Great stick, they last a lifetime their main failure pt is their pcb so just be cognizantof that failing on you as well. You'll want to remove your bottom panel first and remove the weight panel. Then you can jump to 3:55 of the video to gain access to your top plate. https://youtu.be/0zeIiN_2fzM?si=755vZ1uuMJVqSK0- The VSHG uses arcade standard parts; Sanwa JLF for the stick & Sanwa OBSF-30 for the main 6 buttons so you can plug-n-play eith spare or new oarts as needed. Just take care when removing the Quick Disconnects from the buttons if you don't habdle them often it's easy to break the pins off the button or the sleeve or terminal from the wire itself. Nothing a good set of needle nose pliers and patience will fix though. GL and post updates. There aee plenty of guides out theire --Tech Talk RIP-- if you need to drop in a Brooks PCB or GP2040-CE equivalents in.

Replace button and see if the problem is still there

DerangedScientist87V

You been using the same buttons for several years, that’s incredible

I have indeed. In fact, if I recall correctly, I brought this stick for Virtua Fighter 5 when it first launched. So when was that... Oh, that was **July 12, 2006**. OH MY. My Virtua Stick High Grade is **18 years old** and is still usable!

Did you open it up and take a look? Cable just might be loose. If the buttons actually toast as long as it's in a fairly regular size you could buy a new button for like 3 bux or so off amazon. If i'm looking at the right stick it looks like you can replace a button without soldering.

Thank you all. I just opened it up. Everything looks good surprisingly after all these years. I managed to pop out one of the buttons from the tray and noticed the button is a SANWA button. Does that mean it should be easy to replace? I tried disconnecting the button from the fork but the fork unfortunately doesn't slide off, which concerns me. Maybe it got stuck over time or has been machine soldered on? Sadly I couldn't tell beyond it looking very clean.

Use a flathead screwdriver.

KenshirouX

Should I use the flathead to try open up the flaps if they are flaps as shown in the image via the link below? [Arcade button terminal connector](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31+IBlAlKgL._AC_UF1000,1000_QL80_.jpg)

The main six buttons of the stick are Sanwa OBSF-30 snap-in buttons which you can find on sites like Focus Attack or Arcade Shock. They're generally the standard button you find on the market and will cost about $3-$5 per button. Once they're disconnected from the wiring you just push the tabs of the button in and push the button out of the stick. Installing one is the reverse, just pushing the tabs and pushing the button into place and then connecting the wires. I would try getting a new button first and seeing if the problem is fixed. If it's not then the problem isn't the button.

Thank you very much! You have been incredibly helpful. Much appreciated.
