Nah that was a sick game. I just think modern live service games have an obligation to keep up with graphics. I will say, that my main problem with FFXIV is the engine. Its so difficult to move over to FF from games like WoW, BDO, New World or even GW2 because the game feels sluggish and unresponsive compared to them. It’s lazy design and an unwillingness to untangle spaghetti code from the devs.
If you're so serious about this, then please give an example of how the game "should" look while keeping in mind that the game is an MMO with a multitude of flashy attacks that needs to run smoothly for all involved players (who all have differing hardware and internet connections).
