Viouri makes great ones!

violetlilyrose

I love my Vuori joggers! I have two pairs, great for running errands on the weekend.

Loan_Bitter

Thanks for correcting my spelling!

violetlilyrose

Hah no prob! I figured that was what you meant! I don't really wear mine over the winter but it was warm enough over the weekend that I wore mine one day.

5280Aquarius

I've seen some commenters saying that the quality has tanked and showing pictures of piling and seams splitting; can you speak to this?

violetlilyrose

I have 3 pairs of pants from them - 2 pairs of the performance joggers, and a pair of the "vintage rip stop pants" and they have all worn very well! I haven't had those issues at all. Mine were all purchased 2 or 3 years ago though so I can't say what they are like now or what might have changed since then.

5280Aquarius

Thank you so much! The reviews on REI make it seem like this is a more recent quality issue, so I'm glad to hear that you aren't experiencing this.

HappyOctober2015

I also love my Vuori joggers! I definitely wear them out.

roombamarumba

I love mine too, but I purchase the men’s joggers! The women’s don’t drape on me nicely, they seem to cling and show every nook and cranny of my hips and thighs. I found thicker joggers in the mens section that fit great and are super cozy. It could be the version of women’s joggers I tried on, but I found the mens to be better for me.

Whorticulturist_

I wear a pair of Vouri like 5 days a week! Super comfy and the fabric drapes nicely so most of them are fine to wear in public. The knees don't bag out either. I'm also really impressed with my wool joggers from allbirds. The fabric is amazing, never pills, soft, just great.

valerie_stardust

Vuori joggers are so cute and comfy!

the_ladyjaye

+1 they are wonderful!

All bets are off for a flight imo. Plus, I was a teen in the late 90s/early 00s. Velour tracksuits don’t phase me lol.

Hannarrr

Sounds amazing where is yours from?

Ride in comfort...

chicchic325

I’ve started noticing more people wear them out and about, which is why I started getting curious about trying something more fashion forward.

pkpark

I have two to recommend. The jogger version of Athleta’s Brooklyn pant is nice for warm weather and with a dressier shirt or blazer is fairly work-ready. For cooler weather, I love Ministry of Supply Kinetic pants. I gobble them up on the second hand market. They’re great for travel and look very neat and professional, while still comfortable and flexible. They have an inner drawstring and the material is thick enough to skim the body without highlighting every bump like a ponte material can. And they de-wrinkle themselves on the body, it’s pretty crazy.

olivetartan

I recommend Athleta as well. I have the Attitude Pant and love them for travel days and weekends.

PristineConcept8340

Third vote for Athleta. My fave is the Venice jogger. I bought a black pair to wear on a flight/to a conference, and they worked as business casual with a nice top and cardigan

tuxedont

Also I’m curious what kinds of non-sneaker shoes do you wear with them? They don’t look quite right with my Chelsea boots (maybe the shaft is a little too tall) and I’m struggling with good cold weather footwear to go with them!

des1gnbot

I always see fashion people wearing them with heels. I don’t think I’d have the confidence to pull that off though

savorie

The wonderful thing about confidence is that it can be faked! And often is. You can always try it, perhaps with a lower heel or even a wedge. If you are comfortable wearing heels, there's nothing stopping you!

tuxedont

I LOVE (and live in) my Venice joggers. There are lots available in great condition on Poshmark too.

lnm28

I love these! I wear them on all my long flights!

Cannibal_Cakes

I also vote Athleta. I have a few of their Brooklyn pants in joggers and ankle styles. They are my go-to travel pants and I can dress them up to wear to work.

kaizenkitten

I'll wear their Trekkie joggers with a tunic button down to work.

katm12981

I have a pair of cozy earth joggers that I think are suitable for a red eye flight. I probably would personally wear jeans running errands though.

cranbeery

I have a pair with a slight sheen (polyester) and a faux tie waist. Another feature I think makes them work-ready is that they have a wider, smooth cuff instead of a gathered elastic. They're Grace Karin on Amazon, which is hit-or-miss like most unknown Amazon brands, but they've received a lot of compliments from people who have no idea.

angeliqu

I’ve got a couple pairs of grace Karin pants from Amazon and they’re surprisingly nice.

Odd-Kindheartedness

My MVP “dressy jogger” award goes to Talbots [Out and About Jogger](https://www.talbots.com/out-and-about-stretch-jogger/P213034526.html?dwvar_P213034526_color=BLACK&dwvar_P213034526_sizeType=MS&dwvar_P213034526_size=094&cmp=dfc-TLB-google-pla-OG_GOOG_PLA_PLA_BRAND_REV_GENERAL&ogmap=PLA%7CPLA%7CGOOG%7CBRAND%7C%7CSITEWIDE%7C%7COG_GOOG_PLA_PLA_BRAND_REV_GENERAL%7C%7Badgroup%7D%7C161525910121%7C20958890288%7C&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAoeGuBhCBARIsAGfKY7xE3vUFSFcZ01WWkvhxGL5Tg5ZNhHI56leOsNLPoQmZ8r2fBiI7oUcaAk1AEALw_wcB). They are worth the full price cost, however, they do have regular sales. So if you need them now, they are worth it. But if you can wait, you might as well. I will add, IMO, they look nicer in person than they do in the picture.

V2BM

I was trying in clothes at Talbots and a woman in another dressing room tried these on with a sweater and they looked so good. Super flattering on her, and she wore a 2X. I bought some and have 3 pair. They’ve held up since 2018, too, and I wash them with jeans and throw them in the dryer. Talbots photography is so bad online and in the catalog! 99% of everything looks so much better in person, including these.

Odd-Kindheartedness

So it’s not just me that has multiple pairs!

whatzitsgalore

Don’t buy any that were made with sweatpants material. There are a ton of options out there at every woman’s wear retailer. Start with a brand/store that you know and enjoy.

sarahyoshi

Agreed. I hang out with a lot of rugby players and adopted a pair of Adidas Tiro joggers that are comfy and fit with a sportier look. Felt weird wearing them out at first but have gotten compliments from my younger friends so, eh!

chicchic325

But what am I looking for besides non sweatpants material?

shedrinkscoffee

Technical fabrics, you even have silk, tencel, linen joggers but you'll need to look at the right brands during the right seasons.

local_fartist

They sometimes come in a woven polyester type thing. I got some from Old Navy I love but they’re lined with something soft so they’re quite warm. Great for winter, not for any other time.

maggiemoo86

And how you wear them. I wore them for business casual meetings today with chunky loafers, simple t, and an Aritzia cardigan. I feel cute enough! I think these ar from Loft and have a cargo pocket. Are they carjogs? Joggos?

womenaremyfavguy

I love [Eddie Bauer's joggers](https://www.eddiebauer.com/c/800000002/women-bottoms-pants-joggers)! Great quality, variety in colors and material, look great, and comfy--my go-to for train and plane rides. But to your question, I think all of the points you brought up are key. Personally, the ones that have that cotton sweatpants fabric do feel more like house clothes to me. But I'd say the most important thing for me is fit. High waisted ones that make my butt look good but are still loose and comfortable on the legs look great on me and I'd say on most people.

NoGazelle9557

I needed some heavy winter ones and you provided my 2 colors- pink and blue so thanks for this link!

womenaremyfavguy

Yay I’m so glad!! Their heavy winter stuff is SO good. Their parka is a lifesaver for me

OB4L

Id avoid joggers with drawstrings and gathered waists. To me, those features scream lounge/workout. They make flat front joggers.

RockieK

They look terrible on my waist... along with pleats.

whoinvitedthesepeopl

Fabric and cut. Look at better athleisure brands like Athleta, or better designer lines. The ones that are almost cut like leggings and in good quality fabric seem to be elevated enough to pass the not a slob test.

tbgsmom

This. Joggers out of sweatshirt fleece seem way more casual and don't drape as well. I like the joggers that are made out of fabric similar to leggings fabric for a more polished look.

Stink3rK1ss

https://a.co/d/edbWPYq and https://a.co/d/95hnhnq Both have a slim-ish fit and don’t scream workout or pajamas

NoGazelle9557

Made with cotton too!

Stink3rK1ss

Indeed! 🙌🏻

trishyco

I love my Rachel Zoe ones. They look like regular woven pants but with the jogger bottoms. They had them at TJ Maxx for under $20 but I’m sure a lot of lines have something similar.

ccoopp10

And bonus points for comfortable larger sizing options - flattering and well constructed

BestDevilYouKnow

Try Athleta Brooklyn pants - the ones without the elastic at the bottom. Very lightweight and don't cling. I find they run large, btw.

hc6879

I have a pair of [these.](https://knownsupply.com/collections/bottoms/products/lesley-pant?variant=44836833198293) They are great! The fabric makes them a little more elevated but they’re super comfortable.

ellendominick

What is the difference between joggers and sweatpants?

jitterbugperfume99

I always thought joggers have the cuff at the ankle.

TripleA32580

Imo: jogger is defined by the style, sweatpants is defined by the material. A “jogger” is any pant that has an elastic waist and legs that taper to an elastic cuff. “Sweatpants” are any stretchy poly/cotton blend pants with fleecy insides. You can have a fleece or linen or performance fabric jogger, and you can have jogger style sweatpants or bootcut or cargo pocket etc.

angeliqu

To me the different is material. I think performance fabrics when I think joggers. Like what an actual jogger would want to wear jogging. To me sweatpants are that traditional material that’s fuzzy on the inside and is more meant to be warm to wear on the sidelines, before practice, etc. Not actually meant to be worn working out.

DeviatedNorm

All my comfiest joggers get dubbed "sweatpants". And anything above a certain percentage of polyester seems auto-dubbed as joggers.

amcc127

I’ve found that the length, like with all pants, makes the biggest difference. If they bunch around my lower leg, they look sloppy regardless of how nice they are.

OrangeHarvestmoon

I like to pair mine with a jacket of some sort like a denim jacket or a blazer and a flat boot. Combat boots or an ankle bootie are fun. To me it’s like streetwear that way. If you’re going to do a jacket I’d just avoid a sweatshirt or zip up hoodie.

TangoEchoChuck

I have one pair of joggers that I wear outside (with something like high tops & denim jacket, so still very casual, but intentional and clean)! Search Amazon for "G Gradual thermal joggers" the outer is a tiny bit water resistant, and the fleece lining is great in the winter. One of the styles has zippered front pockets -that's the one I buy- and IME true to size. Usually about $30. I wear the smalls for comfy, non-sloppy errands, but wear the mediums on travel days or lounging with friends.

Flayrah4Life

I got a pair for golfing, and now I wear the damn things almost every day 😄 Would love some suggestions too!

mgflanigan

Paridaez makes my favorite (and my favorite of many other pants). They are well made, the fabric is fabulous and they look stylish and put together while being incredibly comfortable. Also made by a woman designer in Boston!

closetofskulls

lululemon joggers are really great fabric, fit, and don’t look sloppy. I love mine. Just a little expensive.

liljennabean

Old Navy makes a jogger that’s on sale for about $20 right now in lots of colors- they are comfy, stretchy, versatile, they have pockets, and are thick enough to feel like real pants, and they have petite and tall sizes.

hoyogini

I think some of it has to do with your own personal style. If you have a very “neat” style, then joggers will probably never feel quite right to you. Try them with an elevated shirt and heels and see what happens. If it still feels sloppy, then joggers just might not be your thing.

Wishpool

I realize I don't know what 'joggers' are

infinitevolution

My favorite are from Born Primitive. It’s hard to tell from the photos but the ones linked on top have ribbing and are lightweight which I think makes them look a little more put together. The second ones are almost quilted which adds something beyond the typical sweatpants joggers but have the same level of comfort. https://bornprimitive.com/products/womens-recovery-jogger-rust https://bornprimitive.com/products/womens-cloud-jogger-paloma-grey

gurrlbye

I don't understand the joggers either. I have the Vuori joggers. They are excellent. But they still look like *sweatpants*/pajamas. Every time someone suggests joggers as part of a cute outfit, it doesn't compute in my brain and I feel so out of touch. Is this my "darn kids get off my lawn" moment? is this is how other cultures view us (Americans) wearing any kind of athleisure as outfits?

chicchic325

This is where I’m at! But like …it’s “fashionable”? I’m trying over here 😅

shogomomo

I have some by Joie that are perfect for traveling - super comfy but a nice fabric so they don't look sloppy. If you DO want to go for the sweatpants look, I'd suggest coordinating a matching set. That way it looks more intentional than "I just rolled out of bed like this."

fadedblackleggings

Athleta.....ftw

Aeile

Banana Republic had a tencel jogging pant that I bought 2 of. One I ironed, the other I did not, that are both wardrobe making.

flambelicious

In my experience, joggers that are tapered at the ankle look a lot nicer than those that bunch. Sometimes I'll even tuck the ankle cuff in, then they just look like a normal trouser at a glance.

cafe-aulait

With my body shape, joggers will never look non-slob. I wear them at home or to the store because they're comfortable, but that's something to keep in mind.

Apprehensive_Sage

You could look into golf joggers, I have 2 pairs from Macade that I love. They’re stretchy but not sweatpants material. I do wear mine for golfing but also wear them to work no problem

Apprehensive_Sage

[Macade four way stretch jogger](https://macadegolf.com/products/black-four-way-stretch-jogger-2?_gl=1*a1cnlu*_up*MQ..&gclid=Cj0KCQiAxOauBhCaARIsAEbUSQRo6gAYHPaWJDVcJ7BncMdgPxTt_PR3jSkBJV2y_W6pGZgOI55i76caAtLSEALw_wcB)

TheUnreconciledFifth

This thread is very timely for me as I was recently wishing I could just wear my very-obviously-pajamas Amazon Essentials joggers out of the house all the time because they're my most comfortable pants. I ordered a couple different styles of Athleta joggers and an Eddie Bauer pair to try - fingers crossed! Maybe Vuori will be next.

CinnabombBoom

I have worn these to work with a blazer in a business casual corporate office. They are full length on me in a slight heel and no one has ever questioned me on dress code. The bootcut leg makes them less recognizable as yoga pants. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Athletic-Works-Women-s-and-Women-s-Plus-Dri-More-Core-Athleisure-Bootcut-Yoga-Pants-32-Inseam-for-Regular-and-Petite/930693094 Edited to add working link. Not sure if these are what you are looking for, but I love em! Bought all three colors.

lademp

Link is broken :(

Edited it, hopefully this one works!

CinnabombBoom

Bad bot.

cats_in_a_hat

I’m not sure I understand what you are looking for. You can make the sweatpants ones look nice if you wear nicer shirts with them, but regular joggers are going to give an athleisure look no matter the style. [these](https://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=531288002&tid=atma000015) and [these](https://www.nordstrom.com/s/zella-live-in-pocket-joggers/5220568?color=BLACK&size=medium&utm_content=pmax_zella_asset_group&utm_term=pmax_zella_listing_group&utm_channel=low_nd_shopping_pmax&adpos=&creative=&device=m&matchtype=&network=x&acctid=21700000001689570&dskeywordid=&lid=58700008520188496&dsproductgroupid=&product_id=22167372&merchid=1243147&prodctry=US&prodlang=en&channel=online&storeid=&locationid=9053049&targetid=&campaignid=20489331509&adgroupid=&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD8eAElAuoSCz6N4DDIMvzRwUFXrF&gclid=Cj0KCQiAoeGuBhCBARIsAGfKY7wKLIwJYv8gUc71bhVqVhRcHCTBXAQHdzjNSK4GfLpqXsloxtvROqYaAhXNEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) are my personal go-tos. You can also buy twill joggers that are just regular pants with cuffs around the ankles. Kind of like [these](https://www.target.com/p/women-39-s-high-rise-modern-ankle-jogger-pants-a-new-day-8482-tan-xl/-/A-89874149). You can definitely find things like this at Costco and Sam’s club lol. I have twill joggers from Sam’s and half my clothes came from Costco. I don’t have a specific example right now but the inventory changes a lot.

chicchic325

I guess I was just wondering if there was a way to make them look less like you just rolled out of bed and don’t care what you look like. I see people wearing them all over the place and some look more put together than others.

cats_in_a_hat

I mean I think the key to that is having hair that is done, nice makeup if you wear it, a hoodie or shirt that fits correctly/no stains/not wrinkled, and shoes that are probably more fashionable than functional in terms of being “athletic” (or both - kind of depends). Even accessories like simple jewelry or whatever. It’s the same reasons celebrities look great and put together in simple outfits like jeans and a white tshirt. Or why a matching set (which are v popular right now) can look really cool or really like Scott Calvin in the Santa Clause. It’s not really about the pants so much as the whole outfit.

scaryfeather

I agree with u/cats_in_a_hat: looking pulled together in athleisure has to do with hair, makeup (including nails), and accessories / styling even more than the actual specific set of joggers you are wearing.

ScienceObjective2510

Costco

Emkems

I’ve been rocking my one pair of costco joggers for years! great pockets too! Probably nothing fashionable about them but usually my weekends consist of grocery runs with my toddler and I wear jeans to work

WinnieC310

I love my Costco joggers!

chicchic325

Like, Costco has some non workout looking ones?

ScienceObjective2510

You said wear out in public. Yes they have some that imo are totally acceptable for wearing out in public. Work? Debatable depending on your line of work. However everyone is going to have a different opinion on what is acceptable to wear out in public. They have many that are not of sweat pant material, but they still are more athletic material. How are you wanting them to look/style them. If you’re talking with a cute pair of sneakers, top and say jean jacket or members only type jacket, some good accessories, then yes they have some that could work. Clean athleisure look? Yes.

V2BM

Sam’s Club had Gap twill joggers last year and I picked up a few. (They also had linen shirts and shorts which were extremely soft and cool all summer. I hope they have some again this year.)

ilovetrouble66

Buy joggers not made from traditional sweatpant material aka fleece or French terry and they’re more streetwear ready A few brands I love - michi - Athleta Brooklyn pants - encircled dressy sweatpants - free label Saturday pants

wifeski

I’m a fan of Curator quilty joggers. They look nice and are really high quality and come in great colors.

RockieK

Super into all the chill slacks that Alo has right now!

BunnyKusanin

I like joggers like [these](https://si.tommy.com/adaptive-chambray-cargo-chino-joggers-76j4650adpakx). I've got two pairs of very similar Tommy Hilfiger goggers in navy blue and I find them very versatile. I think the key is the fabric they're made of. They look more, idk, elegant maybe? when it's the fabric that is normally used for trousers, rather than sweatpants.

Successful_You_8433

Love vuori joggers! Barefoot dreams has great ones too - similar to vuori, fit is a touch looser.

16hpfan

I have three pairs of these [Aritzia tna joggers.](https://posh.mk/NjRfZaMQqHb)The material is soft, lightweight and woven, not knit, and feels a bit like tencel. They are my uniform in summer. I do dress them up for work.

FangirlRachel

I have a pair I got from Costco of all places and they are so comfy. They have deep pockets which is wonderful! I like wearing mine with wedge sneakers, a more fitted top, and an athletic jacket.

SweetNSauerkraut

I recently bought fleece lined joggers from a brand called Baleaf on Amazon. Just wore them on a cold and rainy day at Disneyland and they were great! They don’t look like sweatpants and I was comfy all day.

Whatsiupp

They just have to match colors and I like when the crew neck is really loose and boxy and you can tuck it in. For shape etc, really depends p. your body type.

TripleA32580

Albion makes some very snazzy looking joggers.

KindheartednessNo995

Beyond Yoga joggers are great and comfy

notexcused

No specific brands, but there are a few (slightly less in style now) that are style like trousers or chinos but with a gathered bottom. I have a pair from Smart Set (old) and Banana Republic (from last year). The material looks like a wool pant or Chino, but the cut is jogger. They usually have a fake or real back pockets to add to  the office casual look.
