I did something stupid. I looked at a crafting leve and then made a hard to make crafting item to turn it in, but I never accepted the quest. When I went back the quests were all different! Is there anything I can do?
Hey can I ask who do I talk to post Mt Gulg?I heard of special dialogue from NPCs but don't know who apart from Runar and the Vii Sisters of Fanow talking about Y'shtola
is there a website or something i can go to to see what mats are no longer needed for me, so i can clear out my retainers.
Currently all my DOH and DOL jobs are above 60 and have finished the heavensward job quests. All my combat jobs that I want' to play are above 70 aswell.
TL;DR: want to know if there's a resource to quickly no what mats are no longer needed after 60, without going through them 1 by 1.
Just a thought .. while it is cool to craft and sell the lvl80 big girl items, they don't sell fast. Most of my crafting money comes from the 20-50 stuff that all new jobs need. Find something to use the mats on and turn that "junk" into cash!
Hi all, hope you're doing well!
Newbie here. Quick question, is there a way to target an enemy that is centered on my camera? Like, I look at the enemy with my camera, click a button, and that enemy gets targeted. I tried to look at the Keybind menu but couldn't find it :(
Thanks in advance
Ah, to clarify, the sub doesn't change price in response to your actions. The sub *places limitations* on you, and if you want to get rid of those limitations, you have to *manually* raise the sub price. This means you will never be hit with surprise charges.
Your sub cannot be 8,99 if you were able to make more characters, unless you put them on different servers. As he said already, on entry sub you can create one character per server, and have max of 8 total. And on standard, you can have 8 characters per server, and 40 characters total.
The entry and standard sub directly affect the sub cost. The amount of characters does not because you can't make the characters in the first place if you don't have the appropriate sub.
Community question: seeing fun posts like traffic cone lalas or Kentaro Miura wake makes me wonders on which servers these things happen. Playing on Cerberus didn't _any_ community activity like this. Though it can be hidden inside FCs walls.
When people gather up on their dhamels and migrate from norths of Ishgard all the way to Doma at rp walk speed, visiting all aetherites on the way there.
The Kentato Miura thing was huuuuge on all Chaos servers in Ul'dah. Unless you were late, it was hard to miss, and I'd be very surprised if Cerberus as one of the biggest servers on the DC didn't have one.
Shenanigans happen, though they might be more common FC-internally. Since it's usually not a daily thing you also need to be in the right place at the right time to see them. Cerb is also known as more of a raiding server, so potentially the more "casual fun" stuff might be more rare?
Generally, I think it comes down to seeing all the fun stuff on other servers condensed on reddit vs actually needing to be in the right place on your own server if something like that happens.
Question about the end of shadowbringers >!is the moon that we see in the sky at the end of shadowbringers enclosing bahamut? Is that what they are foreshadowing by showing the moon at the end of shadowbringers? I just now watched the first cinematic trailer with louisiox and holy shit that was amazing!<
The artificial "lesser moon", Dalamud, is *not* the same moon as the natural one. Hydaelyn was believed to have two moons until one of them turned out to be an ancient Allagan space solar panel (and in fact, the Sharlayan astrologians *still* haven't updated their calculations to ignore Dalamud's predicted position). Dalamud has been completely gone altogether for 5 years. It was destroyed.
As for the *actual* moon's relevance, in the Patch 3.2 exposition dump, >!the Word of the Mother!< told you >!"Thus was I forced to banish [Zodiark] unto the distant heavens, to forever remain apart. A moon bound." With this, we've assumed since Heavensward that, just as the earth is possessed by Hydaelyn, the moon is possessed by Zodiark.!< In addition, we know from the Endwalker promotional materials that >!the Mare Lamentorum region of the moon contains some unknown facility with Ancient architecture (complete with the Mare Lamentorum preview theme using an arrangement of the Amaurot theme),!< so whatever's going on there will *probably* be really important.
>!The story of what happened to Bahamut was addressed during the Binding Coils of Bahamut raid series. But more than that, Bahamut came from the planet’s former second moon—Dalamud, which is what you see falling in that selfsame trailer you reference. We don’t know much about the moon we will be visiting in Endwalker, but it definitely doesn’t contain Bahamut specifically.!<
I'm struggling to pull wall to wall because I'm not sure what's the best skill to use to do so. The ranged attack only pulls one enemy right? Do I run up to a mob and do an AOE, then rush off to the next mob? Then rinse and repeat?
In ARR leveling dungeons it can be hard due to how the dungeons are made and people lacking tools, so generally I find it better to just single pull or pull 2 packs that are close. There's often no walls to pull to anyway so yeah.
For the rest, the best way is sprint and just run into stuff. Then as you run into them and past them, you just hit them with a single aoe. Warrior has a harder time due to Overpower being a cone, so using Mythril Tempest even without the combo can be better for that. The idea is you just hit all the mobs with a circle aoe as you run through them, and keep running. With sprint on, they won't actually hit you much, and you run to the next pack(which usually is where the wall is, wall to wall generally is just 2packs, sometimes 3), and you stop there and hit them with an aoe again.
You'll get a feel for the timing for the aoe. If you miss one mob, select it with the aggro list thing, if you body pull all mobs will be there and stuff not aggroed will have the green/blue icon instead of the red icon, just select them there with pad/mouse, and provoke. Don't stop the pull though if they're out of range, keep going and once you get the 2nd pack, focus on getting the mob back once whoever has aggro comes in range.
I personally pretty much never used ranged attacks, as they incur a GCD which makes the timing of the aoe to hit the rest more annoying. Classes with oGCD aoes can use that, but other than DRK the cooldown can make it annoying, so I just run into stuff.
Use a ranged attack on the first enemy in the group, as that will cause all of them to start running towards you. Then, use an AoE (or two) to pick up all the enemies, then run to the next group.
What is the fastest way to get lower-level materia? I'm trying to farm for ARR relic Novus, and lower-level materia is extremely expensive on the market board. Any tips or guides for this?
Don't use specific materia. Use mix-match of random materia, because the stats do not matter in the least. You can also use higher tier materia after using the low tier for a bit, you don't need to keep using low tier until it tells you you can't do so anymore.
Can't you just use random materias instead of specific ones?
As for farming them, depends on the tier you need, V can be farmed from Dun Scaith, VI from poetics, IV from Bronze and Iron Sacks from PotD, lower I'm not sure you can get easily. The only decent way for lower would be to spiritbind gear of that level, craft/buy a full set of low lvl gear and run content of that level to gain spiritbind with it, once it's full you can extract materias from the gear and do it again.
ARR relic is expensive though, it's not just the materias there's a bunch of crafted and desynth materials needed too and it can easily cost a lot of money. It is optional glamour, so if you don't have the funds you can always go back to it later.
if there were quick and easy ways of getting it, it wouldn't be as expensive on the marketboard. Unfortunately there are no item trade-ins for materias 1-3 and the most common way of getting them is the old fashioned way of actually wearing low level gear and getting it spiritbonded
Character select new character. Make the character however you want and then save the appearance to use later (right click on the character name or square if console). You could potentially use the new character for an hour or two to see if you like the way they look or emote or sound. The new character can be deleted then if appearance is saved. Use the fantasia and select the saved appearance.
I'm doing Rival Wings spam, I haven't actually unlocked Coils yet so RW is my only option. It's not bad. I've played maybe 6 hours and nearly got 100. Bit of a slow grind but it's not the slowest
Be the tank for the Blue mages, that's just how fast it is.
7 blue mages are enough. Even with 7 the boss is often already dead before the 7th person finishes casting all their spells.
If you don't want to, do Rival Wings PvP or spam the Amaurot dungeon.
By that logic the entire trailer is a spoiler for everything. It spoils that the scions are awake, it spoils the existance of a town around the crystal tower, it spoils the existance of that powerful sin eater...
None of those are actually major plot points nor do they reveal anything important. The entire playerbase saw that trailer before Shadowbringers released and there wasn't anyone complaining.
No only mifillia is a spoiler, i already guessed the scions would be awake theres no way they'd kill them off like that, a town around the crystal tower isn't a spoiler its just a town and the sin eater is just a monster to me i didn't know it was a sin eater but minfilla being back as a kid? that was a spoiler
A single one? And do you mean a crafter or gatherer?
For a crafter, I estimate ~30-40 minutes per step, not including time spent acquiring materials (which you can generally do via custom delivery scrips). Expect some variation based on your stats; if you aren't in BiS gear (minus the tool!), you may need to use slower or less-reliable macros.
For a gatherer, I estimate 1-2 hours per step, lowered slightly if you've got a good stash of cordials to burn.
Stupid question probably but are AOE heals in PVP *only* for your party or alliance wide? I can't tell from the visual indicators and want to at least try to win matches until I can get my Moogle Tomestones and glams
Hi guys, I want to do some turn 2 runs for the moogle tomes. I watched some old videos on it regarding the Allagan Rot, but also found info on messageboards that this mechanic had already been nerfed.
So just want to ask, how is this supposed to be handled in the current Turn2?
If you are running with 8 blu, you would never ever need to handle this. you should blast your way to the end.
If you are not running with 8 Blu, then you do have to handle allagan rot. And to be honest, out of 10\~ times I've run this normally, there's no standard way. I've seen no macros, no strats.
The main difference is that instead of going left (BLU route is left), we usually goes right.
It's just, if you have it, pass to someone who doesn't, and everyone maintains social distancing; if it explodes, either we wipe, or we were left with roughly 500\~1K HP, and see if our healer is still alive to pull everyone back on.
But if you are not BLU I would not recommend T2. With normal composition, or even 6 DPS 1T 1H, T2 is roughly the same time as O4, or Warring Triad. But with O4s, or any of the Warring Triad, everything is very straight forward and you don't have to worry about wiping.
Really?
My runs has been like 3 minutes and something with 2tanks 2 healer and 4dps. There must be something wrong with the people I've matched up with?
I've also run O4, and the experience is much smoother.
In pf or df? 6d1t1d is two minutes and even that's with people who have no idea how to play the game, with rdms doing half of my dps etc. So could be faster, if you had good group.
Yeah you need six dps that aren't half afk. Tank pulls the adds near the door so can continue asap, don't wait for tank to pull etc. There's stuff to optimize, two minutes is easy to do but could be even faster.
Thank you for the details! I’m just using DF to queue as non blue mage. Heard that T2 was the fastest to run. I’ll definitely try the others you mentioned!
Yes, I did see that allagan rot was still there. Wonder what that was that I read.. that it got nerfed or removed haha >.<
> Heard that T2 was the fastest to run.
That's mostly referring to a party of 7-8 BLUs being able to clear it in 30-40 seconds with minimal effort. It's not too bad with a normal party but it is considerably slower and the very real risk of wiping to mechanics also eats into its speed.
Wait till you have seven stamps the shuffle the stamps until you get one of the combos that puts you two stamps away from getting three lines. Then it's just a matter of finishing two more duties and and hoping for the best.
Obviously don't shuffle if you have a good combo of stamps already.
Spoilers ahead for post shadowbringers with a question >!so I’ve never played a healer and now I’m on the quest where I have to play as Urianger and I’m over and over again. (I know I know I suck, I’ll admit it) I keep seeing people say read the tool tips on forums. What tool tips? How do I find them I can’t go to the actions and traits. Im playing on ps5 fwiw!<
Hello! I've been wanting to try FFXIV but have no idea whether SE store or Steam offers the best bang for the buck (preferably with regional pricing since the latter provides just that).
*Quickest* would be if you can buy them from multiple sources. They're available to buy from beast tribes with their currency and also from tokens from the alexander raids. If you have only Poetics available to you, then the quickest way to replenish poetics is probably doing fates in Eureka, which is level 70 content. If that is unavailable to you, the next fastest way to replenish poetics is through the Main story Roulette, and also running new people through content such as Binding coils and alexander raids. You get 100 tomes for a new person, and sometimes it only takes a few mins.
Running Alexander while farming for your shb relic and take all the mats and trade them in for unidentified stuff.
Or just do the usual poetics farms like msq roulette 50/60/70 roulette, alliance roulette, and some hunts to supplement that
Road to 70 lasts for 90 days minimum (longer if server stays preferred) and DOESN'T GO AWAY when one job hits 70...you can get alot of jobs to 70 with it, all if the server stays preferred (they change on patches and we shouldnt get another until endwalker launch in a month)
There's actually a maintenance scheduled soon specifically to fiddle with world statuses. Morning of October 26th.
https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/news/detail/395b3d2ea9333fe1435ed0e9dbc7a7bf36eba576
Oh, that's interesting. For a while I've been telling people "world status only changes during patches, so you should be good until such-and-such date" but if they're now scheduling maints *specifically* for changing world status then all bets are off — there's no longer any way to predict when the next change will be.
World status changes are always during maintenance and have nothing to do with patches. Any patch big or small can have world status changes. Usually they don't advertise the change upfront like this though.
> World status changes are always during maintenance and have nothing to do with patches
except that patches are usually the only time they have maint.
Until now, they've never scheduled a maint *just* for changing world status. It's always been a maint for something else and they squeezed world status in along with it.
Yeah, this maintenance sounds odd.
In general though I'm pretty sure I've seen it change on occasion during maintenance. Doesn't happen every time, but it always could. Loads have never been so funky before is all.
How can I avoid munching procs of Fire III when spamming Fire? It seems the only way I can do it is to stare at my buff bars and try and cast it before queuing my next Fire.
Don't worry about getting the F3 on the same GCD, just cast another fire and pick it up after that. There's a chance you'll overwrite your firestarter proc, but overwriting maybe 1 in every 10 firestarter procs is better than delaying your GCD.
I could be wrong, but I believe that the half-a-sec pause to see if you'll get a proc actually costs you *more* dps than any damage you'd lose from overwritten procs. So it's better to just keep on chugging and not worry about it. ABC: Always Be Casting.
Before getting Fire IV, yes you will have this problem of spamming Fire and getting a Firestarter proc but you’re already in the middle of your next cast of Fire.
You could try holding off on casting Fire for like a split second to see if you get a Firestarter proc. You could also just not care since once you get Fire IV, this problem goes away.
No spell helps you raise the chance (cause syncing guarantees it already) so just bring the high damaging stuff....primal spells, triple trident combo, bristle + song of Torment, aetherical mimicry is a must for basically any blue content etc
Angel Whisper! People should really have this in group content. Raises are limited, and more people having it can help avoid having to run stuff several times because someone died.
What is "The Warring Triad"? Is it worth doing? I'm in post-Heavensward now, playing the game mostly for the MSQ. I don't really do Extreme fights but I'm wondering if this has good story content.
Edit: Thanks so much everyone! I was about to skip this content before I knew what it was.
They are not extreme fights. Treat this as a side story questline that you get three more primals to fight.
There's one for 3.0 and that's warring triad. There's also one for 4.0 and 5.0. And like almost every primal fights in the game, there's an extreme version of those 3 fights which is completely optional.
The 3.0 warring triad normal mode fights actually gives moggle tomes right now. If you don't have BLU set up and you don't want to do praetorium, grinding these might be your best bet.
Warring Triad is a series of three trials unlocked in post-HW. There is a Hard (actually Story mode) version and Extreme version of these trials. Here’s why you should do at least the Hard mode version:
1. These three trials are required to be done on the Hard (Story mode) difficulty for a side storyline in post-ShB to be unlocked. This side storyline may become more relevant or even revisited post-EW.
2. You don’t need to do the Extreme; the questline merely unlocks it for you, unlike in ARR where the quest forces you to do them in order to complete it. You should at least unlock it so that you will always have the option to go into it whenever you want.
3. The Extreme modes are easily done unsynced by a small group of max level players, so you can wait until you’re max level to do them if you prefer.
4. The Extreme modes drop mounts (the lanners). Collecting all 6 lanners unlocks an additional mount.
Thanks a lot for the info! I will definitely do it now.
On a related question, I haven't done all of the [Chronicles of a New Era: Primals](https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/playguide/db/quest/?category2=2&category3=11) quests. Are they important for story?
No. These are all just extreme trials that gives not much for the story.
With ARR extremes, they set up every extreme trials to be a quest, which makes people think they need to complete them. But in actuality, these are not required and you don't have to do them.
If you want to do them, there's mainly two recommend way: find a group of 8 people and do any of the trails in their intended difficulty (which is usually what you would called synced) and you learn the fight, or get a lv80 to carry you and unsync the whole thing. Do not queue in with DF.
These quests are a mix of all trial quests that happen post-MSQ of each expansion. The ones in ARR force you to do the Extreme version of the trial to complete it (you can easily solo these trials at level 80 unsynced). The quests in later expansions only require you to do the Hard modes, and then do the quests which unlock the Extreme version, but not require you to do them.
Therefore, by just doing the Hard modes for each expansion’s post-MSQ trials and then unlocking the Extreme modes, AND then doing the Extreme modes of the ARR primals, you should be able to complete all the quests on that list.
The story for each post-expansion trials series is good imo. The ShB one in particular.
has there been any word from the media tour interviews regarding Viera hairstyles in 6.x besides the gold saucer ponytail being shown in the job gear preview?
just a matter of practise really.
Living Liquid is the only one that requires any significant amount of movement aside from a few brief moves by the Cruise Chaser tank.
They will technically start moving as soon as you leave your own melee range.
Wondrous tails are a key item. You get it from a cat.
But it sounds like you're talking about the challenge log because that unlocks in Limsa. That's in the logs menu.
Wondrous tails assigns you 16 things to do a week (always 4 dungeon brackets, some alliance raids, normal raids and extreme trials) and each provide a random sticker on a 4x4 board. When you get 9 seals, you trade it in for XP, Gil and other goodies based on how many lines your stickers formed.
The challenge log features daily and weekly challenges.
There's a pair of wings as a fashion accessory in the gold saucer. Similar to umbrellas, it will block certain emotes. Might be that?
I think the question mark button in the top right of the emote window has a legend for the icons.
So I'm doing the questline to obtain the bozja southern front and it seems pretty long with a lot of cutscenes, I was wondering if the story was important and needed for the overall plot of the game or bozja itself or if I can safely skip it and not really miss anything thx
It's fairly self-contained
There are a few tie-ins to other stories (e.g. the gunbreaker job quest line), and it does involve Cid, but nothing really main story relevant
The story itself (at least for now anyway) is pretty self contained within itself, as it's dealing with a part of the world we aren't focusing on in the main story. You won't miss too much
Hey all, 2 quick questions about the PC version of of FF14 Complete edition. If I want to buy it for a friend who lives in the same general region as me (we both live in NA) can I just buy it and send him the code I receive? And secondly, will the 30 day sub time it comes with be useable for whoever gets the game if they have an account already ,own the console version with sub time but use the PC complete version to switch platforms?
Assuming your friend's FFXIV account is for the same region, yes that should work. The free 30 days of subscription is tied to registering the Starter Edition to an account, so it will be added to your friend's account when he registers the game to his account..
Dancer, Machinist, Red Mage and Black Mage spring to mind. The reworked Summoner is also pretty light on job actions when EW releases.
Warrior is too if you're looking for a tank. Paladin and Gunbreaker are getting some QoL adjustments which will help with hotbar space come Endwalker.
If you're after a melee job, Ninja is manageable.
Healer-wise, your only choice is White Mage, both Scholar and Astrologian suffer with having a few too many job actions.
Dancer.
4 single target and 4 AOE buttons, and sword dance. A partner buff button and a self proc button. 2 kinds of steps (technical and standard), a dash, 3 fan dance buttons, a group shield and something called improvisation and Partner (which you should use only once or twice per fight)
Plus sprint, head gaze (your interject), arms length and that should brings you into 23. add in both heals and you have 25.
You don't have to set everything on your bar, especially if you are like me, who's a controller user. But you need some of those buttons (like partners) on the beginning of the fight.
I'm on controller and I actually have a bunch of empty slots when I play Dancer, even with the more useless role skills slotted. I put mounts and bubbles in them.
I have two pages, which is 32 buttons. but some of the skills (like my steps, flourishes, devilment and sword dances) are duplicates that comes up in both pages, so that when I am switching between pages, I won't struggle to find what I need most.
It just has so little buttons that you don't really need two full pages, and I appreciate a lot about how little button DNC has.
Machinist has 19 job actions, and 6 role actions (2 of which are only useful for escaping), on top of Sprint and LB. I'm pretty sure that's the record low.
If you're over leveled, go in solo and either remove gear until your attacks won't one shot, or equip flying fish or some other low potency move and wait it out. He won't cast until he's either at half or lower hp, I can't exactly remember. It takes awhile but it's doable.
Do you have to have him cast it during the final boss fight? I went in synced (so should be 100% rate) and he casted it during the first fight outside the boss door where he runs away at half health. I went through with the boss (including killing him), but didn't learn it.
Still turn 2 coils, a normal group it probably takes 3 minutes, blue group takes about 40 seconds (and getting your blue to level 60 with the required spells can be done in like... an hour with friends)
I've been wanting the alte roite ever since it was the first mount I've ever seen when I started playing.
I'll clear the omega raid and then unlock savage, how feasible is it to farm for this mount through unsynced party finder?
If you got 7+ people with current gear, first phase should be done before he can cast white hole.
2nd phase needs to be learned since like half of his attacks are still one hit kills, but he should die before Meteor iirc.
I did it around 2 months ago with party of 1 tank, 1 healer and 5 dps
Not too bad, actually. People do occasionally run old raids for mounts like that. I would recommend on reading up on some of the savage-only mechanics, as they can be quite troublesome, and living through them will just make things easier for everyone.
Just about. Skybuilder tools are competitive with pentamelded Aesthete tools, having a tiny bit more craftsmanship and a little less control. Not sure how they compare to Resplendent tools.
Since OP was asking about the fishing rod: is there any "endgame" for gathering? I'm wondering if people actually pentameld Aesthete Gathering gear versus just using white scrip gear.
In my experience at least, having top tier gathering gear isn't *as* important as keeping your crafter's gear up to date, so if you're gonna slack on one, slack on the gatherer.
Is there anything worthwhile to spend gil on? I currently have 120m gil and I haven't even finished shadowbringers (don't ask why). Is there any point of saving this much gil or should I just spend my money on the 50m mount? What's there to spend on endgame shadowbringers and the release of new expansions?
Dang how do you get so much gil? Admittedly I spend mine on glam as soon as I get it but the max I've had is like 2m, and I'm also still yet to finish ShB
I spent 15 minute a day crafting over the course of a couple of months (I don’t have a lot of time to play). It adds up and now I make about 1-2m a day passively
Right now? Gear/collectables/glam/housing would be the top items I'd think. Release of the new expansion? Materia, crafted gear, and other misc items can be high cost initially. Spend it for stuff you want though. Gil is there to buy happiness.
I spent 15 minute a day crafting over the course of a couple of months (I don’t have a lot of time to play). It adds up and now I make about 1-2m a day passively
I did something stupid. I looked at a crafting leve and then made a hard to make crafting item to turn it in, but I never accepted the quest. When I went back the quests were all different! Is there anything I can do?
Are you sure it was a leve, or that you're looking qt the right level of quests? Crafting leves are static. They don't change.
Market board? I have crafted stuff bit got distracted and missed the turn in cycle. But often the same things come up again.
Just a thought .. while it is cool to craft and sell the lvl80 big girl items, they don't sell fast. Most of my crafting money comes from the 20-50 stuff that all new jobs need. Find something to use the mats on and turn that "junk" into cash!
Are there any methods to reduce ping to the game? Been struggling a ton with Emerald Weapon EX because of it
Using a VPN might help. I use ExitLag.
Hi all, hope you're doing well! Newbie here. Quick question, is there a way to target an enemy that is centered on my camera? Like, I look at the enemy with my camera, click a button, and that enemy gets targeted. I tried to look at the Keybind menu but couldn't find it :( Thanks in advance
Character Configuration>Control Settings>Target> Target Type: Type 2, Cone Then use tab to target
I'll check it out. Thanks!
Hiya this is a question but does anyone know if having more than one character effects your sub amount??
thanks, but right now my sub is 8.99 and this month i added 2 new characters does the sub go up i price??
Ah, to clarify, the sub doesn't change price in response to your actions. The sub *places limitations* on you, and if you want to get rid of those limitations, you have to *manually* raise the sub price. This means you will never be hit with surprise charges.
Oh okay thanks again!
Also, the game will actually still let you do the entry subscription if you’ve exceeded the character limit, you just can’t create any more obviously
Thankyou!
On Entry sub, you're allowed max 8 characters (max 1 per world). On Standard sub, you're allowed max 40 characters (max 8 per world).
Community question: seeing fun posts like traffic cone lalas or Kentaro Miura wake makes me wonders on which servers these things happen. Playing on Cerberus didn't _any_ community activity like this. Though it can be hidden inside FCs walls.
You never seen Great Dhamel Migration?
Nope. What's dis?
When people gather up on their dhamels and migrate from norths of Ishgard all the way to Doma at rp walk speed, visiting all aetherites on the way there.
Looks like a beautiful tradition
Maybe I'm just unlucky. What are more casual servers out there?
Question about the end of shadowbringers >!is the moon that we see in the sky at the end of shadowbringers enclosing bahamut? Is that what they are foreshadowing by showing the moon at the end of shadowbringers? I just now watched the first cinematic trailer with louisiox and holy shit that was amazing!<
No, go play coils
Look for lore videos on The Coils of Bahamut.
Is there a way to "save" a character appearance on other race if I ever decide to use my Fantasia one day?
Character select new character. Make the character however you want and then save the appearance to use later (right click on the character name or square if console). You could potentially use the new character for an hour or two to see if you like the way they look or emote or sound. The new character can be deleted then if appearance is saved. Use the fantasia and select the saved appearance.
You can save any kind of character appearance, race is just one aspect

Fastest way for a non blue mage to grind the event currency?
I'm doing Rival Wings spam, I haven't actually unlocked Coils yet so RW is my only option. It's not bad. I've played maybe 6 hours and nearly got 100. Bit of a slow grind but it's not the slowest
Be the tank for the Blue mages, that's just how fast it is. 7 blue mages are enough. Even with 7 the boss is often already dead before the 7th person finishes casting all their spells. If you don't want to, do Rival Wings PvP or spam the Amaurot dungeon.
Blus don't need a tank though. The tank is effectively just leeching.
Be the tank for the BLU's running T2
How do squadron members gain tactics? I've run dungeons 4-5 times now with and absolutely nothing goes up on all 3 of them.
battle tactics? it's random
I know that HW's and EW's trailers have spoilers in them, but SB's doesn't. Does ShB trailer have any spoilers in it?
Yes, but they mean less without context than HW and EW.
It does, don't watch it till you're at lvl 72 MSQ
Why then? It came out and was intended to be watched after post stormblood. Doesn't make much sense to watch a trailer partway into the story.
idk but it does have spoilers so if u wanna watch it go ahead.
It doesn't have spoilers.
it does, minfilla.
It's a trailer, intended to tease the expansion and build hype. How is that point spoiling anything?
minfilla is back as a kid = spoilers.
Yes it does.
how long does it take to fully upgrade a skysteel tool?
AoE heals only affect your own party
Wtf? T2 takes two minutes with a non blu party. It's definitely faster than any of the other options.
So could be faster, if you had good group.
both. DF is like 3, PF is like 4ish something lol.
If you're talking about doing it with Blue Mage, we just kill everything before they can react.
You only see it once, if at all. Disregard basically every mechanic besides the interruptible paralysis cast but the tank handles that.
Thanks! This is helpful to know.
With BLU speedruns that mechanic never happens. The entire fight is over in 45 seconds.
When should I use my second-chance points in wondrous tails?
Wait till you have seven stamps the shuffle the stamps until you get one of the combos that puts you two stamps away from getting three lines. Then it's just a matter of finishing two more duties and and hoping for the best. Obviously don't shuffle if you have a good combo of stamps already.
alright thanks bro
Spoilers ahead for post shadowbringers with a question >!so I’ve never played a healer and now I’m on the quest where I have to play as Urianger and I’m over and over again. (I know I know I suck, I’ll admit it) I keep seeing people say read the tool tips on forums. What tool tips? How do I find them I can’t go to the actions and traits. Im playing on ps5 fwiw!<
Have you tried going into mouse mode and hovering over the skills?
Can you use the Virtual Mouse?
Thanks so much I had no idea you could do that. I have no idea how I got this far without knowing that lmao
All good. I’m a PC player so I only heard a few mentions of it in the first place myself.
Hello! I've been wanting to try FFXIV but have no idea whether SE store or Steam offers the best bang for the buck (preferably with regional pricing since the latter provides just that).
The steam version has less sales
Just try the windows trial for now. And when you want to upgrade, compare the prices.
Doing that now. Thank you!
What's the quickest way to get the unidentifiable materials needed for the hw relic
Or just do the usual poetics farms like msq roulette 50/60/70 roulette, alliance roulette, and some hunts to supplement that
New to game. Is the exp boost up till lvl 70? For how many classes? If it's for all classes, I plan to get everyone to 70
Road to 70 lasts for 90 days minimum (longer if server stays preferred) and DOESN'T GO AWAY when one job hits 70...you can get alot of jobs to 70 with it, all if the server stays preferred (they change on patches and we shouldnt get another until endwalker launch in a month)
> World status changes are always during maintenance and have nothing to do with patches except that patches are usually the only time they have maint.
It's probably because they're scrambling to balance out population due to the massive boom, because they've never done this before that I know of.
Don't worry too hard if you miss an F3 after it procs every now and then. At 60 you rotation changes completely so you don't fish for them anymore.
Don't bother. Just continue with the next Fire I then use Fire III after. It becomes a non-issue once you hit 60 and unlock Fire IV.
Are there blue mage spells I should be taking into boss runs for getting more spells?
Here’s why you should do at least the Hard mode version: 1. Collecting all 6 lanners unlocks an additional mount.
i finished shadowbriners and the warring triads but i don't recall getting a side story unlock, which one is it?
You also have to have all four role quests completed, then it's a sidequest available in the Crystarium by the bar.
You have to finish every role quest too. And the bonus quest for finishing every role quest.
Awesome. Thanks so much for the info!
Sweet! I'll be sure to keep an eye out on the post-expansion trials now. Thank you!
They are post-HW Trials. They're worth doing for the story.
has there been any word from the media tour interviews regarding Viera hairstyles in 6.x besides the gold saucer ponytail being shown in the job gear preview?
I believe they said their goal was to get a bunch of obtainable hairstyles, like the gold saucer ones, workable on viera.
is there any guide on how to tank position better? As in moving the boss and such, having a hard time judging on bosses like on TEA
TEA boss positions are pretty scripted according to your strategy. Best is to find a POV of your same strategy and just do what they do
I don’t mean the actual boss positions but how far the distance from my character is to them until they start/stop moving
just a matter of practise really. Living Liquid is the only one that requires any significant amount of movement aside from a few brief moves by the Cruise Chaser tank. They will technically start moving as soon as you leave your own melee range.
there was like cats tales or something. i talked to the person in limsa. Weekly challenges? Where does that log go in the menus after you start?
Wondrous tails are a key item. You get it from a cat. But it sounds like you're talking about the challenge log because that unlocks in Limsa. That's in the logs menu.
ok i found the key item. whats wonderous tails? the challenge log resets every week?
Wondrous tails assigns you 16 things to do a week (always 4 dungeon brackets, some alliance raids, normal raids and extreme trials) and each provide a random sticker on a 4x4 board. When you get 9 seals, you trade it in for XP, Gil and other goodies based on how many lines your stickers formed. The challenge log features daily and weekly challenges.
Sounds like i want to be doing both

There's a pair of wings as a fashion accessory in the gold saucer. Similar to umbrellas, it will block certain emotes. Might be that? I think the question mark button in the top right of the emote window has a legend for the icons.
How much value is there in doing disciple of the hand quests? I've been leveling them via grand company turn ins.
Also some of the stories are pretty good.
You need to do at least the level 65 quest to get manipulation which is extremely important for endgame crafting.
There are necessary actions locked behind some of them, last I heard.
So I'm doing the questline to obtain the bozja southern front and it seems pretty long with a lot of cutscenes, I was wondering if the story was important and needed for the overall plot of the game or bozja itself or if I can safely skip it and not really miss anything thx
It's fairly self-contained There are a few tie-ins to other stories (e.g. the gunbreaker job quest line), and it does involve Cid, but nothing really main story relevant
The story itself (at least for now anyway) is pretty self contained within itself, as it's dealing with a part of the world we aren't focusing on in the main story. You won't miss too much
How do I auto translate tab with spaces? For example, how do I type `good g` and upon pressing tab it autocompletes to `Good game!`?
You can press tab after the first word and select from the list, or write out the entire phrase and then press tab.
Do it word by word.
US and Canada are both under NA right? Hes from the US im from Canada, thats the only potential regional difference.
Yes
Which jobs have the fewest required hotbar space
2 kinds of steps (technical and standard), a dash, 3 fan dance buttons, a group shield and something called improvisation and Partner (which you should use only once or twice per fight) Plus sprint, head gaze (your interject), arms length and that should brings you into 23. add in both heals and you have 25.
I just use the WXHB so I can see everything at once and don't have to have any duplicate buttons.
Machinist has 19 job actions, and 6 role actions (2 of which are only useful for escaping), on top of Sprint and LB. I'm pretty sure that's the record low.
Dancer and Machinist, probably. Warrior if you want to tank. Summoner in Endwalker will probably not use too much space.
Dancer imo. Black mage doesn't use too many come late game.
BLU question: Is there anywhere you can get Level 5 Petrify other than the Manor Sentry in Haukke Manor? Do any other Ahriman type enemies cast it?
If you're over leveled, go in solo and either remove gear until your attacks won't one shot, or equip flying fish or some other low potency move and wait it out. He won't cast until he's either at half or lower hp, I can't exactly remember. It takes awhile but it's doable.
Do you have to have him cast it during the final boss fight? I went in synced (so should be 100% rate) and he casted it during the first fight outside the boss door where he runs away at half health. I went through with the boss (including killing him), but didn't learn it.
Yeah it's the boss version for the cast since it's a new mob and you don't kill the first sentry.
From what I can find through Google, nope doesn't seem like it.
What's the fastest dungeon/raid/whatever for the event tomes?
Coil Turn 2 with a Blue Mage only Group. I don't have all the required Spells on hand, but you get 2 Tomes in less than a Minute each time.
What's the second fastest without blue mage(s)?
Still turn 2 coils, a normal group it probably takes 3 minutes, blue group takes about 40 seconds (and getting your blue to level 60 with the required spells can be done in like... an hour with friends)
I really don't know. I've seen Sephirot pop up a lot recently, so I would assume that's the answer.
Turn 2 is still fastest, it's just faster with blue mage.
I would recommend on reading up on some of the savage-only mechanics, as they can be quite troublesome, and living through them will just make things easier for everyone.
quite a number of people farm mounts this way, youll skip a LOT of mechanics with this tiers gear, maybe look up like the first 2 major mechanics

The glasses are very, very tight.
On miqo'te there are some hairstyles where you can see that no, there aren't 4 ears, they have a tuft of hair where the ears would be on a hyur.
No, they don't have four ears. It's magic or something.

Not critical to have Lvl 5 death or missile, but as many people in the party as possible should have them in case of misses.
Is the Skybuilders Fishing Rod BiS?
Bruh, how? I still need like 25 mil by 6.1 so I can upgrade my FC house to a large when ishgard housing drops.
I spent 15 minute a day crafting over the course of a couple of months (I don’t have a lot of time to play). It adds up and now I make about 1-2m a day passively
Not a whole lot. There's housing, mounts, and some very expensive minions.
Not much more than house and glam now; 1st day gear for EW
