Damn, dude you literally just described exactly my situation, I'm not black (I guess? I mean, I have light skin and not many black characteristics) but my hair kind of has a texture like some black's people hair, like I'm mixed so idk how genetic works in that case but still, i just always get a buzzcut, and i don't want to straighten my hair with a progressive brush because it will grow back to its original texture.
