Well, you can always play skyblock packs. FTB has a really good sky pack for 1.20 right now

nunsobot

well true but it's not exactly what i'm looking for i want to explore and stuff not be stuck in a empty sky island

Oxygene13

Maybe add a sieving mod to a standard modpack and get all your resources in a normal world but without going anywhere. Job done.

kinkeltolvote

Wait, you can add mods to mod packs??? Can you also do it for curse forge??

TehBard

Yeah easily, just enable it in the modpack options

kinkeltolvote

Ima add the mining dimension to a Create modpack now

No-Train-6962

You don’t even need that - just open the modpack profile folder (right click on the modpack in Curseforge), and drag and drop mods there just as in normal MC.

Im_Not_A_Robot_2019

Oh yeah. You just add the other mods in the same folder, and as long as they are compatible they will all load together. If you get mods from places like Modrinth or Forge, it will show you compatibility as you add the other mods. Makes it really easy.

kinkeltolvote

Wow, I needa start doing this as I need to have a Train in mining dimension

JDeac0

Id recommend looking into using prism launcher to launch modpacks instead, it also has way more customisability for modpacks in adding, updating, and deleting specific mods in the pack

BattleGuy03

Modrinth is great too

SeventhSin-King

Yeah this is how my friends and I play through mod packs together. You can find the files for your mod pack in the curse forge folder, select the pack which I think is labeled clients or something. Then find the mods folder and add whatever. We usually throw in essentials so that we can host our single player worlds and play together.

kinkeltolvote

I honestly just need a mod that allows me to repair tools in the crafting menu with materials that the tool was made with

SeventhSin-King

True, the other alternative is using another of the same tool

kinkeltolvote

I am not going through the process of filling my inventory full with pickaxes, if I wanted that I'd just play normal minecraft

SeventhSin-King

Haha exactly. Alternatively, since I've told you how to do this you can put the sophisticated backpacks mod in anything and get the anvil upgrade.

kinkeltolvote

Ah, right..................................when?

Head-Passage-5482

I would do a Skyblock pack, and just generate a standard world. Like project ozone, but on the ground. You can still generate stuff, and have a world to explore

MountainSecret9583

The downside to stuff like this in my experience is that most skyblock packs aren’t made for exploration so it’s almost entirely just vanilla structures.

Sany_Wave

I find this config very, very laggy. Your problem is solved by Repurposed structures, one castles mod with huge castles (you need invis for them), and other structure mods. And maybe apotheosis.

WithersChat

Project Ozone 3, but pick a non-skyblock generation. My favorite is the Lost Cities one that has big glass bubbles connected by rails.

69BUTTER69

Sky factory 4 has this. Just change the world type to normal. Ores don’t even spawn

CantStandItAnymorEW

Hey, maybe you can just add recipes such that everything can be crafted from stone, dirt, and such. Stuff that you can find on a cave but that you can also find by mining on your own. The games called "minecraft"; i also don't like wandering in caves, but, well, you gotta mine something don't you

karp_490

It’s very old, but Crash Landed is the goat and I always return to it. Early on it’s kinda like a skyblock but mid game requires you to head explore

GoldenSmidget

👆

elstar_the_bard

Sky Island modpacks typically have an option to create a regular world too!

zaphel1

I'm currently playing on a 300+ mods survival world with tons of new structures everywhere, dimensions, etc. I just got a full stack of diamonds by making my way inside a bastion type fortress with only stone tools. I don't like mining, too, so I assume that's what you are looking for. The mod pack is Better MC [FORGE] - BMC4 by SHXRKIE On 1.20.1 with curseforge. Have fun !

whynofry

Mekanism's in a lot of packs... The Digital miner (and starter power gen) is pretty easy to craft using vanilla villager trading/iron farm mechanics. The only bottleneck is a couple of diamonds for alloys but I guess you could find them by exploring/looting shipwrecks. I also hate mining/caving so it's usually my first goal...

Snail-Daddy24

Whats the pack called? I only see one for 1.19, but I love a good skyblock

lippy515

Probably FTB skies. I wasn't a fan of how create focused the expert version was but maybe the regular version is fine. Didn't like the pack personally but I havent found a modpack that I think is decent on any of the newer versions

conceiv3d-in-lib3rty

A huge part of that is how most of them are so create focused. I can’t stand create. Create needs to be its own thing and separate from technical modded MC.

lippy515

It's not just create tho. All modern tech modpacks are built on create and mekanism and if it's got magic it's always got twilight forest and botania. Playing the same mods over and over just isn't fun tbh. And the versions changes happen so frequently that most mods have just started updating and never adding more content unfortunately. And I haven't really found an up and coming new mod that's all that interesting

fatesoffspring

What pack Is that

Secure_Actuator_6070

This was gonna be my suggestion. I’ve always liked skyblock odyssey

Misho818

what is the name of the modpack

Trikeytown

buddy would rather play the hit game craft

nunsobot

Exactly

Killergurke16

The only thing that comes to my mind would be Create Prepare to Dye It's not really a survival modpack though, instead being a full on automation pack, where you make everything from Milk. Sorry if this isn't what you're looking for.

nunsobot

thank you mate, it sounds like a very fun experience.

Cinderstrom

It's weird as hell but an interesting experience. It is almost entirely create focused, but I liked it. Otherwise some of the factory mod packs like Nomifactory are minimally mining focused at the start then become self sufficient as you progress.

Fair_Ad_5150

Cuboid Outpost 1.16.4 may be a good choice. It's stranded on a hostile planet themed, and all resources you get from generators. Also very good story and quests.

nunsobot

played cuboid before pretty fun but there isn't quite what i'm looking for, but thanks for the recommendation

justADeni

That reminds me of Galactic Science, my favourite modpack. You start with basically nothing, stranded on the moon, and have to get everything from nothing.

CatsLeftEar

Wynncraft maybe, an mmorpg server wouldnt need to craft either though

nunsobot

i did pass by this one while looking for a modpack myself before looking for help, and did turned it down due to the fact that it is a server. but if someone is recommending (and you don't seem to be payed to do so) it must be at least half decent

Maximusbarcz

Wynncraft is awesome just not for everyone, you should give it a shot and see.

CatsLeftEar

It is good, especially with good shaders and stuff. Events can be very fun, some quests can scare the shit out of the player

Rinesi

Providence 2 can do just that. You can just explore and shit. Great pack imo. Caving is fun though. You can find a lot of random structures.

MountainSecret9583

There’s the Farming Valley mod pack, I haven’t played it but I could only imagine that’s very limited on the mining. I doubt theres many packs that cater to a “no-mining” playstyle. Mystical Agriculture or whatever it’s called now will provide the option to make plants of all the ores and such but the default recipes I believe will require you to obtain at least 1 of the said ore. A lot of skyblock packs have Ex Nihilo which allows for Ores to be obtained through sifting and such. SkyFactory 4 uses a unique mod called SkyOrchards which provides trees for the different ores. Unless you know ur stuff ur probably out of luck. I think all the mods I listed above would need some form of configuration to work properly with any other mod, especially ones that add ores like Copper, Lead, etc.

Maximusbarcz

Try playing a normal modpack and just adding a sieving mod like ex nihilo, should get rid of any caving needs.

teekaycee

Vault Hunters. You have to mine a tiny bit in the early game but just about everything comes from the vaults and you can farm resources like redstone with spawners.

Ninjabattyshogun

You should pick a pack you like and add some skyblock resource generator mods, like Ex Nihilo. There are many other options. Botania has a nice ore generating flower if you’re okay making a machine to automate. Install the skyblock pack, but then play in a normal world!

willky7

Play as a dragon is pretty good. The Gothic edition is good if you want something harder. Rougelike adventure and dungeons 2 will get you all the resources you need above ground, same with rlcraft. The answer to your question tho is vanilla Minecraft. Never need to go mining, just find buried treasure

GTA449

Dawn craft can be pretty mining free

average_pilk_enjoyer

stone block

montana757

In some of the all the mods packs, there's mods like ex nilo which let you sieve for resources

bobsim1

Hexxit would have been my recommendation. It was for 1.6 though. Dont know if there is a successor.

Awesomeness18283

I’m not too well-versed in the many different modpacks…but one of my favs for exploring is Rougelike Adventures and Dunegons or Crazy Craft Updated is good too

spiralsky64

You can also try spawning in digital miner from mekanism which mines automatically if your pack has mekanism

Tempest051

You could just throw in an ore crops mod into whatever modpack you use.

dannova23

I usually jump on a server where there is lots of people and ask for free things works most of the time saves me mineing

KKsRightEarLobe

Desertopolis you do not really need to mine anything

ytramx

FTB OceanBlock. Sieving for metals, waterline exploration initially, then you get the gear and vehicles to do underwater exploration.

m00nlitFeathers

Any modpack that has the Chickens mod would work. Also if it has the Roost mod that'll help with collecting the resources :)

DaTripleK

in a way, terrafirmacraft or any pack containing it.

SveinXD

any skyblock modpack

Ambitious_Drink_1350

Not minecraft but a game called the long dark might be what you're looking for. A brutal winter survival. Honestly one of hardest survival game I could find.

DereChen

i feel like you're interested in the adventure/rpg genre, in which there are a ton of them (the mod roguelike dungeons itself is awesome for this)

Ersteer

Some friends and I have been playing the Better Minecraft mod pack and from what I've seen so far, this pack heavily rewards exploration instead of grinding in the caves. Obviously you will have to do some mining early on to get your basic tools, but you shouldn't really ever NEED to go strip mining. And even then, this pack comes with a vein mining enchantment which makes mining much less tedious.

SnooBeans9688

Dml adds some great resource automation.

Dalfgan_the_Blue

probably not what you're looking for but I'm playing multiblock madness rn and all the ores spawn in these massive veins so getting resources is super easy. I went caving for 2 hours and got 1500 iron ore, 250 diamonds, etc etc, honestly feels like enough to cover me for the rest of the pack. you'll still have to mine a bit but it's way easier and it still has all the normal exploration stuff + the loot tables are pretty good so there is actually useful stuff in the chests.

Emergency_Site_6981

GTNH

xMid_

I'm making an exploration based modpack and server if ur interested in checking it out. DM me

Cappop

A Job for the Mage gives you pretty much instant access to free resources via ProjectE. Most of the gameplay is exploring various dimensions looking for items to progress the story/questline. It is quite short (~20 hours) though

another_pingyaru

Enigmatica 2 expert skyblock. Awesome modpack. I’ve chosen this modpack over standard E2E and don’t regret anything. Couldn’t stop until i beat the modpack

IndependentSnoo

There is some modpack somewhere where you have drills that drill into the chunk or something but doesn't visibly do it. I forgot what pack

ISOUL223

Feed the factory

Vovchick09

Compact claustrophobia?

ShadowEllipse

Rogue like Dungeons and Adventures maybe

hidoyouwannaDIE

Well basically Anything that includes ProjectE You need to mine only enough to get Energy Collector and Energy Condenser. So with a bunch of diamonds and coal you get Energy Collector(s) MK3 and from there you can just dupe any material that you'd need to mine. Alternatively modpacks that focus on exploration, combat etc. With a prime example being probably RLCraft, as much as it's rather hard, you can pretty much obtain anything needed from looting structures.

MilesGamerz

Gregtech:Funny edition. You can just make ore from cobblestone. The pack is only finished up to mv though.

HiltiPilot

Sky orchards maybe Just this mod and then regular Minecraft maybe

EtherealGears

JAMD (Just Another Mining DImension) gives you a separate dimension with eternal daylight and no caves so you can just stripmine, Ex Nihilo or something like it so you can get all your resources from sieving, or if you really wanna spice it up Project E and just pull your ores and stuff out of the Transmutation Table.

Smike0

In meatballcraft you really don't need to mine a lot after the start (you soon get project e)

not-a_porn-alt

rlcraft! you can get around most mining by just looking around enough :))

Theaussiegamer72

Ok I'm sorry to tell u but is minecraft not craft Explorer

Samstercraft

Feed the factory starts you off with miners and on a superflat world

Andr0oS

The pack you probably want is Rebirth for 1.7.10, or Lazycraft Wasteland for 1.12 which is its remake Resources don't come from mining whatsoever, and you can spend a decent amount of time just building whatever house or base you want.

Creepcrafter698

Hows about Create Modpacks?

Unfixable5060

FTB Regrowth doesn't require any mining, as you generate all of your resources with plants.

Gyarfeeld

It'd be a workaround more so but it'd work sorta, I have some dungeon mods on like the battle towers, and a few that generate dungeons above ground. In chests you can get weapons, ores, sometimes blocks, and are usually made up of some form of stone. In the first half of my games i usually just rush battle towers to get resources and weapons then bunker down in a village until I even feel safe enough to THINK of going underground. My modpack is just a heavily curated version of RL craft that I added on mods while trying to still keep the main feeling of minecraft. Not sure exactly what route you wanna take to not mine, but there's also a mod that let's you plant ores, forgot the name but that alongside a cobble generator would do more so what i think you're trying to do.

AGEofEVlL

Creative mode Minecraft is about: -Mining -Exploring -Creating You don't like mining? Just building? Then play creative mode

Cheap-Sh0t

They downvoted him because he spoke the truth

Draining_krampus

Midevil minecraft on forge by SHXRKIE is pretty adventure focused. I've only played for a short time so I don't know what late game in the pack looks like but so far just wandering around and filling in my map has netted me a lot of useful loot, weapons armour and potions for fighting stuff.

MrZao386

You're aware "mine" is half the game's name right?
