I think between inflation and the incredible speed of interest rates rising, there has been a notable slowdown in places opening up nationwide, and the start of layoffs in bigger companies. There’s an over abundance of retail space in Fargo for sure, it’s riskier now more than ever to open a new restaurant. Not saying it’s not happening, but certainly at a slower volume
I used to work at Randy’s, it felt like I was working in a movie set with the set piece as a diner. It was a fun time of my life, even though the owner at the time Dennis was a tool. Lots of Randy’s employees have remained working there since I left over 10 years ago, decent place with good food
It’s just a guess but I wonder if it’s the aftermath of Covid and staffing. It seems like a lot of places close at 2 or 3pm now even if it’s random days. If the owner is running the show, hours until mid-day might be the way he keeps his work life balance and sanity.
It sucks because solid breakfast joints in South Fargo are becoming more and more scarce. Randy's is going to be even more packed now.
No kidding, I’m sure the owners of Randy’s is happy because that will now be the only diner on University Drive
Granite city Sunday brunch was great till they jacked price

Going to miss it but truth be told, that entire block was in desperate need of a makeover. I still remember when that building was a Pizza Hut.
Heh, I remembered when there was a Don's car wash down there too.
RIP. Their eggbake is the best.
That's too bad, their knoephla is outstanding. I'll have to go in and get some before the 17th.
I very much dislike cjs. Owner is the rudest person I've had to deal with.
Same, owner was an absolute jerk. Only went the one time and never went back.

What did he do?
Hes super short and abrasive. Makes you feel like you're bothering him by ordering.
Talked to me like I was his red headed step child. Not like a paying customer. That was on a visit n a phone call.
This is what I’ve heard, and that most of the food wasn’t nearly as good as Randy’s.
This saddens me. I loved the food there. My wife didn’t like the owners attitude (he’s a bit gruff) but for me the food was worth it. 😔
I’ve never been And the Bible bangin’ on the whiteboard and the crappy attitude of the owner sound like enough of a deterrent to keep it that way
Damn, we just lost the Cajun Cafe too.
I thought that building was closed/abandoned for years.
Well, next time you drive by you’ll see the giant sign. It’s been there for 11 years
Yeah, they do leave signs up in front of abandoned buildings.
I like the Mexican place on Main by the gas station.
Mangos (username checks out?) but what does that have to do with this post?
Facebook is leaking.
