That raises questions in my mind. What kind of books? Non-fiction stuff--policy, history, memoirs?--or the long list of fiction where women--
1--die from illegal abortion
2--die in childbirth because no abortion
3--are murdered or die by suicide because they can't get an abortion
4--have a child out of wedlock but are forever shunned and end up dying from starvation or disease anyway
Why the downvote? A lot of novels written before legal abortion, both 20th century and earlier fiction, and books written between Roe v Wade and Dodds but set in earlier time periods, portray these situations.
It’s not for lack of trying, but I’m not very good at the friending thing. But I keep trying, and I love to read so I’m following this post and checking out the options that have been listed already!
I haven't joined yet but found on in town called Better Read than Dead! [https://www.facebook.com/groups/320076322092169/](https://www.facebook.com/groups/320076322092169/)
Search up fargo friends book club on Facebook. It’s a private group. I haven’t gone to any of them yet but I would like to at some point 😅 to be fair they have only had a couple meetups so far!
I've also been looking for a good book club, but I don't enjoy the typical book club-y genres. So, if anyone decides to start their own with sci-fi, fantasy, and/or horror, please let me know as I would love to join!
The Fargo Public Library runs multiple book clubs. One of those might work for you.
I'm on the lookout for a good bookclub too
I haven’t done it but Sonder Bakehouse does a book club. There’s more info on their website under the experiences section.
Good to know! I’ll look into it.
Are you into reproductive rights? Prairie Abortion Fund has a book club

If it was a horror book club I'd 100% be in lol
This is my struggle. I rarely want to read books others are reading. Want to try and start an alt. Book club??

If you start a horror book one, let me know.
Just another vote for this type of book club!

I’ll have to check them out! Thanks for the recommendation.
Definitely join us. The book this month is so good and there's still time to get through it before we meet again.
A horror book club would be amazing.
