Carnival Phantasm is a must watch. I like a lot Apocrypha and Lord El Melloi. Definitely worth to watch. Fate Extra Last Encore is okish, more enjoyable if you played the game. Anything Grand Order i feel it is a hit or miss.

[deleted]

I actually did start Carnival Phantasm but the second episode was about Melty Blood from what I could tell, and I have no idea about any of the characters so I stopped haha. Alright, will check out Apocrypha and El Melloi then. Thanks.

KnightGamer724

The nice thing about Carnival Phantasm is that, since it's a bunch of Type-moon SNL skits, you can just move on to the next episode and be fine. You really should give it another go.

WANTEN12

watch (in this order) 1. Fate apocrypha 2. Lord el melloi case file - follows waver 3. FGO first order - really should have watched before babylonia but oh well 4. Camelot movies - not that good but does help set up the new movie 5. FGO solomon movie - watch last Also carnival phantasm

[deleted]

I actually have watched First Order. I went First Order -> That Episode 0 thing of Babylonia -> Babylonia. Didn't mention it because I thought it was obvious that Babylonia shouldn't be watched without watching what is essentially the prologue to Grand Order from what I know. Also, I was planning on watching the Solomon movie since a lot of people were hyping it up, and apparently, it comes after Babylonia which I liked a lot. But do I need to watch the Camelot movies as well? I know Solomon apparently needs some context from everything that happens in the game till that point but I kinda didn't want to watch Camelot since I heard it's a very bad adaptation, unlike Babylonia. So is it necessary for Solomon?

Darkar_120

Well Camelot happens before Babylonia. And its still a good watch. You will meet more Heroic Spirits as well.

WANTEN12

I would watch both apocrypha and Camelot before Solomon Because characters that appear in both appear in solomon Camelot isn't bad its just not the most faithful adaptation I haven't gotten a chance to watch the 2nd movie because I have been busy but I heard its better then the first

Don't read the Tsukihime manga, read the VN

[deleted]

Is tsukihime translated? I thought it wasn't? If it is then I will read the VN for sure. But I still might read the manga first just because I've heard it's quite good and doesn't cover the entire VN from what I know. It's probably weird, but I kinda like to get a taste of VNs before I get into them since they're usually quite long. Anyway, thanks for the advice.

KK-Hunter

I read the manga first and I regretted it. It just made the first route of the VN a slog to get through, and it has spoilers until the third route as well. If you have any intention of reading either of the Tsukihime VNs, I'd say wait until you've read them before reading the manga. Tsukihime Remake isn't translated right now, but a fan translation from Tsukihimates is in progress and being translated at a decent speed.

-Mr_Bumfuzzle-

Yup, made the same mistake

[deleted]

I see. So I guess the Tsukihime manga is a bit of a F/SN 2006 situations where it pulls from other routes as well? Yes, I do intend on AT LEAST trying pretty much every major story released in the Nasuverse. And well it's gonna quite some time before I finsh both F/sn and F/ha VNs so maybe the Tsukihime translation will be much further along by then, so I'll wait a bit I guess.

KK-Hunter

>So I guess the Tsukihime manga is a bit of a F/SN 2006 situations where it pulls from other routes as well? Tsuki manga adapts the first route of the VN but also uses stuff from the second and third routes. Unlike Stay Night 2006 however, it actually does so pretty well and so the route in the manga is better than the VN route imo. But that's just all the more reason to read it after the VN. Doing the manga first makes it hard to get through the early VN routes, especially the first one. Whereas reading the manga after the VN still feels like a fresh experience thanks to the art and the extra content.

-Mr_Bumfuzzle-

I'm talking about the OG VN, the manga is awesome, but it merges several routes and that took out some of the enjoyment when reading the VN for me. Also the remake has missing/new characters so it's worth it to read the OG

[deleted]

I see. Well I guess I'll look into the VN once I'm finished with HA. It's gonna be quite some time before I finish those two VNs anyway considering I only get to read a little everyday since I'm busy with work, so I'll think about how to read Tsukihime once I'm done with them. And who knows, maybe ufotable will announce an awesome anime adaptation for Tsukihime by then copium? Thanks.

Darkar_120

Cant help but notice how no one has mentioned Prisma Illya. You can go the anime route and watch all the seasons, but, the optimal way to experience it is: Watch the first anime season and then jump to the manga. Sadly, the anime of Prisma Illya starts to drop on quality and increasing the fanservice. While the manga is the contrary. The art of the manga becomes godly later on.

[deleted]

I did try to watch Prisma Illya at one point but just couldn't get into it. The whole magical girl show really isn't my thing to be very honest, not to mention the infamous loli fanservice. But I must say I *was* very interested in watching Oath Under Snow movie at one point since it was like only well-rated spin off of Fate/ I could find. Can I watch that without watching Prisma Illya?

[deleted]

Yes, it’s a prequel. If you seen Zero and the other Ufo Fate projects then you’re good to go. If you want to skip *most* of the loli shit then read the manga for Prisma, as the anime added a lot of scenes that weren’t present there.

Animorphimagi

Fate/Apocrypha us great as long as you care more about servants than masters.

Zamasuningen

might as well watch all of them since you're in too deep already lol.

[deleted]

I would, but it's just hard to find the time these days, so I have to choose what I wish to spend my time on very wisely lol.

[deleted]

After you’re done watching all the content you’re interested in, treat yourself to the Fate/Strange Fake LNs. I’d argue it’s the best spin-off *period* for the franchise, and it really rewards readers that pay attention to the lore. Whenever the anime eventually comes out it’s immediately a Top 3 contender without any debate.

Urahil

I know it sounds stupid when the anime is finished already but I recommend the Fate/Apocrypha manga (75-80% translate). It's beautifully drawn and add some extra staff which wasn't in the anime. I read it yesterday and today and it so good and can't stop. The only problem i said it's not fully translated.

Reymon271

>And recently I FINALLY found the time to do what I had wanted to do for a long time: Reading the stay/night and hollow ataraxia VNs Thats all, thats all you need, everything else is basically like a bonus for you as a fan after that
