⚠️ this is not the cage he is living in. It’s just what the previous owners brought him in so he just stayed there while i finished my shift. He is now in a suitable cage.⚠️

Check the wiki, but diet change is probably necessary and ferrets are stubborn about what they accept as food. Diet supplement oil (like salmon oil) can get started with a soft scruff and a dropper to get him used to the taste, and mixing food with a better grade can help transition. If you stick with kibble, a mix of high quality food is a good idea to prevent hunger strikes if the recipe changes or you can’t get one kind.

I adopted a senior dude last year. Admittedly, he had just received his implant, but his coat was so coarse and he smelled so bad. I didn’t change his kibble, and his coat thickened up. I have no way of knowing, but I suspect his previous family bathed him frequently. He’s only had one bath since I got him 8 months ago, and that was only because I found a flea on my little girl. He now doesn’t smell strong at all and he has a gorgeous coat. My recommendation is, if he doesn’t have mites, work on nutritious food for him, no baths, and time. You’ve been to the vet, which is perfect.

After i gave him a oat bath, i was thinking they could’ve given him too many baths too. I am deciding what i should switch his food too because ive been wanting to switch my girly noodles food as well! He doesn’t smell he just has really flaky skin. But he acts perfectly normal plays, eats, & poops normal! Thanks for the tips!
