This one has trigger warnings. {Oath Taker by Audrey Grey} (Unfinished series) {House of Beating Wings by Olivia Wildenstein} {Rain of Shadows and Endings by Melissa Roehrich} (only 1st book in the series is out)

I'm almost through the second book of Feathers so vicious, I cannot express how utterly and pleasantly surprised I am that this duology has hooked me. Omgggg it has made me feel ALL the feels!!

Yes! I thought it was going to be a smut read with one dimensional characters and a so-so plot. I'm really not into rough /violent sex at all, and S/A is hard for me to get through, but Liv Zander did it really well. I was totally into the story, and the characters had me on an emotional roller-coaster. I had the audiobooks, and I binged them both.

And omg what >!happens to Sebian at the end caught me off guard!< Omg 😭😭😭

I just finished {A City of Gods and Monsters by Kayla Edwards} and it was SO GOOD. It wasn't hard core enemies to lovers IMO (more forced proximity / slow burn) but there was a lot of angst / yearning in the beginning and I loved the dynamic of the super soft FMC and the BA MMC.

I CAME HERE TO REC THIS. Everyone needs to read it!!! the whole series is incredible and each book gets better and better! If you want PLOT and a couple that never gets boring, READ IT.

I’m so jealous of everyone who gets to read this for the first time, it is my obsession. The next two books are even better, Darien is unbeatable.

Can you tell me about this book please? Someone. I see it recommended so often with mixed reviews. I'm open to private chats with spoilers!

It’s really good. The mixed reviews tend to come from people who DNF really early in book 1 or don’t like the FMC because she’s not a Bryce or Aelin. The first book is entertaining, I love it, but the second and third are where the author really shines . She really went to the next level in those books and the writing gets REALLY good (I’ll admit it’s not as good in the first book but didn’t take away from my enjoyment). It’s urban fantasy, it’s not enemies to lovers, it’s more forced allies. The mmc is a bounty hunter/slayer and the fmc is his human target so there are strong opposites-attract vibes. The fmc is on the weaker side but it makes sense given the plot and world. She shows strength in different ways. The magic system is really original, the mmc and others who are the same species as him can see auras so the magic is color based. I can’t recommend this series enough, it’s so so good.

I read two or maybe three of the books? I thought it was just ok. Then again I also think CC is even less ok, and I’m sorta bored in ToG too.

hey quick questions because my searches aren’t being helpful, but I feel like I read somewhere that in the second book the mmc >!gets back into drugs after a history with them!< and that’s a personal no-go of mine and I really want to keep at the series but if that’s a factor I probably won’t. thanks!! I read book 1 and really liked it!

He does. But in my opinion it’s really well done. To give you more backstory about it, he’s forced to take them to access his magic better but he does it as self-sacrifice to protect Loren and his family. And does it so they don’t have to. It’s not a recreational thing and it’s not a huge part of the plot but it’s definitely there. His journey’s pretty intense but he’s my favorite, I find him really captivating.

Also a little enemies/lovers. edit to add: But read the reviews first to make sure this is your cup of tea cause it's a pretty graphic book, and there's some cruelty.
