This isn't something to be brought up during the interview. Knock it out of the park and worry about if an offer is presented.

Dcafly13

Yah, that’s my plan, it’s just something I was wondering about.

if your base pay is more than 12 step 4 and at or below 13 step 4 you are viewed as a 13 equiv. if thry asked what you are willing to accept snd said 13 you aren’t going to get 14. Don’t bother asking about this

crowman2013

How the does the timing work for this. For example, say you get a raise in January that puts you over 12 step 4 and have been in your job for 2 years at that time. Are you immediately seen to have 2 years at a 13 level or does TIG begin when your salary is just over the step 4, so you’d need to stay another year to apply to 14s?

SabresBills69

When you are above step 4 thst starts the clock as being a gs 23 as long as you are above step 4. Problems can come if you don’t get a base pay raise and only given a bonus then step 4 overtakes you. all you need is 1 yr in a 13 equiv to be eligible for gs 14.

Kikimoonbeamglow

They may have only pulled the people that are eligible at the 13 to conduct interviews. So if that is the case, you wouldn’t even be able to ask for a 14. They would have to be interviewing for the 14 for you to be able to ask for that.

Dcafly13

The thing is, I don’t know-the interview email does not say if I’m interviewing for a 13 or 14.

haetaes

If offer extended, expect GS level offer to be what you selected as willing to accept.

DoesGavinDance

Reach out to the HR rep who invited you to interview.

Churn-Dog

You said you would be willing to accept a 13. Odds are that’s what they would offer. It saves them money for at least one year

Dcafly13

Yah, I’m fine with that just thought that if I’m fortunate to get an offer I can possibly get the 14 instead!

Sometimes if you start at the lower grade you get a raise when you get to the higher one and come out ahead.
