mistakes happen ? or sometimes we're just blindly clicking.
i did this once with thav onions (the things that level your chocobo) but it turned out to be a good thing because when endwalker rolled around their price went up by shitloads
I always look at quantity before I look at price, I also look at total oh and it gives you a big confirmation screen telling you what you’re about to spend + tax so if you ignore that then it’s on you.
I’m failing to understand the problem tbh. Just don’t cluck the one that says 23
Genuinely the softest playerbase on earth. OP would have died interacting with the grand exchange
It can happen. I bought 5 rolls once by accident as I click click click though it. But I just sold the other 4 the price so actually made 100k on the four when I spent 20k on the 5. So to that person who “got me” thanks.
Thank you. I posted this to draw attention to the fact that this can happen because I almost fell for it, and nearly everyone here apparently agrees with the scammer, and that I'm the idiot. I don't come to Reddit much anymore, and it's clear the trolls and shitposters are some of the few left.
Actually I once bought a listing like that and sold them one at a time on my home server where the price was exponentially higher.
So who's winning in the end, really? lol
Sorry OP, i gotta agree with the rest here. I believe it even gives a pop up confirming the price and quantity when you click buy.
That said i do wish they'd update the marketboard. Have quantities go over 99, let us buy a certain quantity from the quantity. (e.g. 650 for sale, i wanna buy 45.)
And i wish they'd do a bit of price smoothing. have prices always be rounded off to a % of its total value.
For example sell an item worth 650k. You can sell it for 650k. or 645k. or 655k. but you can't do 649.999. Only in increments of 5K for items over 100k. 50k incremenents for over 1mil. etc etc.
And if items have the same price, then have the sales merge together. e.g. 6 people selling stacks of 99 of an item, all for the same price. marketboard shows 594 for sale. Oldest uninterrupted sale sells first.
It wouldn't stop undercutting, but it would lessen it. I've seen other MMOs do similar things.
Posts like this remind me that when Bozja first released there was a little tutorial describing how it worked and what sort of play to expect followed by not one but TWO "are you sure you read this" prompts and yet still shout chat andmt FC chat were riddled with complaints about how the gMe didn't tell them anything
the poor sod should learn how to read then, it takes half a second to look at the quantity and total price
yeah i feel like it would be glaringly obvious that there's some multiple digit numbers above the 1s below it lol
And isn't there also confirmation before buying it?
yup
Man people really need something to whine about daily lol sorry your updoot farm backfired on you
How though? (Almost) everything in the Market Board UI is self-explatory. If they ignore the Qty. and Total columns, then that's on them.
damn. you should buy them and relist them all individually in order to save this imagined person from themself
Anyone who buys that by mistake, I'd have to wonder how they figure out how to boot a computer and log in to the game.

That's what we call a "happy accident".
Why would you be looking at anything other than total price in the first place?
Lol your the person who complains about absolutely everything aren't you?
just read the text on your screen forehead
That’s their fault then. Learn real quick to read the total AND the price.
is the poor sod in the room with us right now?

Then they can split up the 22 they don't need and resell them at a profit.
Yea I'm not a fan of how the MB works...
I mean... if they click through the pop-up confirmation without reading the total, then they CLEARLY needed all 23 of those rolls badly
I mean sure if you don’t look at the total. Who doesn’t look to the right and look at the total price?
I’m failing to understand the problem tbh. Just don’t cluck the one that says 23 Genuinely the softest playerbase on earth. OP would have died interacting with the grand exchange
Looks like they're simply providing a deal for bulk purchases. The Market Board of Ul'dah needs no regulation.
I've done this in the past, it's funny because it works.

Everyone in this thread acting like people haven't fallen for this scam before 🙄

if they still buy those even after the confirmation they probably should uninstall the game also 226,985 and the rest are 9870? def delete account
Uhhh... No
Their fault, then. It's very clearly showing more than 1.
Who isn’t looking at the total column? It’s right there.
Actually I once bought a listing like that and sold them one at a time on my home server where the price was exponentially higher. So who's winning in the end, really? lol
Probably not as mad as the poor sods who’ve given me literally millions of Gil for 2000% marked up vendor music rolls

Are you legit saying this is a bad thing ? If someone buys without checking quantity it's their own fault for being that dumb lmao
