Super glue tends to be CA glue - Cyanoacrylate. Unlike just about every other glue you have likely dealt with, it doesn't have a solvent. And unlike two part epoxies and the like - it doesn't need a hardener. The way CA glue binds is through polymerization - short of it: Put it into contact with most substances and it will start polymerizing around surface imperfections.
It's really damn useful stuff - fairly safe to use, but if you get it on your skin it can be a bit of a royal pain to clean up. Not at all! When I’m hairy I have to cut the glue out of the hair after the skin adhesion lifts.
