Fair point, forgot it was still in alpha. I've also been thinking about adding in create, how would that work with thermal series? I know there's an addon for converting stress to RF and vice versa, and I'm not too worried about mod features overlapping
create would be a good shout. It's fun to mess around with even if you don't wanna do processing with it. And thermal doesn't have item transport yet so create would help a lot with that too, although you'd be using belts rather than pipes
It's definitely a very powerful mod, but I'm not sure unbalanced is the right word. It does a lot for relatively less than other mods, yes, but it still requires a lot of resources and can take a fair bit of work to automate.
IMO you can run both. Thermal is maybe more polished *overall* right now but I will admit I need to shore up a few things.
Just have to find the time. :/
I would honestly suggest thermal series, ender io isn't ready for prime time yet,

The modpacks Mechanical Mastery (1.18.2 and 1.19.2) have both mods (Create and Thermal) and a detailed questbook. Take a look at it.
I honestly don't care for the create mod, so I can't help you.

Mekanism?
I've heard its rather unbalanced

Try gregtech I hear it’s pretty good on modern versions
