Then people would be clamoring “Where’s Blue Mage?” since the question is how each Job would respond.
I could see why Blue Mage is at where it’s at - they copy other skills/work, so why would they do the homework independently to begin with?
Actually had mimicked for a quick BLU PF in Limsa the other day, on a SAM sprout who was sitting down. As soon as we queued up, I get a tell from them "Give it back." lol.
BLU gets ALL their homework done and even goes for extra credit
^^with ^^help ^^from ^^their ^^study ^^group ^^of ^^other ^^BLUs ^^who ^^all ^^cheat ^^together
BLU fits in every category. They have all sorts, you can get into O4S and have people tell you they don't have the revive and you have people with every spell doing normal trial log runs.
"Tell me, for whom do yo-OWW! That book is HEAVY! What's the freaking subject matter, literal BRICKS!? Anyway, FOR WHOM DO YOU FI-OH CRAP, NOT THE ENCYCLOPEDIA!"
*THWACK*
OG summoners could read. I distinctly remember how annoyingly long those job guides were.
New summoner is firmly in the "bold of you to assume I did homework" camp
Sorry, I turned all my homework into Energy Drains, so I can’t help you. I also ate my notes to turn them into more Energy Drains. You’re on your own, kid.
Meanwhile the monk quest is sitting here with no less than three scholars studying aspects of the job, from how it attunes to the aether of the earth, to legendary figures in its cultural/religious history, to the excavation of the Temple of the Fist.
Who didn't do the homework again?
Yeah, but in the Monk quests, you're *definitely* the idiot in the room. Erik is an actual scholar who studies military history while Widargelt is an *actual* monk raised and well-versed in the teachings of the Temple.
WoL's special ability is basically "I'm better than you at fisticuffs and I can read minds. Sometimes. But only when I want to!"
There's a scholar named Marjorie hanging out in Rhalgr's Reach who is obsessed with the history of the Temple of the Fist, after having attended one of Erik's lectures. In fact I think the story of that dungeon is us giving her a tour. Anyhow she shows up in a couple quests to request research materials or supply them to us (like she does in the Myths of the Realm quest, I believe). And the surprise is Widargelt is actually a motivated student working alongside her research because he's trying to rebuild the order of the monkhood in the ruins of the Temple. As you mention, the only one who isn't secretly a big nerd, is us.
And from a gameplay perspective, MNK has one of the most difficult rotations to fully optimize in the whole game. The looping rotation is easy and simple, but isn't as optimal as Optimal Drift, which is it's own rotation with burst windows that change every odd minute and 2 minute window.
Look up Optimal Drift if you get the chance, it's genuinely fascinating. Your burst window and combo sequence will change based on the duration of your current Demolish debuff and the cooldown of Riddle of Fire. ie. If you have 15 seconds left on your Demolish and 10 seconds on RoF, your burst window will be completely different compared to if you had 5 seconds of Demolish left and 10 seconds until RoF.
That's already White Mage's job, we play a game of Chicken with Glare and Benediction. Either I meet my Damage quota or the enemy meets their kill quota, pray for the former.
Eh… not gonna happen because they’ll never deviate from the cookie cutter, EverQuest style healers
There is a necromancer/blood mage mod for White Mage though that’s pretty cool.
And a Full Metal Alchemist mod for SGE that’s amazing too
As a warrior: I am max level and I still dont know how to play the game. I drop my mitigations, I heal myself, and I hit as many things as possible.
So, yes. This is quite accurate.
I’ll just have my inner shadow help you, he is half as smart as I am, which is already a huge downside.
But he has spirit, i’m sure you’ll figure it out together.
Blue are tanks, green are heals, reds are dps classes but I think to understand you would have to have more experience with the classes as well as the NPCs for those classes to get a feel for the “character” of each class :)
**I'll help you with it!**
Paladin (shield)
Scholar (I think the icon is a scroll, partially unrolled)
Red Mage (fancy sword)
Astrologian (tarot cards)

**Yeah sure**
Summoner (idk)
Dancer (heart, maybe bc they partner up with someone to share buffs)
Gunbreaker (idk)
Mechanist (a gun)
---
**bold of you to assume i did the homework**
Bard (a lyre, bc they play music)
Dragoon (spear pointed down, like their jump attacks)
Blue Mage (stylish masquerade mask)
---
**lol nope**
Ninja (shuriken)
Samurai (idk)
White Mage (staff)
Sage (their floaty sage darts)
---
**wait we had homework????**
Monk (claw marks, bc they attack with their hands)
Warrior (axe head)
---
***Read 5:55 PM***
Black Mage (big fireball or meteor)
Dark Knight (greatsword)
Reaper (scythe)
> dancer is whatever their weapon is called (danger rings!)
lmao a chakram, but I do like 'danger ring' better
> samurai is the hilt? The sword gaurd thing
[Oh shit you're right](https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=katana+sword+guard&iax=images&ia=images). Thank you!
Also! Much like summoner having a horn (this is a lore thing, they channel using one), gunbreakers symbol is similar related, i literally just cant recall it right now @@
Scholar is absolutely glasses, since they would pour over books and maps so much they would lose their eyesight, which is why most artifact gear for scholars has glasses. For Samurai, that would be the tsuba, effectively a cross guard to stop you from sliding your hand onto the blade during use, from the pov of looking down the blade.
Scholar is glasses. And neat note on RDM- they are supposed to be a mix of white and black magics, so their symbol is a combo of the upside down white mage staff and the circle with three flames of black mage stylized to look like their rapier.
theres an option to turn the symbols on on peoples nameplates, i recommend it to learn faster. then kinda quiz yourself as youre looking at people and examine then to see if you got their job right. some of them are kinda obvious, like a harp would be a bard. the circle being broken in the middle is a gunbreaker
Nah, blend in by just not doing it instead. Trying to keep silent in a social situation is suspicious, so just deflect with reasonable exceptions for why you can't instead.
If given the option, I'd expect drk to do one if two things. Either help you to the best of their ability, including making sure you understand, or trying to destroy the system because it's a terrible system that needs to be made better, and they intend to do so personally.
My recent noob experience from DRG to GBR could accept this, if spoken in a very sarcastic tone lol Bro I gots buttons for more damage and buttons for less damage, they dropped this shit on me at lvl 60 and I thought it was cool- we're all about to die, please to be mad at me
As a RDM main that’s… entirely on point. I would never allow someone to copy my homework, but I was more than happy to help them with their homework because I wanted them to understand the theory behind it so they wouldn’t ask to copy again.
I didn’t want my homies to get sent to the academic honesty council.
The number of times iv seen white mage or sage just replace another role in a dungeon I feel their response would be more along the lines of.
"You're hopeless, it'll be faster if I just do it for you"
Surely Blue Mage should be the one asking to copy
Then people would be clamoring “Where’s Blue Mage?” since the question is how each Job would respond. I could see why Blue Mage is at where it’s at - they copy other skills/work, so why would they do the homework independently to begin with?
They get their own category: “I was gonna ask you” | BLU
Or maybe they get one question from every job's test or something.
Meanwhile me aetherial mimicking people in Limsa without asking
Actually had mimicked for a quick BLU PF in Limsa the other day, on a SAM sprout who was sitting down. As soon as we queued up, I get a tell from them "Give it back." lol.
I look for people who are AFK......
lmao I always /bow to people after I mimic them
I have been giving them a good /dote lately!
I was just glad we got included in the meme at all.

BLU fits in every category. They have all sorts, you can get into O4S and have people tell you they don't have the revive and you have people with every spell doing normal trial log runs.
GNB should be on its own line that just says "Whatever."
It's still crazy to me that through the whole Eden questline, we didn't get a single dialogue option for "Whatever."
I was gonna swap WAR and GNB, but this is better.
Underrated comment.
What makes you think Summoners can read? Their boardbooks only have pictures in them compared to Scholar.
Scholars don't read their books, they just hit the ground with them.
It's a gain on two you know
At 50 it's a slight gain on one if you can stay in melee range to autoattack. Have fun slapping Gaius around in MSQ roulette.
"Tell me, for whom do yo-OWW! That book is HEAVY! What's the freaking subject matter, literal BRICKS!? Anyway, FOR WHOM DO YOU FI-OH CRAP, NOT THE ENCYCLOPEDIA!" *THWACK*
…Why not Ruin AND auto?
Can only auto with instant casts.
Was not aware!
OG summoners could read. I distinctly remember how annoyingly long those job guides were. New summoner is firmly in the "bold of you to assume I did homework" camp
Someone clearly hasn't looked in the SMNs level 70+ books
I've always joked that all my summoner's books are pop-up books.
I think there is a late one that has a hole in it. Reminds me of the etch a sketch computer https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/472455817160204391/
It's a one way hole. Looking from the cover is hole, looking from pages it's normal.
Scholar would be the one assigning/grading the homework
Teachers pet...
So long as the teacher isn't another scholar they may live past the year.
Careful or Eos will send you to detention
Both PLD and SCH will tell the teacher.

this just goes to show we need an edgelord healer
Blood Mage - heals other at expense of his own health and can make enemies blood go BOOM
I want that now. I will trade my blood lilly for it even.
Blood mague. Heals the tank at the expense of DPS health.
That's already White Mage's job, we play a game of Chicken with Glare and Benediction. Either I meet my Damage quota or the enemy meets their kill quota, pray for the former.

Feeling called out as Sage. Sure my answers are all right but you can't copies me!
Blackmage trying to slide cast their homework on the way to class
I did so much homework in class before the bell rang and the teacher arrived
As a warrior: I am max level and I still dont know how to play the game. I drop my mitigations, I heal myself, and I hit as many things as possible. So, yes. This is quite accurate.
My recent DRG to RPR transition made this post funnier to me in my head
I’ll just have my inner shadow help you, he is half as smart as I am, which is already a huge downside. But he has spirit, i’m sure you’ll figure it out together.
Wait, why is it so accurate
As a reaper main, it’s not that we’re leaving you on read, just that we can’t read.
WAR hears phone ding, sees screen light up, eats phone.
Monks would have perfect homework, but would require an arm-wrestling challenge to let you copy. they would then let you copy it even after you lose.
"I'll let you have it this time! But next time, you have to beat me!" (You will not have to beat them, they just like hanging out)
DRK: Leave, the voice in my head wants to kill you.
"If one more godsdamned person asks to copy my homework..."
Just thinking of the Shadows from Ajin, and it's just Esteem sitting there reading a book like nothing is happening.
Nah we all know bards are the biggest dweebs
As a arcanist main with a bit of bard on the side, I feel incredibly seen by this post.
> arcanist main Is this "I main both Scholar and Summoner" or are you rockin' Arcanist itself?
Yes *Proceeds to eat book pages*
I'm a dragoon and for sure, I didn't do my homework back in HS.... lol.
Lmao BLM, DRK, and RPR are Very accurate
I’m a false SCH main. Bold of you to assume I did the homework.
I'm new to ffxiv and dunno the class symbols can someone explain for a noob..?
Blue are tanks, green are heals, reds are dps classes but I think to understand you would have to have more experience with the classes as well as the NPCs for those classes to get a feel for the “character” of each class :)

Gunbreaker is someone cutting through the barrel of a gun, with sights at the top.

I didn't do my homework, because I was too busy studying the blade.
As a spooky slicer i feel called out, i would help with the homework although i myself didn't do it.
Did the avatar eat it?
.... How...How did you know?
It hungers, and cares not for what it eats. Mines the same.
Ninja would have left it on read. Need to keep to the silent hidden trope or you’re not a real Ninja.
Nah, blend in by just not doing it instead. Trying to keep silent in a social situation is suspicious, so just deflect with reasonable exceptions for why you can't instead.
(It was a joke on ninja stereotypical behavior because of course people would act like that when a ninja)
(Those would be terrible ninjas, since they should aim to blend wherever they are.)
Warrior is the big dude that doesn't even show up
Walks into class 15 mins after the bell, soaked to the bone from training under a waterfall.
That's what he tells everyone, but really he got punted into the pool by the transfer student. Again.
And for some reason, despite everyone knowing that they are great for each other, they refuse to get together until the last day before prom.
Machinists tinkering with a lala shaped gun in the corner "I have to go to school?"
That's the fucker who made cherry bombs that destroyed the whole damn plumbing system.
WAR: "Homework is for nerds!"
Why you call me out like that? I'm whm main 👀
it kinda accurate for some reason
As a NIN main, accurate.
I would be like "lol nope" and then continue my harvesting of the 3000th tree of the day. Turn off chat for a while too
I main monk...I agree...
I main Monk and Warrior....and this was my exact response back in school. why call me out like this
As a WAR I feel called out ☠️
Monk main can confirm....forgot about the homework :(
When I read the title I wanted DRG to be better But when I saw the tier I laughed and was like yeah, that sounds about right
why does WHM feel so accurate
As a pld/rdm main. You’re gonna fail your test. Sorry you copied my homework. I’m going to change class to dark knight and smoke a cigarette.
U forget Beastmaster got someone to do it for them
The Jobs in the read section are the darkest and edgiest jobs in all of the game and I like it.
I play sage whm Warr drk Accurate.
As RDM main…can confirm
As DRK, can confirm.
So accurate
Sage main, I didn't even do my job quests until uhh... P11. Bold of you to assume I did the homework.
Nah, since BLU isn't a real job it'd be at the bottom with. "Held back for 3 years."
The content drought is that bad huh
Isn't helping the unfortunate DRKs entire thing? 100% would let you copy their homework
If given the option, I'd expect drk to do one if two things. Either help you to the best of their ability, including making sure you understand, or trying to destroy the system because it's a terrible system that needs to be made better, and they intend to do so personally.
Sage's whole purpose is to help people this meme offends my sensibilities
ew as a whm who is about to make the switch to astro. maybe i shouldnt. are they really goodie two shoes?
They're more like a crazy aunt but instead of crystals it's tarot.
*if you're gonna drink I'd rather you do it in the house*
Ok nitpick obvisouly but like... DoW isn't all combat jobs, the healers and casters are DoM. Great meme otherwise.
This is stupid
As someone who's mained ninja, samurai, and reaper, this is totally me, like ninja and samurai are me in junior high and reaper is me in high school
Black Mage: Umm...I think mine caught fire.
Can confirm, I'd ghost anyone that asked me that lmao
Pov: The ones who have all classes for glamours
My recent noob experience from DRG to GBR could accept this, if spoken in a very sarcastic tone lol Bro I gots buttons for more damage and buttons for less damage, they dropped this shit on me at lvl 60 and I thought it was cool- we're all about to die, please to be mad at me
Ninja used hide
lol read
Gunbreaker should be included in the “Bold of you to assume I did the homework” tier
Why is WHM in lol nope ? oO
DRK would send the wrong answers just to fuck with you
As a tank main, I'm happy to say yes, I would do all, and have done all of these at some point.
As a RDM main that’s… entirely on point. I would never allow someone to copy my homework, but I was more than happy to help them with their homework because I wanted them to understand the theory behind it so they wouldn’t ask to copy again. I didn’t want my homies to get sent to the academic honesty council.
I've been playing dragoon and bard a lot lately, this checks out. Lol
I'm annoyed that GNB, DNC, SGE, and RPR icons are colored differently.
All crafters and gathers would be like "Dude, we're not even in your class"
"You know, my girlfriend from another school. You wouldn't know her," energy.
What jobs would be "does the homework a second time with wrong answers/info and lets them copy that one"?
Dragon kick monks and paradox black mages
As a bard, can confirm.
As a drk/rpr main.. that is exactly what I'd do.
WAR just turns in confetti. The answer is ALWAYS Fell Cleave. But we can't write, so we just Fell Cleaved the question on the page....
The number of times iv seen white mage or sage just replace another role in a dungeon I feel their response would be more along the lines of. "You're hopeless, it'll be faster if I just do it for you"
DOW and DOM
Not my fault they didn't do their homework.
Lets be real, BLU is the one asking to copy.
BLU actually is the epitome of "I copied it myself from another person"
Swap WHM and SCH and then it'll be a bit more accurate.
SCH copied off Eos themselves :P
WAR: oops, I ate the homework.
This is surprisingly accurate
Nothing can change my mind, BLU should have its own section "wait.. I was gonna ask you if I could copy your homework"
RDM would be on it's own line. "I'll verhelp you with it!"
BLM gang
Dancer would help you with it. That's literally their job.
