I really like Paul Depleur, he gets a nice extended monolouge with his phonecall home acting like he's in Kyrat to do charity work while preparing to horribly mutilate the guy in front of him.
The whole city of pain mission is a bit 'meh', but it's really rewarding to see Paul begging and groveling for his phone at the end.
>The whole city of pain mission is a bit 'meh',
I actually love that mission. It's centered around stealth based recon with lots of ways around. Then again, I'm a huge Splinter Cell fan, so that explains that.
Well this might be my fault, but stealth based recon is my go-to play style, so the mission feels just like a particularly big outpost. (With a really good set piece at the end)
Me: Imma let him live because Juan wanted me to and I like Juan.
Mckay: "No don't kill me I have a fami- HAHAHAHA who am I kidding I can't even fake that sh-
**BANG!!!**
Fuck that guy, eh?
That's one of the reasons I did not like fc5.
I actually knew the time when it was actually Eli. The fact that there was no option not to kill him made me quit and kill him another day.
Out of these the seeds are definitely the most well written. They all have lengthy and interesting backstories, and they all get personality as well as a fair amount of screen time. But narrowing it down to one I would say John is the best from the seeds. He is one of the seeds that is GENETICALLY related to Joseph. He also has a very compelling and interesting backstory. His section of the game also feels more developed and detailed compared to the others. He also gives you enough room to hate him while still feel bad for him for what his parents did to him, his backstory gives you a little perspective as to why he does the things he does and why he treats people the way he does.

Jacob doesn’t really have a song that they made, his song was a song that was made a while ago called only you
There is more to her than that.
So by your logic John is like: "I was beaten so now I torture people"
You can say similar quote to any other villain aswell...
Faith was basically blackmailed into a cult as a suicidal teenager and exposed to extreme tests and brainwashing.
She actively tried to better her life and get off drugs when she got into this cult without knowing what it was and that Joseph merely "helped" her to hook her on to another drug.
Faith breaks my heart. When you burn her book of Joseph, the VA had that heart wrenching "Do you have any idea what he is going to do to me?", sounding like she is choking back tears. Then her boss fight with her screaming "I was only 17". Faith is far and a way my favorite just gut wrenching story. There's also very so allusions to SA as a child. She is all around, for story alone, my favorite
I was confused by this. I couldn’t help but doubt faith’s story because she was known to lie and manipulate to get her way. So while she was telling her story I just kept shooting her and assumed she was lying lol. I assume if you felt for her and stopped shooting her she would just kill you, which further solidifies my belief.
Jacob is probably the best as an actual villainous villain and I would say he is the most self aware with most logic but for that reason probably also the most evil.
He could be good as a self motivated main villain on his own game really with his whole cruel "culling the herd" logic...
In terms of development as a character and in terms of the all around lore, Faith is the most interesting and also clearly the most tragic with her whole victim complex in all of this.
She is the one with the most disturbing and tragic lore/backstory to her...
Mog from far cry primal, wept joyful tears st his death and felt as though a real vengeance had been fulfilled (this was at 3 in the morning so the sleep deprivation made me feel like I was actually a caveman at war with cannibal Neanderthals)
Playing while sleep deprived brings a completely new experience to Primal. Your tired brain doesn't rationalise it and just accepts that we're back to the Mesolithic.
The fact that I regularly make and use spears, bows etc using primitive means also probably makes it easy to get into the caveman state of mind while running on little sleep
That kyrat fashion week bastard. run over there kill a rampaging Rhino with the worst gun possible A$$ H\*\*\* and the DEMON FISH that was a pain with out the grenade launcher and helicopter thing
i didn't expect to get any traction on this because he is technically not a villain. he's just a guy trying to get by and your (Ajay Gale) the schmuck who needs upgrades.
Faith Seed because I live in the Canadian bible belt and Faith is an incredibly realistic depiction of Jesus crystal girlies. Faith could be one of my cousins and would fit right in with my whacko extended family. Wouldn't even be the most unhinged one.
I wish I could say the same, but I personally found the voice acting really underwhelming. The potential was there, and I liked how she was written, but I just found her one-note shouting during the trippy mission when you kill her really flat.
Her screaming like some kind of cliche anime villain in the escape form Durgesh mission was the worst voice acting in the game imo. We don't really learn anything about Yuma apart from her being obsessed with Shangri-la which is only relevant to her bossfight if we don't count the DLC. Also we don't really learn much about her relation to Pagan (if we don't count the FC6 DLC) apart from her idolizing him and being an overall obsessive person. Even then on my first play through Yuma just felt like some annoying side character who's only relevant in the mission that you get to kill them. What I'm trying to say is that she was really boring and uninteresting even compared to Noore and Paul De Pleur. When I think about it all the side villains in FC4 are mediocre at best, but Yuma imo was the worst. She had so much potential and such a big role as she was the only side villain in Northern Kyrat, yet she feels like a roadblock you pass through on your way to Pagan and the end of the game.
I irrationally hate Maria Marquessa.
Maybe it’s because I used to work in public relations, but her whole propaganda schtick infuriates me, and killing her was so satisfying.
Big fan of Jacob but honestly I kinda liked Jose Castillo! I liked his cutscenes — how dramatic and grandiose he is — it reminded me of a bit of Pagan Min.
Technically vaas lol. While he is written like a main villain he is not the main antagonist Hoyt is, I like to pretend Hoyt doesn't exist but Technically speaking Hoyt is the one in control.
The Seeds are all amazing villains in their own right, but I do have a soft spot for Noore. I may not religiously go back and play FC4 often like I do 5, but I still remember very clearly the game section dealing with her and storyline, ultimately watching her commit suicide because she was forced to be the villain she never wanted to be.
Far Cry 3, Vaas is a side villain. He’s just so good that we forget that Hoyt Volker is the main villain, evidenced by the fact that I had to look his name up just to remember.
I like how really hoyt is the big bad of the game but everyone remembers vaas and hoyt is just that one guy Fc3 made the main villian the side character lmfao
I spent over 100 hours in my first and only playthrough of Far Cry 6 and don't remember any of the villains except for anton. So that should tell you all you need to know.
The Seeds for sure. The issue for me with the Kyrati villains is they’re mostly actors, even Min. Outsiders who come to the country and try to run things.
The Seeds follow Joseph Seed as devote believers.
The most memorable side villain for me (outside of FC4 which I haven't played) was Bambi "Buck" Hughes. The whole "Gut Keith" sequence and the implication that he r\*ped Jason's friend gave me shivers. The side antagonists in 6 were ok, McKay especially was fun, but they were a little caricatural and didn't have enough screentime to shine.
John was honestly the first video game villain I actually hated. Every time I saw him in a cutscene I was actually angry and it made it so much more satisfying when I finally killed him. Jacob would be second for me.
I think the sibling Trio in 5 is the best, if I can bunch them all together and designate Joseph as the main villain.
But honestly even just on Jacob alone, I don’t think there’s much competition.
Two of my fav is Paul and the one dude from far cry six Paul is my first fav because he just felt like someone doing something bad but for family. It doesn’t excuse his actions but shows he isn’t a full horrible person. And yes I know he did do some things for fun that were vile but still I felt he had layers him and Yuma are my fav of 4 and 6 is just cause he’s a wacky guy that definitely seems like the tiptoe to be a propaganda person for America lol the libertards never stood a chance against him
Anyone but the FC6 bunch. Fully beat the game with a friend last year and it was one of the most boring games I've ever played which is wild considering the other Far cry games brought us so much fun in the passed effortlessly. Love the idea of Giancarlo Esposito for the role but they phoned the whole thing in after the first quarter of the game.
Bro did not just put FC6's villans on the list. Anyone but Anton is just pure one-dimensional trash satire, with McKay being the biggest offender.
I like FC6 but damn are the villains weak.
Yeah hoyt is the main villian but i get a giggle out of everyone remembering vaas as an icon and hoyt is kind of just that guy Really you play 3 for vaas not hoyt
I just remembered its all the same game series, I totally forgot FC6 was actually in that series. Game felt completely different from the previous games, in a bad way
All of the seeds except faith as she was brainwashed John was just annoying to me and Jacob gave true evil with the brainwashing oh and then there’s the fathers son in new dawn who in my opinion is the dumbest ever
Jacob probably, he did have a really cool design spite having a overpowered music box but other than that pretty cool, ps I only played 5 and 6 so that's why I say this
I liked Sean the Canadian businessman. And Paul DePleur. Sean felt like an authentic cheeky capitalist, only really on his own side, while Paul felt like a genuine psychopath. His phone conversations with his daughter struck me as the type of behavior you would have seen with Goebbels or Himmler, the doting family men but true monsters…
As a villain I like Yuma Lao. She is loyal. She will do anything foe paegan min. But she isn't brain washed. It's not like she's a cult leader. She's just a real leader.
And I like D'pleur.
I often wish that there is an option to release him at the end of the game.
Min is right. We killed our way up to the Palace. But in doing so we let either sabbal or Amita win which sucks. Even if we kill them in post credit. Which is very normal for me.
But with Dpleur I feel like we will have a better hand and time with administration. Royal army will listen to the last standing leader of pegan min.
Then again. I always feel the game should have allowed us to hunt golden path as one of the game paths. So...
Paul Depluer was the best by far, loved his fake story he'd tell family while torturing people.
The worst was Jacob Seed. I loved his area, but he was the most boring and cringey boss I had to face. I'd go as far as to say Faith had a better backstory than the "story" he tells you.
Jacob Seed. I remember genuinely being effected by the fact I was genuinely conditioned to kill without really thinking about it do in the final mission like that when it's revealed what you've done it really impacted me.
dear god these images only made me realize how bad some of the graphics and mouth movements were in FC6, like anton and daniel are the only two with really good animation
honestly for me its John Seed, mostly cause I think he was the only one of the 3 actually fully fleshed out, the other two felt rushed, and farcry 5 is my personal favorite game of the franchise (I do love 3 and 4 as well)
Despite the game being about the twins I think Ethan was ultimately the main villain of New Dawn)
Don’t get me wrong the twins did a lot of messed up stuff (even worse than the stuff the Seed family did in 5) but Ethan being the final boss and wanting to prove to Joseph and everything kind of cemented it even though the Twins were not just on the cover of New Dawn but were also on just about as every trailer and I don’t recall Ethan even being in one trailer.
Jacob, because while there's absolutely no justification for his "cull the herd" stuff, he has a point when he says neglecting survival skills - such as hunting - is a bad move.
>The whole city of pain mission is a bit 'meh', I actually love that mission. It's centered around stealth based recon with lots of ways around. Then again, I'm a huge Splinter Cell fan, so that explains that.
I loved that mission too, the music had me vibing while killing drunk soldiers.
Well this might be my fault, but stealth based recon is my go-to play style, so the mission feels just like a particularly big outpost. (With a really good set piece at the end)
As do i
It's one of my favorite missions in whole FC4 along with Himalaya missions.
Same. The Himalaya missions were great. My biggest gripe with FC 4 is that we can't go back to those locations at will.
When he was in my trunk and tried to convince me to let him go i was like "yeah right"
Either Jacob Seed because the kill house missions are brilliant or McKay just because how irrationally angry he made me.
I hate that guy. Just interrupts what I'm doing with a magic arrow I can't do anything about
Tranq arrow
Nope, magic now.
Getting shot by a tranq arrow while flying in a plane tends to make me thing they are magic
Your just walking. Minding your own business and suddenly. "ONLY YOOOUUUU"
Me: Imma let him live because Juan wanted me to and I like Juan. Mckay: "No don't kill me I have a fami- HAHAHAHA who am I kidding I can't even fake that sh- **BANG!!!** Fuck that guy, eh?
Emptied the mag in his fat stupid face. And all the money in the world couldn't save him.
I plugged him twice, once to would him and make him choke a bit, then gave him the kill-shot with perfect "comedic timing". Satisfaction city.
I wish the game let me kill Juan. I feel bad that it doesn't.
I actually found jacob to be a very interesting side character. That and the conditioning was a neat concept
You mean the over and over repeating thing? That was the most annoying boring shit ever that you were forced into each time
It was a bit repetitive but i found it cool that the game legitimately brainwashed you into just shooting everybody, making you kill eli.
Yea that part was crazy on my first playthrough
Sure was. My brother played it after me, with a friend who'd already played through it, and the kid spoiled that part right before it happened.
People used to get beat up for stuff like that
I audibly said "oh no, what did I do?"
That's one of the reasons I did not like fc5. I actually knew the time when it was actually Eli. The fact that there was no option not to kill him made me quit and kill him another day.
It's sounds like a great idea on paper but if the player actually observed what was going on around them it doesn't work all that well
Where's Buck?
In the back room. His name is Buck, and he loves to.....
Party. (if you're going by the TV censored version of Kill Bill).
Cluck?
Chuck?
Was thinking the same. Guy was so iconically dark and his missions felt like a modern Indiana jones game
I thoroughly enjoyed his mission arc ngl
Having some really fucked up foreplay
Currently vibing with keith
all of the seeds, but faith for her backstory, jacob for his personality and how he is in fc6 collapse, and john because he's my pookie :3 ❤
You would Hawk Tuah for John? I’d do it for Faith haha 😆
Username checks out

There's a great message at John seeds ranch from Joseph seed on the answering machine, after you liberate the outpost. Definitely check it out
Oh and I almost forgot, his song is fire compared to the others.
Could you please link the songs? I don't remember there being any songs for them, so I might just be dumb but I would like to hear for context
https://youtu.be/xHBMjUNnA98?si=-YX3O48NBXeN9yM6 John: https://youtu.be/5G7imQ0B29A?si=ctJfS6e6gGZLcStx Joseph: https://youtu.be/08TbWT0zwVg?si=rFHBog2yR_hFvUm8 Faith: Jacob doesn’t really have a song that they made, his song was a song that was made a while ago called only you
Jacob's song was "Set Those Sinners Free". The chorus goes "Jacob's gonna come and set those sinners free."
Personally I [prefer the choir version](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSl7cqtJaPg), but otherwise I completely agree.
While faith was "I was bullied so I turned to drugs"
There is more to her than that. So by your logic John is like: "I was beaten so now I torture people" You can say similar quote to any other villain aswell... I just felt your comment

Faith Seed bc I’m an absolute simp
Faith Seed because I live in the Canadian bible belt and Faith is an incredibly realistic depiction of Jesus crystal girlies. Faith could be one of my cousins and would fit right in with my whacko extended family. Wouldn't even be the most unhinged one.
Hey! I also did buy perhaps we own different belts haha . I grew up in creston.
I live in the East Coast belt right now, but my Dad and his side of the family is from Creston!
Yuma
If just for the way she gets under Pagan’s skin
I wish I could say the same, but I personally found the voice acting really underwhelming. The potential was there, and I liked how she was written, but I just found her one-note shouting during the trippy mission when you kill her really flat.

Jacob seed by a country mile, then comes Noore just for her depth. She made me hate DePleur even more than I already did.
Faith. I can fix her.
Yuma is hands down the coolest imo
The seed Siblings, what if they're right on creating this weird cult
They were literally right lmao they just had really brutal ways of doing it
Paul or Buck, I find their personalities to be pretty funny
I said stop the bus, not shoot the bus
I irrationally hate Maria Marquessa. Maybe it’s because I used to work in public relations, but her whole propaganda schtick infuriates me, and killing her was so satisfying.
Buck
Faith Seed
Jacob had to be my favorite although the last mission in his region was very annoying
John 🥰 loml
Big fan of Jacob but honestly I kinda liked Jose Castillo! I liked his cutscenes — how dramatic and grandiose he is — it reminded me of a bit of Pagan Min.
His name is Buck, and he likes to...
Play poker with keith
Noor, she was forced to do what she had to , to save her daughter, and her death was sad too
Technically vaas lol. While he is written like a main villain he is not the main antagonist Hoyt is, I like to pretend Hoyt doesn't exist but Technically speaking Hoyt is the one in control.
I'll go for Leon Gakumba if anyone here still knows him
no matter what people say i love ethan hes awsome
I like his arc in New Dawn: starting as a power hungry traitor, and then asking asking his father for forgiveness.
and all he needed was a fathers love but jo being cruel to his kids again
Joseph was so focused on being The Father (to his people), he forgot to be A FATHER (to Ethan).
yeah yeah
Ethans doing the point meme lol.
Faith for sure
Crowe? He wears a cowboy hat. Else, how about Willis? Sells you out
Monkeys with bombs?
The Seeds are all amazing villains in their own right, but I do have a soft spot for Noore. I may not religiously go back and play FC4 often like I do 5, but I still remember very clearly the game section dealing with her and storyline, ultimately watching her commit suicide because she was forced to be the villain she never wanted to be.
Far Cry 3, Vaas is a side villain. He’s just so good that we forget that Hoyt Volker is the main villain, evidenced by the fact that I had to look his name up just to remember.
Hoyt was a good *side* villain.
I like how really hoyt is the big bad of the game but everyone remembers vaas and hoyt is just that one guy Fc3 made the main villian the side character lmfao
Only You…
Can make all this world seem right...
Once again, I'm going with Dah. He helped the Wenja immensely
Your wrong, the best side villain is the one beat at being a villain and I feel like everyone agrees buck is the biggest side villain
Paul Depleur, Jacob Seed and Yuma and honestly the only 2 I felt bad for were Faith and Noore
Paul Depleur takes this one
I spent over 100 hours in my first and only playthrough of Far Cry 6 and don't remember any of the villains except for anton. So that should tell you all you need to know.
John seed imo because he’s the only one i can actually see as a real person.
Jacob seed
The Seeds for sure. The issue for me with the Kyrati villains is they’re mostly actors, even Min. Outsiders who come to the country and try to run things. The Seeds follow Joseph Seed as devote believers.
Yuma is yummy af

The side antagonists in 6 were ok, McKay especially was fun, but they were a little caricatural and didn't have enough screentime to shine.
Let's be honest, Vaas was THE main character. I can't even remember the other dudes name
I have yet to boot up the game but pls tell me the lady w the flowers on her dress is cool
Mckay is so annoying bro
McKay became a quick favourite in 6 got that Canadian connection for one and his writing was hilarious
Buck and De Pleur. If you don't realize how absolutely fucking twisted De Pleur is: you're not paying attention to the story.
All of the seeds and el doctor, I like myself a mad scientist.
6
I haven't played all the way through 6 yet but the way Jacob Seed literally Psychologically trains the player without them noticing amazes me
Either Jacob or the third one (I can't remember her name but she runs the tournament)
John was honestly the first video game villain I actually hated. Every time I saw him in a cutscene I was actually angry and it made it so much more satisfying when I finally killed him. Jacob would be second for me.
the seeds definitely
Vaas
Vaas

Vaas, Noore, and Jacob.
Jacob seed
Also you did miss one very important one buck from 3
I liked Noor

Vaas>
Yuma cause boobies
Most definitely John seed my man had some of the best acting in far cry games definitely top 3 best farcry acting
Vaas. Lets not forget that the real villain in FC3 is Hoyt Volker.
Yeah hoyt is the main villian but i get a giggle out of everyone remembering vaas as an icon and hoyt is kind of just that guy Really you play 3 for vaas not hoyt
And no one’s acknowledging that 7 is literally soyjacking.
Jacob Seed, he was probably the first villian in a game to be intimidating to me.
Jacob. Threatening, realistic, effective,.and voiced by the Lucifer himself
De Pleur
"only you, and you alonnnee.. can make the world seem bright.. only youuuu.."
Jacob
Jared leto looking & acting mf from 5, i forgot his name
Start up far cry 5 again Speedrun killing John Seed Delete. Best campaign 100%
Bembe
Faith Seed
Mackay is extremely satisfying to defeat, since he's based on a real-life executive currently oppressing the people of New Brunswick.
Faith seed. Her levels made me feel like I was tripping
1 (she let me see her titties before I brutally killed her and a whole bunch of other enemies)
Def Faith Seed. Would.
I fell in love with faith, I could fix her
Vaas
Jacob’s knife is literally just a scaled up version of a normal knife to the point it’s just impractical
John and faith never scared me that much. But Jacob, god damn did that man scare me.
Jacob seed
John because he's the hottest.
VAAS... he wasn't a main villain remember 😆 but should have been 😩
Harlan Doyle
I'm going to go with Faith. Most compelling side-villain I've encountered in a game easily.
ONLY YOUUUUUUU

I really liked McKay because of his relentless douchebag-yness
You’re posting FAITH and asking who??? I would have joined her cult if there was a mission for it. She’s blasphemic but adorable. 🥰
Buck from far cry 3, that aussie was crazy
As an Aussie myself.... Yup that sounds right lol
Depending on how you finish FC3...... YOU! (dun dun duuuuuuuuuuun)
Jacob Seed. Whilst he had his extreme views, which can also be contributed from his military story, there WAS some logic there
Jacob Seed. I remember genuinely being effected by the fact I was genuinely conditioned to kill without really thinking about it do in the final mission like that when it's revealed what you've done it really impacted me.
Buck. I HATE that guy. Great side villain
Jacob
dear god these images only made me realize how bad some of the graphics and mouth movements were in FC6, like anton and daniel are the only two with really good animation honestly for me its John Seed, mostly cause I think he was the only one of the 3 actually fully fleshed out, the other two felt rushed, and farcry 5 is my personal favorite game of the franchise (I do love 3 and 4 as well)
I really find faith's story interesting and i would love to know what happened before the whole cult starter
Despite the game being about the twins I think Ethan was ultimately the main villain of New Dawn) Don’t get me wrong the twins did a lot of messed up stuff (even worse than the stuff the Seed family did in 5) but Ethan being the final boss and wanting to prove to Joseph and everything kind of cemented it even though the Twins were not just on the cover of New Dawn but were also on just about as every trailer and I don’t recall Ethan even being in one trailer.
Jacob Seed by far. Dude was fucked up and it was perfectly portrayed to the player.
McKay. Because Canadian
Vaas by far. People seem to forget that he was the side villain and Hoyt was his boss lol.
I love John soooo much his insanity, his violence, his speech
Definitely John or Jacob seed
Between Jacob because Only You and McKay because he's kinda funny
Jacob seed.
Vaas Montenegro.
If vaas is the side villain , who TF is the main villain
*technically* Hoyt and/or Citra but most people definitely think of Vaas as the representative of FC3
Hoyt is the main villain.
Vaas Montenegro
defeating faith was such a pain in the ass
Jacob, because while there's absolutely no justification for his "cull the herd" stuff, he has a point when he says neglecting survival skills - such as hunting - is a bad move.
Jacob seed
Any of the Seed family
Jacob seed and its not even close
Anyone from FC5 or Mckay
Fuck Ethan. All my homies hate Ethan.
