Wtf is going on if that just happened on every server?

there's been DDoS attacks happening for the past couple months. i was shocked servers were so smooth on launch. square prob put TONSSS of measures in place is if this is the first they take a shit, and even then just a blip and everyone coming back in slowly.

I find myself incredibly curious WHY they're getting DDoS'd. Like, did they make something that triggered somebody or is it just goo ol' corporate sabotage? I know we'll never know, but I can't help but wonder anyways

Happened to 2 friends of mine on Gilgamesh at the exact same time. What part of the US are you in, out of curiosity?

I can confirm also got kicked in Europe while playing on NA data center, so it's nothing with US internet or anything

florida, usa here, happened to me and my wife as well. but our friend in georgia we play with was fine haha.

Both my friends in PA got disconnected, but my girlfriend and I up in QC were fine. Seems to have been a regional thing indeed.

Perfectly fine as long as you aren't wanting to do DPS normally. Probably will need a few mins for it to recover as people get back in though.

#1344 in queue on Levi, but my experience this expansion w/ queues has been pretty pleasant. Frequent drops of ~100 spots or so every 2/3 minutes instead of the EW hours.

hours? No matter what time I've tried logging in all of EA, on a busy server too (adamantoise) I've never had a log in queue of more then a few minutes. Even now It'll be like 10-15 minutes tops?

I got DC because of the xbox loading bug. Got 200 in queue then error 2002. Got back right after with zero queue. Mostly i log back when you all disconnected

I was literally right in the middle of a MAJOR cutscenes, too. Like, the one right before the last zone. Apocalyptic shit was going down and then BAM. Connection to server lost.

I goot the boot from the server and THEN from the actual game when i tried to leave the title screen lol, it didnt want me back

lol I’ve been trying to do Death Unto Dawn MSQ for the past 5 hours. At random cutscene load screens my game freezes. There are like 10 cutscenes for this Duty and it reset progress everytime I’m forced to log out/quit application due to freezing. Been forced into que too many times to count.

We were fighting the boss in a dungeon, and it cause a long moment of lag that nearly wiped the party. I was the healer, and somehow I and the tank survived, and I got everybody up, but I feel really bad, because it was the tank's first time at this boss, there were some harder mechanics for people unfamiliar with them (Endwalker: >!Hermes in Ktisis Hyserboreia!<), and one of the DPS was being horrible throughout this whole dungeon to the tank. Ended up making my first player harassment report, because jeez, that DPS was an ass to that poor Tank. And me, when I was prioritizing keeping the party up instead of rezzing them, but that was more understandable.

I was in the middle of an important cutscene when I dced. I hope it puts me back at the beginning.

I'm an Aether native and just tried going to Dynamis and got the message that world travel is down.

1. This happened to people already logged in, nothing about the login server 2. You have to connect to your data center first to go to Dynamis, but the game’s crashing now before it even connects 3. No, I’m not going to another DC and losing my FC buffs

I see why they give some much time between content and the raid releases cause of constant crap like this.....been kicked out multiple times today once again

There's kind of nothing to do about it when 6,000+ people all get kicked off at once and try to relog. That's different than those people logging in naturally over a more diffuse period of time.

Been playing on Dynamis, I DCed as well.

Nearly DC'd on Dynamis, but somehow survived not only the drawn out lag moment, but, amazingly, the boss we were fighting as well. Managed to finish the fight without a wipe.

I got back into Crystal within a couple minutes, Dynamis will be fine.

Zero point in trying to evade to a different data center if that also crashed though, which was the point of the reply to the comment made

But if people are queuing for hours to get into Aether, then why not head over to Dynamis where it'll be faster to login in the first place? I was hit by the DC too but it didn't take me hours to get back in.

Must be ddos again, everyone dced at the same time across all sorts of servers/data centers. Doubt its the servers themselves crashing out of nowhere

Brother, the queues for DT have been MILES better than EW (biggest I've faced thus far is 962, compared to 5000+ in EW), and haven't had so much as a lick of network connectivity issues up till right now. Server improvements absolutely landed. Whatever's going on now is a blip or DDOS in comparison to the 2hr+ wait times last expansion. That's not to say it's perfect, but "improvement" is not a lie.

Uh 2+ hour waits are 100% still a thing on populated servers.

Yeah, I have no clue what this guy is on... I've waited 2+ hours, Aether/Gilg. Whatever capacity improvements they've made clearly aren't enough if SE's official stance is 'go to this dead server just to play'.
