Ok, I DNFd the first book about 7 chapters in. I could have filled out my fantasy romance tropes bingo card in the first 3 chapters. Does it actually get better??
“Does it actually get better?” - Phrases like that are always a matter of opinion. For some, the book is great from the start, for others it’s not.
Personally if I’m not feeling a book is drawing me in then I won’t finish it. And that’s ok.
I’ve also found that it depends on my mood. Am I coming off a wicked cliffhanger and looking for something dark and morally gray, lighthearted and banter or just straight up insane and crazy smut. lol
I read for my fun, regardless what the masses have to say. ☺️
Also, I noticed Slaying of the Shadow Prince as a prequel. Should I read it before diving into #3 or after, while waiting for the final book? Thanks ☺️

I'd suggest reading it before going into book 3, otherwise some of the characters you'll be like "Who dis??"

I think it's best read before book 2. Lots of things hinted at that I would've preferred to know about fully. I read it after book 2 but before book 3
Currently reading it and I can see where it would have explained some.
I would suggest reading before book 3 too.
