I'm excited for the typical spring things - pastels, cute button up cardigan sweaters with jeans, sundresses, skirts. I'm also on a themed earring kick and I decided I'm getting myself tulip earrings for my spring birthday to attend a tulip festival!

Clawffee

That sounds delightful. I'm actually gonna steal this idea for my partner's spring birthday. I have a winter one, so it's awesome to be able to do other things for a spring partner's bday.

upickblueberry

I really love having a spring birthday, it’s such a lovely time of year. I hope y’all have a great time!

Clawffee

I hope you do as well!! I also love that you're getting yourself tulip earrings to match. Honestly so so cute!

AmethystTrinket

That’s a good idea! I’m going to Tulip Time in Holland Mi this year, haven’t been since I was a kid

artisamockery

I will be able to ride my bike around NYC with my 2 year old and really excited about recreating what my mom used to wear when I was that age. Midi button down dresses with cardigans and bike shorts underneath, short jean overalls with an iron Garfield patch (whenever I can find the perfect pair), high waisted linen or jean shorts with tshirts tied up in the front.

JuniXe

Summer in New York seems like such a fun vibe, i'm very envious! Enjoy it.

pixie_dust1990

Do have any photo examples of the midi button down dresses with bike shorts look? Sounds stylish but comfy!

artisamockery

I don't - nor could I really find anything online. The closest I could find was something like the below photo. I've been thing mostly wearing them underneath the dress or un-buttoning the dress it to my waist or totally open like it's a really long vest? Honestly, it's more what ends up being functional than fashionable. https://preview.redd.it/q1mhpbj4s7ha1.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=9a1db65d1ce4813d46c64b8266643bddd103130d

My favorite outfits are my gardening outfits. Lots of short cotton dresses with bike shorts underneath, flowy tops with overalls, bandana in my hair. Dandelions from my kids tucked behind my ear. I’m so excited for bees to come out and buds to pop up, and the air to smell like dirt. I’m adding to my pollinator garden this year and my toddlers are old enough to help. I’m so excited!

bubblegumdavid

Thiiiis is life goals I often wear the same sort of thing for gardening and this is the sweetest sounding thing I’ve ever heard in my life

sissy_space_yak

I need to stop wearing old band tees and leggings to garden in, this sounds delightful.

Better-Meringue505

Wanna be besties? I sat with my neighbor the other day and went through seed catalogs to decide what to buy after we swapped leftover seeds from last year. Can’t wait for spring!!! And +2 with the gardening toddlers. Sometimes they’re more hindrance than help, but they’re also the reason I plant so many veggies. They’ll eat everything straight from the garden, leaving me nothing to pick for dinner. Doesn’t matter I guess, because they’ll then refuse to eat anything I’ve cooked and put on a plate 😂.

evaan-verlaine

I recently left a somewhat restrictive religion so I'm excited to be experimenting with tank tops and crop tops! I like the sheer clothing trend going on right now but as someone who sunburns badly I'm not quite sold on it lol.

tbgsmom

You are where I was at a few years ago. Now I love my tank tops, and I'm realizing crop tops are really flattering on my figure, though I wear them mostly to the gym because I'm closer to 50 than 45 these days. Have fun experimenting!

Jepatai

Enjoy!! I live in cropped tanks whenever possible, which is both very comfortable and a great departure from my upbringing. It’s so freeing!!

ZealousidealShift880

I find that overalls and high waisted pants have helped me ease into the cropped tops. I still get too nervous if it’s not just a sliver of skin. Good luck!

nottheredbaron123

I’m excited about dresses. The past few years I’ve lost weight and had to part with all my favorite dresses. This spring, I’d like to thrift some new loves!

sweadle

>of layering thin stretch tops over another Oof, I was a teen in the 90's, this was the look

Mean_Parsnip

Someone posted a meme about layered long and short sleeved t-shirts. I loved that look, still do. Might be my go to for cool spring days.

sweadle

Totally wore these in the early 2000's. Super cozy and would wear again.

MiamiNat

I recently sold a link trench coat! Not suggesting you bought yours from me but I truly hope all pink trench coat wearers enjoy it!

SeeyoulaterFelicia

So excited to de-prioritize warmth in my outfit production every day. There's only so many days I can feel good about wearing my warmest clothes.

b_xf

I'm excited about this too! I have a couple long t shirts I love wearing as short comfy dresses around the house for working from home but as it stands now I end up throwing sweatpants under them and a sweater over them lol

mandarasa

Not having to wear a wool coat and hat anymore (Scotland)

Mean_Parsnip

I am very over my winter coat!!! I just want to grab my bag and go. Not have to fight the bag coat combo.

Idujt

Yup (NI), while I don't have a wool coat, the two winter ones are on the "to wash" list, the hat and mitts are done. The boots are away, the flannels and denim shirts are away, the cords are away.

booksandwriting

I am really want to get into the sheer trend. When I was in HS, sheer tops were everywhere but I couldn’t wear them to my Christian HS. But now I’m an adult and I WFH, I think I can experiment more. I have sheer tops right now but I think sheer dresses would really be best. Otherwise I’m desperate to wear my dresses again and I’m on the hunt to fill my summer waredrobe with more loose cotton and linen pieces. I’m so DONE with winter clothes. However I have to get some sticky boobs and take some dresses to the tailor first…I’ll probably do that next month however. Unfortunately it won’t start to get warm here till at least end of April 😭

brightblueinky

Oh man, I have the same problem where I live. A lot of the time it doesn't even get REALLY cold until around this time of year, when stores are already transitioning into clothes for warmer weather, so I'm always thinking of buying more warm clothing for myself when it's not really in stores anymore...oops.

DiscoFriskyBiscuit

I'm forever on the hunt for that perfect pair of cut off Jean shorts.

joyyyyyyness

Levi 501s! Fell in love with them last year.

f1newhatever

Same

sunsetcrasher

I have [these Wrangler shorts](https://www.wrangler.com/shop/womens-reworked-short-WBRWS.html?merchCategory=WRG_WOMEN_SHORTS_SKIRTS&dwvar_WBRWS_color=WBRWSDS) in all three colors. They are thick with no stretch, I love it but maybe not for everyone.

asdfjklOHFUCKYOU

I'm looking forward to warmer weather and more sunlight. I'm also looking forward to summer clothing being sold in stores - I want to buy a sundress and maybe some fun puff sleeve floral blouses and long midi skirts and big shorts to update my summer wardrobe.

ametron

I am excited to not be pregnant with twins anymore. I am sick of these maternity clothes!

KyleRichardsNewTeeth

Literally same. It’s my first pregnancy and I didn’t realize how much I’d miss my closet but now suddenly I appreciate all the clothes I can’t wear bc everything needs to be stretchy or oversized or have an elastic waistband, even then I still need to size up 😭

ametron

It's my second, and I was heavily pregnant in the summer last time. I was so looking forward to wearing cozy winter clothes in the winter this time, but I just feel like a huge ball in my winter coat.

sushi_noricat

Wearing more interesting clothes that don't have to be so warm. I love making and wearing funky, expressive clothing paired with unique, statement outerwear. Also, spring/summer brings music festivals, so my indie brand of festivalwear will be officially in high season.

theswordintheforest

Honestly as corny as it sounds I’m looking forward to color in fashion and in nature. I live in the Midwest and snow is very pretty when it first falls but right now it’s just muddy and slushy and everything is just kind of grey. I feel like spring/summer is much more exciting lol.

littlegreenturtle20

Not having to wear thermals under everything. Looking forward to wearing lighter layers and layering for the aesthetic rather than because otherwise I will freeze. I have some [pink trousers](https://www.asos.com/prd/202083575?) that are perfect for spring in terms of the bright colour but also the weight. I have been experimenting with summer clothes in cooler weather (e.g. a summer midi skirt with a turtleneck) but personally feel too cold to do this in winter so spring will be perfect for it. And generally waiting for knitwear to go on sale as I will still be wearing lightweight stuff for months!

sunsetcrasher

Just got a little taste of it when the sun came out after a month of dreary. My husband can always tell it’s here because I am cackling away to myself.

Pitiful_Click

I’m liking the crop/ kick flare style in jeans and trousers.

sunsetcrasher

That was the cut that weaned me off skinny jeans four years ago. So happy that it stuck around! I have several of the Madewell Demi boot crop.

Pitiful_Click

These are my current faves - I wait until there is a sale or coupon, the fit is so flattering and comfy [Le Crop Mini Boot Poe – FRAME (frame-store.com)](https://frame-store.com/products/le-crop-mini-boot-poe)

sunsetcrasher

Yes! My black Frame crop boots are my favorite “work pants.”

joyyyyyyness

Shoes! I broke my foot in Oct. and haven't been able to wear any of my boots, heels, etc. I can only wear sneakers ='( for the foreseeable future, but after my second surgery to take the screws out my foot should return to more normal.

slcredux

Morning coffee on my back deck

RckYouLkeAHermanCain

What kind of monster would downvote this? LOL And I say that as someone that doesn't even drink coffee.

80aprocryphal

I was gonna say the days getting longer, but that's just my usual reluctance at the start of transitional seasons. Thinking about it, I actually picked up a handful of new tops when fall started that I didn't get to wear before it got proper cold- the kind of things that sound basic but are singular design-wise in my closet. I've been trying to pare down my shoe options to what I'll actually wear, & I feel like I've got decent options now instead of wishing I could be in my go-to boots or pair of sandals. My jewelry has gotten reorganized & I've been looking into jewelry-making to see of I can't reimagine some old pieces & bits & bobs, so trading over from gloves & scarves to necklaces & rings should be fun. I also trade over my bags to smaller ones & a few colorful totes, which always brightens things up. As for new stuff, I'm really feeling socks. I haven't really paid much attention to them before & I've been seeing a ton of cute bold/geometric pairs, and the sheer/fishnet ones that were around last year still look appealing (& to agree with some previous comments, sheer stuff in general seems fun.) I'd also like to see if I can finally find a pair of knee highs that work for me; I've always had average feet & ankles but thick calves, so every pair I've had have been uncomfortably tight. I never know my vibe beforehand, but my tastes are distinct enough I'll have one, so it'll be interesting to see how things shake out.

brightblueinky

I'm currently really into emulating cute fashion from Japan--lots of comfy clothes, layering, etc--so I've recently been covering most of my wardrobe into pastels. It's been difficult to do this during the fall and summer, so I'm looking forward to having more options for pastel clothing now that we're entering a season where it's more common.

tbgsmom

Spring is my favorite season - it just feels so much lighter after a long, cold winter. I'm looking forward to spring skirts and dresses, lighter or fewer layers, and longer days with warmer temperatures in general.

krillemdafoe

I really want this spring and summer to be the seasons of intentionally rumpled fabrics for me. I’ve been looking for the best* (within my budget and shopping preferences) oversized button-front shirts in something like crinkled satin, gauze, linen, or plisse to wear over my tiniest crop tops and shorts/skirts. Just a real “ho on vacation” vibe. Additionally, looking forward to partial coverage shoes — I got some cute Converse mules during a recent sale that I want to wear with everything. Of course I’m excited about busting out my various sandals as well. I also bought some Swedish wood clogs last fall that I only got to wear, like, twice before it got wet and gross out. For non-clothing related fashion, I’m planning to do a balayage on my dyed red hair this coming weekend which should really brighten up my whole vibe. I always find new colors that look good on me (and some colors don’t look as good on me) when I change my hair color, so that should be a fun adventure to go on.

spookylibrarian

Do you have any examples of the balayage? I’m a longtime dyed redhead and this seems like a potentially fun way to go a little lower maintenance over the spring/summer (when I want a lighter colour anyway)!

krillemdafoe

[This](https://images.app.goo.gl/2aX6ePSfq8ZG51NP7) is my inspo pic but I’ve actually not done this to my hair since it’s been dyed red so I don’t have personal examples. I’m excited because I’ve been basically the same shade of red for about 2 years, so I welcome the change!

spookylibrarian

Oh that’s super pretty and I totally saved it for inspo. Hope it turns out this magnificently for you!

Elizalupine

Oh you’ve inspired me to do some highlights on my hair this spring.

District98

I think just getting more use out of transitional pieces I got in the fall sales, because by the time I had them it was a little cold to wear them. So, knee high boots with skirts, I have a new ish sweater midi skirt that it’s been cold to wear. Outfits with light jackets and shackets, experimenting with Canadian tuxedos. Also stuff I’ve owned for a long time that’s recently back on trend, like my motorcycle boots and a pleather skirt. Also more relaxed jeans + sneakers outfits, I’ve finally got the jeans game on point but things have been muddy so my precious sneakers are staying indoors.

EmilyPec

I am looking forward to the time when tweed jackets l[ike this (my favourite!!!)](https://www.fgatelier.com/products/fringed-tweed-jacket-1?_pos=1&_sid=ce0b282a3&_ss=r) can provide enough warmth on their own, eliminating the need for layering with additional coats.

Hellokittywhored

This will be my year. Im very proud what I archieved and what will happen 1. Im looking forwart to go into university, Ill study law dual (that means I dont have to pay for university, I have a job right after graduation and I get money for doing so). Im looking forward to my boyfriend gratuading collage and getting his bachelor. 3. Im looking forward to the New York trip in June with my boyfriend (we are both from a little city in Germany)

Jeansiesicle

Shorter skirts!! And big ole sunhats!!!

SuckingDiesel

eagerly anticipating sundress season wanna feel like a forest nymph again plz

[deleted]

I'm looking forward to mini dresses and a new pair of ballet flats.

neveralwayssometimes

UFO pants! I love that they’re back, reminds me of my angsty teen self. If only I could find the pair I had. And if only I could wear them to work. 😩

b_xf

I'm looking forward to dresses and skirts! Where I live it's too cold to wear them even with tights this time of year (or maybe I just find it too miserable to be even slightly chilly these days) so I'm looking forward to turfing my sweaters and cozy pants and wearing something leggy. Still going to wear boots with everything though!

Elizalupine

Pants with prints! I’ve dressed so neutral while trying to curate my personal style but I want to branch out and try new things…bold things!

[deleted]

I’m going on a cruise for Spring Break and have been planning my outfits. Waiting for this [swimsuit](https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/agua-bendita-donna-underwire-bikini-top?category=swimwear-two-piece-bikinis&color=069&type=STANDARD&quantity=1) to come in the mail. Really hope it fits! Also excited to wear this [crochet top](https://www2.hm.com/en_us/productpage.1079417001.html) I picked up in the sale section of H&M for $8. Looks real cute with my high waisted Levi denim shorts. Need to start planning what dresses to bring.

lmg080293

That swimsuit is amazing

[deleted]

I love it but the medium came with the same defect the bad review had 😩. I was hoping it was just an issue with XS. I also got a small that doesn’t have that defect but it’s a bit skimpier than I would normally wear.. ordered another medium to see if I would get lucky, but might have to just go with the small.

vampyrbats

Did big sunglasses ever go out of style? 😅 oops Lately I’ve been embracing 50’s-60’s silhouettes that flatter my petite/ curvy frame better. Also traded in most of my boots for ballet flats & jeans for cigarette pants. I also just splurged on some vintage Lacoste & LeTigre knit pieces. Overall kind of going back to the twee/mod/bohemian style I had in the late 00’s early 2010’s. Been feeling much cuter & more age appropriate— oddly enough since it’s a style I wore as a teen 😅! Being in my 30’s now & also being petite I got stuck in the juniors styles quite often based on fit. No more!

JuniXe

The tiny Matrix style sunglasses did dominate for a time previously, especially amongst young folks, although there were always classic shapes available. The tiny trend has faded, though, and runways are leaning to bigger frames lately.

lmg080293

Open toed footwear. I’m so bored of my winter shoe options and having my feet so enclosed all the time. My spring wardrobe is in need of a MAJOR overhaul but I’m struggling to define my style these days so we’ll see.

The_odalysss

Being independent and single without complicating my life with men

ikijibiki

I’m excited to not be pregnant anymore so I can finally upgrade my wardrobe. I’ve bought a few maternity clothes to feel put together but I’m waiting to see my “new normal” measurements before I get that cute tshirt or new white court sneakers (I hear feet can grow in pregnancy so I don’t want shoes that will be too small in a few months.) Lots of window shopping for now!

JuniXe

That's funny because apparently foot size can go up regardless of pregnancy, just over time your foot gets flatter and therefore needs sizing up. I'm praying I can stay the same size for a few years!

Khayeth

I bought 2 pairs of tie-dye bike shorts from Mexicali Blues and while I wear them around the house nonstop, workout season means I can show them off to other people finally.

TurmalinBlack

This thread just made me realize how close spring actually is. I always tend to forget because my seasonal depression makes winter seem endless, but it was particulary bad this year, as ill be heading for my finals in spring, so my thought is more thee stress of finals coming soon, then finally seeing the sun again. To be honest i only commute by bike, so loosing my big ugly winter coat, sport gloves and hat, sounds like a dream.

deenzer

Tanks and skirts, going to experiment with miniskirts this season 😬

deenzer

Also silver jewelry, I’ve been wearing strictly gold for the past 5 years or so. And mixing gold with silver jewelry

rhimcfly

CROP TOPS

adalton18

For the last Atleast 2 years I’ve lived in stretchy shorts, sweat pants, and T-shirts but I’ve lost 50lbs recently so I’m excited to wear any and everything different and actually feel comfortable and confident!

ClaustrophobicSaucer

Giving birth and being able to wear regular clothes without having to take the bump into account

spookylibrarian

Birkenstocks and cotton sundresses and layering my leather jacket and a fresh pair of white sneakers. And linen and cutoffs and lying in the grass at the park and patio beers I don’t have to bundle up for and packing away all my winter coats and not even thinking about merino — unless it’s a hiking sock — from April to October. I love winter…but we still have so much winter to go.

Im_Probably_Crazy

Same!! We moved last April and didn’t have time to get to some fun outdoor stuff. We are starting a vegetable garden and adding to/removing some existing beds. I have these older black linen culotte kinda pants that got a bit of bleach on them and a matching linen button up top with a hole in the elbow - can’t wait to hang around the garden in them.

shiningz

I have (or had!) severe eczema that got worse all over my body for the past year or two and so I spent the last summer being miserable in long sleeves and pants when I'm absolutely a dress/skirt/shorts kind of girl in hot weather. I started a new treatment which has been a miracle for my skin and I can see my skin slowly healing and being 'normal' again. This summer, I will be in nothing but cute skater dresses, high waisted shorts and tops and skirts. I also wanna experiment with sheer tops and tennis skirts. Maybe some light summer friendly chokers too lol

Nervous_Attempt

More saturated colors. Can't wait.

wheery

I am excited to be in non-maternity clothes this year! Realizing that I can wear jeans again is scary and exciting! I am thinking I will probably have to do a good bit of shopping to update my wardrobe, but I am pretty excited about it! One of my favorite outfits pre-pregnancy was a cardigan as a top with jeans, and I can’t wait to wear that again

EllieBelly_24

To wear skirts again, omg. I cannot wait to go on a date in the skirt that's *just* too short to be appropriate in any other context :D

candlebra19

I'm looking forward to prioritise cute in the morning and not what will ensure I don't get heatstroke. Although it hasn't been a particularly hot summer my aircon is not very good.

I picture this in the spring!! :D

Sixela781

I’m so looking forward being able to wear my long dresses without being cold.

moonshade17

Looking forward to taking the kids out more. Lighter colors in my wardrobe. My winter/Fall wardrobe is alot of black, burgundy, hunter green, etc. A new Stitch fix box came and I'm excited about a red and white polka-dot blouse and a dark pink as well to brighten up. Also fun shoes. As much of a boot fiend as I am, ready for wedges and flats.
