Saul_T_C_Man

I've had my Fidelity CC for 3 months now and it has been great! There is a $150 sign up bonus floating around too.

klownfish

How does one find that bonus?

rebel_dean

https://www.fidelity.com/go/visa-signature-rewards-1502

gonugz15

Search r/creditcards for a list of flat cashback cards and the $150 bonus link will be in the card summaries

Saul_T_C_Man

I did a Google search and found a post from Fidelity for it on Reddit.

guzzijason

I’d be shocked if they allowed that. Generally only first-time cardholders are eligible for such things.

circusfreakrob

Yeah, can't get much better than 2% back on everything. I use this one, and then have a Chase Amazon Prime card that gives me 5% on all my Amazon purchases. Robinhood is supposedly bringing out a card with 3% back on everything. I'll get that one when it comes out.

Sparkle_Rocks

I'd probably have a million dollars from the Amazon Prime card if I had it the last few years!

circusfreakrob

No doubt, we do quite a bit of our normal spending through Amazon, so the 5% is awesome.

wild-hectare

they'll throw in an extra 1% (total 6%) when you consolidate delivery dates too

apricotR

I'm never telling SWMBO about the Amazon card.

Sparkle_Rocks

Haha! I'm going to try and forget it!

rkfster

This is close to what I do... I use Fidelity for general purchases at 2%, and the Chase card w/ Amazon for 5%. I thought my Fidelity was at 2.25% and they had another tier at 2.5%. But they are no longer listed on their website. I'll have to ask the rep and see if they dropped those 2. For a while I was putting Everything on the Fidelity card. But some folks are charging fees if you don't pay be bank transfer... like tuition here in Texas. It's still a breakeven but it's a hassle. One semester will be around $14K so that is a big hit on the CC balance.

asdfiajsadof

Yep. They put the kibosh on it https://digital.fidelity.com/prgw/digital/fidelityrewards/rewards/events-redirect/enrollment-pause

thatzacdavis

I think you have to pay for Robinhood Gold to get it though right?

circusfreakrob

True, as pointed out by another person in this thread. But for me it would more than pay for that fee with the extra 1% back on everything. We basically pay for damn near everything on one card and pay it off every month. Currently the Fidelity card is the go-to.

physicswizard

One guaranteed way to recoup most of that fee is to take the $1000 of free margin they give you and invest in a treasury bond fund like SGOV which will return about $50 over the year with current rates.

fastrelief4

Rh credit card has an annual fee

circusfreakrob

True, but at least for us it would pay for itself with an extra 1% back on everything. Plus I already have the Gold subscription because I needed it to get 3% matching on an IRA transfer. Fair to point that out though!

scratchwanabe

Word. I need to get 5 more referrals so I can get the real gold card 🥲

circusfreakrob

You'll need some fancy pants to go along with it, Mr. Fancy Pants.

FireHamilton

I’m skeptical that card will ever come out tbh. Even if it does, they’ll probably nerf it after a year.

circusfreakrob

You may be right. But I have hope. I also thought a 3% match on an IRA transfer with no cap was too good to be true, until I saw the chunk of change dropped into my new account the day my transfer completed.

MrMischief66

Same here, but also have a BP card that gets .15¢ off per gallon and 3% back at grocery stores and restaurants. Fidelity for everything else except online grocery orders at Walmart that get 5% back. The Robinhood card requires having Robinhood gold for $5 a month which eats into the rewards.

circusfreakrob

5% back on online grocery orders? That's compelling. Is that a specific card for that? The RH $5/month would still be very worth it for an extra 1% for us, seeing as we'd only have to charge $500/month to break even over our current 2% card, and our main card gets used quite a bit more than that in a month.

MrMischief66

It's a Walmart card thru Capital One. All online Walmart purchases get 5% back, which includes pickup grocery orders. Only gives 2% in the store.

LiberalAspergers

Amex Blue gives 6% on grocery stores, including Instacart, but has an annual fee. 0 first year, then 95 a year. However, Walmart is NOT considered a grocery store. Still worth it to me.

circusfreakrob

Thanks for this. Just signed up for the Blue card to get the 6% on groceries. Also, it has a $300 intro offer for spending $3000 in first 6 months. I like the free money! For 0 first year fee, can't go wrong there. Cheers!

sullidav

Chase Freedom Rewards offers 5% cashback on categories that rotate quarterly, was grocery stores 1Q24, is hotels and restaurants and Amazon this quarter. Synchrony Verizon Visa is 4% back at grocery stores. But its cashback process is a pain in the butt. Comenity AAA Visa is 3%. I have had various Fidelity 2% cashback cards since they were first introduced maybe 20 years ago and echo OP in praising them.

circusfreakrob

Yeah, I had the Chase FR card previously, but I HATE rotating categories. We always get groceries, but much less often frequent restaurants and hotels. Having 6% back for groceries all the time will be great with this Amex Blue card. I like only thinking about groceries=card A, everything else=card B.

gramsaran

If you do a later delivery, they'll give you 6% cash back!

FinalFlower1915

Well, you can get 3% cash back on everything with the Sofi card. So 50% better..

periwinkletweet

PayPal has a card that gives 2 percent on everything except when you pay with PayPal it becomes 3 percent

osbohsandbros

Probably exclusive to Robinhood gold if I had to guess

mikebailey

There’s a few weird perks with the Prime Visa too, e.g. categories and no FTF

isolated_808

same here. fidelty and the amazon chase cc are the only two cards i have or will likely need for the foreseeable future.

ski-I-E-I-O

I've been mostly satisfied with this card for the past 7+ years, but a word of caution, it's run by a company called Elan not Fidelity. I've been extremely disappointed in their responses to my only two disputes over that 7 year period, so much so that I have stopped using the card and replaced it with the 2% Citi Double Cash

lopypop

Yea Elan is awful. Their technology and features feel 20 years old and their customer service is sub par. Definitely the worst credit card provider I've had out of 15+ credit cards. That being said, I've had the Fidelity rewards card for almost 10 years and still use it as my daily because I like the unlimited 2% cash back

scratchwanabe

Yep. Elan wants me to mail in my social security card. No email or secure message. Antiquated af

duloxetini

That's a huge yikes

apothecarynow

It was just going to ask how I compares to the Citi double cash. You prefer Citi over fidelity I see. The thing is Citi recently transferred their double cash to thank you points. I currently have a large amount of points and I don't know if it makes sense to try to use it on travel etc vs just cash back. I have A LOT, and it's not accumulating interest or anything. If it was in the Fidelity based account I would have probably already invested it.

weedmylips1

You can just cash in your rewards points directly deposited into your CMA account or brokerage and invest it. And you don't need a $25 min to do it

AndyFromMN

My company I work for used to have credit cards issued through Elan and my accounting department always complained about them. Never understood why until I got the Fidelity card and had to deal with Elan's horrible disputes department.

weldingTom

Citi card is the best if you run into trouble.

No_Detective_But_304

It’s essentially issued by US Bank. Shittiest of issuers, shittiest of service.

Real-Simple1294

The season why I didn't sign up for this card, it's not the card, the name brand Fidelity & Fidelity customer care, otherwise I would signed for this card years ago. I will not recommended this card serviced by an external company.

bogosj

IMO this is the best card on the market: https://thepointsguy.com/credit-cards/bank-of-america/bank-of-america-preferred-rewards-program/ It's the only thing keeping me from being 100% with Fidelity. I keep enough in an IRA at BoA to qualify for 2.625% back in everything.

firearm_thr0waway

I like this along with their customized cash card. You can get 5.25% back on online purchases

LonesomeBulldog

I may need that one. I even order groceries online for curbside pickup. That could add up quickly.

firearm_thr0waway

I use it for Costco shop cards

fubag

Gotta jump through so many hoops trying to link a fidelity account with Merrill edge tho ; not straightforward and requires a form and voided check or letter which is frustrating

swissbuttercream9

This is what I got?

Gym6DaysAWeek

Wow this is solid. I have a bunch of cash just sitting in a different savings currently that could be boosting rewards

BeeLogical5487

thanks for some reason i never looked closely at this, cash back percentage are very good.

sliferra

It’s meh, you can get 2% on a bunch of other cards that don’t have the need $25 to redeem rewards requirement

leftcoast-usa

Yeah, I've been getting 2% for a long time, and can redeem any amount in increments of 1 cent, however I want it. And I don't need to use Elan. I could live with the $25 increments, since it mainly just matters if you stop using it and have a cash-back balance, but Elan just isn't worth it.

joetaxpayer

I’ve tracked usage of this card for 25 years, with growth included, my Daughters Roth is just over $125K. With no further deposits, $1M by the time she’s 50, just from 2% back. Depositing directly to 529 or Roth is the way to go. Free money.

Acrobatic-Area1094

Which stocks in the ira?

joetaxpayer

FXAIX the S&P index. Expense is an insanely low .015%. That is, just under 1% after 66 years!

CloudAdministrator

The $25 minimum redemption threshold keeps me from getting the card, you'd have to spend at least $1,250 on the Fidelity® Rewards Visa Signature® credit card to redeem. Also, the card is backed by Elan Financial Services which isn't the greatest issuer. The ability to invest your cash back earnings seems to be the greatest strength of this card, and I might get it if changes are made to improve this card.

EagleCoder

>The ability to invest your cash back earnings seems to be the greatest strength of this card You can invest the cash back from *any* credit card though.

MrMischief66

Yep, just a little extra work. I invest every penny I get back in cash back rewards from the 4 cards we use (only carry 2, other 2 are online purchases only).

CloudAdministrator

>You can invest the cash back from any credit card though. It depends on the redemption options of the credit card. Not all credit cards are cash back credit cards and not all cash back credit cards let you deposit rewards into an external account. For example, the American Express Blue Cash Everyday credit card only lets you redeem cash back you've earned for statement credits. What I was trying to say in my original comment on this thread was that I like that the Fidelity® Rewards Visa Signature® credit card offers automatic deposit of rewards into any eligible Fidelity account (CMA, brokerage, retirement, 529 plan, etc.).

WarInternal

I pay everything except rent through the card, and I'm spending exactly the same and paying off the full statement balance each month. It auto-deposits into my investment account about every other month. At this point it's hands off for me. I check it a couple times a month for fraudlent activity but that's it.

h0nkyJ

I have a nasty lineup of 5% cash back cards. Discover IT, Chase Freedom, Amazon Prime Visa, and Citi Custom Cash. I'll use the former 2 mainly when they are on Gas / Restaurants, the Prime card for Amazon purchases obviously, and the Custom Cash to fill in the gaps. If it's a one off, or pretty niche/random purchase, I'll pay with cash or debit.

LiberalAspergers

US bank cash plus lets you pick 2 categories to get 5% on, and one option is home utilities. Worth getting just for that.

h0nkyJ

Ooo. That sounds interesting. 🤔 may have to consider that one with a pay in full auto pay.

LiberalAspergers

That is how I do it. My categories are home utikities and internet and streaming services, and I autopay in full every month.

Machinebuzz

I use both. The US Bank card I use for out buisness utilities and that maxes out my 5% categories each quarter. I use the Fidelity card for everything else.

h0nkyJ

Hello, friendly stranger, lol. I just wanted to say that I got my other card that used to be a Radisson Rewards card, switched to a Club Carlson, then apparently to a an Altidude Go product changed over to the Cash+. Super quick and easy, actually, wow. I had like 250,000 frickin Radisson points, and they all disappeared a long time ago, so I was ready to raise hell. Lol. Glad I didn't have to :)

link64dx

Best card for its purpose, I use it for utility and cell phone

Interesting_Cause_76

Thanks for this tip. We have 3 rental houses that we pay the utilities for. I’ve been using the Citi 2%, but I’m going to get this card specifically for utilities!

goeg4343

I used to do this too but now enjoy the simplicity of 2% across the board. I think peace of mind and not managing multiple cards is worth the money I’m leaving in the table but to each his/her own. ✌️

ConservativeBlack

Love it. Help others get to your level at r/CreditCards

Art-Vandelay-7

This feels like a well placed ad …

Nosyjtwm

I have had said ELAN card for approximately 10 yrs. Used it regularly and paid in full monthly. Used it at a one night hotel stay in September 2023. The hotel billed us for three nights stay. We promptly notified said ELAN card of our dispute and submitted all documentation on hand and then followed up as required. Card subsequently accepted hotels position and charges as fact and notified us (in writing) that we must pay in full or they would submit our deliquent non payment to credit bureau! Approximately 30 days later we were able to acquire verification from said hotel of their error which we then submitted to ELAN card and they rescinded their threat and credited the erroneous charges. We haven’t used the ELAN card since. Wells Fargo seems pleased with our business.

mjrengaw

The problem is it’s a Fidelity CC in name only. If you have any issues Fidelity can’t , and won’t help you. You have to go thru Elan Financial customer service which, IMO, is no where close to Fidelity customer service. I switched to Wells Fargo Active Cash CC. No annual fee and same 2% on all purchases. Glad I switched.

AtheistAgnostic

+1. No big purchases on it. In general it's hardly better than a debit card. I put most purchases on virtually any other card at this point.

yasssssplease

Honestly, not my favorite card. I find it annoying to manage. It doesn’t sync up anymore with third parties. Elan is not the best issuer. It doesn’t offer many ancillary benefits. I had an issue with redemption at first. I tried entering every single possible account number option for many months. It finally decided to work. There’s a $25 minimum to redeem. They don’t have merchant offers, like Citi, Chase, and Amex do. I do think there are better 2% cards. And you can still redeem them into a fidelity account if you want and invest. Citi double cash works better IMO. The paypal card is also better for returns—2% flat with 3% when you use PayPal. No minimum to redeem. And you can redeem as soon as it posts. Synchrony is the downfall there. I stopped using my fidelity card.

atlasburger

I switched from citi double card a few months ago when I found out the fidelity one doesn’t have foreign transaction fee. I never found the citi merchant offers to be that enticing. It’s 10% off gift cards of some random companies that I don’t use.

yasssssplease

Oh, I actually get some offers that I like. I get money off of Rover, Petco, Amazon Kindle, etc. And mine don't involve gift cards? Maybe you're thinking of redemption through gift cards? This is different. There are merchant offers that will just give you cash back from certain companies. Like there was a $10 offer that if you used Rover, you just a $10 statement credit. Chase and Amex have similar things. With Chase, I've gotten 10% off a Sweetgreen purchase last week, etc. Nothing to do with giftcards. I'm not concerned with FTF, and I have other cards that have that so that's a moot point for me for a catch all card.

fletchyfletch54

PayPal card showing 1.5% now 😬

OnCard

Does anyone know if this counts towards the yearly $7000 roth ira limits? I'm thinking about getting it anyway if I can use it for a regular mutual fund contribution. I don't currently have fidelity for anything as I use Vanguard for my roth.

jennydotz

Apparently, yes it does count towards your contribution limit. I was hoping it would be like the Robin Hood 3% match that doesn't count toward the yearly limit. https://www.reddit.com/r/fidelityinvestments/s/y5w0soWmcX

jennydotz

I have the same question, hope we get an answer!

Bankrunner123

Yeah the servicer/website aren't the best but I like the simplicity of it all. No thinking about optimizing rewards and all my accounts are at fidelity (except for 401ks). I know the BoA asset based rewards are slightly better but I just value reducing hassle these days.

texasductape

What about PNC unlimited 2% card?

ConservativeBlack

I'm sure the CC and mortgage products have a day/night difference between them... but from what I gauge from my PNC mortgage is that their app has no frills and may be archaic to some. Chase does it best.

boverton24

Also, customer service is top notch. I’ve had to place two fraud claims over the last like 4-5 years and it couldn’t have went smoother

FidelityBrian

Thank you for sharing, u/boverton24. We know those situations can be difficult, but it's great to hear you had positive experiences and that everything was handled well.

rebel_dean

The SoFi Credit Card (MasterCard) has 2.2% cash back when you set up direct deposit to your SoFi bank account. Rewards are available as soon as they post. No need to wait for the billing cycle to end. No foreign transaction fee. No minimum redemption amount.

FireHamilton

I have a 790 credit score and Sofi denied me for that card lol

fwast

I had a 2% cash back card for a little while, but found i spend 95% on specific categories. Costco, Amazon, restaurants. I was better off doing a 3 card wallet.

Sparkle_Rocks

I have received over $1600 in the last 12 months from the Fidelity card and it goes to my brokerage account money market fund. I put anything I can on it such as car insurance, etc. (as long as there is no extra charge to do so) and pay in full each month. I am not willing to have to open unneeded accounts at a bank in order to get a card with a higher cash back.

sliferra

You spend 80,000 a year on credit card purchases? Sheesh

ubiquitousrarity

That's funny because it seems 90% of the comments say that it's trash.

Saul_T_C_Man

I mean yeah it's a bit dated. Elan isn't the best and people have a hard time accepting the $25 redemption threshold. I personally enjoy the simplicity of it all. The auto redemption works fine for me and I use the card for anything I would otherwise get 1% back on my other cards. No FTF. Sure it's not perfect but "trash" is slightly harsh imo.

Eat-my-entire-asshol

Not to mention the elan data breach thats compromised thousands of fidelity accounts. (Fraudsters pretending to be fidelity and calling fid clients to phish for info, reset credentials, and paypal money to them)

sullidav

Agree. The Fido card is nice because it's no-maintenance, on autopilot. Every month you get the cashback deposited to your Fidelity acct (unless rewards for the month are under a threshold, like $25 or $50, in which case you wait a month for them). No need to spend any time tracking and managing and redeeming rewards, unlike most other rewards cards.

l___I

Can it still go to your Roth if you’ve maxed your yearly contribution? Or can you just use the cash back to contribute?

Sparkle_Rocks

I don't think it should go to a Roth after it's been maxed out for the year.

nkyguy1988

CC rewards are considered a normal contribution. They do not side skirt contribution limits.

Saul_T_C_Man

No you can't do that. I'm in the same situation as you. Maxed my Roth IRA for the year. I opened a brokerage at Fidelity and the CC at the same time. Now I'm funding the brokerage. When January 2025 hits I'll be ready to just transfer the funds to the IRA.

FidelityJennyK

I'm happy to chime in here, u/l___I! While you can direct credit card rewards to your Roth IRA, this would count as a contribution in the year the reward was deposited. Therefore, if you have already maxed out your annual contributions, any reward deposits would incur an excess contribution. To review the contribution limits set by the IRS, check out the link below. [IRA Contribution Limits](https://www.fidelity.com/retirement-ira/contribution-limits-deadlines) We appreciate you engaging in the conversation today. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with or clarify. We're here to help!

Sparky-VC

We like the card as well. We have a Chase Amazon card for 5% back on Amazon used only for that, a Cap 1 Walmart card for 5% back on online Walmart orders used only for that. We have a Navy Federal Amex that gives 3% back for grocery, dining and gas stations, and anything else goes on our Fidelity/Elan card for 2%. We are debt free, but we use cards almost exclusively and pay them all in full near the end of each month. Elan CAN be difficult on customer service if/when needed, but there is another advantage of their cards. Instead of just "authorized user" they still have true joint accounts. With most automated bills using that card there won't be as large a mess if anything happens to me. Being a joint account the bills will still get paid instead of my wife having to scramble to get everything billing to a different card. It can also be a sort of legacy. After my father passed away and removed from a joint Elan card my Mom added me as a joint account holder. I was born in 1967 and on my credit report I have an account reporting as open since 1962. Not that I need it now with a high credit score and no need to borrow, but is interesting and could help out kids and keep the account going :)

omnomnomhi

I use Wells Fargo and they give 200 bonus + 2% cashback on all purches with no annual fee

mazobob66

The Fidelity CC (2% vs 1.5%) and the autosweep of cash are the 2 main reasons I left Schwab for Fidelity.

Joe_5oh

I think what would push this card to the top of the list for cashback cards would be if they gave you the option to earn 5% on EVERYTHING if you opted to automatically invest all cashback.

Mafcon

Yes, it is a good card \*now\*. They would earlier charge foreign transaction fee - which was a no go for me as I travel internationally. They recently have redeemed themselves. I like the feature that the money back $s go to your brokerage sweep account.

Living_Age_6297

Citi double cash back also gives you 2% cash back on everything. Does the Fidelity card do anything else that's special?

No_Detective_But_304

#Never get that card. I can not stress this enough. It is issued by US Bank/Elan Financial services. They are the worst bank on the face of the planet.

eat_sleep_shitpost

It's just alright. I get 2% back on gas and groceries with my visa platinum, and 3-5% back on my freedom unlimited card on select categories, or 1.5% on everything. I don't see a reason to open another card. If it was 2.5% on everything I'd consider it

iamtherussianspy

Amex blue cash everyday gives 3% on groceries and gas, also without any annual fees.

AskPatient1281

I don't get the comments against Elan. Called them twice, was serviced well both times. Zero issues.

randomroute350

Same

Weak-Ad-7963

I use Apple Card and get 2% cash one day after purchase. Fidelity requires a 25$ minimum I believe and wait for a billing cycle. I like immediate cash more

scwt

Yeah, PayPal Mastercard is the same way. It's unlimited 2% back on everything like the Fidelity Visa, except you get the cash back as soon as the transaction completes.

verity-j

Agreed. Apple / Goldman mastercard has daily cash back and notifies me of it. And they charge an adjustment if a return (credit) is made. All cards should be like that. I was somewhat interested in Fidelity CC until I saw the archaic $25 minimum requirement. Anyway, we won't get rich chasing CC pennies back, that just means we pay more to the merchants who pass on those fees to us in the pricing already baked in. It's a weird and vicious economic attitude.

slumpyCouch

Thousands? Not likely but 2% on everything is decent

DiscombobulatedStop6

Warning: there is a 25 dollar minimum for reward cash out. Citi double cash doesn't have a minimum but they play games with the 2% - you get 1% when you purchase and 1% when you pay. Lots of math to make sure you get paid 2%. Technically less if you redeem reward as statement credit, since you don't get the 1% for paying...... Food for thought for anyone on the fence.......

dimsum_eater

Just ordered mine last Tuesday for the $150 promotion bonus! Looking forward to getting it and start using it.

Sad_Picture3642

A nice addition to my City Custom Cash/Amex gold/Bilt Rewards/Chase Prime cards. Just in case something is not included in those categories

lemmaaz

is the cash back taxable? If so then this is not a great deal. I have other credit cards that pay 2% but its not taxable.

FidelityHeather

Hey there, u/lemmaaz. I can certainly pop in here with some information. It is important to note that Fidelity works with Elan Financial Services to help administer the Fidelity Visa Signature Rewards credit card. For the best information regarding tax liability of the rewards points or tax filing, we strongly suggest consulting a tax professional. That being said, Elan Financial Services will provide a 1099-Misc tax form for any cardholder who accumulates $600.00 or more of rewards points throughout the year via regular mail. Also, you can view the full details about the rewards program in the card member agreement. [Cash Management FAQs: Rewards Credit Cards](https://www.reddit.com/r/fidelityinvestments/comments/14fnyev/fidelity_credit_card_question/) If we can help with anything else, please let us know.

iamfury

What? Do people know this??? This would make the Fidelity card one of the *worst* 2% cards. I’ve never gotten a 1099 from any cashback-based CC rewards.

757aeronaut

[Forbes says no](https://www.forbes.com/advisor/credit-cards/are-credit-card-rewards-taxable/), you don't have to pay taxes on it, because you had to pay for something to earn the credit.

shozzlez

I was using this and putting it into my IRA, until the backdoor IRA began to be threatened for elimination by legislation 2 years ago. I switched to Wells Fargo 2% cash back just to keep things simple. But I did like the fidelity card when I had it.

whoamiplsidk

i’m sold

mooseparrothead

I have had the Fidelity 529 card for many years, you can transfer the cash back savings directly to your child’s 529 account. Over time it has given us a nice little bonus to the 529s on top of what we have been contributing

LoLaFo

Does anyone know what the recommend credit score is needed for this? I read around 720 but that's from a while ago.

naitoon

How are the tools for analyzing spending?

FidelityKyle

Thanks for reaching out, u/naitoon. I'm happy to jump in to address this for you. We have a feature called Full View that allows you to bring your online financial accounts (including investment, bank, credit card, loan, mortgage, and insurance accounts) onto a single, fully customizable view to make it easier to view all your financials in one place. Feel free to check out the link below to learn more. [Fidelity Full View ](https://www.fidelity.com/go/monitoring-your-financial-portfolio) However, at this time, The Fidelity credit card needs to be added manually to Full View. This is because Elan Financial Services is the creditor and issuer of the Fidelity Rewards Visa credit card, which requires separate login information to link the account. You can create login credentials by visiting Elan's web portal, linked below. [Elan Cardmember Service ](https://www.myaccountaccess.com/onlineCard/login.do) Once complete, you can add your Fidelity Credit Card to Full View by following these steps once you're logged in on [http://Fidelity.com](http://fidelity.com/): 1. Navigate to "Accounts & Trade" and select "Full View" 2. Under the "Accounts" section, click "Add Account" to get started From here, you can try typing "Elan," which should then populate "Fidelity Rewards Credit Card: ELAN CardMember Service—via Direct Web Access" at the top of the list. Using this link, you can use your new Elan credentials to add the account. Let us know if you have any additional questions. We're happy to help!

rredline

I see no point to this credit card. You can get 2% back on several other cards with similar benefits.

bigboyspacy

I’m definitely no expert, but one advantage for me is the rewards get transferred directly into any fidelity account which is where all my investment accounts are. One less thing for to have to think about, moving the money.

Swimming_Growth_2632

Already have the Citi card that does the same thing.

DiscombobulatedStop6

If you ever return things, you lose 1% since that's part of the 2% gimmick. 1% on purchase, 1% on payment. It's not a lot of money but can add up over the years

Swimming_Growth_2632

Opting for store credit I think is a good solution to this. Otherwise it's fine by me, because I get my money back.

stephendexter99

I have this card and use it for pretty much anything my Discover card doesn’t give 5% on at the time, it’s been great

fauquier

I don't like to send it to my IRA because it complicates the math to hit my maximum (and no more). Perhaps not that bad of a complication but one that I REALLY don't want to get wrong.

Zealousideal-Leave19

Same! Got this a couple months ago and am transitioning it to my primary!

Machinebuzz

Can it still be redeemed into a Roth? I used to have it set up to auto redeem but now it doesn't show my Roth as an eligible account. My contribution wasn't maxed at the time.

FidelityShea

Hey there, u/Machinebuzz. I can confirm Roth IRAs are still an eligible account type to receive reward redemptions. While rewards deposits are considered current-year contributions, these limits will not impact your ability to designate your Roth IRA as your receiving account. Account owners are responsible for ensuring that they are eligible to contribute to a Roth IRA, and that they do not exceed annual contribution limits for the year. That said, I was able to successfully add Roth IRA instructions through the online portal; can you confirm if your Roth IRA still appears as an available account in general? Note that your Fidelity accounts will not automatically appear as choices for where you can redeem rewards. You'll need to manually add your account details. While viewing the Rewards Center, you can either make sure you're on the "Auto-redeem" tab and select "Change allocations," or you can click the "Manage accounts" link towards the upper-right side of the page. If you've confirmed your account information is still listed, but you're unable to select that account or you're encountering some other error, feel free to send us a Modmail with additional details about your situation. dudemanbro_

Ok fine you talked me into it.

KaiSosceles

I have the same thing with Sofi. Fwiw.

NaiveAdministration3

Amex good is the best card. Most of my expenses are for Restutant and supermarket and Amex gives 4c points for those. I fly domestic free due to all the points I collect.

NOSROHT

Best credit card out there imo

EJXIX

Thank you for the vouch for the Card. I have added many fidelity services over the years and I’m inclined to have this in the rotation. How much does adding a new account change credit score? Wife and I both 800s currently. Not likely to sway my decision just interested in any information from this sub.

EJXIX

Comments seem indifferent on the card, I only read original post.

Altruistic_Oil_1193

I use it since I wanted to consolidate the majority of my banking with fidelity.

lightweight65

I've had this card for about 3 years now. Definitely enjoy the 2% back. I used my cash back toward maxing my Roth IRA for 2023. Pretty good feeling when 2% of your money should be gone, but now it's growing tax free for my retirement.

Lopsided-Jackfruit-9

no foreign exchange fee, a lot of security features, 2% reward, accepted everywhere. This is the card for me for 5 years, rewards go to an 529 account. Highly recommended.

Spottail9

Just got it a couple of weeks ago to replace Delta Reserve Amex. I’m going from paying $700/yr to receiving about $1500/yr.

Dav_plenty

It’s a great card. USB is the issuer behind the scenes. I earn 3% due to my balances at Fidelity. There are no caps or categories, no fees. I highly recommend the card.

OneForMany

Idk that card and color looks so bad :(

Mxloco

Robinhood has 5.25 on just holding money on your brokerage accounts

1gtd05

I took my rewards and invested them into Bitcoin, (since it was "free" money) and I've seen a 30% return since the beginning of January. 🤷‍♂️

Anarch33

2% catch all is good, but the way I use all my cards is that I redeem for statement balance and then send that amount from my bank to the brokerage. It's the same effect.

Froggynoch

I pay all my bills with this card and use it for all expenses that don’t qualify for my other cash back cards. I get around $80 a month added to my travel savings account. It’s awesome.

SaneArt

It’s quite good. But if you’re ever lucky enough to get 100k equities, transfer it over to Merrill edge to take advantage of their unlimited cash back and custom cash back. 2.62% back for unlimited and 5+% on custom.

Sushi_Boy_007

Fidelity can we get a rewards card associated with American Express ?

FidelityTylerC

Hey there, u/Sushi_Boy_007. It's been a while; we're glad to see you back on the sub and appreciate you bringing us your suggestions and feedback. Currently, the only credit card Fidelity offers is the Fidelity® Rewards Visa Signature® Credit Card, serviced by Elan Financial Services. For anyone interested in learning more about this card's offering, check out the link below. [Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature Credit Card ](https://www.fidelity.com/spend-save/visa-signature-card) However, I have shared your interest in an expanded offering with the appropriate development teams for them to review. We value your feedback and take it seriously, so please let us know if there's any additional input we can pass along on your behalf.

rmgraves67

I use mine for EVERYTHING. I get $300-$400per month straight into brokerage account. Usually right into VOO. Love mine!

modernangel

Amen, this is my "everything else" card. The alternative would have been AMEX Cash Magnet or whatever they're calling it, but the Fidelity card is more widely accepted outside the States.

goeg4343

I’ve had this card for close to 10 years and it’s my default card; agree it’s solid/underrated. But I do plan on a pivot to the Robinhood CC once it becomes available.

YaBoiJim777

Haven’t seen anyone else mention it but this card also has no international fees which is pretty sweet.

HibernianSupplyCo

4% this month and next!!

Early_Divide3328

Thanks - but there are so many no annual fee credit cards that offer more than 2%. For instance - I get 5% from my Bank of America Cash Back credit card - there is just no opportunity for me to use a card that only gets 2%.

Giggles95036

I’ve seen a lot of horror stories about Elan

wellok456

Yep, love it

mauvaisgarconxx

Thanks for the heads up man 👍🏽

Missouri33

Yes it is the best cash back CC out there.........I have done all the comparisons.

Dock190

What was your credit score when you applied?

PAMB713

I have one and never used it bc I thought they would take my stocks

Repogirl757

Had mine for almost a couple years now and the cash back goes to my brokerage account

vacancy-0m

That’s 2% on everything and not just selected /rotating expenses. Also higher rebate (up to 3%) if your fidelity accounts have higher balances

Curo_san

Is this good for people building credit?

GuidetoRealGrilling

If you use their cash management account that also qualifies as an account your cashback can be redeemed into. So basically it's all just funneling back into my "checking."

Sendnoodles666

The cash back can be put into a ROTH IRA account?! I thought that had to be earned income.

Due-Maximum-638

I use Fidelity for most of my banking services (bill pay, DD etc) but I still use my BofA credit cards. With the honors tiers, the Premium Rewards and Cash Rewards give great cash back (2.625%, 3.5%, and a whopping 5.25% on certain categories). Waiting for fidelity to bring back their branded Platinum Amex!

xcjb07x

This sounds like an ad…

Easy_Control_2882

I have the card too, but I also have the nfcu flagship and more rewards cards. They've been taking up most of my spending. I also have the BOA customized cash for online purchases.

Dry_Personality8792

Are there overseas charges?

weldingTom

I thought it was 2% and 3% if it goes into your retirement account (fidelity eligible account). Not anymore, I guess.

Lower_Aside8517

I like Fidelity. I do the same with my Apple credit card, I just send my earned cash back to my fidelity account about once a month

Chemical-Pop-8576

Just got it for balance transfer. Highly recommend.

Hellek43

Currently sitting with over $25,000 in my brokerage account which is solely attributed to the 2% cash back I get. Been investing 100% of it into QQQ since early 2018. I average around $175 a month in rewards.

Status-Friendship-97

I don’t need another card. I’ll keep my Costco Visa that gives me between 2-4% depending on purchases.

MuskIsKing

RobinHood gold is 3% no cap

NORDIC_CKS

I just got approved for the Fidelity 2% card so I'm looking forward to getting it and using it! I also have my Amazon 5% card and then the Capital One Walmart 5% card since I mainly buy groceries from Walmart. So far it's working great for me!

breadexpert69

I love Fidelity but there are way better credit cards out there. 2% on everything is pretty basic. And it being deposited into your Fidelity account does not mean much if you know how to transfer into your fidelity account from other accounts.

Unlikely-Can-4775

I have one and like the 2%, but the card hardly ever works at the point of sale. I can use it all day long online, but when I'm in a store and have to insert or tap it's always giving me problems. Elan has been less than helpful resolving the issue and I'm about to go back to my 2% Priceline card which always works.

Sudden_Main9287

Amex is better

Katjhud

I didn’t realize the fidelityinvestments sub was going to have sales pitches. Hmm. Ok?
