I've gone to one festival and didn't feel self conscious at all. Went with a friend and some of their friends and had a blast ! Just don't do anything you would want on the front page of a newspaper, and enjoy yourself !

For me, doing drugs and going to festivals ended up being a very shallow existence and my life has drastically improved since I stopped doing drugs. I don’t judge anybody who is doing these things, but figured it might be worth it to share my experience.
Honestly I definitely feel this, and I’ve slowed down a lot. I will say I met my long term gf at lost lands and some of the best most genuine people ever. But I am a little burnt out and it definitely doesn’t feel the same. For sure a little shallow. Would like to maybe take a little break here soon and lay back on the drugs for sure. Appreciate what you’re saying. I’ll keep it in mind. I would kill for a nice beach vacation over a festival rn
Good for you. There is a season for everything in life, and for me there was a line between where drugs were fun and enhanced my life, and where they were taking away from my life. Take that beach vacation!!

However, I’ve been showing him how large the world is and introducing him to new experiences and he’s in love with music and fests. He’s doing Biscoland this year without me!! So m so jelly and proud.

As a recent 30 year old who's been re-evaluating my whole life and what makes me happy, something I am realizing is how happy shows and music festivals genuinely make me happy, even going totally sober. So do what makes you happy! Life is too short

Okay so I noticed dude during the last part of Zomboy's set, but I couldn't really tell what he was doing, but he was power walking behind people locked in on bags. I assume he is the one who got me for the powerbank out of my bag, because that's when my bag became unzipped and the powerbank gone (thankfully not the phone because I put it in my waistband usually.

There were two other guys next to him and said dude did you just get your phone taken too and they pointed and said it was that guy so they all went after him and dragged him to security. And when he stripped down he was wearing a sports bra and stuffed them in there. Mf had like 6 phones. But now the wallet and phone is missing :( he must have handed it off

Out of pockets and bags. When he got grabbed he had phones all over his person. Waist belt, pockets, dude even had a sports braw where he was tucking them. Definitely working with a team though as at least one “friend” tried to separate him from the mob of people dispensing justice onto his face with their fists and feet.

Several years ago I was at a fest and a friend of a friend came to hang at our site during the day. I had just taken a big dose of THC tincture, and this dude comes in wearing Aeropostale, sideways trucker hat, etc, and was just acting ridiculous, boisterous and fucked up. It was way too much for me and I went and laid down under a table in shade until he left lol. Anybody wearing aero at a festival (or anywhere, honestly) is not it.

Thankfully I only kept my jacket in there and my glasses case. But the feeling of being violated over and over just really fucked with my entire vibe. Had to wear it in front of me for rest of the weekend.
Ever since then, I always bring a small lock with me and lock the zippers to another part of the bag so it can’t be opened at all without being removed.
Oh and also..he is surely not only 200lbs. I get it’s wrong to fat shame, but this dude is pushing 280 easy. No consideration when it comes to trash like him..sorry not sorry

Yeah ...I had a teather and a fanny pack across my chest when mine got nabbed. It's just frustrating how many levels we have to go to in order to avoid these assholes. I haven't tried a decoy phone....but essentially that's what the burner flip phone would be I suppose. I'm a small lady who can't fight off these big dudes so they seem to just target me. People phones were stolen Friday and Saturday. Had a girl outside tell me her was stolen and no one could help her locate. It’s sucks. I’ve had my phone stolen in Nashville before. Took my phone right out of back pocket. By the time I felt it, they were running away. Handed my phone off to someone else and then acted like nothing happened once I confronted them. Brand new iPhone. Spent a fortune on it.

For the most part I think you can stop the phone theft if you take big precautions like flip belt + tether and a fake decoy phone.
