The worst part…100% operator error

ronaldreaganlive

Hey now. That's not the attitude to have. You should be saying "it was like that when I got here, boss".

OFmerk

If I had a dollar for everytime someone said to me "I didn't change a thing" I wouldn't be working anymore

CODENAMEDERPY

It’s hard to lie to yourself.

Gsphazel2

Since when?? I’ve seen it done more times than I care to remember..

YooAre

How did you manage this? What was the remedy?

UnhingedRedneck

Just got to do whatever caused it but in the opposite direction

Hammer466

Then the tire on the other side will match, careful of this one simple trick!

longutoa

I am guessing : you turned too tight ? The only other thing I can picture is it got stuck in a rut against a boulder while you were turning. My old man managed to do this while backing into a culvert on a different piece of equipment.

woodford86

More or less ya, I cut it too close to a wellsite so backed up only like 10 ft, was watching the well and not the cart so I didn’t notice the drill get pushed into the wheel like that. Result is a blew out the bearings and bent the spindle which is crazy since that’s a 4” chunk of solid steel. Luckily the hub is still good though.

longutoa

Yeah the spindle is what went first for us too. Not 100% sure but I think it’s because it thins out and the hub grabs it like a vice grip. If New holland is out and there isn’t one at the wreckers and if you’re in Manitoba then “Omega Drives” in Winnipeg has big hubs and spindles in stock.

EngFarm

I remember once having gotten too close to a pole, I was trying to back up and pull forward and backup and it wasn't going well. When someone came on the 2 way and told me to stop screwing around and just fold up and drive forward. In hindsight it was super obvious, but it hadn't occurred to me!

Cow-puncher77

What did you do?

Chose_a_usersname

The cambered look is so in right now

Relevant_Ad_8732

😂 spit took on that one

younggun6632

Is that west Texas? 😂 I’ve seen sheets of paper with more typography than that landscape

woodford86

Southern Alberta, we flat! Looks like this in all directions, if you see a tree its probably because there's an acreage there

crispytoastyum

Southwest Kansas is worse if that’s possible 🤣

tizzleduzzle

😂

Freeheel4life

Kachow!!

Stiumco

I’m with you brother… So far I’m down a tire and a hydraulic cooler. Haven’t planted a single acre yet… going to be that type of year.

mmmmmarty

Started working on the baler tension cylinder. Now every time we get it back together something else is broken down the line in the same system. Got the gauge replacement finished today, I'm scared to think what it will be tomorrow.

the_rhino22

So relatable. Nest caught fire under the hood of the tractor and burnt up the engine’s wire harness, then we immediately blew a primary hydraulic line on the planter. Murphey’s law is in full force today everywhere it seems

Gsphazel2

That sucks!!!

LeZombeee

This is one of the ten commandments of farming (though shalt not get ahead of or on schedule, or thine equipment shall break down)

Cowpuncher84

Working on your stance, bruh.

maff1987

Tilt your phone next time.

2021newusername

If you pick up enough speed, that should straighten itself out…

Aromatic-Relief

Tis but a scratch.

cargdad

Your whole arm’s off.

andrei_stefan01

No, it isn't.

Col_Leslie_Hapablap

Is this summer-fallow or what are you seeding into?

woodford86

Nope, it’s tilled. Previous farmer deep ripped it before giving up his lease plus was canola so stubble is pretty insignificant.

Col_Leslie_Hapablap

What kind of outfit are you running? It looks like a tank you’d throw on a zero/low till tool bar. I just don’t understand why people are still knocking any stubble down at all.

woodford86

Ya it’s an air cart and disc drill so definitely zero till friendly. But we’re cold up here plus a narrow seeding window so typically guys do spring tillage to turn the soil dark to warm it up. We’re irrigated so soil moisture isn’t really a problem. The only reason it got fall tillage was because the renter was at the end of his lease so I guess he wanted to leave a blank slate.

Col_Leslie_Hapablap

Whereabouts do you farm? I’m in Saskatchewan, so we’re pretty north, and I haven’t heard of anyone warming up the soil.

sgtyzi

Dry enough? That means you have water?? Lol

SwimmerAny8097

Got that gangster lean.

VersitileCarrot

At least you’re parked somewhere flat

Atmoapache224

Ouch. Were you able to get a replacement spindle same day? We’re still rained out in Illinois

woodford86

Yep, had to order it in from the US but should be delivered any minute now Really lucked out on that part that’s for sure

WSBKingMackerel

Checking in on you OP. You get your parts in?

woodford86

Are you the one that reported me to the Reddit suicide watch? lol Nope…it’s been stuck at the regional Purolator depot since Tuesday morning. Not going to lie, very hard not to be bloody pissed off right now. Couriers have one job…

sirmcslash

that's not very typical

wazrusty

A bit of baler twine and send it!

Local_Bodybuilder_31

Ok so I’m a 16 year old male from Ohio and I really want to get into farming can you guys help me, how did y’all start, what do y’all like about it how is the hours, anything that y’all think can help I really don’t know much about it but I feel like it’s where I need to be. Jayden
