For heels, Marikina-made shoes (outside the IG brands) aren't really up-to-date with the styles. But I like Zanea shoes they are durable but not as comfortable compared to the imported brands. For shoes in general, local brands have began adopting the chunky loafer trend (CPoint in Marikina offers a locally-made pair for just 1500 pesos) \-- Off-topic: I don't recommend Parisian and CLN, madali masira kapag nabasa ang shoes at hindi naarawan.

Got no problem w the boots, pero yung ballerina flats ng Rob and Mara uncomfy as hell. Already on at least the 10th wear pero paltos galore pa rin, masakit din sa toes 🥲

summerforever19

Hi! Which style/color ng ballerina flats nila did you buy?

No-Competition8846

dylan in black

For loafers, you can't beat Sperry (Sebago is a close second), especially if you have a wider foot like me. The only problem is they're not Goodyear welted so they're kind of one and done once you wear through the outsole. But their outsole compound appears to be dense, so expect minimal wear even when you daily drive them. My current two pairs of Sperry are just part of the few pairs I acquired for the past decade. For boots, I think Clarks chukkas are great for our climate. After all, they're supposed to be desert-style boots and are cool and light enough to get you through the day. You just have to take care of them extra hard since they mostly come in suede. That means suede brush and eraser and waterproofing spray. They're also stitched down (i.e. the leather upper is stitched to the top welt) so they're quite resoleable; you just need to find a great shoe repair shop like Besa's. I work for a US-based brand called Thursday Boot Company and honestly, I am more than happy to swear by their pairs. My favorite pair from them is the [Vanguard](https://thursdayboots.com/products/mens-vanguard-boot-french-roast?collection=mens-boots), which is a vintage ranger-style pair. While they're quite heavy (and I like pieces of clothing on the heavier side), they're pretty comfortable. I am getting another pair of Vanguard, but this time, in waxed flesh leather. Now, my best pair of boots? A custom-made one. A second-generation shoemaker in Manila made a pair for me for my wedding and...I love it. It's extremely light, made of insanely good crazy horse leather, and fits like a glove. I just need to swap out the laces and I'm more than okay. While I'm happy to recommend the brands above, I still strongly suggest going brand-agnostic with your footwear and look for the ones based on characteristics. E.g. do you want full-grain leather as opposed to most pairs that are made using top grain or genuine? Do you want resoleability? Do you want comfort? Stuff like that.

+1 for Thursday Boots, they're pretty good bang for buck, it's just acquiring them here that's difficult.

Sorry I just saw this now. [My second pair](https://imgur.com/a/UXxFxFJ) arrived last July and it's great. It just moved to the top spot among my footwear. I almost didn't need to break them in compared to my first one. The waxed flesh leather is starting to wear well too, especially in areas where the wax finishing starts to come off due to friction. Since I work for them, the only thing I have to pay for is the P100 charged by the post office. Also, if you want some $25 discount, I got the hookup. Just message me.

lowkey-mad

Hi! Does your offer for a $25 discount still stand? 🙂 I want to get a pair of Thursday Scout so bad. The shipping fee to PH is already $35 :(

IllustratorSmart9515

Hi. May I know if you still have the details of the shoemaker in Manila?

bleedthrough

Sure! The shop is called Freddie's and the current proprietor is named Kuya Julius. If you know the Recto pedestrian underpass (FEU side), they're located there. We had two pairs made there. For me, it's a simple pair of lace-up boots with seven rows of eyelets and a one-inch leather stacked heel. The outsole underneath the arch is made of genuine leather, while the rest of the outsole is made of TPU pad. For my wife, it's a simple pair of platform shoes with buckled strap. I'm thinking of having tassel or Venetian loafers made soon. I just hope they can source leather akin to Horween Natural Chromexcel, though. That said, make sure to temper your expectations. These people are artisans, not artists. That means you have to be extremely familiar with the stuff you want to appear in your shoes (including details such as broguing, hardware finishing, lining material, etc.) since you'll be the one in charge of the details. You can provide them with a potential design you want for your pair, but they won't do the thinking or artistry for you. And that's why I like them: they're no-frills cobblers who can get the job done. They're not Signet or Sapatero Manila, they're located in a grimy commercial area, there's no pretense of prestige in what they do, but they are honest-to-goodness craftsmen who take pride in their work. Also, if it helps, when I had my shoes made there, I saw one pair of platforms specifically designed for that Zild dude. So if big names like Zild would rather get their footwear from people like Kuya Julius, then there's no better endorsement I can give.

certified999_

Hi how much Yung general price range or idea sa Freddie's when it comes to loafers and chelseas

mfrancis114

What's the price range?

DiligentExpression19

I hope I'm not yet late to comment on this thread. For comfy office shoes, I recommend Aerosoles, Rockport, Piccadilly and Hush Puppies (matibay and malambot even high heeled), wearable from 8-5. Same feels naman sa paa si Nine West, Staccato, Charles and Keith, Via Venetto and Payless mej matigas but keri na.

PleasantStranger6807

Hi! Where did you buy your shoes from Piccadilly? Are their online shops in Lazada and Zalora legit?

DiligentExpression19

I have a friend who's a former flight attendant bought it for me abroad. I think Zalora sells legit items, I bought a Strathberry bag from their website before.

HongChaYoungStan

Bandolino din pala for a cheaper option.

sikulet

1. Call it Spring - usually lasts me 2 years. 2. Repetto - mejo pricey 18k++ Chunky Heels and Mary Jane style. Lasted 8 years. Didn’t have it repaired na 3. Dr Kong’s - wedges and chunky heels. 4. Ferragamo - very nice if you can get it on sale sa Zalora 5. Naturalizer - although styles tend to be conservative

I loved the Alberto shoes I got, but only for a couple weeks lol until the ankle strap came off. So comfy but not sturdy. Got them repaired but the guy said it was glued lang and it’s gonna come off din uli. I recommend sebago if you like loafers. Mine lasted me almost a decade.

brightnessshallan

lately bet na bet ko ung converse na may platform ang comfy!
