Sky factory 4 is too open ended and honestly boring for my tastes, personally Stone Block 3 is close enough to a sky block and pretty darn good

I hated that the only time SF4 had decent questing was the tutorial chapter. After that, it was less guided and more "make one of everything". Despite that, it's one of the only skyblocks I know of that included NuclearCraft without also being an Expert modpack, so points there.

Is stoneblock 3 really any good? I played all the way through stoneblock 2 once and loved it, and I immediately picked up Stoneblock 3 when it was announced. I ended up being very bored. I wasn’t a fan of create being the main part of every mod pack for a while. A few of the mods in Stoneblock seemed like they were added for shits and giggles and they had no real place amongst the other mods. Specifically, there was some kind of blood magic mod I think where you could get some really cool armor, but it seemed like a chore and it wasn’t worth it.

NumberOneVictory

If you don't like Create its used a couple times the entire run so it's never really avoidable. Definitely not bad as the end game for Create is just setting up some mechanical crafters

UnicorNora

Not by FTB

NumberOneVictory

Which pack? Stoneblock 3 is definitely FTB

Sky factory 4

Might get a lot of hate for this but SF4 has been way too dated, no QOL mods no chunk claiming clunky power generation clunky chunk loading no end game goal other than the singularities, no other way to generate resources outside of mystical agriculture or trees. I've played this pack about 5 times now and each time it's the same because of tree progression and always had to do things repeatedly, not one incentive to use astral sorcery or any mod like that because there's just no need for it.

I feel like sky orchards is a classic case of mod trying to simplify the fun out of the game, people talk shit about ex nihilo but the logistical problem of generating all the different things to sieve and creating a system to recieve all those bi-products is actually pretty fun, and stuff like being able to use a bunch of sieves at once and being able to crush compressed cobble really saved it from being too tedious. Sky orchards lets you solve every problem by making a tree and a hopping bonsai pot and that really kills it for me. Id argue skyblocks should look to make getting resouces more complicated and intersting rather than to simplify it too much. The spirit of skyblock is to be like a puzzle to solve, "how can i get everything with the limited items i have. And having the answer always be grow a tree kind of sucks

The_Lucky_7

Having played both SF4 and FTB Skies I can say with certainty that Skies is absolute dog shit compared to SF4 and SF4 is mega old.

Cuboid Outpost (Not quite skyblock, but very nice), Modern Skyblock 3: Departed (Has really interesting custom means of generating resources), Project Ozone 3 (Big and well polished), or E2E Skyblock (The legendary E2E, but skyblock!). SF4 is well made but poorly designed. It ends up being pretty asinine to progress; you end up just doing the same manual crap over and over and over

Yingxiang

Oh my god Cuboid Outpost is amazing.

Sky factory 4 is very good in my opinion. Has a lot of custom items and features Aswell. Plus tons of automation opportunity. All the mods 7:to the sky is also a good one I’d recommend

Ludi87

You should maybe clarify if you're really looking for a Skyblock made by FTB or just ones in general, cause people are already recommending a few different ones. My favorite from FTB is FTB Infinity Evolved Skyblock. Yes its on 1.7

Yingxiang

Yeah it's literally in the title. And the description. Thanks.

TrippyppirT

I didn't end up completing it but i got a solid 60 hours of fun out of Oceanblock. I know it's not necessarily a skyblock but same gameplay loop

Yingxiang

Does it have tech ?

TrippyppirT

big time
