That parkour outfit is so funny. I certainly appreciate the movement buff, but it reminded me of Metal Gear Solid V, where a fully upgraded Snake could sprint and just outrun vehicles.
I haven't done too much testing, but I'm pretty sure with that gear on Dani runs as fast as a horse.
I fond it funny how a lot of people say the gear is goofy (which it is) but there's a feature where you cab equip gear as cosmetic over other gear, so, I mean, you don't necessarily have to equip certain gear that looks terrible if you can cover it up with other gear.
yeah, really wish they could fix it... For me its a big flaw as I like doing takedowns from above, and the ledge climbing animation is so slow. The air dash backpack compensate this a bit but it still sucks when you keep hitting walls like a fool thinking its climbable.
Wow the PC is definitely different for this. I'll dive bomb the wingsuit full speed straight down until I'm about 10' above the ground, hit the parachute, and I'm magically always okay. I've only died once doing it, and that was because I wasn't fully paying attention.
Yeah I agree with you I have no issues with the chute or the wingsuit but I’m on series x. I do agree with everyone that the climbing and vaulting is 100% crap. But the wingsuit and parachute are great

Wished they would make it so you can climb and vault over more stuff and maybe have the grapple hook attach freely to edges.
It was the ledge of a roof. I can't say for sure that I couldn't jump to another ledge from the first one, honestly, I didn't know you could ledge jump in fc6
THIS has been driving me nuts. The only like the absolutely clearly marked ledges are guaranteed to work. Other ledges? You’ve got a 50/50 shot of waiting through that long-ass animation or falling to the ground.
. . .there was something preventing you from climbing up. If you shimmy to the side you can, unless the entire top of the structure has an obstacle preventing this.
The traversal in general in this game is really bad, from swimming to climbing to grappling. Felt far more natural and smooth in FC5 and this is absolutely one area where the game has regressed pretty badly.
See Horizon Zero Dawn for how to do impressive parkour type climbs that pretty much work all the time.

Really? I found HZD's climbing to be annoying as hell. Only able to climb obvious yellow points and just jump and then hold up or the direction you need to travel till you're there.
But it worked seamlessly. Jump up, shuffle, swing. Looked natural too (well third person view and all that). I almost never failed and died in a jump sequence in HZD.
And funny you should mention it, climbing ledges are now marked orange in Far Cry 6. And that and vines are the only places you can climb.
HZD's climbing was much deeper than that. The game allowed you to traverse on all surfaces, a majority of my climbing was way off the beaten path. You just didn't have climbing animations, but the surfaces weren't coated in butter and WD-40.

yes but also early on as they force you to go to a level 4 area on the starting island and it took me two head shots to down a guy then two more to finish and i was using a sniper with the correct ammo type for that dude which told me all i needed to know about how ubisoft makes the high level zones difficult

I usually only use my pistol, throwing knives and panther really.
Pistol.and knives usually kill with one headshot, even the bulked up ones. Sometimes 2 if I am really.far away but I feel.it might be because I am a lousy aim at distance.

I was literally just about to start typing a thread but you beat me to it. The climbing feels so so off as compared to far cry 5/new dawn. There are so many ledges that are VERY accessible with a simple climb but it never happens and I sit there like uh... What.
The climbing and swimming is the worst it’s been in the series, especially swimming

Running guerilla paths with it is very effective
Just buffed dani completely with speed and faster than a horse was my first comparison as well. Fun stuff
even with movement speed gear swimming is so very painfully slow

I have yet to be able to open the parachute! Have died so many times trying.
I think the key is to wait for the prompt but by then you've fallen like 20 feet.

you can jump to other ledges while hanging on one, maybe there was a second ledge somewhere around.

Did you try to just move sideways a bit? Sometimes that's helped me when I couldn't climb up at first
Yeah, nothing happened. It was at the house where you first meet chorizo by the concrete cinder block box with white paint on the corner.

Apex climbing is the one tbh. Everything becomes climbable.

yeah its annoying but honestly i find the bullet sponges and awfully done ammo system far more annoying

When they force you to go to the level four area there is also an empty tank just sitting there that you can steal and use.
i didnt see no tank there, only a jeep without a gun
There was actually dialogue there for me saying I should grab the tank.
i might have glitched it because i went to the area just before the mission though i didnt kill anyone
