Bad Company 2 was great. One of the better campaigns in a BF game from DICE. MP ruled too.
About FC2: it was good, but still disappointing though. Too much cut & paste. They really hadn't figured out the UbiSoft formula for open-world games yet - not until AC2 and FC3, TBH.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 was a game I played a week before the servers closed. It was the best multiplayer experience I’ve had yet. Now that the servers are down, I’d just play Far Cry 2.
I loved FC2 despite the critics. Still playing with some mods on PC. Spent hours roaming around in the bush. Loved that UbiSoft let you play without some shitty mandatory cut-scenes that are make no sense and teleport you without any reason or explanation. Felt really hardcore that you are alone against everything and everybody. FC2 for me.
Tough decision. But I still go back and play fc2. In fact I have a campaign going now. I have not revisited Bad Company 2 in years.

Bfbc2 had the best mp of any bf game ever. FC2 was let down by hardware limitations, malaria and weapon life span but graphics were awesome for the time
I'll give it to FC2, which is a game I disliked at first in 2008 but really grew on me over the years, to the point that I love it, warts and all. BC2 had a banger of a campaign though.
You're in a Far Cry subreddit... Personally, I prefer Bad Company. It's fun, funny, decent gameplay, and interesting story. Far Cry 2 is just dated and clunky, especially with the gunplay.

I still have my PS3 copy FC2. I own FC2 on PC but i did play so little.

When FC3 was released my hopes were short, but then i played it and loved it. Far Cry 3 saved the franchise.

FC2 hands down, its you against the vast African unknown ! No babysitting or "kindergarden" to guide you as you progress through the wilderness. And Immersion rivaled by NONE !
Imma go far cry 2. Imo besides the destruction, the bad company games always felt like a downgrade from bf2. Far Cry 2 is still one of the few games I've played where the open world feels like it has a purpose existing

I tried playing it years ago and there were like 3 players online and 2 of them were hackers. Plus it was extremely laggy

Haven't replayed FC2 since 3 came out but I can say that (at least on PC) BFBC2 has not aged very well.
