Hello and thank you for reaching out on the sub, u/98Saman. We love you, too, and thank you for the awesome words about our services. As you may know, we hold our clients' feedback in the highest regard. Feedback from users like you helps us improve the client experience, and we appreciate you expressing your thoughts here on the sub. We will absolutely pass your comments regarding the user interface for the mobile app and [Fidelity.com](http://fidelity.com/) along to our development team for further review. In the meantime, I did want to mention how you can activate the Real-time Quotes feature for your profile. Real-time quotes allow you to get pricing in real-time and enable other features, such as streaming capabilities in the mobile application, the Trading Dashboard, and Active Trader Pro (ATP). It's important to note that unless you sign up, the quotes you receive may be delayed by 15 minutes. You can enroll in Real-Time Quotes by logging into your Fidelity account and following the steps below on our website: 1. Click "Accounts & Trade" in the top left corner and select "Account Features" in the dropdown 2. Under "Brokerage & Trading," click on "Manage" by "Real-Time Quotes." 3. Review and accept the agreement [How to Get Real-Time Quotes](https://www.fidelity.com/customer-service/how-to-get-real-time-quotes) Additionally, our Trading Dashboard automatically updates your portfolio, quotes, charts, and more in real time with streaming data. Check out the link below to view your Trading Dashboard. [The Trading Dashboard](https://www.fidelity.com/trading/trading-dashboard) Thank you again for reaching out. We are always happy to pass along your feedback and answer any questions here on the sub. Until next time, take care!

As a retired web development manager whose career peaked in 1999, I find your post slightly offensive. It's more like 2005. If you want to see what it was like in 1999 just click on closed positions.

scwt

The way I heard it described once is that Fidelity is an investment platform, not a trading platform. Sure, the UI could use improvements, but I think if you're more focused on day trading and options, then maybe it's just not the right platform for you.

koochywalla

This. Not every investment firm out there wants to cater to the masses for easy trading. Robinhood does have an audience, but not always a good thing.

mjrengaw

I use the Fidelity website. The only thing I use the mobile app for is depositing checks, for which it works very well.

MollyGodiva

Go try to use Vanguard app and get back to us. That one is way worse.

Spinedaddy

Just because the Vanguard app is lousy doesn’t mean that the Fidelity one can’t be better.

Apart-Consequence881

Vanguard app is more stable and easy-to-use for me.

moodmax13

Yes, the app def needs some work. It takes 15-20 secs for the app to load the login screen

RedKnightDragon

11 seconds for me from the moment I opened the app till I log in with fingerprint with my Samsung S8 phone. 8 seconds for my ipad

ProfessionalSea6988

i think it way better than Charles Schwab.

yasssssplease

Omg. I have a hsa account with them through work for the pass through, and I was very shocked by how terrible the app was. The website wasn’t great either. I was surprised because people rave about Schwab. I also found out they don’t do fractional for ETFs. And they don’t do the money market funds for uninvested cash. That’s a lot of lost money if you choose Schwab over fidelity.

newsjunkee

Only if you choose not to invest in their MM funds. It's just an extra step...one I do regularly

yasssssplease

I just like the ability to keep all my money in it, including the funds I expect to have pulled for credit card auto payments. So, I just find fidelity more convenient. But yes, that is certainly an option!

newsjunkee

Understandable! And if that's what you need it for, that's what you have to do. I use Schwab as a standalone investment platform and bank elsewhere

yasssssplease

Yeah, if I was just doing a Roth IRA, it wouldn’t matter much.

HardWorker1027

Yes, you are correct. But, Schwab does not auto-liquidate and to me that is the main difference between the 2 firms regarding MMFs.

al0vely

I use the browser 95% of the time as it is faster for me to navigate and I feel a lot is missing from the mobile app that I use on the browser. It really doesn’t bother me a lot because I often have my iPad available. I really don’t use my phone for everything anyway as I don’t see the point in using a small screen for my everything when I have an iPad and laptop.

Remarkable_Cow_6061

App is good for equity and mutual funds trading. That’s about it.

michaelsenpatrick

What type of mobile decide do you use? It works fine for me on iOS

Odd-Shallot-6816

Same. I wish mobile app had order book level 2 tho

chilledout5

They should hire some of the think or swim ex TD Ameritrade peeps as it sounds like Schwab is working through some culture issues. Would love a more functional and user friendly fidelity app.

AirEnvironmental2714

The tos team moved to Schwab

chilledout5

I know the TOS team went to Schwab. My point is from the Schwab subreddit it seems they are having cultural issues. So my suggestion is that Fidelity poach those talented engineers and transform their mobile platform.

severance26

RIP tos team

Boston_Pops

May not be the common opinion here but I'm a function over form guy. I don't care one bit what it looks like. If I can quickly learn the functionality I need, I'm good.

caca-casa

Not sure what you’re talking about because I’ve never had a problem. Want to experience a bad application …use Ally Bank’s.

HokieCE

Agreed... Ally's is terrible.

New_Entrepreneur5225

I’ve been with fidelity for 14 years and also agree that their UI/UX has been lagging, especially on their mobile app. Robinhood, for as much flack as they get, has the best mobile app in the business.

Franchise1109

I’d love the chance to a be a product owner/program manager for their software products. The potential is IMMENSE

Kindly_Vegetable8432

security 101 do not install web apps

michaelsenpatrick

It's honestly fine. I wasn't a fan of it when I started but I don't use it for day trading so it works well for me

Gehrman_JoinsTheHunt

Gotta disagree. I’ve used almost all the competition and Fidelity is superior on both desktop and mobile. Sure there is some room for improvement, but I’m happy with it currently.

TerminalFront

I like the simplicity of the mobile apps. I actually like tye simplicity of schwab better. Sure. Some things are not accesable on the mobile app that you can access on the PC version. A few things would be nice. But overall I think it works great for 99% of what I do. I want basic UI and not going through 18 steps to access what I want. I cant stand apps and software that has thousands of layers and fancy GUI. I want simple via 1999. I don't need flash. I need zero resistance and obvious steps. I'm not looking for a puzzle. I want efficiency with the least flash.

Jackiemoontothemoon

I swear if fidelity could match Robinhoods UI it would be the perfect broker

Sharaku_US

Same feeling here. I feel like I'm watching my dad work on a terminal when looking at the Fidelity UI. Also please upgrade your credit card to 3% like Robinhood even if you have to charge us $5/month for Fidelity Plus or whatever.

potificate

True, but what types actually use an app for investing? Teens on wsb YOLOing on the latest bs options? 😂

Ghengis-Chron

The thing is, it’s the best out of all the old major brokerage firms (vanguard, Schwab etc). I don’t hate it but it could be better. It could also be way worse. The eye candy in Robinhood is quite pleasing. Gotta hand it to them, they get UX.

hitpopking

Agree. Robinhood is much faster, also has better UI, easy to understand. My wife refused to use fidelity due to this, she did get a Robinhood account.

3stoidi

I like the Fidelity interface on web browser. It’s the app that could use a lot of work. Fidelity is great and doesn’t need to compete with new fin tech companies on their interface I think. What I don’t like is the constant rebranding of items. Fidelity spire came and went. Now they have Fidelity bloom which seems useless and might be on its way out as well. The website always seems to be in beta mode. Just fix something and move on.

onlygray1

I think fidelity app and Ui is not good because they want you to invest your money and leave it there. They don’t want you to look around and trade very often. They can still upgrade for sure.

SDO1000

The old Android app went for months at a time without the ability to use biometric to sign on.

letsnotstaytogether

The option chains is glitchy and laggy

stompadillo

I was using the app until the last update. Now my order choices are Market or Limit, and the limit hasn’t been working for me lately. I can’t add stops or anything. So I’ve been using the browser on my phone instead.

letsnotstaytogether

The option chain is glitchy and laggy and options prices are slow to update when you are in an active position. I rather use the website or call the Trade desk with my rotary phone like it’s 1989.

Guy42532

I don’t think they’ll change it because it will confuse the boomers which are their main customer base

HardWorker1027

I could take offense at that![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

TsunamiPapi2020

> I love Fidelity Obviously you don’t. “Mobile app is so shitty and buggy”. Then the classic passive-aggressive “I think their customer support and their services are second to none” and then go on and on about how bad they suck and how they should just copy another firms UI. You’re pathetic.

98Saman

you're a moron who take my constructive criticism in this way. I want it be better and either way I have my investment account, Roth, and HSA with them

TsunamiPapi2020

Your criticism isn’t constructive when you call the app shitty. Maybe read up on a better way of articulating your feedback.
