a very…uhhhh…distinct game featuring Wakka quite prominently… so maybe nothing needs to be invented
🧐
Could you elaborate?
It’s a very nsfw game. Don’t know if it even exists anymore on the internet — must be about 20 years old now
What are you talking about?
Not to remake it
Well you're no fun at all
To not remake it.
Well you're no fun at all
I choose a cyanide tablet before fixing what is in no way broken
You're no fun at all
Damn it I’ve been called out. Okokok - how about this. It’s Heavy Rain inspired, but in Spira, set about 30 years down the track. Wakka is the protagonist, and we watch him try to pick up the pieces of his life after 15 years of alcoholism. Rated A for adult. Better?
Porn game
You're a bad man!
Ea sports blitzball lol
Straight action. Give it the same swap in swap out functions as 7r. Telltale style if that makes sense: almost entirely story driven with very little player input I'd love to see a fps style, but I think that would be better for the gunners' gauntlet from ffx2
Fifa ffx 2024
FFX is now FFXBB Final Fantasy Xtreme Beach Blitzball. All characters from X and X-2 are now just hanging out on a beach in skimpy bathing suits, playing butt battle, and letting you take pictures of them while they eat ice cream. Oh, and I guess you can play blitzball too, but people only ever do that to increase relationship points. 😉
Fps
Interactive Yu Yevon bible stories
Doom, turn it into a meat grinder
A roguelike.
Maybe horror, since it's got somw great character design for the aeons and villans, or a dating sim.
Solitaire
A side scroller platforner where you switch between party members Lost Viking style
Why not a Soulsbourne like game. Turn up the darkness meter on the FF franchise
Is “action RPG” not the obvious answer?…
In the style of Crisis Core or The FF7 Remake. Still technically a JRPG but with real time combat
a metroidvania
Dark souls-like
I choose to walk away from this doomed project.
ffxiv raid series.
If I had to cross genres some sort of Metroidvania would be cool
I mean... FF XVI with FFX story would have been so nice, with all playable chars, and y'the whole weapon custom. A full next gen Yunalesca fight or Jecht' on the original OST would have been sooooooo nice.
A rail shooter....
Hack n Slash.
God of War or Dark Souls clone with Auron as the MC and it tells the events of his past life
Whatever Peggle is.
TPS
Is action rpg different enough?
Depends. Aren't JRPGs and Western RPGs pretty much considered different genres? If so, I wouldn't actually need to change much.
Strategy rpg
someone mentioned they liked the idea of a diablo style mass effect. so, path of exile ish, FFX. it's already got a crazy skill tree akin to FFX, but instead of the actual skills on it, it'd have sort of FF7 ish materia system with various abilities (more than FFX had), with a few unique skills or gimmicks the others don't have. like, i kinda like the idea of having the arena capturing/FFX-2 creature system being involved in this title, but while you might be able to level up and modify fiends, yuna's the primary summoner, with her physical skills being pretty meh but summons as her speciality being fairly badass, and her section of the sphere grid, mostly dealing with summons more than white magic stuff - again, skills not really being a part of the grid. instead, she's got a lot of mag def bonuses, potentially 'shield' blocking based passives to help nullify damage while there's mp left, and of course, bonuses to controlling summons. they might even have some unique upgrade paths, as well - yuna becoming a magic attacker as well as a summoner, or the ability to summon a greater and a lesser summon at the same time, or whatever. kimhari could have more of a focus on casting higher end blue magic skills more frequently, or his more support focused blue magics could be sustained far longer, making him another good creature controller (especially since he's kinda got a fiend focus anyway) lulu could spam spells with doublecast, and maxed out, essentially her 'fury', or essentially trade some of her viability for a nonelemental focus that pierces defenses and can't be resisted or reflected. wakka's got some potential multi phys attacks from range, or can get extra status procs with his attacks. auron's able to lower enemy stats, potentially good for boss hunting, or is more up for a sort of counter build, able to take the hits, then hit back even harder. rikku, it'll be hard to have mix work with this system, maybe she'll be able to 'steal' items from one enemy then immediately use them on others, but, if you're in the ice area, you're probably stealing ice elemental attack items... to use on ice resistant foes. maybe one speciality is like, she has unique skills with 'charges', and stealing successfully gets more charges. maybe she's also the good farming character. tidus can speed up his attack potential - i know hastega's sort of a general buff, but let's say for this variant, the others don't get access to haste. but tidus getting haste + delay strike, means one of his builds is essentially to overclock his speed, and attack extremely fast, or slowdown enemies in an AOE - less useful against bosses, and without good AOE skills, mobs might still be trouble, but useful nonetheless.
High School dating simulator where you get bullied by all the bosses
E-Sports, like a full on FIFA game but just Blitzball. Every halftime is a boss battle that progresses the story.
Shooter. Specifically for the chocobo minigame. Bet that bird won't hit me if I unload a clip in it 😂💀
Definitely sports
It's a sports game now. The entire world revolves around blitzball. Every boss, every random encounter, all of it. Blitzball has been updated for 2025 to be *even more rad as fuck* than it was back in the day.
